Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are extremely excited at the potential of enjoying a trophy-winning

season after being the biggest spenders in the league.

This season, the Reds look destined to challenge Manchester City for the title, despite the

Citizens storming to the title 25 points ahead of Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp took Liverpool to the Champions League final last year as well as finishing

4th so improvements will be hard to make this season.

However, with the intent they've shown in the transfer market, the Reds seem determined

to improve.

One mistake from the transfer window however though for Liverpool was not signing Nabil

Fekir, who would have been the attacking flair and midfield maestro the Reds have been missing

ever since Coutinho left.

The £54 million-rated Frenchman is a top class player that really would have asserted

Liverpool as strong contenders for the title alongside Man City.

Fekir was heavily linked but reportedly failed a medical, ending all hope of bringing him

to Anfield this summer.

Liverpool have employed two top midfielders in Naby Keita and Fabinho so their options

have most definitely been boosted,

but with that added attacking flair of Nabil Fekir as well and Liverpool would have had

one of the best midfields not only in the league but quite possibly world football.

Last season the 25-year-old scored 23 goals in 40 total appearances, as well as providing

8 assists.

Those statistics are mouth-watering and it really is no surprise Liverpool tried to sign

him.

The deal falling through was a big disappointment and especially if the Frenchman has another

strong season, the Reds will regret not pushing harder.

  Cabinet ministers are eating at dining tables that cost more than a small car.

Public works officials have been summoned to tell parliament's standing committee on public accounts about the hefty prices of furniture used at ministers' homes.

One invoice, seen by the Sunday Times and sent to public works by Huracãn, the company contracted to supply furniture, includes a R100,800 dining room rug, R25,200 for a child's bed headboard, four scatter cushions for a child's bedroom at R861 each, totalling R3,444, and R18,900 for a guest room chair.

Another document, drawn up by officials, gives details of the cost to furnish the main bedroom in a minister's house in Pretoria.

It includes a mahogany dining table for R84,000, 10 dining chairs totalling R157,000, R63,000 for a mahogany king-size bed and R44,100 for two three-drawer mahogany pedestals.

The revelations come after the department admitted to parliament this week it had three houses in Cape Town kitted out with braai areas costing  R500,000.

Director-general Sam Vukela told Scopa that the department had spent more than R30m in buying five houses.

The houses included one in Pretoria worth R9m.

This was in spite of the department having more than 100 other houses in its asset register.

Tributes from ex-presidents to world leaders pour in for late U.S. Senator John McCain - Duration: 1:29.

Tributes have been flooding in for the late U.S. Senator John McCain, who died over the

weekend after losing his battle with brain cancer.

Ro Aram has more.

Former presidents and politicians have been leading the tributes for the long-time Republican.

Ex-President Barack Obama, who beat McCain to the White House in 2008, issued a statement,

saying all should aspire to McCain's courage to put the greater good above our own.

Obama added that despite their differences, they shared a "fidelity to something higher."

George W. Bush described him as a man of deep conviction and a patriot of the highest order.

Jimmy Carter said Americans will be ever grateful for the Vietnam veteran's heroic military

service and for his steadfast integrity as a member of the U.S. Senate.

Fellow politicians and current President Donald Trump also expressed their condolences via

social media.

McCain was one of Trump's harshest critics throughout his campaign and presidency.

Tributes also came in from world leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel,

British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Barack Obama and George W. Bush are expected to give eulogies at a funeral at Washington

National Cathedral.

McCain's family is reported to have said they do not want President Trump to attend.

Vice President Mike Pence is expected to represent the White House instead.

Neighbours legend Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns) left the soap earlier this year after being imprisoned for murdering his father Hamish Roche (Sean Taylor).

The Neighbours cast member was given 20 years in prison, and transferred to Adelaide, leaving his girlfriend Piper Willis (Mavournee Hazel) devastated.

But after the shocking revelation that Cassius Grady (Joe Davidson) was really the one who killed Hamish, fans are desperate to see Tyler return.

And it looks like it could be set to happen, as Travis himself has hinted he could be about head back to Erinsborough.
