Helloooooo!!! How do you do???
Another update video for Fortress Maximus. So we have bought the DNA Design upgrade kit.
It is called DK-04. This is the box. A simple box. You see Fortress Maximu's head over here.
Nothing special about the box.
And on the back side of the box you see the parts of the upgrade kit.
And as you can see here, this upgrade kit is for ages 16+ .
So, let's open it and see what it has inside.
And here is the upgrade kit. We get a new crotch, new feet and some ratchet joints for the legs, we will see it in a bit.
And of course here are the instructions that tell us how to place the upgrade kit.
So, let's bring Fortress Maximus in and place the upgrade kit on him.
So, we opened the upgrade kit, we brought in Fortress Maximus.
My buddy Stefanos is near me who will show you the upgrade kit. Stefanos?
- Hello from me as well. First of all, we get some fillers for the hands of Cerebros.
You also get some screw covers that I already placed them.
I have put the hand fillers from Reprolabels so I can put the Reprolabels sticker in the future.
So this is the new foot. This is already mounted.
This is right out of the box. You simply take this piece and connect it here.
I will show you later how to place it on Fortress. This is the new piece that will get in here.
And these are the ratchet joints, they give us more points of leg articulation, we will see them when we will put them.
So let's see now how to place the upgrade kit.
So, we have lied down Fortress to work on his crotch. Unscrew these screws.
Nicely done. Remove this piece.
Remove this piece as well.
This piece will get in here.
Now turn around Fortress because the screws will be on the back side of his body.
So, we turned around Fortress. This piece that has the screws will get in here.
This red piece will get in there. And this side will be on the rear side of Fortress.
Place it over here.
Place this piece as well. And now tighten the screws.
So, let's lift him up now to see how he looks.
So, the new crotch has been placed. If I am not mistaken, it is more cartoon accurate now.
As for the ratchet joints and the new feet, we will place them off camera on one side so you can see the differences
and then we will show you how to place them.
This is how it looks with the new foot. As for the ratchet-joints differences...
...the original ratchet-joints make bigger leap sideways
...the new ratchet-joints gives us more clicks on the legs.
That's the only difference between them and you have the ankle tilt where you can do more dynamic poses.
As for the colours on the new feet, they are darker than the original ones.
They don't look bad, just saying for information. So, let's lie down Fortress to place the other kits as well.
So, we have lied down Fortress. Unscrew these screws to place the new ratchet-joints.
It would be good to start with these screws here.
Once you start unscrewing this screw, place your finger here because there is a spring underneath, so it won't throw it away.
Leave this piece carefully down.
And remove the old ratchet-joint.
As for the new one... ...this piece, with the holes, it goes in here.
It has two slots here, you need to line it up when it will be placed in here.
As for the other one...don't lose the screw...
It has four pegs, the ratchet-joint as well, place it in here.
Place the bottom piece first.
And now we will put the upper piece.
While you're pushing down, try to watch at the ratchet-joint so it can fit in the slots.
This is the hardest part...
...to line up everything.
Come on...
Tighten this screw first to hold the mechanism.
And then tighten the other screws.
So, let's bring the camera a little bit further to see how to place the new foot.
Now the foot. Also, the package includes these stickers that you place them on here so Fortress will have a better
leg-holding when you give him dynamic poses.
As for its placement... ...open this bit. Bring this piece out.
Close it. These pieces will get in here.
And this piece will go in here.
Oh...the leg "opened"...
Not the easiest thing to do...they don't get in easily inside.
But once they are in, they stay there. So, let's lift him up now.
This is the upgrade kit. You can now give him dynamic poses because of the ankle tilt.
Also, the new ratchet-joints help as well, they give a better bend at the legs.
Generally, it is worth buying it
Let's see now the other modes to see how the feet will be placed.
We have transformed Fortress into his spaceship mode now. The feet can be removed and they can be placed up here.
To place them, you need these pegs.
The ones that have the dot up here are 6mm and the ones that don't have the dot are 5mm.
For this section, we will need two of 5mm.
One will be placed over here and one over there.
To make things easier, I have removed this piece from here.
This piece will come like this.
This peg will get in this hole. And this peg will get in this hole.
Though, this part is a little bit annoying.
Because there's no visibility. Oh, this got inside easier than the other one.
Place this piece as well.
And Fortress is ready with his upgrade kits.
They have this heliport up here.
It gives a "continuity" on the design, it makes it look much better.
You can also take this piece and place it up here.
A clarification. The way it transforms now is different, you need to rotate the waist 180 degrees
and then the legs 180 degrees as well.
So all the holes will be on the upper section, so you can put these pieces.
So let's see him now in his base mode.
Here he is in his base mode.
We have already placed one piece so you can see how it looks like.
For this section we will need one peg of 6mm and one peg of 5mm.
The 6mm peg will get in here. And the 5mm peg will get in here.
These are a little bit tight.
The foot will tab under this hole here.
Now you may wonder why we need the 6mm peg. I will show you later.
And it looks like this now.
This is the official base mode.
There is also a fan made base mode where you can use the 6mm peg and we will see it right now.
Here we are in the fan made base mode, we will zoom out in a bit to see it better.
They will tab with these holes, here and here.
As you can see it gives a "continuity". Let's see now how it looks.
This is the fan made base mode. The good thing is that this looks way better than the official one!
The upgrade kit makes him look even better.
As for its price, I bought it from Tf-direct, it costs around 44 euros shipped.
If you want Fortress to have ankle tilt... well, for me that was the most important thing, the other stuff are not so important.
The basic selling point of this upgrade kit is that it gives ankle tilt on Fortress Maximus.
Other than that, it depends on your taste if you like this upgrade kit.
That's all from us, thank you all for watching, see you in the next video!
