The following video content was made by YouTube Channel "견검관리", and was translate by Youtube Channel "ROK-US Alliance TV".
Earlier this month, a phone call was made to "K-Force Network" (국방TV) in South Korea from the North.
The video was made by Youtube Channel 건검관리 and translated by ROK-US Alliance.
The phone call was from a worker belonging to a NGO group who claimed to work on behalf of North Korea for copyright issues.
And he claimed that the video contents containing video clips of nuclear missile launching and Kim Jung Eun are copyrighted. (Meaning must be purchased to be broacasted in South Korea)
Meaning, since the video contents are about North Korea, (South Korea) must pay to the North.
According to K-Force Network, run by Defense Media Agency (of South Korea) focuses on ensuring that South Korean military troops and personnel to have a correct perception of North Korea.
The strange thing is that this NGO group is called InterKorea Group ( North-South Korea Cultural Economic Cooperation Group in full english translation) is a South Korean group made by a South Korean.
And this group was formed by Im Jong-Seok who recently became presidential secretary of Moon Jae-In.
Do not be shocked here, there are even more shocking facts.
First what is "InterKorea Group (North-South Korea Cultural Economic Cooperation Group in full english translation)" ? (남북경제문화협력재단 in Korean)
I will be explaining in this video, how this group has been financing North Korea.
This group led by people from National university student activism representative council (전국대학생대표자협의회) including Im Jong-Seok was organized in 2004
for cultural and economic partnership with North Korean youths.
Im Jong-Seok led the establishment of InterKoreaGroup (남북경제문화협력재단) in 2004 and served as chairman of the group.
Since he was chosen to be the presidential secretary of President Moon Jae-In, the word was that he resigned from the group.
However, unlike the rumours, the InterKoreaGroup was commiting many violantions.
unlike the group's mission statement for cultural cooperation,
On their website, they did no have any documents relating to cultural cooperation.
Meaning, other that acting as broker for copyright claims on behalf of North Korea, they did participate any other activities.
Therefore, InterKoreaGroup was only acting was a proxy group to fiance North Korea.
Furthurmore, the InterKoreaGroup which acts on behalf of Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has been pressuring South korean media and broadcast comapnies to pay copyright fees to North for years.
Therefore, the video clips containing images of North Korea and missile launching watched by ordinary citizens in the South were purchased from the North.
On top of that, to counter North Korea's "ROKS Cheonan sinking", a sanctions bill 5.24 passed by South Korean government prohibits financial support and invesment to North.
However, copyright fees were not stopped by the bill.
Therefore, they had made a deposit to the Court saying the copy right fees will go to the North once the sactions bill is lefted.
Therefore, since the last 13 years, the group has been collecting $ 187,767 USD according to South Korea's ministry of Unification.
Since the establishment of InterKoreaGroup, it has been involved in numerous scandals.
For instance, InterKorea group charged copyright fees from domestic book publishers over literature work of a North Korean author and sent $800,000 USD to North Korea.
The problem I have found here is that, according to a report from 2009,
InterKorea's North Korean partner "Copyright Agency" could not confirm the copyright fees actually went to the author.
In another instance, InterKoreaGroup was caught holding $150,000 USD collected from copyright fees which was past due.
The past administration even held investigations on InterKorea Group.
Ironically, since the presidential election of Moon Jae-In, more requests have been made for copyright fees.
InterKorea group which suppressed its activies during conservative regimes is now demanding mid-sized broadcast companies for copyright fees.
and now that In Jong-Seok is serving as president's secretary, broadcast companies are feeling even more under pressure.
state media companies such as KBS, EBS and K-Foce Network stated that they are in a dilema.
According to K-Force Network, "Any activity that finances North Korea in anyway is a violation itself of South Korea's national security policy".
In case of KBS, which is South Korea's national broadcast company, it is sending South Koreans' hard earned tax money to North Korea.
The fact that South Korea must pay when North Korea uses video clips and images of South Korea without any consent is non-sense in itself.
Paying copyright fees for using videos and images of North Korea's brutal action which threatens South Korean citizens is the same thing as,
Paying money to terroist groups like ISIS to watch them execute innocent hostages.
Let's ask ourselves, what kind of country pays money to its enemy state to watch videos related to them ?
On top of that, North Korea is being sanctioned by the UN.
If any of you from InterKoreaGroup is watching this video,I would like to ask this question.
Are you people also going to charge me copyright fees for using video clips from North Korea in my videos ?
If so, I am going to say it now, "I will not pay a penny" to North Korea.
I would like to ask a little bit of self-refecltion from you people.
Im Jong-Seok which has been collecting copyright fees on behalf of North Korea's copyright agency in South Korea still has not made a public statement on his past activities as a "Juchesasangpa".
Im Jong-Seok is someone who publicly announced that his proudest moment in his life was when he served as a student activiest. (저대협 의장)
And now he is dealing with South Korea's top confidential information.
In case of a future threat from North Korea, the meetings from National Security Council (of South Korea) will be held by Im Jong-Seok.
Another interesting that is that Im Jong-Seok's own mother was seen leading a demonstration to free Prisoners of conscience.
The Prisoners of conscience in South Korea are ex-student activists who became political prisoners for violating positive law.
The reason to be concerned from this is that, many of these political prisoners who were student activits are communist ideologists such as "Lee Seok-ki".
"Like mother, like son", this the expression which describes South Korea's current political situation.
It has not even been three months since the start of Moon's regime.
Thinking about the fact that we have 3 years and 7 months to go untill the end of Moon's terrible regime, I would like to just give up my work.
Watching what is happening in my country angers and frustrates me. Sometime I feel like even quitting making these videos.
What will then happen to South Korea's future ?
