Waching daily Feb 2 2018

Here at NIH, we get patients from all over the world.

A lot of them are very sick, sometimes hopeless.

Many times all of their or many of their treatment doors have been closed.

To be or having a chance to be a part of the team to where we take the chance to cure their

illness or make their life better is the most exciting part of my day and I get that excitement

every day.

The NIH has been a leader in cancer immunotherapy for many years with some of the very brilliant

scientists working here, so it was an opportunity for me to come over here and working alongside

some of these scientists getting some new experiences in cancer immunotherapy and enhancing

my own research experiences.

It's the excitement of being able to use new technologies, a lot of times first in the

entire world and working with a group of renowned scientists.

Here at Center for Cellular Engineering, we work with protocols that are either on Phase

1 or Phase 2 of clinical research trials where a certain drug or a therapy or both are being

applied to a patient or a patient population based on their sickness and we are trying

to reduce their illness and improve their health.

Well I work in the product development section so a lot of the things that I do is optimizing

and fine tuning the protocols and these free agents that get made and put into the clinic.

So, it's been really nice to work with these clinical products and fine tuning all of these

little aspects of it that will eventually actually go on to patients.

You have to be able to learn new things everyday, be adaptive to it, apply it, and follow it

accordingly.

Within this section we work with cancer immunotherapy cellular engineering, so there is a lot of

cell culturing involved, working with viruses, working with microscopes, and cell counters

and things like that.

Just generally a lot of molecular and cell biology.

Cell cultures is a big part of our position here and then good understanding of GMP rules.

You have to love science, you have to understand science, you have to be passionate about it

so take lots of science courses, have fun with them, ask questions, share knowledge.

You are the future so go for it.

Within the new revolution of cancer immunotherapy cellular engineering has just begun to show

its potential in both the clinic and worldwide.

I see a pretty bright future for cellular engineering in the coming years.

I mean we are talking about studying cells from its core and manipulating based on patient's

sickness or needs.

When you talk about that you are basically talking about possibilities that are virtually

endless.

10,300 Fight Money up for grabs and an interesting change in this week's Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition missions

More challenges go live on Sundays, it seems

Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition's weekly missions are back again. but with a bit of a twist.

As always, four main missions went live last night that reward you with Fight Money when completed. Three are straightforward, while one remains cryptic.

It seems that Capcom may have heard the feedback on the reduced FM for these challenges once AE dropped as now there are additional missions to work through.

There are now eight missions in-game, with four of them having gone live this past Sunday.

These other missions offer quite a bit of Fight Money as well, and are essentially another full set of challenges.

The deadline is this Sunday, which means we'll likely be seeing a new set once they end.

With the start of a new month, we also see an Arcade Mode challenge that rewards a special title. The deadline for this challenge is February 28th.

This week's cryptic mission is "Datta's Wish," which is a repeat mission

We'll be telling you how to complete this, and all of the other FM challenges in this story.

DIY Apron for beginners/ DIY zástera pre začiatočníkov (SK,EN sub) - Duration: 13:06.

Hello.

In this video I will show you step by step how I made this apron.

I started by measuring mum's apron.

I adjusted the measurements and these are the pieces I worked with.

Except the skirt I drew and cut all the pieces directly from the fabric.

I made pattern only for the skirt.

I cut a rectangle with that dimensions 55x45 cm.

I wanted the apron to widen at the hips so I adjusted the pattern.

I drew few approx. equally distant lines on it.

It doesn't have to be absolutely equal, I drew them approx. 5 cm from each other.

I then cut the pattern along those lines but I didn't separated the stripes completely from each other

I left few milimeters at the top attached so that I could move the stripes.

I then placed it onto a new paper.

I then spread the stripes to the sides , approx. the same distance from each other.

That widened the pattern.

I taped it down and drew the new shape.

I peeled off the original pattern and cut out the new pattern.

I curved one bottom corner and cut it.

I placed that cut off piece to the other corner, traced it and cut it.

This is the pattern for the skirt all done.

I used 0,5m of this blue cotton for the apron.

I pinned the pattern for the skirt to the fabric and cut it out.

I measured out the chest square directly onto the fabric and cut it out.

Also the ties and the strap around the neck.

I ironed all three stripes the same way.

I ironed both edges by 0,5 cm inside

I folded the stripe in half and ironed it.

This is what an ironed stripe looked like.

I opened up both waist ties, right sides together I folded them in half and sewed this section.

I cut off the excess seam allowance and turned the stripe to the right side.

I refolded the edges 0,5 cm inside and sewed the stripe along both edges.

The neck strap Ionly sewed along both edges.

I didn't close either end.

I serged 3 sides of the chest square.

I doesn't matter which ones since they're all equally long.

I also sewed the bottom edge of the skirt.

I used serger/overlock but if you don't have one, you can use a zig zag stitch on the regular machine.

I decided to make 1,5 cm hem so from that serged edges of the chest piece I measured 3 cm and made some marks.

I folded the edge to that markings and pinned it.

It created 1,5 cm hem.

I also folded the remaining 2 edges.

In the corners I folded the fabric a bit inside.

I made marks also on the skirt, 3 cm away from the edge.

Maybe you already noticed , maybe not, but hemming a curve can sometimes be tricky and it ends up twisted and not pretty.

But I know a hack that I used for hemming the skirt

I set the stitch length to the maximum value and sewed along the curved part.

I grabbed one of the threads, pulled it a bit, moved the fabric and gathered it a bit.

It's enought to gather it only a bit but you notice how the fabric folds inside by itself which makes the hemming easier.

I folded the edge to that markings which I made previously and pinned it.

The same way I folded the other side.

Here you can see that the fabric is not twisted or stretched and the hem is nice and straight.

I sewed it.

I folded the skirt in half and marked the centre point with a pin.

I did the same with the chest square.

Right sides together I joined the points and pinned the square to the skirt.

I sewed the edtire edge with serger and that way also serged the top edge of the skirt.

If you don't have serger you can first sew the square to the skirt and then zig zag the entire edge.

I folded the seam down and pinned it.

Same as with the chest square I folded the fabric in the cornerns a bit inside.

I sewed it.

With that opened end I placed the waist ties to the corners of the skirt and sewed them making a square with an X inside.

The same way I sewed the neck strap to the chest square.

Make sure it is not twisted.

I decided to also make a pocket.

I put it on and marked with pins where I wanted it.

I cut a 15 x 15 cm square.

I folded it in half and cut it into a pocket shape.

I pinned it to the fabric and cut it.

I ironed the top edge 1cm inside and sewed it.

The other edges I ironed 0,5 cm inside.

I placed the pocket to the place which I marked and sewed it.

So this is the finished apron.

If you have any questions or don't understand anything, feel free to ask in the commens.

I hope you liked the video and see you next time.

Bye! :)

Iranian police arrest 29 for involvement in hijab protests - Duration: 4:58.

Iranian police arrest 29 for involvement in hijab protests

Police in the Iranian capital, Tehran, have arrested 29 people for their involvement in protests against the countrys compulsory headscarf law.

Women across Iran have been removing their headscarves in public to protest Irans strict Islamic dress code.

Videos and photos shared on social media have shown demonstrators standing on utility boxes on street sidewalks, defiantly waving their hijabs.

Tehran police suggested that their actions were incited by foreigners, saying those arrested were deceived into removing their hijabs, Irans semiofficial Tasnim News Agency reported.

The 29 protesters been transferred to judicial authorities, the report said.

Masih Alinejad, the Iranian activist behind the White Wednesday social media campaign against mandatory hijabs, who is now based in the US, told CNN that the movement has not been influenced from abroad.

  The movement started inside Iran.

It has nothing to do with forces outside of Iran, Alinejad said.

This is a campaign thats been going on for years and years.

The women of Iran have long been ignored.

Were just giving them a platform. News of the arrests came just days after the release of Vida Mohaved, a woman who was detained in December after removing her headscarf at an anti-regime protest.

The wave of anti-goverment demonstrations last month was sparked by concerns over rising living costs and a stagnant economy, but also provided an opening for Iranian women to push for equal rights.

Women have been required to wear the hijab since he Islamic Revolution in 1979.

Mohaved attracted attention during the demonstrations when a video of her protesting went viral.

The footage shows Mohaved waving her white hijab defiantly from the end of a pole, her black hair flowing uncovered.

In recent months, enforcement of the law banning the hijab has been relaxed.

In the past, women who allowed their hijab to slip could be admonished by the religious police, but these forces have been less prominent under the regime of President Hassan Rouhani.

Authorities also announced that women driving with improper head coverings would no longer be arrested, and instead receive a relatively small fine.

The easing of the enforcement has emboldened younger women to become more defiant, but recent incidents in which they have removed their hijabs in protest could still lead to prison sentences.

Soheila Jaloodarzadeh, a female member of the Iranian Parliament, said on Wednesday during an event on womens rights that the protests were the conclusion of years of restrictions, the semiofficial Ilna news agency reported.

When we restrict women, and put them under unnecessary pressure, exactly this is the reason for rebellions, Jaloodarzadeh said, according to Ilna.

This is the reason.

Arsene Wenger to take late call on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Everton clash - Duration: 2:37.

Arsene Wenger to take late call on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Everton clash

Arsenal will assess new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's fitness before deciding if the striker can make his debut for the club in Saturday's Premier League clash with Everton, manager Arsene Wenger said on Friday.

The London club bolstered their forward line by signing the Gabon international from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee on Wednesday but Aubameyang, 28, did not fully participate in Thursday's training session due to a fever.

"Aubameyang, I have to assess how well he is physically today and how well he feels," Wenger told a news conference.

"He had a fever so he could not practise a lot. He started yesterday, was still not completely well. I have to assess with the medical department how fit he can be.".

Wenger revealed that he would take a late call on midfielder Jack Wilshere, who is also unwell.

"We hope he is capable of being in the squad, he is better. He will practice with the team today and we will see how he feels," Wenger added.

The manager said Armenia midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, another of Arsenal's recruits in the January transfer window, is in line to start against ninth-placed Everton.

Wenger, however, kept his cards close to his chest when asked if the attacking quartet of Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette could play together on Saturday.

Will I do it? Maybe, I don't know. But it is possible, yes," Wenger added.

"We can play two up (front) as well. One up or two up. You need at least two top strikers to play in the Premier League because if one gets injured you have a problem.".

Arsenal are sixth in the table with 42 points from 25 games.

CARELESS DRIVER REMANDED IN COURT FOR KILLING PASTOR

A truck driver, identified as Olajuwon Ariyibi, has been remanded in prison by a chief Magistrate's Court sitting in Owo, for allegedly killing two pastors at Ipele, in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The 42-year-old driver allegedly killed the two pastors, Adebayo Oluwasina and Ajenifuja Sunday, who were primary school teachers in the state with his truck while the deceased were on a motorcycle on Monday.

It was gathered that the men were killed due to the alleged recklessness of the driver. The accused was arraigned on two counts of dangerous driving and manslaughter.

According to the police prosecutor, Sergeant Edu Owolabi, the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 18 of the Road Traffic Laws, Cap. 3, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006. However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The defence counsel, Mr Aderemi Adetula, prayed the court to grant him bail, but the magistrate, Mr Sunday Adedapo, turned down the request. The magistrate said the court would rule on the bail application on the next adjournment.

He ordered that the accused be remanded in prison and adjourned till February 8, 2018.

Man sentenced to life for attack near London's Finsbury Park mosque - Duration: 4:55.

Man sentenced to life for attack near London's Finsbury Park mosque

The man who killed a Muslim worshiper and injured several others last year in a terror attack near a London mosque was sentenced Friday to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 43 years.

Darren Osborne plowed his vehicle into a crowded sidewalk outside Finsbury Park Mosque in north London on June 19, killing Makram Ali, 51, and leaving 12 people injured.

Osborne, 48, was convicted by a court Thursday of murder and attempted murder.

Justice Bobbie Cheema-Grubb said Osborne had been rapidly radicalized, adding that his mindset became one of malevolent hatred, she said during the sentencing, according to the Judicial Press Office.

This was a terrorist attack, she said.

You intended to kill. Speaking outside the court, the murdered mans eldest daughter Ruzina Akhtar said the family welcomed the verdict while describing the torment they had been through since her fathers death.

Our father, like the victims of most terrorism, was entirely innocent, which makes his death in this violent way all the more hurtful and we cannot imagine the trauma he felt in the last few minutes, she said in a statement.

But we will choose to remember our father with happier thoughts.

He will never be forgotten, he will always stay in our hearts, his laughter will echo the walls of our home, his smile will be reflected in our eyes, his memories will be alive in our conversations.   Motivated by anger Osborne appeared to have been motivated by anger over Islamist terror attacks in London and Manchester, England, in 2017 and a child grooming scandal in Rochdale that involved men of Asian origin, Woolwich Crown Court in southeast London was told.

He rented a van in Wales and drove it to London on June 18 planning to attack people attending a march, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said in a statement after the verdict.

When that did not prove possible, he drove around the city looking for a mosque, it said.

Just after midnight, he saw a group of men helping Ali, who had collapsed at an intersection.

More people were around than usual because it was Ramadan, and many Muslims were on their way to or from prayers, the CPS said.

According to the prosecution, Osborne deliberately drove his vehicle into the group near Finsbury Park Mosque, fatally injuring Ali and trying to kill as many others as he could.

Nine others were taken to the hospital with injuries suffered in the attack.

A witness told the court that when Osborne was stopped from fleeing by members of the public, he said: Ive done my job, you can kill me now. In his defense, Osborne claimed that a man named Dave had been driving the van and was responsible for the attack.

But he was unable to explain why closed-circuit TV showed only one man leaving the vehicle, the prosecution said.

The CPS said it had prosecuted the case as a terrorist offense because Osbornes actions were intended to advance a political purpose, expressed in a handwritten note found in the van he used and in comments he made to police officers at the scene.

Lawyers For Trump Officials Say Trump Indictment Is Almost Certain - Duration: 3:35.

According to recent interviews performed by Politico two attorneys for senior White House

officials in the Trump White House have told Politico that they expect Robert Muller to

hand down an indictment against Donald Trump as early as this spring.

Now the reason for this is because these two attorneys who spoke to Politico separately

understand how the law works, they understand how these investigations work, but more importantly

they've actually been a part of it on the other side, on the defense.

They're the ones representing officials within the Trump administration, so they've gone

in during the questioning, they've seen what Robert Mueller is trying to build, they understand

what evidence he has, and these people are now telling us that Donald Trump is headed

for an indictment for obstruction of justice.

Now I know that may not be the bombshell indictment that most people were hoping for but it is

something at this point.

Collusion, if it happened, if it didn't, is a very difficult thing to prove even for a

very skilled prosecutor, and I think that's why Robert Mueller kind of backed off that

to an extent, as far as we know, and is now focusing more on the obstruction of justice

because there are many different avenues that he can go with that.

It's not just that he obstructed justice one time.

It could be because of the response that they wrote to The New York Times article that they

said came from Don Jr., but instead came from Trump and Hope Hicks.

It could be the firing of Comey, it could be the recent stuff with Andrew McCabe, it

could be many different things.

There could be multiple counts of obstruction of justice.

It could be threatening to fire Jeff Sessions, and then not threatening, and then refusing

his resignation, we don't know.

At this point there are still too many unknowns about everything within this investigation

because not much is leaked.

What we do know is that attorneys for the other side, people representing the people

who are worried about going to jail are telling us that based on what they've seen, they're

saying, "If we were betting men we wouldn't put any money on Trump, we would put the money

on Mueller handing down an indictment."

Those are strong words from attorneys.

We also know that recently, actually just this past week, Rick Gates and Paul Manafort's

attorneys abruptly quit.

They decided they didn't want to do this any more and I'm assuming it's because they understand

that at this point there is no way they can win for their client.

Either that or their client keeps making stupid mistakes and saying things he shouldn't say,

so they decided, "You know what?

I can't do this any more."

Trump is in a lot of trouble and Trump understands that, which is why he continues to attack

our intelligence agencies, but if these attorneys who have very close first hand knowledge of

this investigation are being honest, and if we can trust them, then hopefully we can expect

that sometime this spring Donald Trump will be handed his very own indictment.

Hand Representations for Typing in VR VR 2018 - Duration: 1:52.

Text entry in virtual reality is an important feature for many tasks.

Existing consumer virtual reality systems often rely on handheld controllers,

head, or gaze direction, which are limited in performance compared to familiar physical and touch keyboards.

As consumer virtual reality expands into new areas such as social, creative, and even office applications

there is a growing need for text entry capabilities.

While transplanting standard keyboards to virtual reality is viable,

there are several design parameters that may affect their performance.

The user hands may be represented in different ways in the virtual world.

One option is not reveal the hands at all and just visualize the actual pressed keys.

Alternatively, incorporating the video of the user's hands, maybe the closest representation

to real life at the possible cost of breaking the immersiveness

of the virtual world.

The user hands may be represented by an avatar hands.

Depending on the level of sensing of the user's hands there may be visual differences between

the look of the model or the motion to the real user hands

which may generate dissonance between the user and the avatar hands.

Finally, as virtual reality is not limited to physical reality, new representations maybe

proposed that better fits the text entry needs.

For example, it is possible to visualize only the user's fingertips and leave the keyboard

mostly visible.

In this paper, we study the effects of these different hand representations on typing performance.

Please refer to the paper for details and results.
