Now let's get into the video.

You may be thinking, "What in the world is a P&ID Diagram?

In industry, these are piping and instrumentation diagrams.

P&ID for short.

Most manufacturing facilities have compressed air, steam, chilled water, and other processes

that require the use of piping.

All of these forms of energy and processes require instrumentation to control them

which is usually in the form of valves and gauges, along with pumps and accumulators.

A P&ID diagram will have all of these for a maintenance person, operator, engineer,

or other employee to read and perform their job.

At first glance, a P&ID diagram may look pretty intimidating.

There can be several processes on one P&ID.

What I like to do is break it down into sections to make it a little easier to understand.

For example, let's take a look at a pneumatic system P&ID.

First, you should start at the air compressor, which you will find the correct symbol for

on a Legend of all symbols used.

You would then follow the line which represents a pipe to the next component.

In most cases it will be some form of instrumentation, like a pressure transmitter or indicator

that reads air pressure, or a valve to allow air to pass through to the next component

or block the air from passing through.

There are many types of valves, be sure to compare the symbols on your P&ID to the legend.

The P&ID will then show piping leading to the next component

which in the case of our pneumatic system could be an accumulator.

An accumulator is simply a tank or storage device for air or fluids.

Most P&ID diagrams will then have a symbol

with an arrow labeled for another specific piece of machinery in the facility

or it may simply say to Process.

This will indicate that if you need to trace the system further,

you will need the diagrams for that specific equipment.

Hopefully by now you are getting a feel for following a P&ID diagram.

Just remember to break the overall diagram down into smaller, more specific sections,

and simply trace the system that you need more information from.

Always refer to the Legend to make sure you know what the symbols indicate on the diagram.

17 4A Solve Quadratic Euqations Using Square Root Property When There is No Solution - Duration: 4:45.

PROFESSOR: Hey everybody.

So we're solving quadratic equations using the square root

property, and now we got to talk about a special case.

When your equation will not have an answer.

And you're going to say, how could that be?

Well let's think about it.

Let's think about what we know about square roots.

We know we can square root any kind of positive number,

whether it be perfect square or not a perfect square.

But we've also learned in previous modules that we cannot

square root a negative number.

So if you think back, if I asked you,

what is the value of square root of negative 16?

Well, you would have to think, all right, square root

means a number times itself.

What number times itself could give us

the radicand negative 16?

Could it be 4 times 4?

No, that would give us positive 16.

Could it be negative 4 times negative 4?

No, that would give us positive 16.

So we've already discussed this major concept.

You can never square root a negative radicand.

There is no answer to that.

And we said that's no real root.

So now think about it.

We're about to solve quadratic equations using the square root

property.

If in our calculation as we're doing our work

we get a square root of a negative number,

we can't have a value for that.

And if we can't have a value for that,

that means we can't proceed and solve the equation.

And when an equation cannot be solved,

when you cannot assign a numerical value to x,

then you say your equation has no solution.

Because the word solution means answer for an equation

and we'll have no answer.

Now, there is a symbol in math that means no solution.

If you look at your PowerPoint it's

the 0 with the slash through it.

I know if you're a military person that's how

you write your zeros at work.

In mathematics that is not a symbol for 0,

that is not the digit 0.

That zero with a slash through it is a specific symbol that

means I'm working with an equation

and I have no answer, no solution.

So just be aware of that.

In a mathematics class, that is symbol

for notation of no solution.

It is not a symbol for the digit 0.

So let's look at our equation in the PowerPoint.

It says x squared plus 9 equals 0.

So if you look, we know it's an equation, it has an equal sign.

We know it's quadratic, it has an x squared.

It's already set equal to 0 which tells me maybe

I should factor it.

But let's talk.

Can you factor x squared plus 9?

Well, let's go through our rules.

Is there a GCF?

Nope.

Is it a difference of perfect squares?

I gotcha.

No, it's not.

What does difference mean?

That's right, difference means it needs a subtraction symbol.

That's a sum of perfect squares and we've already discussed you

cannot factor a sum of perfect squares.

It's not a trinomial, it doesn't have three terms.

It's not grouping, it doesn't have four terms.

So that expression cannot be factored.

So now we say, all right, if it's a quadratic equation

and I can't use my factoring skills,

then I have to use my square root skills.

So let's go through the steps to do the square root property.

Step one is to isolate the term that is squared.

So we have to get the x squared on the left.

So I did the opposite of adding 9, I subtracted 9.

So I have x squared equals negative 9.

Step two is to square root both sides, which I did.

Step three is then to simplify.

So on the left side we know the square root of x squared is x,

but on the right side we have the square root of negative 9

and we know we cannot do that operation because our radicand

is negative.

So we've got to stop.

We can't get an answer to this equation.

So if we have to stop or calculation

because we can't square root a negative number,

we just say that the answer for x is no solution.

So any time you're working with a quadratic equation now

and you're doing the square root property,

you have to be aware of the fact that you can have

no solution as your answer.

Let's go to the white board.

Lawyers For Trump Officials Say Trump Indictment Is Almost Certain - Duration: 3:35.

According to recent interviews performed by Politico two attorneys for senior White House

officials in the Trump White House have told Politico that they expect Robert Muller to

hand down an indictment against Donald Trump as early as this spring.

Now the reason for this is because these two attorneys who spoke to Politico separately

understand how the law works, they understand how these investigations work, but more importantly

they've actually been a part of it on the other side, on the defense.

They're the ones representing officials within the Trump administration, so they've gone

in during the questioning, they've seen what Robert Mueller is trying to build, they understand

what evidence he has, and these people are now telling us that Donald Trump is headed

for an indictment for obstruction of justice.

Now I know that may not be the bombshell indictment that most people were hoping for but it is

something at this point.

Collusion, if it happened, if it didn't, is a very difficult thing to prove even for a

very skilled prosecutor, and I think that's why Robert Mueller kind of backed off that

to an extent, as far as we know, and is now focusing more on the obstruction of justice

because there are many different avenues that he can go with that.

It's not just that he obstructed justice one time.

It could be because of the response that they wrote to The New York Times article that they

said came from Don Jr., but instead came from Trump and Hope Hicks.

It could be the firing of Comey, it could be the recent stuff with Andrew McCabe, it

could be many different things.

There could be multiple counts of obstruction of justice.

It could be threatening to fire Jeff Sessions, and then not threatening, and then refusing

his resignation, we don't know.

At this point there are still too many unknowns about everything within this investigation

because not much is leaked.

What we do know is that attorneys for the other side, people representing the people

who are worried about going to jail are telling us that based on what they've seen, they're

saying, "If we were betting men we wouldn't put any money on Trump, we would put the money

on Mueller handing down an indictment."

Those are strong words from attorneys.

We also know that recently, actually just this past week, Rick Gates and Paul Manafort's

attorneys abruptly quit.

They decided they didn't want to do this any more and I'm assuming it's because they understand

that at this point there is no way they can win for their client.

Either that or their client keeps making stupid mistakes and saying things he shouldn't say,

so they decided, "You know what?

I can't do this any more."

Trump is in a lot of trouble and Trump understands that, which is why he continues to attack

our intelligence agencies, but if these attorneys who have very close first hand knowledge of

this investigation are being honest, and if we can trust them, then hopefully we can expect

that sometime this spring Donald Trump will be handed his very own indictment.

Possum Day: Albertville, AL | This is Alabama - Duration: 2:53.

It's funny because many times we'll go out and people will call it Possum Day

and then somebody will look at that person say no it's Groundhog Day.

Usually an argument starts. Haven't you heard QSB has a possum.

What we call possum day much the world knows it as Groundhog Day but we years ago

1993 we were joking on the morning show about how what does the groundhog know

about southern weather because Punxsutawney Phil simply always wrong. So

we let the listeners call in and choose different animals and what would be more

fitting for the south if we had our very own southern animal and they chose to go

with a possum. We then threw it out there about naming of the possum so we had a

contest and we had some unusual names crazy names anything from Matthew

Mcpossumghey was one of them but eventually Sand Mountain Sam was the one

to come out then and that one to receive the most votes because this is

considered Sand Mountain.

We didn't know what to expect the first year with the possum

because we've never really been around a possum so luckily we had a

person in town who is familiar with animals so they agreed to come in here

and kind of handle Sam. Janet who works in the area she has a business Suds and Scrubs.

She's been kind enough to catch a possum every year. She thinks

this year maybe the same possum from last year.

We used the parking lot outside the building so we've got a possum band we have a possum queen.

We had a contest where we let people enter telling us why they would make

the perfect possum queen. Her job is mainly to read the proclamation that is it.

much like they do in Punxsutawney. We'll pull Sam out of his cage hold him

up similar to like Lion King and look and see whether he sees his shadow

or not much like what you would see watching Groundhog Day.

So far he's hit 23 in a row. He missed the first year that was a 93 and that's

when we had the major snowstorm. All we could guess was a it snowed all over the

possum hole and well who can be accurate when that happened.

Sandman Sam is released every year back out into the wild I know you don't hear that very

often but we treat the possum better we do some of the people who work here so.

All right we just heard from Sand Mountain Sam and the clouds covered the

sun for a few minutes and he did not see his shadow so it was like an early spring.

The people they loved it it they think it's crazy

I mean they've never seen a possum I guess in person so to have a possum that

close to him is pretty funny they get a thrill out of it.

Past and present signs show Sadio Mane is close to rediscovering explosive top form - Duration: 10:25.

Past and present signs show Sadio Mane is close to rediscovering explosive top form

Sadio Mane isnt hitting top gear for Liverpool, but the signs both past and present suggest an upturn in fortunes is around the corner.

After a brilliant debut season for the Reds last year, equally big things were expected of the Senegalese wide forward.

And why not: he quickly became a pivotal player, offering a goalscoring threat and ridiculous pace, two attributes which few could provide for Jurgen Klopps team.

But it doesnt feel as if 2017/18 has been quite as impressive for Mane, struggling for top form and consistency.

There have been runs of form, but nothing sustained, nothing suggesting hes about to displace Mohamed Salah or Roberto Firmino as the most crucial element of the front line.

And, because of that, hes seen as out-of-form, as disappointing, even as a problem for some.

Its a half-truth though, and the signs on the pitch are that Mane is doing everything possible to turn around his own form, and is still offering the Reds plenty regardless.

In-game progress.

First of all, two facts have to be acknowledged: One, that Salah (or Firmino) is not the standard-bearer for Manes form.

Mane is the standard bearer for Mane, and any ups or downs in performance should be measured from what he is capable of producing.

Secondly, even without being in top form, hes still showing enough moments of quality to play a telling part in Liverpools game.

When the first touch returns, when the decision-making isnt clouded by doubt, productivity will again soar.

As it is, in his last five league games, Mane accounts for four goals: one scored against Burnley, another against Man City, a back-heeled assist for Salahs first against Leicester and a flick for Firminos against Huddersfield.

Both the latter strikes owed much to technique and impudence of the eventual scorer, but in each case, without Manes contribution theres no prospect of the goal arriving at that point.

Aside from goalscoring, there have been other moments, signs that Mane knows what to do.

The execution is the let-down at times, or even his team-mates passes, but Manes movement is absolutely on-point.

Against Swansea, dire as the performance was, there were two critical moments of Liverpool attacking.

Both involved Mane running behind, on the diagonal.

The first didnt result in a clear chance, but it showed the way forward for the Reds against massed ranks of white shirts.

Liverpool failed to repeat the trick until near the interval, when another Mane surge saw him teed up by Salah.

Awkwardly, he failed to hit the target due to a difficult body shape, but the movement, the getting into position in the first place, is the key to focus on.

His display against Huddersfield is too easy to overlook, given the Reds won handily and the scorers were other key names, but at 0-0 and 1-0 it was Mane, continually moving infield and finding space between the lines, who allowed the Reds to keep up the pressure.

Its coming, its just not quite there yet.

And despite that—Mane is on course to match last term.

He scored 13 Premier League goals then, he has six so far this term, with half the season still to come.

In all competitions, hes just three of last terms total, in 500 minutes less of action.

Historical form.

It isnt just on the pitch where we can see Manes return to form is imminent.

Naturally, Liverpool fans will look to last season as a measure of what to expect from him, but 16/17 was comfortably his most consistent campaign in terms of finding the net.

Mane netted 13 times in the Premier League—and not once did he go more than two successive league games without beating the opposition goalkeeper.

Prior to joining the Reds, though, one criticism of Mane had been his tendency to go missing, not just for periods in games but for huge stretches of times—weeks, even a couple of months.

To an extent thats understandable.

He is now 25; his final campaign at RB Salzburg he was just 21 years old, still raw and learning.

The idea would be to improve upon that, but at Southampton too he was beset by huge swings in form and reliability.

The graphs below show his league goalscoring through the past four full seasons, at Salzburg, Saints and his debut Liverpool campaign.

The red line of Liverpool is far and away the most stable, an indication of his progress and his importance perhaps.

Both campaigns at Southampton saw long barren runs, while his final campaign at Salzburg didnt see Mane hit goalscoring form until game week 9.

In all three cases, though, a drop-off from Mane preceded a sudden surge of scoring form, a sharp upturn in productivity.

Of course this only looks at scoring, and doesnt factor in sporadic absences from the team, but his season-ending injury with Liverpool in early April 2017 was the only time Mane missed more than a couple of fixtures in a row with any of the three clubs.

Mentality.

There are other factors to consider, too.

Last year he was the star; this year the fans found a new hero in Salah even before welcoming Mane back to fitness.

Perhaps thats a factor, perhaps not.

But mentality is, always, and Mane has more reasons than the fans for disruption this term.

At the start of the season it shouldnt be forgotten that he was key: goals in each of the opening three league games, an assist against Hoffenheim, another away to Spartak.

Then came the red card against Man City, where he had been producing a tremendous performance early on.

That suspension, followed by a hamstring injury, meant a hampered run for Mane up to Christmas almost, by which time uneven form had set in and that derby incident caused further unrest.

Hes not a machine, but a person—and judging by interviews and his own words, a reasonably introverted one.

AT the very minimum, he comes across as a player who doesnt crave the limelight and needs a little reasurrance, but when confidence is high, its very high.

Thats when the goals flow and the speed is on show—and for Mane a return to that level is surely not far away.

17 4B Solve Quadratic Equations Using Square Root Property When There is No Solution - Duration: 3:23.

PROFESSOR: Welcome back.

So again, here's our equation I want to solve.

I know it's quadratic, because it has an x squared.

Now I have two options.

I could set this equation equal to 0 and try to factor it.

Or I could jump into the square root property.

A rule of thumb is, if your equation has

the term that's squared, and it has all the other terms

are numbers--

constants, it is quicker to do the square root property.

So that's what I'm going to do.

So step one of the square root property

says, isolate the term that's squared.

So the first thing you need to do is look at your equation

and understand who is the base to that exponent.

And if you look, this exponent 2 only belongs to the x.

So we need to move all the numbers to the right side

until that x squared is isolated.

So the first thing we'll do is move and subtract 3

by adding 3.

So we get 4x squared.

Cancels out.

They're inverse operations.

Negative 19 plus 3 is negative 16.

All right.

Our squared term is not isolated.

I have x squared.

That 4 is not part of that exponent.

So I'll move the 4 by division.

4 divided by 4 is 1x squared.

Negative 16 divided by 4 is negative 4.

Great.

So there's step one done.

We've isolated the term that's squared.

Step two says, do the inverse operation of squaring,

which is square root.

We know squares and square roots are inverse operations,

just like add and subtract are inverse, just like multiply

and divide are inverse.

So they cancel out.

And to me, that's a fireman putting the fire out

of the house.

What you're left with is the letter x.

Because your original equation was x squared quadratic,

you know you need two solutions.

So when you get to the right side, you put a plus or minus.

Now you deal with the square root.

Well, everybody look closely.

What are we square rooting?

Oh my.

We're square rooting negative 4.

Is there a number times itself that would give us negative 4?

No, there's not.

So what that tells us is we can't perform this calculation.

Now I know if I just had this on the board, that's

not an equation.

That's an expression.

And if I ask you the value of this expression,

you wrote, no real root, which told me you couldn't do it.

Now that we're solving an equation,

because we have an equal sign, you just

don't write, no real root.

What you say is, hey, Miss Black, I can't solve this.

I'm not going to get a value out for x, a numerical value.

So Miss Black, there is no solution.

No real solution.

OK?

And another way to say that is with the symbol 0 with a slash.

OK.

So I want to just make sure you're aware that symbol is not

the digit 0.

In math, we don't use this to represent a 0.

We represent this symbol to show that there

is no answer to our equation.

Great?

All right.

See you in the next module.

Who Really Is Ned Ryerson?! Groundhog Day Movie Theories / Thoughts | Kate's Adventures - Duration: 3:42.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a wonderful Groundhog Day

or just having a great day if you're not watching this on the day that the video goes live.

I absolutely love Groundhog Day, it's my favorite day of the year

and that's because I just love the idea that there's certain parts of the world

that get out a little furry creature to predict the weather, it's the cutest thing I swear

and I also really like the "Groundhog Day" movie which by the way is 25 years old this year.

That's absolutely crazy.

So anyways in the spirit of Groundhog Day I wanted to talk about "Groundhog Day" the movie

because there's a theory I have about it that I don't really see anybody talking about

and I thought I'd share it with everyone, yay!

My interpretation of "Groundhog Day" from when I was little is that an out-of-towner came into Punxsutawney

and he rejected their culture, he thought their community was stupid.

All they ever cared about was the groundhog and they sang little songs

and thought that this thing could seriously predict the weather quite accurately.

And because of that he ended up in a time loop until he learned his lesson.

As an extension to that I thought maybe the groundhog was in charge of the time loop

because the groundhog is honored on this day, he's like a pillar in the community

and Phil just didn't seem to recognize that

and he didn't seem to recognize the townspeople for everything that they were.

So I always thought that since the groundhog was magical enough to predict the weather

he was possibly magical enough to create this time loop as well.

Another character that fascinates me in "Groundhog Day" is Ned Ryerson because if you watch the movie

he's one of the only characters who isn't really into the Groundhog Day celebrations.

Sure he turns up with the party at the end

but all of his interactions seem to be about insurance and trying to sell something.

In fact if you notice he even ignores a dying man because he doesn't have any money

and he's not going to be able to get any business from him and I just find that really interesting.

He's one of the only characters who doesn't really acknowledge Groundhog Day at all

and it makes me wonder is he stuck in his own time loop?

The way that he chases Phil down the street trying to get any kind of sale

makes me wonder is he on his own philosophical journey to be a better person?

Is this early on in the journey

where he maybe thinks he has to sell insurance in order to get out of this time loop?

I just really wonder about him and I don't know whether the character was ever meant to be that deep

but certainly that's something that I've wondered about him.

So there we are, those are my kind of crazy theories about "Groundhog Day"

but I absolutely love this movie and I highly recommend you watching it if you've never seen it before.

And if you celebrate Groundhog Day in your area can you tell me about it down below?

Who is the Punxsutawney Phil in your area? What do you think of this film?

Any thoughts you have at all I'd love to hear them down below

and thank you so so much for watching everybody, cheerio!

Thanks again for watching everybody
