Waching daily May 9 2017

The 2017 Mazda CX-5 is the best SUV for you if you have a taste for the craft beer of

compact crossovers.

That's in fact a metaphor Mazda uses to describe this restyled and re-engineered CX-5.

It may go too far when it also calls the competition "passionless".

But a little pride in your work is a good thing.

Let's find out if Mazda's brewed up a crossover you ought to consider.

[start up sounds]

I'm Chuck Giametta, join me for a CarPreview video review of the 2017 Mazda CX-5

[music intro]

Mazda calls this CX-5 all-new.

Actually, it's a thorough update of the crossover that launched for 2013.

The real all-new CX-5 is still a few years away.

But the 2017 changes keep it relevant amid a swarm of rivals.

The five-seater again slots into Mazda's lineup between the subcompact CX-3 and the recently

redesigned, and critically acclaimed, seven-seat CX-9.

The CX-5 returns in a choice of front- or all-wheel drive and comes initially with just

one engine, a warmed-over version of last year's two-point-five-liter four-cylinder.

A long-awaited diesel option is due late in 2017.

The craft-beer allusion is appropriate.

Mazda's a small, independent automaker that likes to think it creates products for the

discriminating pallet.

Its strengths are efficient packaging and resourceful engineering.

Styling is a virtue, too.

The CX-5's basic body shape is little changed for 2017, and Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring models return

All get a handsome new nose that includes standard LED headlamps; on Grand Touring models,

they swivel with the steering.

Alloy wheels are again standard but get a new look.

The tail is simplified and has reshaped lamps.

And all models have dual exhaust outlets.

Mazda's proud of this new paint color, which has some of the reflective qualities of a

show-car finish.

It's called Soul Red Crystal, and it's a six-hundred-dollar option.

Beneath the skin, the CX-5's structure has been strengthened and the suspension retuned

for a softer ride.

There's more sound insulation, too.

Both are nice compliments to the revamped interior.

The dashboard looks more contemporary and the seven-inch screen that's

standard on all models is now a trendy, tablet-like display.

It's again governed by these well-designed controls.

The eighteen-hundred-thirty-dollar Grand Touring Premium Package includes this crossover's

first heated steering wheel and its first head-up instrument display.

Only the Grand Touring model gets satellite radio.

And no '17 CX-5 has a CD player; Mazda figures you'll rely on your smartphone for streamed

or downloaded tunes.

Your navigation app won't display on the dash screen, though.

For that, you need the imbedded navigation system that's standard on Grand Touring and

part of the seven-hundred-eighty-dollar Touring Preferred Equipment Package.

The Sport trim has cloth upholstery.

The Touring gets a combination of vinyl and imitation suede, plus heated front seats.

The Grand Touring gives you real leather and this upscale two-tone theme.

Passenger space is good, although heftier folks might find the front buckets a little confining.

In back, taller adults won't feel cramped and all models now have a reclining seatback.

Heated rear seats are a new Grand Touring option.

Unfortunately, the low-set cushion leaves kids and shorter people feeling a bit submerged.

Interior storage is OK, but the 2017 restyling costs the CX-5 a little cargo room.

Volume was class-average before; now it's slightly below.

A power liftgate is standard on Grand Touring and part of the Touring Preferred Package,

but it lacks hands-free operation.

Of course, Mazda believes its buyers are more interested in how a car drives than how much

they can cram into it.

On that score, the CX-5 delivers.

It moves with a satisfying directness, helped by addition of Mazda's G-Vectoring Control,

which subtly brakes the engine for sharper turn-in.

The steering is slop-free and almost delicate.

The CX-5 is unintimidated by demanding roads, though the Grand Touring's 19-inch tires do

trigger some deflection through fast, bumpy corners.

Overall, the ride is firm but never punishing.

It's best with the 17-inch tires on the Sport and Touring models.

And they don't roar as much as the 19s on coarse pavement, so there's less intrusion

into the otherwise quiet cabin.

Bottom line: For overall road manners, the only match in this class is the redesigned

2017 Honda CR-V.

As for the engine, a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder linked to a continuously variable

transmission is fast becoming the default powertrain in this class.

So Mazda's loyalty to a relatively large four and a conventional automatic seems a little

out of step.

You can't argue with the results, though.

The CX-5 isn't as outright fast as some of its turbocharged rivals or as quick as a V-6

Jeep Cherokee.

But it beats most of them for fuel economy, and has plenty of pickup for most any situation.

Better yet, it doesn't suffer the lag or weird transmission behavior afflicting some of the

turbo- and CVT-equipped competition.

This Sport button sharpens throttle response, but we're disappointed Mazda doesn't offer

steering-wheel paddle shifters to further engage the enthusiast driver.

We're tickled pink Mazda has priced the CX-5 very affordably, especially since it's added

vital safety features as standard on every 2017 model.

Chief among these is the company's Smart City Brake Support.

It can automatically stop the CX-5 to avoid a low-speed frontal collision.

The automaker's i-Activesense system expands on that with high-speed autonomous braking,

radar cruise control, and lane-maintaining automatic steering.

i-Activesense is standard on the Grand Touring and a six-hundred-twenty-five-dollar option

for the Touring model.

Oddly, Mazda forces Touring-model buyers to choose between i-Activesense and pleasantries

like the power moonroof and power liftgate.

To maximize safety and amenities, you have to move up to the Grand Touring, which - interestingly

enough -- accounts for nearly half of CX-5 sales.

For most vehicles the top-seller is the mid-level trim.

It's obvious the CX-5 appeals to people with, well, Champaign tastes and beer budgets.

We don't think other automakers necessarily have less passion than Mazda.

But most have more money to develop or acquire from suppliers conveniences like a hands-free

liftgate.

So Mazda is forced to take the artisan approach.

Fortunately, the refreshed CX-5 is the tasty result.

Tactics Explained | Tottenham Hotspur - Duration: 5:09.

This season, Tottenham Hotspur will finish above arch-rivals Arsenal for the first time

since 1994-95, and have kept the pressure on league

leaders Chelsea from the off, playing an attractive, dynamic, and high-pressing style

of football.

Mauricio Pochettino, who previously led Southampton to their then highest finish

in 8 th place in 2013-14, will oversee the team's

transition from White Hart Lane to a new stadium and has confirmed his status this season

as one of the top managers in the Premier League.

Spurs have played with two main formations this season, a 4-2-3-1 and a 3-4-2-1, though

the style of their play, with full-backs pushing

high and a central midfielder dropping deep, mean

that both systems can interchange during matches if required.

Indeed, when in possession in the 4-2-3-1, it is not unusual for one of the attacking

midfield trio, often Christian Eriksen, to drop off

and create a spare man in the centre or offer an

option between the lines for forward transitions.

Similarly, in defence in the 4-2-3-1, with Eriksen or another attacking midfielder dropping

off, the spare central midfielder, usually the

more defensively minded Eric Dier, can drop between the midfield two into a half-back

position.

This is something Pochettino did regularly at Southampton too, where Victor

Wanyama, now at Spurs as well, was the anchor who dropped in between the centre-backs when

needed.

Spurs defend narrowly where possible, with the three attacking midfielders pressing high,

and one of the two deeper central midfielders happy to cover across in the half space in

front of the full-back on the side where the opposition is attacking.

In transition, the full-backs push high, often playing as high as wingers might, while being

covered by one of the two midfielders, again usually Dier.

This is why, when Spurs move to a 3-4-2-1, it is a simple transition: the full-backs

are auxiliary wide midfielders in attack already,

and Dier is used to dropping off.

In attack, Spurs have a variety of options.

Their players are comfortable on the ball, happy to

drop into space or wide, and with Harry Kane as a direct forward who also moves laterally,

there is space behind him for runs.

In both formations, Eriksen is often the focal point around whom the attack moves.

With 34 games played, he has 12 assists, eight goals,

and has created 101 chances including assists, the most of any player in the Premier League.

Eriksen drops off into space, leaving a trident of Kane, Dele Alli, and usually Son Heung-Min

ahead.

These three can then play much as the top end of the 3-4-2-1 does, with one, often

Son, peeling wide into space before running back across the box and one, usually Dele

Alli, dropping into space ahead of the back four

before surging late into the box.

This level of movement, combined with skilful players who are used to interchanging and

capable of receiving and giving the ball under pressure, makes Tottenham hard to defend

against.

The full-backs, either Kyle Walker or Kieran Trippier on the right and Danny Rose or

Ben Davies on the left, get forwards to create overloads that allow the wider of the attacking

three midfielders to drift inside.

As wing-backs or even defensive wingers in the 3-4-2-1,

these overloads are again created and the narrower top three, where Spurs effectively

play two up and one dropping, but rotate this,

benefit from the width provided by the wing-backs getting forwards.

Both systems rely on the quality of the full-backs.

They must be able to defend narrowly, augmented by a deep-dropping central midfielder,

and then burst forwards and wider when in possession.

The use of a central midfielder who drops off into the space in front of the

centre-backs allows a degree of cover and it's noticeable that Spurs have Wanyama,

who played this role at Saints, and Dier, a converted

defender, who both function in this way so well.

Ahead of them, Spurs are flush with players who can not only pose a goal-threat, but can

also drop off between the lines and play through passes and all capable of playing in each

other's positions.

Ahead of them is Harry Kane, a superb striker who is also able to drop into

space or pull wide and shoot from acute angles accurately.

It's a potent mix, superbly coached and organised, and explains why Spurs

are pushing Chelsea all the way this season.

Bill Nye Explains Why The March For Science Was Necessary - Duration: 6:52.

>> Stephen: AND WE'RE BACK!

MY NEXT GUEST IS A TELEVISION HOST, C.E.O. OF THE

PLANETARY SOCIETY, AND AN OFFICIAL "SCIENCE GUY."

PLEASE WELCOME BILL NYE!

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) ( BAND PLAYING )

THERE YOU GO!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) WELL, STANDING OVATION.

NOT EVERYONE GETS A STANDING OVATION, BILL.

>> I HEARD ABOUT THAT.

I HEARD IT'S EXTRAORDINARY!

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) >> Stephen: NICE TO FINALLY

MEET YOU.

>> IT'S BEEN YEARS.

>> Stephen: IT HAS.

SCIENCE GUY, DID YOU JUST WAKE UP ONE DAY AND SAY MY LAST NAME

RHYMES WITH "GUY."

IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE FASHION GUY, THE MUSIC GUY, THE NAPPING

GUY.

HOW DID THAT COME ABOUT?

>> I WAS IN A WRITERS MEETING WITH RAJ SHAFFER, HEAD OF THE

COMEDY SHOW IN SEATTLE, SO WE NEEDED TO FILL SIX MINUTES.

HAD THIS IDEA FOR THE BIT WITH LIQUID NITROGEN BECAUSE WE HAVE

IT AROUND.

>> Stephen: AT A COMEDY SHOW YOU HAVE LIQUID NITROGEN AROUND?

>> THE COMEDY BIT WAS THE HOUSEHOLD USE OF LIQUID

NITROGEN, WHICH IS THE BIT YOUR NOSE COMES OFF WHEN YOU CHEW

MARSHMALLOWS.

HE SAID YOU COULD BE BILL NYE THE SCIENCE GUY.

THEN HE CLOSED HIS BRIEFCASE AND WENT OFF TO DO HIS RADIO SHOW.

A LONG TIME AGO BUT STUCK WITH ME.

ANOTHER STORY, KEAY.

>> Stephen: KEAY.

KEAY DAVIDSON AND HE STARTED THE COLUMN KEAY DAVIDSON THE

"SCIENCE GUY."

I TALKED TO HIM ON THE PHONE AND I SAID, MR. DAVIDSON, IT DOESN'T

RHYME.

HE SAID, THAT'S GOOD.

SO I STUCK WITH IT, BILL NYE THE "SCIENCE GUY."

I'M A CHECK CAL ENGINEER.

>> Stephen: THERE IS CHATTER ON THE INTERNET YOU'RE BILL NYE

THE ENGINEERING GUY.

>> FOR FOUR YEARS, IT'S PHYSICS!

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) I'M SORRY, I TOOK SIX SEMESTERS

OF CALCULUS.

IS THAT ENOUGH?

>> Stephen: YOU'RE ALSO C.E.O.

OF THE PLANETARY SOCIETY.

>> YES.

>> Stephen: WORKING ON SOMETHING CALLED -- WHICH IS BY

CARL SAGAN.

>> I TOOK ONE CLASS FROM CARL SAGAN.

MY FATHER WAS THE AMATEUR ASTRONOMER.

CARL SAGAN TALKED ABOUT SOLAR SAILING BACK DURING THE DISCO

ERA, AND, SO, I JOINED THE PLANETARY SOCIETY WHEN IT WAS

STARTED.

ONE THING LED TO ANOTHER.

YOU KNOW NEIL DE GRASSE TYSON.

>> Stephen: I DO.

NEIL IS VERY INTO WINE.

>> Stephen: YEAH.

AND THERE WAS A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, AND

SOMETHING HAPPENED, AND NOW I'M THE C.E.O. OF THE PLANETARY

SOCIETY.

>> Stephen: BECAUSE HE GOT YOU INTO SCIENCE?

>> IT WASN'T THE CANADIAN GIN, BUT THINGS WENT FINE.

( LAUGHTER ) HERE'S THE PREMISE.

THIS IS REMARKABLE.

LIGHT, ALTHOUGH IT HAS NO MASS, HAS MOMENTUM.

IT'S PURE ENERGY.

SO IF YOU CAN GET A SPACECRAFT INTO SPACE ABOVE THE ATMOSPHERE,

THE PRESSURE OF SUNLIGHT PUSHES IT THROUGH SPACE.

SO THE PLANETARY SOCIETY -- THIS WAS ONE OF CARL SAGAN'S DREAMS

BACK IN 1976.

WE TRIED LAUNCHING ONE IN 2005.

IT ENDED UP IN THE BERENT SEA WHICH IS PART OF THE ARCTIC.

WE WANTED TO LAUNCH ANOTHER ONE, LIGHT SAIL TWO, SAME UP WITH

THAT OURSELVES.

WE WERE GOING TO A HIGHER ORBIT, 400 SOMETHING MILES --

>> Stephen: HIGH THAN THE SPACE STATION.

>> OH, YEAH, HIGHER THAN THE SPACE STATION.

>> Stephen: TELL ME ABOUT THE MARCH FOR SCIENCE THAT HAPPENED

THIS PAST WEEKEND.

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) THANK YOU VERY MUCH SO WHAT WERE

YOU MARCHING FOR AND WHY DO WE NEED TO MARCH FOR SCIENCE.

>> ISN'T THAT A GOOD QUESTION?

SO, IN THE U.S. -- >> Stephen: I'M FULL OF 'EM.

NOW, FROM TIME TO TIME, I GET THE SENSE, I WATCH THE

MONOLOGUE, LIKE EVERYBODY, AND I GET THE IMPRESSION YOU'RE

CRITICAL OF THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION.

>> Stephen: I'M IN A EQUESTIONING POSITION OF THEIR

PRIORITIES.

>> YEAH, SO IN THE U.S.

CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE ONE, SECTION 8, IT SAYS "SHALL

PROMOTE THE PROGRESS OF SCIENCE AND USEFUL ARTS."

AND IF YOU HAVE AN ADMINISTRATION THAT'S IN DENIAL

ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE, IF YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO

WANT TO CUT BACK FUNDING FOR NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH

AND CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL, THAT IS PROBABLY NOT IN ANYONE'S

BEST INTEREST.

YET THERE'S A MOVEMENT RIGHT NOW ESPECIALLY IN THE U.S. SO WE HAD

A MARCH FOR SCIENCE.

( APPLAUSE ) IT'S A SURPRISING THING SOMEBODY

FELT WE NEEDED THAT.

>> Stephen: HERE'S SOMETHING ELSE YOU FEEL THE WORLD NEEDS.

OFF NEW NETFLIX SERIES CALLED "BILL NYE SAVES THE WORLD."

>> YES!

>> Stephen: OKAY, THAT IS A MUCH BOLDER CLAIM THAN MERELY

"SCIENCE GUY."

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SAVE THE WORLD, BILL NYE?

>> WELL, IT'S A HALF HOUR.

( LAUGHTER ) THE IDEA IS WE TAKE A SCIENTIFIC

PERSPECTIVE OF ISSUES IN SOCIETY LIKE CLIMATE CHANGE, VACCINES,

VACCINATIONS.

>> Stephen: I'M IN FAVOR.

AND ALSO WE DID A SHOW ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.

WE ADDRESSED THESE ISSUES FROM A SCIENTIFIC PERSPECTIVE BECAUSE

PEOPLE HAVE A GREAT INTEREST IN IT.

PEOPLE LOVE SCIENCE!

( CHEERS AND APPLAUSE ) THESE ARE IMPORTANT ISSUES

BECAUSE EVERYBODY -- WHEN I WAS AT THE WORLDS FAIR IN 1965,

THERE WERE FEWER THAN 3 BILLION PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.

NOW THERE ARE 7.3, ALMOST 7.4 BILLION PEOPLE, THERE ARE

GOING TO BILLION 9 BILLION PEOPLE AND 10 BILLION PEOPLE AND

THOSE PEOPLE WILL WANT TO EAT AND HAVE ACCESS TO WATER AND

ELECTRONIC INFORMATION.

IN ORDER TO HAVE TOES THINGS, YOU HAVE TO HAVE SCIENCE!

>> Stephen: GOOD LUCK SAVING THE WORLD.

>> WITH YOUR HELP, IT WILL BE A PIECE OF CAKE.

THANKS FOR HAVING ME.

IT'S BEEN FUN!

>> Stephen: "BILL NYE SAVES THE WORLD" IS ON NETFLIX.

WELL BE BACK WITH A PERFORMANCE BY ROGER WATER!

ORAS Student Council Elections TU Delft 2017 - Duration: 2:07.

On the 17th and 18th of May, you can choose who will represent you on the Student Council.

We will tell you in this video what ORAS stands for and what we want to achieve next year.

ORAS represents motivated students who are actively involved in the student life in Delft,

the students who want to get the most out of their study.

We believe that you will become the best engineer by the combination of top-notch education,

supported by good facilities and extensive opportunities for personal development.

But what are we aiming for on these three topics next year?

First of all, education.

Education has to be top quality.

Our study programs are becoming more and more popular, but this should not affect the level of our education.

Therefore, more students should mean more teachers!

ORAS wants you to learn to manage your time and be flexible.

To do this, you should be able to decide how and when you study.

That's why ORAS wants fewer obligations in your education!

Due to capacity problems, the TU Delft has introduced evening lectures.

This limits you in doing things like sports or working for a committee

Evenings should be free from lectures!

Next up, facilities

Finding a spot to study is getting harder and harder

Last year, we have helped create 100 new studyplaces in the Library.

Next year, we aim to open one of the faculties during weekends!

Collegerama is essential to study flexibly.

It allows you to rewatch lectures you might have missed or to repeat a tough lecture

ORAS wants all your lectures to be recorded in Collegerama!

And, lastly, personal development.

Every student should have opportunities to develop himself personally.

whether you have your own enterprise, join in a Dreamteam or a committee.

ORAS cares about personal development!

ORAS is involved with Sports & Culture.

To allow everyone to exercise, there has to be enough space.

For next year, we want to create more pitches outside!

This is what we aim for next year.

Every vote will give us more power.

So vote on the 17th and 18th of May for ORAS!

New Cars For Less Than $13.5K - Duration: 7:50.

Driving in Lebanon is an adventure of its own.

We gathered 4 cars that cost less than $13,500 including registration and VAT.

These cars are easy to drive, their maintenance doesn't cost much and parking them is as easy as it gets.

Before we get started, I would like to highlight the fact that these rides are their category's bestsellers here in Lebanon.

We took a note of their fuel level before going on a ride in Beirut and we'll check out which has consumed least at the end of this video.

Eversince the Chevrolet Spark's update and aesthetic revamping, it started carving itself market shares.

Its sales went up and it became a serious rival for cars of the same category.

Let's go inside.

Usually, cars in this category come with no features such as ABS and airbags.

But since security is a must for Chevrolet, it added to those features Break Assist and ESP which help in case of emergencies or while driving on slippery roads.

What are you doing here?

What are you all doing here?

We remembered you were shooting today so we thought we'd come and help.

And what's all that you're carrying?

Open the trunk please.

OK so there's a laptop case here but let's try.

So, all comfortable?

I'm alright. You should ask those sitting in the back.

Can you move your seat a bit?

Yeah sure, no worries. Better?

A bit more…

Now I'm the one lacking space!

That's not a problem. What you should worry about now is the music. How are you sharing the music?

We can do it via Bluetooth.

Yes, sure!

I like that song. How are you decreasing the volume?

Steering wheel control man.

What's great about the Chevrolet Spark is its numerous features.

Other than the steering wheel control, I can control the mirrors from here and its sound system is just wow.

It has 6 speakers. Other cars come with 4 when this one has 6.

Great equipment then.

And its also great performance wise. It has a 1.4l engine, which is great for this category.

Just see for yourself.

OK, easy on that!

Now our second car: the Datsun.

As you all know, it came back in 2016 and it took no time at all to see Datsuns on Lebanese roads.

Let's check it out!

So how does this one feel?

Comfortable from my end. Jawad, should I move my seat?

No, I'm fine.

Great then!

What about the trunk?

We were able to put everything inside.

Great so no space issues this time. Ok.

We could have fit in twice as much.

Know what's nice about the Datsun? It's actually bigger than the other cars we are featuring while being in the same price category.

Ok.

Also, it's the only car featuring a touch screen and rearview camera which is great for parking.

And the touch screen has Bluetooth, radio and camera linked to it as well as USB ports, right?

Yes sure, you can control everything.

But I think we can all agree on the fact that this car's biggest downside is its interior which could really be improved.

Knobs and buttons could also be smoother.

Do we even need to introduce you to the Kia Picanto?

For the past 7 years, it's been the best seller in Lebanon.

To its great advantage, people view it as the best choice when it comes to fuel consumption.

Is this true? We'll find out at the end of this episode.

So Nadim, what do you have to say about this one?

Well it actually lacks features that are found in the other cars we have on the list.

But Picanto is a ride that won't fail you: there's no Bluetooth, but there's an AUX port.

It's an easy ride and one should not forget it's the cheapest car on our list today.

Yes, that's true.

It is in my opinion a huge advantage.

Honestly we weren't able to get a car from the dealership.

The car doesn't have ABS and airbags

I personally think that if Picanto wants to remain a bestseller, ABS needs to become a standard, as well as airbags.

And well, it's getting a bit cold in here!

Yes, well we all agreed on the fact that Picanto's AC is the strongest one on the list!

I'm happy here, the cold doesn't bother me.

Let's say it's a summer car!

What about stability and driving experience?

It's definitely better than the Chevrolet Spark.

In what sense?

It's easier to handle.

We all know and grew accustomed to the Hyundai i10.

Now comes the Grand i10, bigger and more spacious, which is set to replace the regular i10.

Although it exceeds our set budget by $100, a special offer including one year maintenance, one year insurance and 200l of fuel makes us think it is a good option to consider.

So Nadim, how does driving a Grand i10 feel?

It feels great! I'm not feeling movement as I did driving the Picanto.

But one must not forget that this car is bigger, which is sure to impact the driving experience.

One great feature we're going to shed the light on now is that this car is the only one to feature tiptronic.

It's great to drive.

What about stability?

I think it's the best one stability wise. Now I'm taking a turn.

We are going at full speed.

What's also good about it is the seats. They are my favorite among all the cars we featured.

Being a bit more expensive than the set 13,500$ budget, it should have ABS or airbags, or at least one of both.

We are now in front of a gas station. Let's see which of the 4 cars consumed less fuel.

As you noticed, each car has its own advantages.

I would like to highlight the fact that these cars are all at entry level and are bestsellers in Lebanon.

If you would like to see other cars in the same price range, leave a comment.

Don't forget to subscribe, and we'll see you soon.

Tesla Listed Among Potential Takeover Targets For Apple

How much would you pay?

We have heard this before. Tesla and Apple should join forces, rather than poaching one anothers employees, or becoming direct competitors in the future.

Apple has been talking about jumping into the auto industry for some time now, with its very secretive Project Titan. It seemed for awhile that maybe this was going away, but now the company is openly testing autonomous cars in California.

Apple also started its own energy division in the recent past. It seems that if Apple has the choice to go head to head with Tesla, or just buy the company out, the latter would make much more sense.

Going to bat against Tesla, and Elon Musk, in an industry in which you have no prior footing, may be a bit risky. But heck.

Apple is sitting on $250 billion in free cash. Hypothetically, the tech monster can acquire just about anyone it wants or needs, and do just about anything it chooses.

published a list of seven companies that are potential Apple takeover targets, including Tesla, Netflix, Hulu, Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, Take Two Interactive Software, and Walt Disney.

Jim Suva, an analyst for Citigroup, told his clients that over 90-percent of Apples free cash is sitting in overseas accounts.

As part of a new tax plan, it would cost the company a 10-percent repatriation tax to access the then $220 billion in monies to acquire virtually any company it wants. He explains:.

President Donald Trumps proposed tax plan will let multinational companies reel in overseas profits at a 10-percent tax rate, as opposed to the 35-percent that it currently costs.

If Trumps plan works out, companies will be smart to take care of any acquisitions or buybacks, utilizing this money while it costs them less.

Suva considered strategic fit, global scale, transaction size, few non-strategic assets, and likely impact on Apples share price, when choosing the top companies for the list.

Despite continued talk of this idea, both Elon Musk, and Tim Cook have said publicly that there is no plan to join forces.

TWICE's new concept for 'Signal' criticized for being too similar to EXO's concept - Duration: 2:32.

TWICE's new concept for 'Signal' criticized for being too similar to EXO's concept

TWICE. The girl group is getting ready to make their comeback with Signal, and for the new release, they took on a unique concept in which each member is given a supernatural power.

Nayeon and Jungyeon have the super power to control time, Dahyun has the power to duplicate her body, Sana can turn invisible, Jihyo has x-ray vision, Mina can hypnotize, Tzuyu has extreme strength and Momo has the power of speed.

TWICE has turned into supernatural figures from outer space for Signal. SEE ALSO:.

Netizens agree that TWICEs new concept is indeed very unique, however, not very original. Many are claiming that their concept is greatly similar to the concept of EXO. .

In 2012, EXO debuted with the concept of supernatural powers and it is known to be their signature concept til this day. Regarding the similarities between TWICE and EXOs concepts, netizens commented, Why is JYP doing this.

, EXO fans have the right to be upset, Im not a fan of both groups but you know you automatically think of EXO when you think supernatural powers.

, Wtf, please stop copying their supernatural power concept, We need feedback from JYP.

On the other hand, some netizens stated, I dont think this is worthy of controversy. Their style doesnt really overlap, Its not like EXO created the supernatural concept.

I dont understand what the big problem is, I dont see the issue at all. EXO are not real aliens or really have supernatural powers, and theyre not the creators of the concept so.

Is there a reason why other groups cant do this? People are overreacting.. Get K-POP Merch @ allkpop The Shop.
