The idea of terrorism looms over the United States like relentless storm clouds.
Now, a group of Democrats want to help terrorists, and it is plain unforgivable.
Rep. Betty McCollum (D-MN), introduced new legislation on November 14th.
The piece of legislation is co-sponsored by nine other active Democrats.
They are urging the State Department to "prevent United States tax dollars from supporting
the Israeli military's ongoing detention and mistreatment of Palestinian children,"
according to Fox News.
On the surface of this legislation, the emotion-driven response is to want to help the children.
But when one examines the implications of such a measure, it is disturbing.
Simply put, terrorist organizations use young Palestinians to help wage war on Israeli citizens.
They convince these young people that they are justified in waging war against Jewish
people and the Jewish state.
As a result, there were dozens of attacks dating back to the year 2000.
Palestinian teenagers got caught committing terrorist attacks against the Jewish people
on buses, in restaurants, and even nightclubs.
Their goal is complete domination.
This mindset has not gone away or lightened up — in fact, it has only gotten worse.
Now there are a subset of people called "lone wolf" Intifada, which means children as
young as 13 execute atrocious attacks like stabbing Israelis with knives, screwdrivers,
pretty much anything they can get their hands on to use as a weapon.
The new piece of legislation is called "Promoting Human Rights by Ending Israeli Military Detention
of Palestinian Children Act."
Think of the dark implications associated with this legislation.
Palestinians are already using children to carry out attacks because they are given mercy
and punished less than adults.
Imagine if this piece of legislation went through and children aged 12-17 who commit
terrorist attacks were just released after attempting to murder innocent Jewish people.
A great example of the horror that can unfold at the hands of children can be seen earlier
this year in Halamish.
A teenaged Palestinian picked a house full of Jewish people, invaded their home, and
stabbed multiple people while they ate their Sabbath dinner.
The attack left three dead.
Two Palestinian teenagers also executed an attack a few years back.
The terrorists broke into a home and murdered a mother, father, and three children — including
a 3-month-old baby.
These kinds of acts are absolutely not acceptable.
Teenagers or not — they are terrorists and should be prosecuted as such.
As a result of attacks like this, Israel introduced legislation in late 2016 that allowed imprisonment
of terrorists 12 and older.
This new legislation in the United States would allow for leniency in such situations.
In fact, they can cancel or shorten the prison sentence whenever they want.
The 10 Democrats who want to pass this legislation need to consider the potential implications
of this legislation.
Terrorists do not deserve the same human rights as their victims, even if the perpetrators
are minors.
There is no good that can come from this bill passing and becoming law.
