Waching daily Aug 29 2018

I was a kid when INROADS began. This would have been the mid-60's.

A very tumultuous time in American history.

My dad would have inner city kids come spend the weekend at our home, which was, in this suburban Connecticut town, quite an odd thing.

But then, nonetheless, he was unwavered.

I remember coming home from college and finding out that my dad was going to leave the corporate world and start INROADS.

In fact, INROADS headquarters was the chair in our living room.

He took a bunch of school buses to the march on Washington.

Free as last, free at last, thank God Almighty! We are free at last!

He was changed forever.

He came up with this idea to take kids who just didn't have a chance

and put together a program that would get them into management positions and corporations.

and give them a way to move up. And that was the real brainchild of INROADS.

There's been an unlevel playing field in America for a long time.

And that's what our founder, Frank Carr, was trying to resolve.

There's unequal access of information, there's unequal access of opportunity, and there's unequal access of relationships.

In order to build the workforce, we need the clothes that got Frank Carr started with African Americans in 1970 and today.

With other minorities, we're now 28,000 alumni strong, and we've touched 154,000 lives.

Growing up with a single mother in a traditionally Indian background was challenging for me.

No one in my family had been to college in America.

No one had experienced the internship process, but in college I realized that my background was actually an opportunity.

INROADS provided me with the chance to stand at the same level as my peers,

who have so many resources and can refer to their families to provide them with their internships.

INROADS is that family for me.

I'm Arun Yagnamurthy, I'm 21 years old, and I'm from Dallas, Texas.

What initially caught my eye about INROADS was the corporate sponsors.

I am actually interning at Procter & Gamble.

Procter & Gamble is one of the largest purveyors of consumer goods in the world.

Diversity in the workforce is important because if you have a workforce that fully reflects the society

then you have the greatest range of possibilities for innovation, for creativity, that really fuels the growth in the company.

INROADS is one of the original leaders in opportunities for diverse individuals.

It's important that companies like Procter & Gamble continue to infuse that kind of talent

in order to, not just be successful in their companies, but to be contributors as part of the overall society.

These sought Fortune 500 companies have like an arrow going right for them.

He knew that they had the funds, he knew that they had the expertise, he needed their partnership in developing INROADS.

I'm doing exactly what the real professionals would be doing.

I've had the chance to learn so much during this internship and narrow down what I really want to do with my life.

I think Arun is very well-equipped to make it in corporate America.

He's already demonstrated great leadership skills, great collaboration skills, the ability to execute against a plan.

Arun has the ability to just jump right into a project, pretty much day one.

At an internship with P&G, it's not like some other companies where you're getting coffee and making copies.

The work that you're doing is very meaningful, it's very impactful.

Most internship programs end at the end of the summer. Our model is built to be year round

because we think learning is. It's year round.

The mentorship is so that you have a personal coach for the rest of your life.

After their internship, they have questions.

Now what am I gonna do? Where am I gonna go? How am I gonna get that full time job?

And that's what we help them do. To transition on to their career.

INROADS are supporting people with diverse backgrounds, with diverse upbringings.

I'm so grateful for everything they've done for me.

There are tons of different people in every organization that don't look like me, that don't look like you.

We gotta work together, we're people.

I think my father's legacy is INROADS. He got it started and it's continued.

The INROADS group has just done it.

He really wanted this to be run by the folks that it was meant to serve. What I see here today, oh my gosh.

It's thrived, and it looks like it's gonna keep going.

forever and ever.

Lanny Davis Admits He Lied But CNN Is STILL Pushing FAKE Trump Tower Story(VIDEO)!!! - Duration: 14:52.

Lanny Davis Admits He Lied But CNN Is STILL Pushing FAKE Trump Tower Story

welcome back to this ingram angle special the left and lawlessness one of

the reasons the left is able to get away with so much is because the media let

them off the hook case in point last month the broadcast networks went

wild over a report that Michael Cohen was preparing to tell investigators the

President Trump had advanced knowledge of that infamous meeting between Trump

Tower at Trump Tower between Donald Trump jr. and a Russian attorney

here's a montage put together by the media Research Center bombshell

president Trump's longtime lawyer ready to deliver the goods sources tell NBC

News the Michael Cohen claims that Donald Trump had advanced knowledge of

the Trump Tower meeting Michael Cohen the president's former attorney and

fixer claims that then candidate Donald Trump was aware of the June 2016

Trump Tower meeting with the Russians before it happened and Michael Cohen

claims president Trump knew of the controversial 2016 meeting with Russians

that were expecting to give the campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton there was only

one problem with the story it wasn't true here's what Michael Cohen's

attorney Lanny Davis said earlier this week so Michael Cohen does not have

information that President Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting with the

Russians beforehand or you know does not and here are all the corrections that

ran

yeah there weren't any so joining me now for reaction is Howard Kurtz host of Fox

News's media buzz Howard thank you so much for joining us here when you see

this situation I mean the media was just oh they've got their aha moment they

knew they had them on this one and they ran it and they ran it and they ran it

and then the al Cowen's attorney is saying that it wasn't true yeah we now

know that it wasn't true Michael Cohen doesn't claim was true Lanny Davis says

it's not true all that whole montage you just played comes from a CNN story CNN

was the one that broke this exclusive story

it still hasn't been corrected and you know a major problem Jason with the

coverage of the Trump presidency is that some news organizations have lowered the

bar for what they publish they are too quick to run a gun they're too quick to

put out allegations based on unnamed sources that sometimes turn out not to

be true CNN had a problem with that last year when had a fire three journalists

over an unsubstantiated story on Anthony's Karamu Chi I asked CNN for

comment this morning have it or anything back no public statement well now the

New York Post is out with the story saying that it was actually Cohen who

was the person who had confirmed the story in the first place they must have

known that Howard how could they not ask him or questioned him about that

hey you confirmed this the first time and now you're saying it's not true if

doesn't the media if they know that don't they have an obligation a duty to

then follow up with that second question and produce the appropriate apology or

absolutely but I would say don't hold your breath you know it's so ironic

because every single day many news organizations and sometimes it's part of

our job hammer the White House so well you were wrong on this is the president

lying about that why won't you come clean I mean it kind of dominates a lot

of the coverage and in the time of investigations you might expect some of

that but when I am mber of the media we all make mistakes but when there is a

mistake on a story of this magnitude claiming advanced knowledge this drum

tower meeting suddenly you don't see that same zeal to correct now Lanny

Davis who as we mentioned hones attorney has said that he was an anonymous source

for CNN he believes he was trying to wave the network off the story maybe he

wasn't clear enough he's me that he regrets that but then CNN

should come out and talk about that and so say we now retract the story again no

public comment from the network yeah that's what I meant to say is Lanny

Davis not Cohen I mean he's supposed to be representing him as the attorney and

it not clear I mean its heart of black and white in this situation I want to go

back to one that always bothered me and I I've always wanted to ask you this but

way back when in the day look at this time magazine cover this is this is a

cover story red handed with Donald Trump jr. making him look really ominous I

mean there is still a question about this what do you make of that I mean

Time magazine goes to great lengths it's so inflammatory and even now we're

ending up maybe not even true I have lost track of all the time magazine

covers that make President Trump and in this case member of his family look

absolutely awful I presume that cover was from a time of the Trump Tower

meeting when Donald Trump jr. and Paul Manafort and Jerry Kirchner had that

meeting with the Russian lawyer and look you know the fact they took the meeting

is very controversial it did appear they were looking for dirt on Hillary Clinton

it went nowhere but you know it's a very accusatory cover and of course you find

the obligatory unflattering picture to go with it one last very quick question

when Donald Trump talks about fake news and you look at the people in the

heartland of America they figure this out don't they don't they figure this

out how I don't they understand that maybe the media is just way too zealous

they're too quick on the draw and there is a double standard well I think a long

time ago many people in this country figured out that the media are a little

bit tougher on your party the Republican Party and I also think that fake news

and I never particularly liked the term in fact in that interview with Fox this

Ainslie era president Trump now says 80% of the media are fake news to me fake is

fabricated deliberately made up we don't really see very much of that but we do

see a lot of is unrelentingly negative coverage of this president sometimes

biased coverage sometimes outrageous commentary he gives it back of course he

has every right to do that sometimes he goes a little far in his rhetoric but

but to answer your question yeah the media have lost a whole

a lot of confidence of a major chunk of the country became and it's it's sort of

on steroids in the Trump era yeah that's right Howie thank you very much

last month CNN announced a bombshell that Michael Cohen said President Trump

knew about that meeting between his son and a Russian claiming to have dirt on

Hillary something as rare as air it was one of a thousand final nails in the

coffin of Trump's presidency but then Lanny Davis Hillary's creepy fixer who's

now defending Trump's creepy fixer figured that out

says his creepy client didn't have such info which is odd since now it's

revealed that creepy Davis was the anonymous creepy source who supplied

creepy CNN with that creepy info that the network then milked to death while

lecturing us on ethics so CNN is in a creepy pickle their

source for their biggest story of the year is giving us the creeps so you're

following this wish I wasn't I need to run my soul through a car wash after all

this I'm like the rest of the media who eat this stuff up no matter the sourcing

they're like a drunk frat boy at 3:00 a.m. they'll eat a pop-tart off the

floor as long as there's ketchup so when ov and Adi comes knockin sin and shrieks

like Bieber fans with backstage passes and why only because it perpetuates a

story that the media can't stop feeding on two years ago they were gorging on

electing Trump now they gorge on impeaching him avenatti

Cohen and Davis three square meals the media devours daily but gluttony is a

sin no wonder they all seemed so dumb and slow and what's called reporting now

is just rumour spoon-fed from creeps seeking money power or fame I wish I

could ignore them all but what is it that that guy keeps saying long week

relax with a glass and let's get after it lots to figure out what do you say

let's get after it's gonna take us two hours to do it so what do you say let's

get after let's get after it I got something better how about let's get

accurate this is an amazing blockbuster story Kilmeade I want you to try to get

your head around it I know it'll be tough for you because you're working all

the time but this is CNN source contradicting what they said to CNN so

somebody's lying do you think this will be on Michael Stellar's reliable sources

I say they have a test pattern then put this on sources

Vladdy Davis is also a crisis expert that's when he wrote a book on yeah so

here's this crisis how do I solve the crisis take responsibility for it I'll

take the heat and I can handle it he also says the reporting got mixed up

through the course of the criminal investigation nope that didn't work I

made a mistake I did not mean to be cute never was says he didn't lie to CNN he

unintentionally misspoke said he has instinct to his instinct this is where

he said about what Cohen knows his instinct was that his client might have

something to say about Muller about hacking but he shouldn't have said

anything that is you're a lawyer this has nothing to do with Cohen it's all

about Hillary Clinton and Lanny Davis Cohen doesn't come up so the question is

is he worried that Michael Cohen put his hand on the Bible and swore that he was

telling the truth and said he had nothing to do with his omit that Trump

knew nothing about this trumped our situation and when he came out and says

now he knows then Cohen suddenly looks less oh he created he committed perjury

so then he had the BACtrack or did he just make it up and Michael Cohen said

you're doing a really bad job I know I'm not paying you but you can't make things

up there's more to this story well you know okay Dana I want to stick to the

CNN thing because why not it's fun that was a that July 26th story CNN said

Larry Davis didn't it didn't make any comment on that so this is from Glenn

Greenwald I'm actually quoting a grand Glenn Greenwald article but no but he's

right CNN said Lanny Davis refused to comment

so either CNN lied to its audience about Davis or Davis is lying now or they were

protecting they was they were trying to protect him at the time they're try to

protect their source and say it wasn't that's why people do disagree with using

background sources but in a case a situation like this then if you're

dealing with people's lives and you know the presidents in terms of

their future judicial or legal problems then people do leak and they do speak on

background the other thing that's happening here is you have both camps

trying to advance their story with the media on background trying to be cute

then they go on the record yeah cable news and they get a little bit

crosswise but I believe cnn's that they're sticking with this yes they are

the stir because maybe they have another source that told them that the story is

true could that source be what is there another lawyer that we're missing out on

Tammy if this were this would be if this were on the other side this would be yet

another smoking gun the media doesn't see this as anything special no and

they're gonna want to make it go away but of course this is why when the

president says fake news everybody goes nuts this is exactly what he's talking

about the use of an individual and this is on the theory of like too good to

check right that they get what they need from their source to move several days

if it was a huge story at the time it was like it was another nail and the

thousand names as you've noted and then they get that that that mileage and they

figured that that's all that they need and they they gin this up in this way

and then it just goes away it floats away but the viewers know it CNN is now

losing their programs to things like ancient aliens

so obviously ancient aliens doing things that CNN won't do and can't do so so

this is what the president complains about it's what you see the crowds at

the at the rallies you know yelling at CNN about it hurts not just Cohen and

this entire process legally but how media is is viewed again it's it's it's

another nail in a coffin but it's not a president Trump's it's a legacy media

and what they're willing to do what I'm just severely just disappointed in the

whole legal world right now these aren't you saddened the legal world yes how

these lawyers are just terrible one Giuliani yeah I would agree I'm way way

way in disagreement with all of you on this one because it seems to me like

you're in the weeds and you're just playing out this tired theme of oh the

right-wing hates the elite mainstream media this is not a

big story intends in terms of CNN says they're standing by their story they say

they have corroboration for the story they've had every opportunity to say hey

we made a mistake in addition to which remember CNN fired reporters when

reporters got an earlier story about Trump wrong so I would think that people

on the right would say huh CNN's not firing anybody in this case they're not

backing off and the one who's saying that he did something wrong is Lanny

Davis Lanny Davis is a stand-up guy here and saying hey I was made stuff he said

he was speculating Brian and he has acknowledged that he is wrong write what

you know by that he was speculating that's what he just saying if you want

to know the important story here the important story was when Cohen stood up

in court and implicated the president in an illegal payoff of a porn stuff

whenever look if you see a crowd of people who are lying at some point about

a variety of issues and then you've got a guy who's been threatened with life in

prison but pledging that he knows something no wonder people don't take it

seriously he could be in jail don't liberals all

the time argue that people will say what and they'll confess the things they've

never done before simply because of the pressure by law enforcement point though

several times and I think Maggie Haberman is reporting the New York Times

at least twice stories broke in legal camp on the president's side have said

not true or the presidency was in fake news or the spokes Bern said not true

then five or six months later you turn oh it actually is true so I think that

the media is being played a little bit by both sides on the on the legal side

of things it's difficult to try these cases in the court of but you know what

the thing is there's one side that definitely wants their story to be true

so they're willing to pay play more fast and loose thank you god bless you and

God bless america

This Is the Engineering You'd Need to Cross the Pacific Ocean | The Swim - Duration: 5:14.

HOW DO YOU EVEN BEGIN TO ENGINEER A VOYAGE AT SEA THAT COULD LAST FOR 7 MONTHS OR MORE?

THE CREW ABOARD SEEKER NEEDED FUEL, SPECIALIZED BATTERY STORAGE,

ALONG WITH ENOUGH FOOD AND FRESH WATER

FOR NINE PEOPLE AND ONE LONG-DISTANCE SWIMMER.

THE CREW WORKED WITH CHIEF ENGINEER RASMUS GORDON, WHO TOOK CHARGE OF EVERYTHING FROM

GENERATING WATER AND POWER, TO FUELING THE SHIP.

Ras: When the ship was originally built, it was built as a racing yacht, but that also

means they don't go to sea for more than a month at a time.

So we have extra fuel bladders added to the ship to double the fuel capacity.

We're still depending on not having to use the main engine a lot because that takes up

five times the amount of fuel as the generator.

BUT WHEN STRONG WINDS AND CURRENTS PUSH THE BOAT OFF-COURSE, SOMETIMES THE CREW HAS NO

CHOICE BUT TO RELY ON THE MAIN ENGINE TO GET BACK ON BEN'S LAST GPS COORDINATES.

FOR ELECTRICITY ON THE BOAT, RASMUS RIGGED A DUAL POWER SYSTEM.

THE MAIN BATTERY BANK, POWERED BY SOLAR PANELS AND WIND GENERATORS, IS USED FOR

LIGHTING AND NON-ESSENTIAL ITEMS.

A SMALLER BANK SUPPORTS THE NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT— A SAFETY PRECAUTION

IN CASE THE MAIN BANK SHOULD EVER FAIL.

THESE BANKS ARE COMPOSED OF "AGM" BATTERIES, WHERE THE ELECTROLYTE, THE CONDUCTIVE

MIXTURE OF WATER AND SULPHURIC ACID INSIDE, IS ABSORBED IN GLASS FIBER.

THIS MEANS THESE BATTERIES ARE RESISTANT TO CORROSION, SPILL PROOF, AND DON'T REQUIRE

VENTILATION—SO THEY ARE PERFECT FOR THE ROUGH CONDITIONS ON SEEKER.

ANOTHER MAJOR ENGINEERING CHALLENGE OF A LONG-TERM SEA VOYAGE

IS THE ABILITY TO MAKE FRESH WATER.

Ras: We have two water makers so we always have one backup if the other one fails, and

we have a lot of spares for the water makers, because that is our most important equipment.

WHILE THE BOAT IS MOVING, THE WATER MAKERS RUN SEA WATER THROUGH TWO FILTERS, REMOVING

ANY DEBRIS AND MICROPLASTICS.

THE LIQUID THEN RUNS PARALLEL TO A REVERSE OSMOSIS MEMBRANE,

CREATING FRESHWATER, WHICH IS ESSENTIAL

FOR MORE THAN JUST DRINKING.

Ras: The thing that really determines how long we can be at sea is our fuel and food capacity.

The fresh water is important because we need it for the cooking,

a lot of the cooking is gonna be freeze-dried food.

When Ben finishes swimming he needs to have a fresh water shower to rinse all the salt off his body

to prevent any damages to his skin.

PLANNING FOR THE FOOD ON BOARD WAS A WHOLE OTHER STORY.

Ty: We bought a lot of this fresh food stuff

but it gets really hot down below and together with the

dampness and the heat is not good for preserving the fresh food.

Maks: Whoa whoa whoa!!

What is that?

Ty: I don't know, honestly I don't know but it's coming out of these potatoes

Ty: We can all agree a potato doesn't usually look like that when you eat it

Maria: Yeah, of course.

Ty: But we're going to eat it.

We waste nothing.

THOUGH THE CREW WERE ABLE TO HAVE FRESH VEGETABLES FOR THE FIRST MONTH AT SEA,

THE BULK OF THEIR MEAL PLAN CENTERS ON USING CANNED AND

FREEZE-DRIED FOODS — COMBINED WITH BASES, LIKE

PASTA AND RICE.

AND IF THE CREW IS LUCKY, THEY ALSO MIGHT HAVE THE OPTION OF FRESH FISH.

Paul: Zero fish in 47 days, and 3 fish in 15 minutes.

Maks: We measure and weigh the fish, for one of the research protocols we're doing, and

then we cut open the stomach, see if there's any plastic inside the stomach.

UNFORTUNATELY, THE CREW DID HAVE TO REMOVE PLASTIC FROM THIS FISH.

IT'S A PRIME EXAMPLE THAT UNDERSCORES JUST HOW IMPORTANT RAISING AWARENESS FOR OCEAN

HEALTH IS, AND THAT ALL THIS CAREFUL PLANNING IS WORTH IT.

Maks: People always think 'oh man you're going to be spending 7 months on a sailing boat?'

'That must be ****ing boring.'

Well it it sometimes repetitive, but there's so much to do so it's never boring.

I haven't been bored so far.

AND WITH GOOD REASON — BECAUSE ALTHOUGH THE CREW CAN FEEL AS PREPARED AS POSSIBLE, THERE

ARE CERTAINLY UNPREDICTABLE CHALLENGES AHEAD.

Maks: "The other night a storm caught us by surprise, some of us got a little bit seasick."

Ben: "I want the motion to just stop."

"Ben there's a shark!" Ty: "Right there!

F me, see it?"

Paul: "So much drama!"

The "Bubble" response type enables you to predefined different choices

your audience can choose from. Those choices can be related to filters. You can do so

by activating "Contact filter" next to the bubble. For example, you can ask

your audience which color they would like for the clothes. You can ask them to choose

between black or yellow. Those who faces this choice will be subscribed to the filter

for instance "Clothes color". If the choose black, they are going to be in the filter

"Clothes color-black" and those who choose yellow are going to be added in

the "clothes color-yellow" filter. You can add up to 9 bubbles at the same time.

Border collie puppy Pua is born with defect that gave him two noses - Duration: 6:13.

This adorable border collie puppy is twice as cute - after it was born with two noses

Five-week-old Pua who is being raised in Gonshall, Surrey and is named after a pig in Disney film Moana, has to be bottle fed every two hours as he cannot suckle

The blue merle collie, who was born to mother Willow and has two brothers and four sisters, has been rapidly socialised due to the amount of human contact he has had

Mother of four Jessica Wheatley, 45, who bred Willow, takes turns getting up in the night with eldest daughter Katie, 16, to feed Pua with a bottle

Mrs Wheatley said: 'I've been breeding puppies for 14 years and I've never seen one like this before

'I'm a hobby breeder and a stay-at-home mum, so I can look after them.'I've been bottle feeding Pua daily every two hours, which means setting a lot of alarms

'I do everything that I can for my puppies.'It is very important to me that they are healthy and their temperament is good

' Mrs Wheatley added: 'We noticed straight away that Pua's nose was deformed. Within an hour of him being born, I was able to pick him up and check him over

'It was just a little line between his nostrils. As I checked it, it became more obvious

'His nose was pink but now there is black pigment coming through.'She described the deformity as 'like a hair lip', with a cleft between his teeth

'There's a cleft in his top jaw and teeth and the teeth are growing towards each other,' Jessica said

'He's too small for operations at the moment.'Unusually, the deformity is considered desirable in some cultures, with some breeds including Double-Nosed Andean Tiger Hounds designed to have two noses

Mrs Wheatley added: 'The people at the vets said they had seen cleft palates but nothing like the nose before

It is not very common.' The family, including Mrs Wheatley's husband Gavin, 48, are unsure whether they will be able to keep Pua, and hope he finds a loving owner

They already have three dogs - Belle, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel, her daughter Frais, a Cavalier - poodle cross, as well as border collie Willow

Mrs Wheatley's four grandchildren love to visit the puppies. She said: 'It is really good for the puppies, to socialise them

'My daughter Katie formed a really strong bond as she helped bottle feed Pua.'All the puppies rush to Willow to feed, but Pua rushes over to us

'He's a very people oriented dog.'While researching the condition, she discovered that there were a couple of breeds of dog which also have two noses

'People thought they made better hunters,' she said.'It is ridiculous but if you look back hundreds of years that's what people thought

'.Mrs Wheatley added: 'If we can't find an excellent home for Pua, we'll have to keep him

'He's healthy but he's going to need some procedures.'They could operate to fix his lip and nose together but that's purely cosmetic, and a couple of things he needs which are necessary

'The puppies are lovely and I adore breeding, and seeing them go off to new homes, knowing that they're bringing joy to someone else

The "default response" is a message sent to your audience when the bot doesn't

understand a request. If you never encoded the question asked

in "Automation", the chatbot will not be able to understand it. The default answer

allows you to keep your customer by asking him to wait a little bit until

a human takes over the bot to answer the request. Here is an example of default answer

"Uuuh...So sorry but I don't get that! I'm just a bot you know, nobody's perfect

I guess! I'm gonna call someone. Would you mind waiting a little bit?"

10/26 What is a "send to admin"? | CHATBOT PLUS tutorials 💬 - Duration: 0:47.

When the plug in "send to admin" is implemented in a certain place in the

conversation, it orders the bot to send the administrator of the bot the message

you want. It can be useful when you combine it with a filter. For example,

if your chatbot detects that a customer is not happy with his purchase, you can

first subscribe this person to the filter "Unsatisfied customer" and then,

send a message to the admin alerting him that an unsatisfied customer is chatting right now!

It allows the admin to take over the conversation and solve

the problem in a more personalized way.

Congress Just Did What Trump Couldn't – Jeff Sessions Is DONE - Duration: 12:42.

GOP lawmakers have had enough of Attorney General Jeff Sessions nonsense

so they are finally taking action against him the gateway pundit reported

that freedom caucus chairman mark meadows RNC and his fellow GOP

representative Jim Jordan Oh are giving sessions Department of Justice seven

days to turn over the documents that they owe to Congress Jordan announced on

Wednesday afternoon that he is teaming meadows to introduce a resolution that

would give the DOJ one week to comply mark meadows and I are introducing a

resolution that would give the DOJ seven days to turn over the documents that

they owe Congress we need to vote on this immediately Jordan announced on

Twitter Jordan then called out sessions Deputy Attorney General rod Rosenstein

rod Rosen Stein threatened congressional staff when the bully picks on your

little brother you have to respond it's time for House leadership to stand up

jordan tweeted this will also send a brutal message to sessions who has

defended rosen sign by saying that he does not believe he actually threatened

staffers on Tuesday night after hearing the sessions defended his Deputy

Attorney General Meadows said that he is confident sessions didn't know what he

was talking about we're fed up with it Meadows said Republicans have clearly

had enough of sessions and with even President Donald Trump turning against

him it seems like his days in the Department of Justice may be numbered

share this story if you want to see Jeff Sessions stab down president Trump's

recent tough talk aimed at Jeff Sessions is producing some distressing headlines

in the mainstream media press such as this one in the Washington Post critics

feared Trump's attacks are doing lasting damage to the justice system really

joining me for a debate are Professor Charles Kesler with the Claremont

Institute and attorney John R Yan he started jihad Ronis

I really do appreciate you gentlemen being here tonight like Donald Trump was

elected to be a disruptive president right I mean he was elected to come in

and not do the status quo now some would obviously argue with maybe some of his

tactics his tweets his aggressive nature but that was wasn't he I mean that is

what he was elected to do was it not a J and I want to give you the first first

stab at this well I don't recall anybody suggesting that he was elected to be the

disruptive president that he's become quite frankly he's ahead of the he's

ahead of government he's ahead of the executive branch he's in his vitriol and

criticizing for example law enforcement judges prosecutors intelligence services

and the way which he does it this does not advance the cause of democracy we

are the most civil ordered government on earth we are and we've been taught to be

proud of our government we should be we have a wonderful government but for the

president the single-handedly criticized the people that have worked for him in

the manner which he does advances nothing I mean look what he did how he

embarrassed Rex Tillerson look how he's he's integrated Jeff Sessions look how

he suggested the intelligence services the law enforcement agencies the

prosecutors around the country have been engaging in conspiracies this does not

advance the cause of the democracy we've been taught to expect out of a president

it's right Charles what's your take on this well the president has a duty to

take care that the laws be faithfully executed that means he's in charge of

the whole executive branch he and he alone is has the power and the duty to

judge the performance of his Attorney General and of his intelligence agencies

he alone has the ability to classify material to declassify it and to grant

Maris's for people in his administration and even people like John Brennan in

previous administrations it seems to me he's doing his job yeah Charles he was

supposed to change the political norms is he doing that is that a good thing or

a bad thing in your book well I think it depends on what the norms are many great

strong presidents have in norm breakers from Andrew Jackson to

Abraham Lincoln in his own way to Harry Truman to FDR it's not unusual for

presidents to change the way they do the job because the the job of president

doesn't come with a manual a how-to manual and it has to adjust to the

personality and the times of the occupants and as long as he remains

faithful to the Constitution and to the common good so the president gets to

make up a lot of his his own job requirements and performance so Jan do

you believe that the resistance movement no matter what the President does no

matter what the president says we're gonna resist it all levels we're gonna

go after this my words not somebody else's a scorched-earth type of

philosophy that says we can't let anybody have any victory in any place do

you really think that that's resonating with the American people because the

economy's been getting better and I think on foreign policy you can argue

it's a much safer place than it was when that from the time Donald Trump took

over well I'm not suggesting I think quite frankly Donald Trump has been his

own worst enemy I mean look he came and he came into the office having an

opportunity to be a really great president but the the manner in which

he's taken to electronic means of communication to dinner gracious a

resistance movement yeah I mean the Democrats on the other side of the aisle

say we're gonna resist at everything and we're going to have this scorched earth

philosophy is that effective in communicating you're gonna be critical

of Donald Trump right for being a vitriolic type of personality and you

know these mean tweets the resistance movement I mean let's go pick on you

know yell at people while they're eating dinner is that really what you think is

gonna be the winning formula for tonight I don't think that it that you ought to

resist every effort of the president I say just as I thought the Republicans

should not have resisted as they did everything that that President Obama

proposed during his presidency we didn't say that that's not true I've seen

listen even even I believe the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell vowed

that he was never going to let President Obama have any success the Democrats

have not been there yzma bastok and their opposition to

Donald Trump as the as Republicans were with President Obama that's funniest

thing I've heard tonight but I really do appreciate you gentlemen coming to join

us tonight but that is just absolutely not true thank you gentlemen both I

appreciate it and we're back with Congressman darrell

Issa republican of california and congressman we were just talking about

jeff sessions the Attorney General moments ago and you said Jeff sessions

is the only one who can do this to to to right this wrong ship but he's not doing

it should the president fire Jeff Sessions

congressman I think the president has an obligation to make it clear and I think

he's done that that Jeff Sessions has to step up to the plate and do his job he's

ordered open and transparent communication in other words give

Congress the documents they're asking for in the most unredacted way possible

and what he's done is allowed the bureaucrats to slow walk us and give us

documents that look like a black cow eating a licorice at midnight they're

just all blacks that's right and that's that's unacceptable and so when the

president rightfully so says that if Jeff Sessions won't do it then the

president will in fact use his authority to clear the classified request and the

attorney-client privilege and the presidential prerogatives out of the way

and make it available and this is something that needs to be done of

course you need to make sure that if somebody life is at risk that you

protect them but after that the rest of it really is the president saying he

wants to be open and transparent and every one of his cabinet officers needs

to heed that and provide that kind of information quickly yeah well why

wouldn't he Disick Lassa fie these documents congressman you know when I

asked him that when I interviewed the president in July of this year he said

well some people are saying don't do it you know they don't want me to get

involved in that of course we know that the special counsel is trying to look

for any obstruction but why would that be obstruction wouldn't that just be

shining a light on things making it more transparent what's the downside risk

well one of the interesting things is of course the special prosecutor gets

everything completely unredacted we're only asking to - quite frankly look over

his shoulder and look over the shoulder of other

investigations that should occur understand the president inherited an a

a system that likes to give no-one anything I often say that the most

highly classified thing there is anywhere in Washington is embarrassment

and so often it's it's what they don't want you to know because they don't want

you to they don't want to be embarrassed it's not real classification the book

the president is doing the right thing exactly the opposite of President Obama

he's saying make an open and transparent when Jeff Sessions was a senator he

certainly would have said I want the information he in fact maybe not as

quickly as John McCain made the moral argument that we needed to know about

Benghazi and prevent that from happening again right and he demanded documents

now he needs to be on the other side saying Congress has an absolute right

the American people have a right and he needs to lead that or get out of the way

and when I say get out of the way he somebody has to replace him that will do

it if he won't well you said that the special counsel gets to see everything

unredacted you know a lot of people have been making the point that recently me

included that the special counsels investigation will not have credibility

unless he looked at everything both sides I mean we know that Hillary

Clinton and the DNC paid upwards of a million dollars for that dossier they

spent the money on the dossier then they used the dossier to get a warrant to

wiretap they did not they did not tell the FISA Court that the DNC and Hillary

Clinton paid that million dollars for it and yet you know we haven't heard a word

about this from the Special Counsel Ken Robert Muller continue this

investigation without looking at the FISA process and what took place in 2016

well I think a way to put it I and agree with you is rod Rosenstein needs to give

specific instructions that says you can and should do that and if he isn't

willing to do it we have to look to his own culpability in that and that false

FISA warrant that he had a part in he's a witness let me switch gears real quick

congressman and ask you about China and trade because really stunning

developments on Friday when the president decided to stop Mike Mike

Pompeo from going to North Korea for this planned trip and then talked about

how China is not where he thought they should be

in terms of trade where are we in this battle with China right now you know the

the way you get a deal whether it's a national security deal with North Korea

and their nuclear weapons or a trade deal that begins to give some level of

fairness from China is you've got to be willing to walk away from it the

president is the master of the art of the deal he wants to be there he clearly

will will turn Mike around Mike Pompeo around the secretary in in ours if

there's an opportunity but he's not going to send them there just to have a

pretty portrait of people shaking hands and I think that's the difference in

this negotiator is the deal's off if you're not making progress the deals

back on quickly if you are he's done it before he can do it again but Maria the

thing that I think the American people have to understand is although trade is

a national security issue you cannot continue to give away

hundreds of billions of dollars of the American people's hard-earned money to

China just because China has a bad actor that periodically will misbehave and

they use it as leverage and that's exactly what China continues to do it's

true and they won't even admit that they're taking the IP and that they're

stealing so much technology from the US and forcing the the transfer of text so

we'll see if this strategy works in terms of changing China's behavior we

love having you answer please come back soon great to see accomplishment thank

you
