Hey there!

My name is Michael Lockyear and this is Finance MasterClass.

In today's video we will be answering the question:

"What is the Price-Earnings Ratio?"

The Price-Earnings ratio is a financial ratio used to value a company and is often discussed

in the financial media.

It is sometimes referred to as the P/E ratio;

Price-to-earnings ratio; or Earnings multiple...

The ratio shows the relationship between a company's share price and its earnings per

share for a 12 months period.

If a company has a P/E ratio of 5, it means that it will take 5 years for the company's

earnings per share to cover the price of the stock.

Let us have a look, at a simple example:

We buy a single share in a company at a market price of 10 dollars per share.

If the company has one hundred thousand shares, the market value of the equity is 1 million

dollars.

This is referred to as the market capitalisation of the company.

If this company earns an annual profit of one hundred thousand dollars, the company's

earnings per share will be one dollar.

If we compare the earnings per share, to the current price of the stock, we can see that

it will take 10 years for the company's earnings per share to cover the current share

price.

There are two commonly used versions of the P/E ratio:

The forward P/E ratio; and The trailing P/E ratio.

The forward P/E ratio is based on projected or estimated future earnings.

While the trailing P/E ratio uses the published earnings per share information from the four

most recent quarters.

This is the most common form of the ratio.

The financial information published by listed companies typically discloses 2 types of earnings

per share: Basic earnings per share, calculated using

the weighted average number of shares in issue during the period; and

Diluted earnings per share, which takes into account the dilutive effect of share options

and similar rights.

The correct earnings per share number to use when calculating the trailing P/E ratio is

the diluted earnings per share.

What if a company is operating at a loss?

If a company is not earning a profit, the P/E ratio cannot be calculated.

The P/E ratio should not be used be used in isolation, but should rather be part of a

broader analysis.

A company may have a very high P/E ratio because investors believe that big income opportunities

lie in the future, or it may simply have a very strong balance sheet.

Similarly, a company with a low P/E ratio may be a hidden gem, or it may simply have

bad prospects.

Always dig deeper to try understand why the P/E ratio of a company, is what it is.

AT WHAT POINT DOES THIS SOUND LIKE OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE?

TRUMP WOULD PRIVATELY AND SUBL CLEE TRY TO IMPEDE AND CHANGE

THE OUTCOME IN THE INVESTIGATION.

THE CURRENT EVIDENCE WOULDN'T MAKE THAT CASE, BUT WHEN HE TOLD

OUR OWN LESTER HOLT THAT HE THINKS HE CAN SPEED UP OR SLOW

DOWN THE INVESTIGATION, THAT HE BELIEVES HE IS INN CHARGE OF AN

INVESTIGATION OF HIS OWN AIDES HE SHOWED EITHER COMPLETE

MISUNDERSTANDING OF HOW THIS WORKS OR WORSE THE BELIEF THAT

HE COULD DO THAT KIND OF IMPEDING.

SO HE IS GETTING CLOSER TO THE LINE.

>> IT CERTAINLY SEEMS THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP IS SEEKING TO

SEW A CLIMATE OF PARANOIA AND CONFUSION INSIDE HIS OWN WHITE

HOUSE. EVERYBODY WHO NOW WALKS IN THOSE

GATES ON PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE HAS TO WONDER IF THEIR CONVERSATIONS

ARE GOING TO BE RECORDED AND THAT DOESN'T JUST INCLUDE

VISITORS, THAT INCLUDES MEMBERS OF THE WHITE HOUSE STAFF WHO

HAVE TO BE WONDERING WHETHER OR NOT THEIR CONVERSATIONS ARE

BEING TAPED. THIS IS A MANAGEMENT STYLE, IF

YOU CAN CALL IT THAT, THAT PRESIDENT TRUMP FOUND TO BE

COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY, THEY JUST NEED TO GO BACK TO THE

BASICS AND START TELLING THE TRUTH.

THEN WE GO TO WEDNESDAY, WE GET ONE EXPLANATION ABOUT THE MOTIVE

FOR THE FIRING. ON THURSDAY THAT EXPLANATION

SHIFTS. FRIDAY THE PRESIDENT MAKES

THAT -- YOU KNOW, WHAT SOME HAVE CHARACTERIZED AS A THREAT TO THE

FORMER FBI DIRECTOR. WOULD YOU SAY EVEN BY TRUMP

STANDARDS THIS WAS AN EXTRAORDINARY FIVE DAYS?

I THINK DONALD TRUMP IS A GOOD COMMUNITY KARAT.

HE WANTS EVERYONE THINKING ABOUT THE DIALOGUE.

SO THERE'S THE TAPES, THERE'S THE DINNER, THERE'S WILL HE OR

WON'T HE CANCEL PRESS BRIEFINGS. WE ARE AT A POINT WHERE IT'S

IMPORTANT TO FOCUS ON THE PLOT. AS YOU OUTLINED THE PLOT IS THE

MIDSTREAM FIRING OF AN FBI DIRECTOR FOR A STATED AREN THAT

THEY HAVE NOW ADMITTED IS FALSE. THAT RAISES QUESTIONS FOR

AMERICANS, NOT ON A POLITICAL BASIS BUT ON THE BASIS OF THE

RULE OF LAW IF THE FIRST REASON WAS FALSE WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THE

SECOND AND DO YOU WANT TO FACT CHECK IT BECAUSE THERE'S A

POSSIBILITY THAT IF THE PERSON WAS FIRED FOR THE WRONG REASON

IT COULD COMPROMISE THE RULE OF LAW.

Tres Leches Cake | How to Make a Tres Leches Cake - Duration: 4:42.

hey everyone it's James from fun foods and

today I'm going to make this tres leche

cake which means three melt cake in

Spanish now I've never had this cake

before but so many of you have requested

that make it so I decided to do that so

keep watching and I'll show you step by

step how to make this now the first

thing you wanna do is start with a

medium bowl and one and a half cups of

flour also one teaspoon of baking powder

and you just want to whisk this all

together

and just take this bowl set it aside

we'll come right back to it next in a

large bowl we have a half a cup of

butter this is softened butter and

we'll add to that one cup of sugar and

I'm just going to cream this together

okay after thats creamed together we are

going to start adding our eggs there's

five eggs here I'm going to add just

like two at a time then we can add one

teaspoon of vanilla extract

now we can bring back our flour mixture

and we're going to add a little bit at a

time not too much about the quarter of

it

now take a 13 by 9 inch pan and grease

it and then turn your batter out into

the pan and just spread it out evenly

now just take this put this in the oven

at 350 degrees for about a half-hour now

what we need to do is have a medium bowl

I'm going to add to that two cups of

whole milk and twelve ounces of

evaporated milk and 14 ounces of

sweetened condensed milk you can just

combine all this mix it up really good

and this is going to be our milk mixture

now we just take this set this aside for

a minute when your cake is done baking

now just let it cool completely and then

next what we're going to do is take a

fork we're just going to pierce it and

we're going to go pretty deep in every

couple inches and that's pretty good now

we're just going to take our milk

mixture we're going to slowly pour that

over top of the cake and just let it seep in

to make our frosting we're going to need

a large bowl we're going to need a cup

and a half of heavy whipping cream

you're also going to need about a

teaspoon of vanilla extract we just want

to whisk this up on high and after about

a man you want to start slowly adding

some sugar to it so I have a cup of

sugar but I'm only gonna add about half

at a time and this is going to be our

frosting it should be nice fluffy and of

course a frosting texture now we come

back to our cake and all that milk has

seeped into our cake really good so it

should be nice and moist as you can see

if you just touch it now we're just

going to spread the frosting across the

top now I'm going to decorate this with

some maraschino cherries well now it's

time to taste that I'm going to give

this a try I've never had it before but

people have said it's amazing so here

goes nothing

it's good it has the moistness of the

cake with all those layers of milk in

there and this is really really good so

CA District One Media: Episode Four - The ACA Repeal Vote - Duration: 2:22.

Welcome to California District One Media.

I'm Meri Mohr.

This week, House Republicans approved the disastrous repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

There are over 100,000 rural District One residents enrolled in Obamacare, and over

280,000 residents have pre-existing conditions.

LaMalfa's constituents came out in force to demand his protection of their health insurance

and a corresponding NO vote.

Ignoring their outcry, Doug LaMalfa, once again (in lockstep with Donald Trump), voted

YES for the ACA repeal.

This repeal rolls back consumer protections and allows insurance companies to consider

your health status when determining how much to charge you.

One in three Americans currently retain their insurance because of the pre-existing condition

clause guaranteed by the ACA and LaMalfa just voted to eliminate it.

The Trumpcare bill is a disturbing development for women's health as well.

LaMalfa voted to allow insurance companies to define sexual assault, postpartum depression,

c-sections, anxiety, and surviving domestic violence as pre-existing conditions.

He also said Yes to denying coverage for pregnancy and mammograms, covered under the current

system.

This makes women's insurance coverage more expensive than men's.

LaMalfa's YES vote is a blow to seniors and retirees.

Under Trumpcare, instead of subsidies, Americans will receive tax credits based on age, not

income, which will now max out at only $4,000 a year.

Those depending on Medicare home nursing services, the rural and working poor, and people with

disabilities will be hit the hardest over the next four years.

LaMalfa's vote also defunds and cancels mental health and drug treatment coverage, guaranteed

under the ACA.

Although TrumpCare passed the House, it was dead on arrival in the Senate.

The Senate confirms there will not be a vote of any kind on this inhumane bill, and they

are starting from scratch on a health care plan of its own.

At home, constituents demanding a No vote from LaMalfa called in such overwhelming numbers

that his office phone lines shut down.

Faxes to his office took over an hour to get through.

Clearly, Doug LaMalfa remains tone deaf to the needs of the people he supposedly represents.

Remember your vote is your voice.

Be heard.
