Waching daily Aug 3 2018

Like most games, the Tekken series has an interesting range of changes that have been

made to the games over the years, either in different countries around the world or sometimes

changes being made worldwide for one reason or another.

For instance, did you know that this PlayStation ad for Tekken 3 got banned in the UK by the

Advertising Standards Authority?

As this magazine reports, the ASA thought the ad was likely to cause offense and so

not only pulled the advertising campaign, but also forced Sony to first vet all future

poster advertisements through them in future.

Sony defended the poster, saying it was meant to show "a surreal situation by positioning

the body parts in the manner reminiscent of a cartoon character" - but, nonetheless, the

ASA's decision still stood by.

Moving things over to Korea, where the character Alisa has been censored in all versions ever

since her introduction in Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

Whilst elsewhere, the humanoid robot can sprout chainsaws during combat, all Korean versions

have instead replaced these with lightsaber-like devices.

That's not all though.

The Korean versions also make other changes to Alisa so that her body parts can no longer

detach.

This includes her head which she will usually use in combat in various creative ways.

It's not known why exactly this change has been made in Korea, although it is suspected

to be due to not wanting a higher age rating or due to the title's heavy Korean eSports

presence, and the fact it is often broadcast on TV.

Back to Tekken 3 and this time for some censorship that was made to all English versions of the

game.

As shown here in this split screen footage from Anna WIlliam's ending, in the original

Japanese version on the right, the ending is longer and goes very differently.

In the English versions, the scene ends with Anna meeting some guys by the pool and walking

towards the camera with them.

Over in Japan though, Nina isn't happy about this attention that she and her sister are

receiving and walks up to Anna and unhooks her bra.

The Japanese version then ends with Nina, not Anna, walking towards the camera.

Next up, we go to Germany, for an interesting change that had to be made to Pokkén Tournament

for Wii U and Pokkén Tournament DX for Nintendo Switch.

Whilst not a true Tekken game, the title fuses elements from the Tekken series into the Pokémon

universe and this is hinted at with its "Pokkén" name.

Over in Germany though, this name has the unfortunate effect of being similar to the

German word for "smallpox".

Thus, for all German versions, the game now instead goes by the name Pokémon Tekken instead.

For another Tekken cross-over game, this time we have an explanation on how this over 9000

meme was inserted into Street Fighter X Tekken's English translation...

As the website Legends Of Localization reports, everything is kept pretty similar in the Japanese

version, except that instead of "over 9000" the power level is given the precise number

of 8782.55...

It is clear that the English localizers decided to use this as an opportunity to reference

Dragon Ball Z and its popular over 9000 quote...

However, it's possible that the original Japanese version was also referencing this scene from

Dragon Ball.

You see, in the Japanese Dragon Ball dub, Vegata doesn't say Goku's power level is "over

9000" but "over 8000" - meaning the Japanese Tekken line still fits.

Moving things to Tekken 2 and another regional difference between the Western and Japanese

versions.

The Japanese PlayStation release actually contained a theatre mode that you could unlock,

which allowed you to watch all of the game's cutscenes at your leisure.

It's unknown why this was removed over in the West but thankfully the theatre mode would

return in Tekken 3 and this time would be available worldwide.

And, as an added bonus, it even allowed you to insert Tekken 1's and 2's discs and watch

their cutscenes too.

This time for not a regional difference but an example of a game having to be altered

worldwide, following a piece of text being unknowingly put in the game that was likely

to cause offense.

In the original versions of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, there was Arabic text on the floor of the

Saudi Arabia stage and some of this text said Allah - the Muslim name for God.

Fans took to Twitter to point this out and the series producer responded, saying:

"We didn't know that.

We will change stage design data as soon as possible.

We couldn't read that."

The fact that God's name was on the floor of a fighting arena was considered disrespectful

and so the stage was promptly changed to remove this.

The Tekken series is far from being a stranger to some controversy though.

You may recall some of the many twists and turns that Tekken 7 took leading up to its

release.

For instance, at one point Harada blamed, to quote, "SJWs" and suggested that the swimsuits

would be removed from English versions to avoid any controversy.

During another incident, the producer said that Lucky Chole would be removed from the

US version following criticism from some over her being too 'cutesy'.

And then there was another incident, where the same producer told the world that Roger

Jr had to be removed from the Western versions over fear of complaints from "animal activists".

When release day came around however, it was found that none of these reports turned out

to be true.

It was likely that the producer was just trying to be provocative and so perhaps this is something

you may want to keep in mind when it comes to any future incidents like these.

Sticking with that last point about "animal activists", though, it is often reported on

the web that PETA, aka People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, actually got in touch

with Namco in the early 2000s and complained over Anna's Tekken 3 Zebra outfit and that

it promoted wearing fur.

Whatever the case, whilst Censored Gaming can't prove or disapprove this as being true,

it seems to be a very commonly held belief and it's also interesting to note how the

outfit didn't make a return all the way up until Tekken 6.

Anyway, that's all we have time for today but hopefully you have now learnt a few new

things about the different versions of Tekken around the world.

Think we've missed anything?

a look at next!

Until next time, thank you for watching!

Huckabee Sanders Nearly Cries And Won't Say Press Is NOT The Enemy Of The People - Duration: 7:39.

For the entire month of July, Sarah Huckabee Sanders held ... I think it was only three

press briefings on camera during the entire month of July.

So for the month of August, I guess she's back at it.

She's going out there every day trying her best to continue to lie to us and act like

it's not getting to her.

And I say, "act like it's not getting to her" because by now, I'm sure we've all heard about

the interaction that happened on Thursday during the press brief in between CNN's Jim

Acosta and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Acosta wanted her to refute Donald Trump's claims that the press is not the enemy of

the people, something Ivanka Trump actually did earlier that day, Sarah Huckabee Sanders

wouldn't do it.

Take a look at the interaction here, and you'll notice something about Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

You have to listen beyond her words.

Here it is.

Jim.

I just wanted to follow up on Sarah's question from NPR.

She asked you about Ivanka Trump's statement that the press is not the enemy of the people.

And she asked you whether or not the press is the enemy of the people.

You read off a laundry list of your concerns about the press and then things that you feel

like are misreported, but you did not say that the press is not the enemy of the people.

I think it would be a good thing if you were to say right here at this briefing that the

press, the people who have gathered in this room right now, are doing their jobs every

day, asking questions of officials like the ones you brought forward earlier are not the

enemy of the people.

I think we deserve that.

I think the president has made his position known.

I also think it's ironic-

But would you mind telling us, Sarah-

I'm trying to answer your question.

I politely waited.

And I even called on you, despite the fact that you interrupted me while calling on your

colleague.

[crosstalk 00:01:47]

I said it's ironic-

Which is why I interrupted.

I'm trying-

But if you would not mind letting me having a follow-up, that would be fine, but it-

It's ironic, Jim, that not only you and the media attack the president for his rhetoric

when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country.

Repeatedly, the media resorts to personal attacks without any content other than to

insight anger.

The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions, including your own network,

said I should be harassed as a life senate, that I should be choked.

ICE officials were not welcome in their place of worship and personal information is shared

on the Internet.

When I was hosted by the Correspondents' Association, of which almost all of you are members of,

you brought a comedian up to attack my appearance and call me a traitor to my own gender.

In fact, as far as I know, I'm the first press secretary in the history of the United States

that's required secret service protection.

Tell that to the five dead people of Indianapolis.

The media continues to ratchet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone

in this administration.

And certainly, we have a role to play, but the media has a role to play for the discourse

in this country as well.

If you don't mind ... If I may follow-up ... Excuse me.

You did not say in the course of those remarks that you just made, that the press is not

the enemy of the people.

Are we to take it from what you just said ... We all get put through the ringer, we

all get put in the meat grinder in this town, and you're no exception.

And I'm sorry that happened to do.

I wish that had not happened.

But for the sake of this room, the people who are in this room, this democracy, this

country, all the people around the world are watching what you're saying, Sarah.

And the White House for the United States of America, the president of the United States

should not refer to us as the enemy of the people.

His own daughter acknowledges that.

And all I'm asking you to do, Sarah, is to acknowledge that right now and right here.

I appreciate your passion.

I share it.

I've addressed this question.

I've addressed my personal feelings.

I'm here to speak on behalf of the president.

He's made his comments clear.

Okay, I'm gonna get to what she said in a moment, but let's focus first on how she said

it.

You can clearly hear in her voice right there that she is about to cry.

This job has broken her, and she has hit her tipping point.

This is only the second time since she has been press secretary that there has been visible,

audible evidence that this woman was about to lose it at the podium.

The other time was when the small child asked her about school safety and gun control.

There, right there, she was 100% about to start crying.

And that is why she started going on the offensive.

She started attacking Acosta.

She started attacking CNN.

She went through her list, read her list because she had it written out.

God only knows how long she's been carrying it around, but she was ready to go through

that list of perceived grievances that she has against some of the members of the press

there.

She did not address Acosta's question.

She did not address the fact that CNN reporters were essentially shouted down, cursed out,

given the finger at Trump's rally the other night.

The press is the victim in this instance, Sarah, not you.

You have fostered many of the ill wills that the public has towards them, you and your

boss.

So you want to sit there and read your little list of grievances, things that make you so

sad you almost cry, go ahead, but nobody cares.

You are a horrible human being.

Your only job seems to be to go out there and lie to the press every day.

And even though you're the one doing the lying, you have the audacity to call them fake news

and say that they are the enemies?

You, Sarah, are the enemy here.

The press deserves better.

And the press, if they had any sense, and I know corporate sponsors and corporate leaders

won't let them do this, but if they had a little bit of sense, they would band together

and just say, "You know what?

Screw it.

We're not going to attend another one of these disgusting press briefings with this disgusting

woman.

But if you get rid of her, maybe we'll start coming back.

But until then, have fun with all of the press and publicity that's gonna be coming your

way because none of it is going to put you, Mr. Trump, in a positive light."

If the press had any scruples here, that is what they would be doing.

But instead, they're gonna keep showing up at these press briefings, keep getting cracked

on by Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and then have the audacity to themselves get on Twitter

and whine about them being the victims.

You have a choice.

Everybody in that room has a choice.

And I do feel for the press here.

And I believe in this particular instance, they were the victims.

But if you keep putting yourself in that situation without properly fighting back or just saying,

"I'm done", then at some point, it becomes even harder to feel some sympathy for you.

But Sarah Huckabee Sanders, that's why I have no sympathy left for her.

She could have started bawling in the middle of her little tirade there, and I would have

felt nothing.

And I'm the kind of person that usually has empathy for everyone regardless of political

affiliation or anything that it doesn't affect me.

The fact that they're a human being, and they're in trouble and need, that gets to me.

But Sarah Huckabee Sanders had ruined that for me, for her, so I don't care if she bursts

into tears.

What she has done to this country is far worse than her not getting to eat a meal at a restaurant.

Robert Mueller Discovered One Phone Call That Is Devastating News For Trump - Duration: 13:39.

Robert Mueller Discovered One Phone Call That Is Devastating News For Trump

Robert Mueller is desperate.

His collusion investigation is a hoax and he's scrounging around for anything he can

use to make the case that Congress should impeach Donald Trump.

He's discovered one phone call that could be bad news for the President.

Mueller is zeroing in on the Trump administration's response to the story that a Russian lawyer

promised Donald Trump, Jr. dirt on Hillary Clinton in exchange for a meeting.

The lawyer lied.

There was no dirt—the lawyer wanted to lobby the campaign about lifting sanctions on Russia

adoption.

It was another supposed bombshell that fizzled within hours of its publication.

So Mueller – in his zeal to destroy the President – is focusing on a phone call

between Trump, top aide Hope Hicks, and former legal team spokesmen Mark Corallo, where they

discussed the administration's response to the story.

Corallo alleges that Hicks claimed the emails that Trump, Jr. eventually made public would

"never get out" and alleges that this meant she was trying to obstruct justice with

the President on the phone.

The New York Times reports:

"THE CONFERENCE CALL WITH THE PRESIDENT, MR.

CORALLO AND MS.

HICKS TOOK PLACE THE NEXT MORNING, AND WHAT TRANSPIRED ON THE CALL IS A MATTER OF DISPUTE.

IN MR.

CORALLO'S ACCOUNT — WHICH HE PROVIDED CONTEMPORANEOUSLY TO THREE COLLEAGUES WHO

LATER GAVE IT TO THE TIMES — HE TOLD BOTH MR.

TRUMP AND MS.

HICKS THAT THE STATEMENT DRAFTED ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE WOULD BACKFIRE BECAUSE DOCUMENTS

WOULD EVENTUALLY SURFACE SHOWING THAT THE MEETING HAD BEEN SET UP FOR THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN

TO GET POLITICAL DIRT ABOUT MRS.

CLINTON FROM THE RUSSIANS.

ACCORDING TO HIS ACCOUNT, MS.

HICKS RESPONDED THAT THE EMAILS "WILL NEVER GET OUT" BECAUSE ONLY A FEW PEOPLE HAD ACCESS

TO THEM.

MR.

CORALLO, WHO WORKED AS A JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SPOKESMAN DURING THE GEORGE W. BUSH ADMINISTRATION,

TOLD COLLEAGUES HE WAS ALARMED NOT ONLY BY WHAT MS.

HICKS HAD SAID — EITHER SHE WAS BEING NAÏVE OR WAS SUGGESTING THAT THE EMAILS COULD BE

WITHHELD FROM INVESTIGATORS — BUT ALSO THAT SHE HAD SAID IT IN FRONT OF THE PRESIDENT

WITHOUT A LAWYER ON THE PHONE AND THAT THE CONVERSATION COULD NOT BE PROTECTED BY ATTORNEY-CLIENT

PRIVILEGE."

Hicks' lawyer strongly denied this allegation and labeled it as false.

The Times also reports:

IN A STATEMENT ON WEDNESDAY, A LAWYER FOR MS.

HICKS STRONGLY DENIED MR.

CORALLO'S ALLEGATIONS.

"AS MOST REPORTERS KNOW, IT'S NOT MY PRACTICE TO COMMENT IN RESPONSE TO QUESTIONS FROM THE

MEDIA.

BUT THIS WARRANTS A RESPONSE," SAID THE LAWYER, ROBERT P. TROUT.

"SHE NEVER SAID THAT.

AND THE IDEA THAT HOPE HICKS EVER SUGGESTED THAT EMAILS OR OTHER DOCUMENTS WOULD BE CONCEALED

OR DESTROYED IS COMPLETELY FALSE."

Mueller's interest in this episode shows how desperate he is to destroy Trump.

Even if the initial statement to the media was misleading, that is not a crime.

If a special counsel was appointed every time a politician shaded the truth to the media

there would be 535 special counsels investigating every member of Congress.

Mueller digging into this meeting exposes that he is holding no cards.

If he really had any evidence of collusion or obstruction he would be pursuing that instead.

Investigations are supposed to be conducted in pursuit of evidence to prove a crime was

committed.

The Mueller probe is an investigation in pursuit of a crime.

Trump is being investigated because his real "crime" was winning the election against

the wishes of the political establishment.

So they are using this fake news Russia probe to try and tear him down.

It's an illegitimate assault on Democracy

and it

should

be shut down immediately.

3 Cups of Coffee a Day: Is It Healthy? - Duration: 5:42.

3 Cups of Coffee a Day: Is It Healthy?

Many studies confirm that drinking coffee daily (in moderation, of course) is beneficial for your health.

For years, people have avoided coffee in the belief that its caffeine content was harmful to the body.

However, year after year, new research continues to confirm that drinking coffee is actually good for you.

A few studies have indicated that coffee has positive effects in the treatment and prevention of health problems like diabetes, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

New studies are revealing more and more benefits and great reasons to drink coffee.

A study conducted by the National Cancer Institute of Bethesda (Maryland, US) and published in Hepatology states that drinking coffee has positive effects on the liver.

To conduct their research, scientists used data from the United States National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES 1999-2010) and selected 27,793 participants age 20 or older.

Volunteers filled out a survey about their coffee drinking habits and researchers tested their blood, measuring different markers for liver function.

The purpose of this study was to measure the health of participants' livers and it was found that those who drank three or more cups of coffee a day had lower liver enzyme levels compared to non-coffee drinkers.

Researchers found that other compounds in coffee, besides caffeine, promote liver health when consumed in moderation.

Reduce Your Risk of Fatty Liver and Fibrosis with Coffee.

Another study, also published in Hepatology, showed that drinking coffee significantly reduces the risk of accumulating connective tissue in the liver (fibrosis) in patients suffering from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

The study determined that the caffeine in coffee can reduce the accumulation of connective tissue in those suffering from chronic liver diseases, like fibrosis.

To conduct their study, researchers interviewed 306 people about their caffeine consumption and divided them into groups: patients without signs of fibrosis on ultrasound (the control group), those with steatosis, those with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) stages 0-1 and 2-4.

Patients with steatosis who drank coffee showed a significant difference in comparison with stage 0-1 NASH patients.

Coffee consumption was higher among NASH stage 0-1 patients with 58% reporting regular coffee intake as compared to 36% of stage 2-4 patients.

According to experts, more testing and research is needed to determine the quantity consumed needed to impact clinical outcomes.

Benefits of Coffee.

The benefits of drinking coffee are becoming increasingly apparent, even though it was long believed the beverage could be harmful to our health.

Recent studies indicate that drinking coffee can prevent and protect against diabetes, as well as certain cancers associated with obesity, estrogen and insulin, like endometrial cancer.

Due to its antioxidant content, coffee is associated with preventing liver and bladder cancer.

Reduces your risk of developing cirrhosis.

Lowers your risk of heart disease, thanks to its flavonoids.

It's recommended for headaches and certain types of migraines.

Coffee consumption is associated with a lower risk of gallstones and other gall bladder problems.

Drinking coffee stimulates gastric secretions, increasing bile production and contracting the gall bladder for better digestion.

Numerous scientific studies show that individuals who drink three cups of coffee a day are at a 50% lower risk of suffering from cognitive decline.
