Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward could be the league's unluckiest player
Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward admitted this week he was missing not playing first team
football and he is right to feel aggrieved.
Ward, 24, was the hero for Huddersfield Town last season as the Terriers clinched a shock
promotion.
The on loan stopper helped Huddersfield win a semi-final penalty shootout against Sheffield
Wednesday, the highlight of an outstanding season in Yorkshire.
Unfortunately for Ward he was denied the opportunity to follow it up.
Liverpool did not loan him back to Huddersfield or sell him, and the Terriers bought German
stopper Jonas Lossl, who has been impressive.
Ward was denied the opportunity to move entirely, and has barely even made the Liverpool's substitutes
bench.
It is easy to see why Ward will be frustrated.
Last season he was playing every week, and had huge success.
This campaign he is sitting watching from the stands, while Liverpool goalkeepers Simon
Mignolet and Loris Karius fail to convince.
Ward might just be the league's unluckiest player based on his current predicament and
most recent achievements, and desperately needs a move away from Anfield.
