Android Developer Story: AppOn build games for the next billion - Duration: 2:47.AppOn is based out of Pune and we started in 2012,
we make games which are easy to explain; optimised for the emerging markets.
With such a tremendous acceptance of the smartphone
we have to focus on these markets to maximise our revenues.
They hold a great deal of business opportunities for us.
So, Kitchen Story is a simulation casual game.
It's also a skill management game.
So you have to cook different dishes and compete with different world class chef.
When Kitchen Story was at the conception level itself
we had kept in mind that whatever we make, we make it under 20 MB
In India, basically there are plenty of challenges that we face.
One of them is the device compatibility.
Second is the data cost.
Third is the low performing devices and the language support.
So one must make sure that the game is built for all the kind of devices
and the performance should be same on all the devices,
whether it's a high end device or a low end device.
We learn from our past mistakes
that bringing a game heavier is gonna be disastrous for these countries.
So we were actually motivated to make a game which is lighter and faster
Working with Google,
we found out the best possible ways to keep the game size smallest.
The first one would be to use Noto Fonts instead of using custom fonts
as it reduces the size of the applications
and it's very easy to translate your games in other languages.
Second of all, native shapes are useful for animations, UI and effects
so if you use native shapes, that helps to reduce the game size drastically
and to make sure that while reducing the game size
we do not compromise on UI and UX.
I would say, use colour tables, the image is like matrix of the colours
where you can take the colour tables and index separately,
then you just change the colour table and you have altogether different image.
We made the game to work in the offline mode,
because in India not everyone has the internet connectivity all the time.
We also shifted a lot of game data, game assets to the cloud
Up till now we got almost six million downloads
and over 100,000 reviews with a rating of 4.4.
The initial retentions are really high because the game is very easy to learn
so the – the day 1 retentions are up to 60%
We always are focused on making a lighter,
faster game with having a great user experience.
Now all these techniques which we have been using so far
and now it has become the part of our DNA
and we do follow these techniques in our newer games.

English Nursery Rhymes For Children | Little Bo Peep | Songs And Rhymes For Babies | By Super Kids - Duration: 2:57.Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep
And doesn't know
Where to find them.
Leave them alone
And they'll come home
Wagging their tails behind them.
Little Bo Peep
She looked for her sheep
But didn't quite know
How to find them.
She looked everywhere,
From here and to there
But still couldn't think
where to find them.
Little Bo Peep
Began to weep,
And lay down to rest for a while..
She fell asleep
While counting her sheep
Then dreamt they came home with a smile..
Little Bo Peep had fallen asleep
And dreamt that she was alone..
But when she woke
And pulled back her cloak
She saw that her sheep had come home...
Little Bo Peep had lost her sheep
And didn't know
Where to find them.
She left them alone
And they came home
Wagging their tails behind them.

Crystal Palace facing 4 key absences as Roy Hodgson prepares for Liverpool reunion - Duration: 3:52.Crystal Palace facing 4 key absences as Roy Hodgson prepares for Liverpool reunion
Roy Hodgson could be without four of his key players as he prepares his Crystal Palace side to take on former club Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds make their way down to Selhurst Park for their first game in two weeks, taking on an Eagles outfit mired in a relegation battle.
Hodgson, who limped through a miserable half-season in the Anfield dugout in 2010, has overseen a slight upturn in fortunes in Croydon.
But Palace have still won just once in their last five games, losing the other four, and with an in-form Liverpool heading south this weekend his fitness issues are piling up.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Thursday afternoon, Hodgson confirmed James Tomkins, Jeffrey Schlupp and Alexander Sorloth should miss out, while Wilfried Zaha is a doubt.
Zaha hasn't been training to any great extent as we're nursing his knee problem that he has, he told reporters.
We will have a look at him tomorrow and hope the knee will be OK.
But we've had to be very cautious after the Huddersfield Town game as he came back from injury much earlier than he should have done.
Connor Wickham also remains sidelined after picking up a minor groin problem after his first game back in 16 months as the Palace U23s won 3-2 at Charlton.
The absence of Zaha in particular would be a major blow for Hodgson, and in turn a considerable boost for Jurgen Klopp as he pushes for another vital win.
Though Zaha has scored just four times for Palace this season, the winger is undoubtedly their best player, and with Liverpool without Joe Gomez (ankle) he could have thrived on the left.
Gomez and Emre Can both missed training at Melwood on Thursday afternoon, though Andrew Robertson was able to take part after limping off in Scotlands 1-0 win over Hungary on Tuesday night.
Neither Ben Woodburn or Dominic Solanke were pictured, either, with the former having returned from a lengthy trip to China and the latter struggling with a toe injury.
The likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino all reported back for duty, though, with Klopp once again including youngsters Kamil Grabara, Curtis Jones and Rafa Camacho.
Liverpool arent expected to have many more injury problems ahead of Saturdays clash, with Nathaniel Clyne now working his way back to full fitness.
Clyne could even hope to feature against his old club, having twice played the full 90 minutes for the Reds U23s of late, most recently in the 3-1 loss to Middlesbrough on March 21.

COLLEGE DECISIONS!! Waitlisted, accepted, rejected?- TIPS to make the BEST choice for you - Duration: 8:26.College decisions. what are you going to do? did you not get into any colleges? did
you not get into your top favorite college? are you just having trouble
deciding between three really great colleges? I will give you advice on how
to decide so no matter what boat you're in. stick around and I will help you
decide what to do. and you can always you have my social media below you can
always message me on there like one to one and I can give you advice or you can
comment below on YouTube and I can give you advice so we will get through this
college decision experience together and. I am a third-year student at Brown
University I am an undergraduate studying cognitive neuroscience and I
applied to brown early decision but I know a lot of people who have gone
through the broad array of experiences that I just said so I can help you
figure out college decisions so you want to know what do you do now then watch
this video and subscribe my first tip is you have to be familiar with the schools
that have accepted you if you're having trouble deciding so you
can either do one of two things you can one go to their accepted days or to
browse their website browse their student-run publication browse
everything you can about the school online or go to the school yourself if
you can and feel that gut feeling what do you feel about being a student there
do you see yourself being a student there that's a gut feeling
would it be cool to do these things at this college or this other thing at this
College like what do they have to offer what does the environment feel like just
be so familiar with the school and go with your gut feeling my second tip is
don't stop at your gut feeling if do you know what career you want to go into do
you know that you want to be computer science do you know that you want to do
filmmaking well then if you know and you're deciding between three or four
schools or even to which school has faculty lecturers researchers that are
the top performing in the college and compare them oh well this person's
credentials are 90 out of 100 and this person's credentials are 50 out of 100
in this other College choose this College
I wouldn't be too hesitant about oh if this person has too many credentials
they're not going to let me work with them if you really read their papers and
send them an email and are engaged they're gonna let you work with them so
go with the college that has higher professor credentials what if you didn't
get into your dream school that happens to so many people all I can say is
choose all I can say is I hope you applied to middle schools just safety
schools to reach schools to all that range and if you did then choose your
favorite safety school that you apply to choose your favorite middle school that
you apply to choose your favorite do the same thing go to the excepted days and
check out their website choose your favor and keep performing as best as you
can because if you get off that wait list for your favorite favorite school
then you want to make sure that they have no reasons to doubt it what if you
didn't get into any schools maybe you only apply to reach schools because your
high school didn't tell you to or you just weren't sure what to do take a gap
year so many people have taken a gap year not even
because they didn't get into colleges just because they want to grow as a
person grow in their experiences and then be ready to apply to colleges for
the first time or again so take a gap year and you know what you can do in
that gap here literally so many things you can volunteer in something that
you're interested in like you koval interior hospital you could volunteer
with kids you you can volunteer anywhere you want just make sure to have some
sort of a plan so that you can build your resume up so volunteering so having
a job if you like shadowing people on your field that could be such a wide
variety of people but try and shadow someone in your field maybe take extra
classes at a community college or something like that so just take a gap
year reapply we are so young we will be okay for example the average age to
enter med school at least in Browns medical is like 26 so if you miss a your
if you start a year later they didn't anticipate that's completely fine you
will be fine just take advantage of your gap year that's what it'll end up being
so sometimes there's not much you can do you just have to wait to see if you get
off the waitlist if you've been rejected that's really where it ends with that
college and if you've been accepted then that's great and I hope you can take
this advice and make a decision about the ones you've been accepted to I would
say don't dwell on what you haven't been accepted to all you can do is focus on
what you have been accepted to or focus on your gap year and either if you're
focusing on your copier try your best next time or if you're focusing on where
you're accepted to just kind of push those other schools to the side that you
were rejected from and just try your best in case they like take you off the
wait list but if you've been rejected that's really it but I just want to say
that let's say you to all your middle schools just treat
them like they're your top schools because you're gonna be there for the
next four years and honestly like there's this whole hype around top
colleges the top college that you wanted to go to and the middle college that
maybe you got into you're gonna have the same excellent experience in both
because you're getting a college education and you're building a career
out of it and that's amazing so I'm really really happy for you for
whatever college you've been accepted to I think that they're all excellent
because you're getting a career out of it and you're getting in my opinion a
better life because you are deciding to go to college and more opportunities so
I think you are awesome for getting accepted into college and if you weren't
accepted into college I still think you're awesome and I think that I
definitely don't blame you I usually blame school systems for
example because school systems can be so complicated
I've heard of schools that have like hundreds of kids per college counselor
and that's completely ridiculous so never give up
take your Goffe or apply to college again you can always transfer I meant a
lot of transfers you can always transfer like once first semesters ending you
could send a transfer application if you're a your middle school and you're
just not happy for some reason and you're getting involved in the school
anyways and you're keeping up your grades in whatever way that means to you
then apply to another school and try and transfer so it's there's always a
solution I think you're all great and let me know if you want any more advice
or if I could be more clear in anything just let me know so congratulations on
whatever has happened because no matter what it's a learning experience and
you're either gonna go to college or you're gonna grow as a person during a
gap year so either way I'm really happy for you
and let me know if I can make anything more clear at all so make sure to
subscribe, like, comment anything any questions anything you want to know more
about and make sure to give it a thumbs up!
