OBESSU stands for Organizing Bureau of European School Student Unions.

We are the European representative organisation for school students from all over Europe.

Founded in 1975 by representative organisations from five different countries,we've grown

bigger each year.

Our organisation is based in Brussels, where we have a secretariat working full time.

The core values of OBESSU are to promote equal access to education and to

strive for the end of all discrimination and injustice within the educational systems;

to contribute to the development of democratic educational systems in Europe, that promote

active citizenship in all forms; to promote solidarity and understanding between

young people; to promote new teaching methods in learning

and promote healthy teaching environment.

Throughout the year, a lot is happening within our organisation.

Our work focuses on two main areas;

Firstly, there is policy and advocacy As we're the representative organisation

for school students on a European level, a lot of our work is focusing on advocating

for school students right towards the European institutions such as the European Commission,

European Parliament and Council of Europe.

Secondly, there is community and capacity building.

Each year we focus a lot on our membership.

We organise training courses, study sessions and other activities to build capacity for

our members within specific fields of education.

Our organisation is build up by a lot of different structures.

The core of our organisation is our members who meet biannually for our General Assembly

and Council of Members.

The Board and the Monitoring Committee is elected at the General Assembly.

The Monitoring Committee's job is to monitor the Board and make sure the organisation is

run in accordance with the Work Plan, Statutes etc.

The Board is the governing body of the organisation.

Besides these two, we also have a Pool of Trainers.

This is a group of experienced trainers who help out planning and delivering our events,

but is also available to help our members with their events and campaigns.

Furthermore we occasionally have different Working Groups on specific topics such as

Vocational Education and Training, Student Wellbeing and Mental Health.

They are working for a specific period of time on a specific task - such as carrying

out a research, campaign formulating a policy etc.

EMELIE IS SUFFERING - Vemdalen Fjällmaraton 2018 - Duration: 13:00.

It's Wednesday and we start the vlog week again.

I trained two distance workouts yesterday

and today I'm going to do a hard interval session.

My plan is to use this uphill beside my apartment.

6*3 minutes and start

down there and all the way up.

It continues after the curve

so it should take 3 minutes.

It's a pretty good uphill for diagonal stride

but I`m not sure how it is in high speed.

Maybe I should put new wheels on

with resistance 4.

I have 3/4 on now so

I have not decided yet

if I should put

these wheels on for slower speed but

I think 3/4 should be enough.

I need to think about it.

The time is 9 and I will start at 9:30.

The session don't take that long

about 1,5 h so

I start later so the lunch won't be to early.

Pretty sure it will be a hard workout.

The plan is to do shorter

intervals so you can push really hard and

work with high lactic acid.

Close to your max

like sprint training.

I stick to my 3/4.

It can be good to train on easier wheels

to keep the frequency up.

I will warm up with a shorter and easier interval

and then start with the 3 minutes intervals.

Toilsome!

It was hard.

Short intervals are tough

when you need to push and push all the time.

Good to train on that to.

You need to mix short and long intervals

to train on

different intensities and

manage to stay on a higher pace during a shorter time.

Some warm down and then we are done

with the first workout today.

Todays last workout

did

35-40 minutes of strength training

and now I'm going to skate for 1,5 h.

A shorter and easier workout.

I'm a bit tired now

but that's not so strange when you have done

intervals in the morning and a strength training session before this.

I can understand that I'm a bit tired now.

30 minutes left

on todays training.

A good day with training.

Has worked fine.

I can barley get a nicer morning.

Completely windless

around 10 degrees Celsius.

On days like this you need to take the opportunity.

Bright!

I will train around 2 h.

2,5 h maybe if it feels good.

It will be nice.

Do something different then roller skiing.

Its been a while since I paddled.

Did a short session last week

but before that we were on training camp I Sollefteå.

Let's start.

Done

Almost got cold in the end.

It splashes water and you get wet

Will be nice with a shower.

The plan was to have an easy and chill workout but

always ends up pushing hard here and there any way.

I look at the watch and sees what pace I have every 500 m

and then you think ''I want to be under a certain amounts of minutes''.

It's easy to push to hard sometimes and realize ''oh yes... I was supposed to take it easier''.

But I guess it's not the end of the world if I pushed hard here and there.

It's Friday afternoon and I'm on Vemdalsskalet.

I did one session today in the morning.

A skate interval session.

So I had a bit of an easier day today with only one tough workout.

Anyway, tomorrow on Saturday it's the Vemdalen trail marathon.

The thought was that I would be able to run but

running isn't the best for my back at the moment.

Especially not competing in 25 km.

So there's no meaning to participate.

It's rather unnecessary to risk anything, considering my back.

Sad enough I've to pass this year's edition of Vemdalen trail running 2018.

But now I'm here for the childrens mini trail marathon.

They do it one day earlier.

They'll start in about 15 min.

06:20 PM

I'll be here cheering and also hand out the prices in the end.

But I'll also be back here tomorrow though Emelie will run the 25K.

So I'll be cheering and coaching her.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1

Run!

Away they go. Big applause!

I almost got over-run.

I think we should cheer for them.

Hurray, hurray, hurray, hurray!

Let give these three and all the other girls whom run a big applause.

Welcome back next year.

Then we're done with the award ceremony.

A lot of kids were fast today.

They fought well in the rain.

Now it's clearing up just enough until we all are about to go home.

I hope the weather'll be a bit better tomorrow

when I'll be acting coach for Emelie.

I'm about to pick up her number and chip now

then I'm going home.

So I'll see you here again tomorrow.

Stop it. I don't feel well.

You're not feeling well?

Why?

I feel bad.

Nervous?

I'm about to suffer.

As usually.

That's good!

No!

Stop!

Are you going to win?

No.

Why?

I don't have those ambitions.

I'm going to roller ski up to Vemdalsskalet here from Åsarna.

Emelie and Emil are driving there a bit earlier since they're running.

I'll not be able to see the start.

I won't make it in time.

The start is 09:15 AM

But the finish and

some other parts of the race I'll be able to see.

I don't really now how long time it'll take me.

Maybe...

2 hours or 2,5.

So it'll be a nice classic roller skiing session up to Vemdalsskalet

See you there.

I've arrived to Vemdalsskalet.

36 km and 2 hours and 10 minutes.

So now I'm going to see where they've parked.

Take a shower and then get out there and cheer.

See if I can get anything filmed.

The leader of the male class is Viktor Svensk right now.

Johan Olsson is second.

Let see how it goes for Emelie.

She is...She's fifth.

Keep on going.

The winner of 25K in the male class is...

Viktor Svensk.

Second place, Johan Olsson.

I have cramp everywhere.

What?

I've cramp everywhere.

I almost didn't make it to the finish line.

Signing up to this only one week before is not a good idea.

I can see Emelie.

Come on, sprint!

Awesome!

Was it tough?

I don't think I can stand properly.

You run fast this year.

I think she's a bit tired.

She can't even stand.

Is it good to finally have finished?

Never felt so good.

You did well.

Have you shit your pants, Emil?

No...

You walk so funny.

This, this is life.

What?

This!

Are you guys happy?

Nice it's over, huh?

Yes!

I'll not do this again.

Let's go home.

Jump in.

Are you tired?

No, not really.

I feel pretty fresh.

I'm not in any pain at all.

Then you didn't push yourself enough.

But please...

Nope, that's how it is.

Today it's Sunday evening.

A good training week has come to an end.

I did skate in the morning.

A distance session

and MTB now in the afternoon.

A good week of training.

Next week we're going to do some training days in Östersund.

We'll be doing intervals with the Ski Team of Sweden.

It'll be some tough days in Östersund.

Wednesday and Thursday.

Actually this vlog is suppose to come up today but

I've been thinking to publish it on Mondays instead.

I don't have the time to make subtitles the same day.

The idea is to finish the vlog on Sundays and

then have the Monday to make subtitles before I publish it.

Don't have that much to add.

A part from saying goodbye.

Thank you for watching another vlog.

Keep it up.

Like and

comment if you feel like it and

subscribe to my channel.

I appreciate it.

Thank you all.

See you next week.

Goodbye!

General Michael Hayden: There Is No Other Side - Duration: 1:28.

- I spent 39 years in America's Air Force.

I was the Director of the National Security Agency.

For the last three years,

I was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

I spent most of that time trying to prevent threats

from the outside coming in

but now we see more Americans dying violently

here in the United States.

We've had more Americans killed in high schools

in this country in the last year

than have been killed in Afghanistan.

I've seen the effects of violence.

There are some weapons out there that frankly,

nobody should have access to.

And actually, there are some people out there

who should never have access to any weapons.

No one's challenging the right

of the American people to keep and bear arms.

That heritage which I deeply respect

doesn't require us to be unintelligent about this.

When you witness some of the things

that have happened in our society,

the innocents being killed,

I've gotta say as a veteran,

there is no other side to this argument.

Is It Bad to Put Ice In Your Drink? - Duration: 8:04.

Is It Bad to Put Ice In Your Drink?

When summer arrives we want to cool down ad get rid of the heat any way we can.

One of these ways is to consume an ice-cold drink.

If there are no more in the fridge or freezer, then we choose to put ice in our drink.

Problem solved!.

Did you know this isn't a good idea? In this article, we tell you the reasons why you shouldn't put ice cubes in your drinks.

Dirty ice means a contaminated drink.

There have been several investigations to determine if ice cubes, which are very popular in summer, are good for our health.

The results were chilling: in most fast food establishments and "trendy" cafes, the water used to make ice was filled with bacteria (in doses similar to those found in the restrooms of the same premises).

Are we comparing toilet water to the ice in drinks served at a chain of restaurants? Yes.

And the worst of all is that toilets are cleaned more often than the ice machines.

The heads of these multinational chains have suggested that the possible discovery of this bacteria is due to human contamination.

That is, those who use the machines and the cubes are the same employees who also clean the restrooms.

These employees are also in contact with the money and clean the floor, but don't wash their hands.

Laboratory tests didn't show any serious contamination in the beverages of these establishments.

However, the truth is that the levels of bacteria were higher than what is considered "normal".

It's good to keep in mind that the problem is not the water that the ice is made with, which in all cases is drinkable.

Instead, it's the proliferation of bacteria in the machine or the hands of those who serve the drinks.

Perhaps bacteria entering the body through soft drinks isn't a problem for a healthy person.

However, it may be an issue for certain groups such as children, elderly and individuals with weak immune system.

Another problem that you must take into account are trips to countries or cities where water isn't safe to drink.

Exotic destinations in Africa, Asia and South America don't have proper sanitation.

Hence, the water is likely is likely to come from polluted rivers, lakes, streams or reservoirs.

In this particular case, we recommend that you don't consume ice cubes at all.

It's better to consume a warm drink than spend several days locked in your hotel because you have diarrhea, stomach cramps and vomiting.

And this is the best case scenario.

What if I prepare the ice?.

We can rely on a scientific study on what happens in restaurants and cafeterias.

But what if we don't eat at those places? Instead, we may put ice in our glass that comes from our own freezer.

What would be the problem in this case?.

It's almost the same as in a food establishment.

When you put the water into the cube maker: did you wash your hands? And were you hands clean when you put the cubes in the glass? Believe it or not, the situation is quite similar.

And that's not all.

If you haven't cleaned the ice dispenser in the refrigerator or the ice cube tray, it's likely that mold has grown in them.

This will then go into the bucket, from there to the drink and, finally, into your body.

It's important to make sure the ice cube tray is clean just like your hands before pouring the water into it.

Wash your hands to avoid transferring any germs or bacteria when preparing ice cubes and before serving them.

If you meet all hygiene requirements when preparing and placing ice cubes in your glass, there's less chance of introducing microorganisms that are harmful to your health.

However, there's still something else worth considering when it comes to rethinking about consuming drinks that are too cold: irritation in the throat and vocal cords.

If the first thing you do is drink soda, juice or a glass of cold water (from the fridge or with ice cubes) when you get home feeling very hot, you can later suffer from a sore throat or even dysphonia.

Cold drinks versus hot drinks: which ones win?.

Something really interesting about putting ice in your drink is that this involves the intake of cold liquids in the body (especially in the stomach).

It has been confirmed that the consumption of water with ice or water that's almost frozen during the meals produces indigestion.

That's why East Asians consume warm green tea instead of cold juice or soda.

The blood vessels contract when you consume cold liquids.

This increases the production of mucus in the body and this stops proper hydration.

This is another point against using ice cubes in your drinks.

Instead, by drinking warm liquids like tea, the intestines move better, digestion ends faster, the blood is purified and the kidneys detoxify the body.

Lastly, you must know that consuming something warm or hot when you eat helps your body to better digest the fats you are ingesting.

This prevents them from solidifying on the walls of the stomach.

We advise drinking tea when the menu includes vegetable or animal fats, such as oils, nuts, meat, egg yolk or butter.

The Answer Is Time - Duration: 3:23.

What goes on forever?

Time is something that never ends.

It never stops no matter how much we want it to.

What is irreversible?

Time and what you choose to do with it cannot be

taken back.

Every moment that passes is now a part of history

and everything keeps moving forward.

What do you probably not manage well?

Time can be hard to manage

and it's incredibly easy to procrastinate.

Playing video games even though you need to finish your homework.

Browsing Instagram when you should be getting ready for bed.

Watching YouTube videos even though you have a project to finish.

Whatever it is, you're probably not managing your time as well as you could.

What is priceless?

Time is no commodity.

You can't buy it, sell it, trade it or barter for it

but what you can do is use it more efficiently.

You can make schedules to plan ahead or lead a healthier life to have more time

alive but you can't just head to the store

and pick up a couple more hours in the day.

What only goes one way?

Time only goes one direction.

Forward, never backwards.

If you can somehow do that then you've probably discovered a time machine and that

would be amazing.

What is based on perception?

Time is affected by who or what experiences it.

Their mass and their metabolic rate.

Put simply, big things seem slow to small things

and small things seem fast to big things.

What do people wish they could change?

Time would be splendid if we could manipulate it

and bend it to our desire but unfortunately, it doesn't work like

that.

What you can do is plan ahead and make changes now to prepare for the future.

What could we all use more of?

Time there's only 24 hours of it every day but

imagine having more.

Living 140 years instead of 80.

Imagine all the extra activities you could do with that time.

You could sleep longer, play more games spend more time with your friends and family

who you're probably not spending enough time with

by the way.

You could finish all your homework or at least feel better about procrastinating

on it Even if it's just for dumb things, we could

all use more time What is relative?

Time is not a constant thing.

It can be manipulated by gravity and it runs slower when there's more of it.

So if you're in a place like Space you're gonna age faster

than if you'd stayed on Earth.

What affects everyone in the world?

Time has affected everything since the beginning

of well, time.

Regardless of who you are, where you're from

time influences you all the time.

We all age and we all experience time throughout our lives

and it continues affecting people even past the end of our lives.

But it's not the end of your life yet.

If you're watching this video, you still have time.

Make the most of it.

And that's how the answer is time.
