Waching daily May 2 2017

Nine Minutes...

I have no IDEA what to talk about.

...

Please enjoy the rest of the video :)

Comment free.

No really.

What are you still doing with captions on?

This song has no WORDS

Do you really think I took the time to write something for the whole video ???

The song is called BLEH

bleh

bleH

blEH

BLEH

I mean. Who would spend more than 10 seconds with captions on?

You must be weird

Ok tell you what.

Ok tell you what.

I'll give you a prize if you turn off captions... Yeah...

Maybe that will get you to turn them off.

But to get the prize, you have to turn off the captions.

Ok. Got it.

YOU turn off the captions and I'll put a secret word somewhere in the song. Like... Peanut Butter. YEAH! PEANUT BUTTER! and you...

in your infinite wisdom

turn off captions.

Send Peanut Butter to bobbypuckettmusic@gmail.com, and I'll send you a song of my choosing.

Are you still there?

Fine. Send "Mint Jelly" to bobbypuckettmusic@gmail.com and I'll send you three songs. I'll even let you pick one or two ;)

But that's it. No more free music.

Hey folks what's up my name is Noah Chrysler The RIT Newsman and this is springfest 2017

(ah ah ah)

We are here with: Sam! I'm an event manager for CAB.

My partner Sam Heckle and I planned this entire event.

What is your favorite part of Springfest?

I just love seeing all the students getting involved and having fun.

We have a springfest committee that works hard all semester long to get these events going.

Is it kind of a little bit of a competition with Freezefest?

No there's no competition, this Springfest is so much bigger than Freezefest.

We're competing for the best looking pizza, the best tasting pizza and the most creative pizza.

Who are the contenders of the contest?

We have Gracie's, Commons, Brick City Cafe, Brick City Catering, RITZ, and Crossroads.

Who do you think is in the lead?

Gracie's has a cool garbage plate pizza over there.

Brick City Catering has a tasty taco pizza.

I think those are the two winners right now.

We are here with Ian Hogue.

Will.

This looks really good, what kind of pizzas are you serving today?

It is barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, pickled onions, and pulled pork.

How many students do you think you could serve?

320.

That's not that many.

I was expecting like 10,000 students.

A BILLION STUDENTS!

We are here with Autum Geer.

You were on the team that invented the Taco Pizza?

My team and I kinda saw this on facebook and

we thought it would be a huge hit with the kids

Taco pizza, you can't really go wrong on a college campus right?

Do you guys often compete with Gracies?

We're all friends and family here but you know.

You gotta win, you gotta win!

We are here with Dominique Hall, Victoria Trip.

Who do you think is serving the best pizza?

It's either Gracies with the garbage plate pizza or RITZ with the extreme taco pizza.

MY favorite is the pulled pork.

Have you done a lot of the Springfest events here?

I always go to the Feezefest stuff.

What are you looking foreward to today?

Just dancing to the music, chilling out, enjoying the weather.

puppies, and the little kittens, those are great.

Hi my name is Hayley Johnson the RIT Newswoman and this is Dance in the Dark!

We are here with Andrew Lanos, David Michels, Elliot, Kyle.

What's your favorite part of Dance In The Dark?

Free Tshirts everywhere.

The food.

I'm looking foreward to the food and also having a great time.

Can you guys show me dance moves?

I really like the boxed face one, you know, like...

This is it.

Just shoulders.

We are here with Christain Vanderhoff.

My favorite part of Springfest is everything that happens is completely done by me and

the other staff.

You heard it here first, Christain is the only one who works on this event.

We are here with Ken.

Ken I can see myself in your glasses and it's kind of throwing me off a little bit.

What is your favorite thing about springfest?

Probably the free food and petting the animals.

Have you been looking forward to this?

I was taking a nap and then I got a text from my friend saying

"Hey Springfest's today" and I was like "What?"

And I see the giant Coca-Cola Mountain (yeah) and I was like wow!

Guys thank you so much for watching,

If you enjoyed this video please go like it.

How To Make a Store Counter for Dolls - Duration: 5:22.

[Music: Rosie's Tea Party theme song]

Doll store display cases

Hi Everybody!

I'm going to show you a super fast, super easy

way to make a store for your dolls

These are drawer organizers from the dollar store

You'll need one that's clear plastic

and one that's woven

Their great for organizing your pens

pencils, markers, brushes

All kinds of stuff

But I have another purpose for them today

Take a woven one and turn it upside down

Cut out a piece of cardboard

8 and a half inches long and 3 inches wide

and put it ontop

Take the clear one and place it upside down

And presto magic! Look at that!

Your instant display case!

And you can decorate the front if you like

Sometimes the sticker leaves a sticky goo

That could easily be removed with Goo Gone

I'll do that later

Last one

There's that sticker

I'll take it off later

Look at that!

Wo-hoo!

3 awesome display cases ready for a store

This one is going to be an ice cream shop

For the ice cream tubs, you'll need containers like this

They come 8 in a pack from the dollar store

You've find them in the craft aisle

They're made for storing beads and small stuff

But I'm going to use them as ice cream tubs!

And the ice cream is Play Doh!

This white Play Doh is going to be vanilla ice cream

You can leave it as plain vanilla

or make it something else

It's so easy to turn this into another flavour

by just adding things to it

I'll turn this into chocolate chip ice cream

by just adding brown beads

Just push it into the Play Doh

How easy was that?!

Let's get the ice cream tubs out!

I made some awesome flavours!

Blueberry Ice

Raspberry Royal

Strawberry Sherbet

Lemon Custard

Mango Tango

Good old fashion vanilla

Chocolate Thunder!

Cappuccino

Bubblegum

And chocolate chip!

On goes the cover

And voila!

It looks like an ice cream parlour freezer!

To keep the Play Doh from hardening

to can keep the lids on the tubs

when you're not playing with them

This is the perfect height for dolls like Strawberry Shortcake

H! Welcome to my ice cream shop

What flavour would you like?

This store is going to be a bakery

I'm using all the play food

that came with my Strawberry Shortcake dolls

I got a pie

muffins

cookies

croissants

pretzels

No. I think they're cookies

Well it's looks like a big pretzel

More cookies

Cakes

Cupcakes

More cupcakes

Oh my goodness

This looks so cute!

Okay. On goes the cover!

Wedding cake goes on top

Here's a 3 tiered server

This could be for little Play Doh cookies or chocolates

Here's Raspberry Tart

The proud owner of this bakery

How may I help you today?

Chocolate chip cookies?

How many would you like?

This one is going to be a jewelry store

Anything sparkly and shiny will look awesome in here

Gems

Necklaces

Charms

Rings

Pretty beads

Earrings in every birthstone

Crystals

Oh my goodness. Everything looks so pretty!

Now for the cover

Who will be the owner of this jewelry store?

It's Plum Pudding!

She has the perfect earrings for you!

Look at all the cute stores!

Wasn't that easy?

Now that you've seen 3 different store display cases

Which one is your favourite?

The ice cream shop?

The jewelry store?

Or the bakery?

Post your answer int he comment section

or click on the icard and take our poll

You could make a store for your own dolls

What kind of store would you make?

I made this counter a little higher

for Bratz dolls

Hmm. I think it could be even higher

I'll show you this store counter in another show and tell

Thanks for watching and see you again soon!

Health Benefits of Almonds - Almonds for Beauty, Skin, Hair, Nails - Duration: 5:42.

Health Benefits of Almonds - Almonds for Beauty, Skin, Hair, Nails 1. Keeps skin healthy Almonds are a great way to pamper your skin. They can improve skin complexion, reduce the severity of sun damage and make your skin healthy from within. The high vitamin E content in almonds helps to combat harmful free radicals and even oxidative damage, which can have an impact on the skin. / Just a 5-minute body massage with almond oil after taking a bath can work wonders for your skin. For a weekly skin treatment, prepare a scrub by mixing 10 soaked almonds and a little honey. Use this scrub once a week to get rid of dead skin cells and add a healthy glow to the skin. To increase the health of your skin from the inside, add 2 to 3 teaspoons of sweet almond oil to a cup of warm milk and drink daily. 2. Reduces wrinkles and fine lines Vitamin E, a strong antioxidant in almonds, is essential for the regeneration of new skin cells that help keep skin plump and moisturised. In addition, it can tighten the skin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, crow's feet as well as age spots. / For a daily treatment, apply a little warm almond oil over your wrinkles. Massage gently for at least 5 minutes. Do this every night before going to bed. For an anti-wrinkle compress, combine 1 tablespoon almond powder, 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix well and apply to face. Let it dry, then rub and rinse your face with warm water. Use this facial pack once or twice a week. 3. Promotes healthy hair Being rich in nutrients capable of protecting like vitamin E, biotin, manganese, copper and essential fatty acids, almond oil promotes healthy hair growth. In addition, the oil penetrates deep into the stems of the hair and softens the scalp tissue to treat inflammation of the scalp. / Massage your scalp in circular motions with warm almond oil mixed with a few drops of rosemary and lavender essential oils. Leave it on for 2 hours, then shampoo as usual. Do it 2 or 3 times a week. Another option is to heat 3 tablespoons of almond oil, 2 tablespoons of castor oil and petals 2 or 3 hibiscus flower for a few minutes. Allow it to cool, then massage your scalp with it for 10 minutes. Wrap your head with a towel and allow it to sit for 1 hour. Shampoo and hair conditioner. Do this once a week. 4. Decrease dark circles Massage the skin under the eyes with a few drops of almond oil. Leave it overnight. The next morning, wash with cold water. Mix 5 or 6 drops of almond oil in 1 tablespoon of raw honey. Apply it gently on the skin under the eyes before bed. Leave overnight, then wash with cold water the next morning. 5. Lighten Dark Lips Apply a few drops of almond oil to your lips and massage gently. Do this every day before bedtime. Prepare a mixture with equal amounts of castor oil and almond oil. Use it to massage your lips once or twice a day to lighten your colour. Mix 5 or 6 drops of almond oil with 1 teaspoon honey and lemon juice. Apply on lips, wait 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Use twice a day to enjoy soft pink lips. 6. Strengthens weak nails Massaging with almond oil will improve blood circulation, making your nails stronger and healthier. Massage a few drops of almond oil into your nails for a few minutes. Put on the cotton gloves and then go to sleep. The next morning, wash your nails with warm water. Repeat this beauty remedy daily. 7. Reduces Dandruff Almond oil easily penetrates deeply into the scalp to nourish and moisturise the scalp, thus eliminating flakiness. It also provides relief from itching. Mix equal amounts of almond oil and neem oil. Massage it into the scalp. Leave it overnight. Wash the next morning. Do this 2 or 3 times a week.

mHealth for Maternal Mental Health: Everyday Wisdom in Ethical Design - Duration: 0:31.

Ethical approaches to design are increasingly important, especially for health and wellbeing

applications.

But what does this mean and how do we bring ethical approaches into our design processes?

User-centred and participatory design guides our thinking but are not always enough - especially

with conflicting value systems to consider.

Our study introduces different kinds of knowledge that can bring everyday wisdom into ethical

design and explain how to use it with a case study of an app for psychological wellbeing

in pregnancy.

Hermitage, TN | Jim Payne Helps First Time Home Buyers Find House of Their Dreams - Duration: 1:04.

We have really enjoyed having The Mohr Group take care of us.

Jim Payne has been fantastic with teaching us, as first time home buyers, everything

that we needed to do.

We did not know what to expect coming into this.

He went through multiple types of loans and showed us from 4 or 5 different options that

we could do, and found out the best route for us.

He put multiple offers down on the house and gave the best advice in a seller's market,

and we got the home of our dreams!

Yes, we're so excited.

Brandon has been really great, too, as far as the financial side has gone.

Explaining to us everything to expect, and how to financially prepare.

When things would come up, it's been good to have him having our back in telling us...

hey look, this doesn't look favorable to you.

It's been very helpful and we feel very confident that we'll definitely go back to him, because

they've helped us out.

When we're ready to sell, Jim's our man.

Absolutely!

MarkPad: Augmenting Touchpads for Command Selection - Duration: 0:31.

We present MarkPad, a technique using touchpad to trigger a large number of commands.

Gestures start from visual or tactile marks on the border to finish on another mark anywhere.

Touching a starting area displays the corresponding gestures after a small delay.

These gestures can be performed faster, without visual feedback.

Markpad allows opening applications, files or web pages and executing commands.

Gestures can be spatially organized by the user to highlight semantic relationships.

Zensei: Embedded, Multi-electrode Bioimpedance Sensing for Implicit, Ubiquitous User Recognition - Duration: 0:31.

Zensei is a versatile technique for effortless identification and personalization on any

object using bioimpedance sensing though an array of electrodes.

Bioimpedance information allows us to identify the physiological and behavioral aspects that

are unique to the user.

Zensei can collect and classify this information seamlessly requiring no explicit action by

the user.

We demonstrate three example configurations showcasing Zensei's versatility and identification

capability as well as a number of potential application scenarios.

A Unified Framework for Knowledge Assessment and Progression Analysis and Design - Duration: 0:31.

A key challenge in education is to find the optimal sequence of knowledge to present to

a particular student.

In this work, we present a unified framework that utilizes automatic problem decomposition

and partial ordering graph construction to facilitate knowledge assessment and progression

analysis and design.

Our framework can efficiently assess students' knowledge of Japanese grammar based on the

Rasch model, and reveal similarities between two Japanese textbooks in terms of introducing

grammatical knowledge.

Essence: Olfactory Interfaces for Unconscious Influence of Mood and Cognitive Performance - Duration: 0:31.

The sense of smell is perhaps the most pervasive of all senses

But it is also one of the least understood and least exploited in Human Computer Interaction

We present

Essence

Olfactory Interfaces for Unconscious Influence of Mood and Cognitive Performance

Most of today's interfaces assume that our decisions are the result of rational thinking.

However, the unconscious perception of our environment also affects our behaviour in a more instinctive way.

We aim at creating interfaces that interact with the unconscious mind;

both influencing it with a targeted stimuli and perceiving unconscious signals.

"Essence" is the first olfactory computational necklace that can be remotely controlled through a smartphone

and can vary the intensity and frequency of the released scent based on biometric or contextual data

Microprocessor, Bluetooth Low Energy

Direct Current (DC) to Alternating Current (AC) converter

battery

Stick filter

Fragrance container

3D printed screw cap

Piezoelectric

Conductive cord and Vcc/GND

Wireless Communication with the smartphone

The ultrasonic sounds produced by the piezoelectric transducer are inaudible to the user

but they are capable of breaking the water into small particles of vapor.

Muse EEG monitors brain activity

E4 wristband monitors HRV, EDA

Essence releases scent based on biometric or contextual data

Potential Applications

Mindfulness and Wellbeing

Monitoring the brain frequencies we can detect when the user is in states of peak performance, high focus or concentration.

Using HRV, EDA and brain frequencies we can also detect when the user is relaxed or falling asleep

Quality of Sleep

Brain activity (Deep Sleep - SWS)

Essence system, EEG and E4 Wristband

Learning and Cognitive Performance

Sense of Immersion

Essence can be customized with other fashion accessories and jewelry

The EEG sensor can be easily covered using hair bands and hair accessories

Where Usability and Security Go Hand-in-Hand: Robust Gesture-Based Authentication for Mobile Systems - Duration: 0:30.

Our work studied the preprocessing and recognition methods for gesture passwords.

We analyzed 12 gesture recognizers and designed a superior one, called Garda.

Our novel multi-expert recognizer, Garda, achieved the lowest error rate in both authentication

accuracy and imitation attacks.

As well as resisted all brute-force attacks.

The best combination for recognition is having all three parameters set as invariant.

The optimal combination for authentication reduces the error rate by 45% compare to the

recognition benchmark.

Structured Input Improves Usability and Precision for Solving Geometry-based Algebraic Problems - Duration: 0:30.

Current educational user interfaces with graphing tasks used the structured visual widget as the default input method.

As the prevalence of natural sketch based input, we ask the question whether sketch input will be more efficient and preferrable than structured visual widget input method.

We compared two geometry input methods, sketch-based input versus structured visual widgetn by developing a bimodal user interface that allow students to enter algebraic expressions and geometric shapes separately.

AirPanes: Leveraging Two-Handed Around-Device Interaction for In-Air Pane Switching on Smartphones - Duration: 0:31.

Exploring information with multi-pane user interface forces users to frequently switch

back and forth between panes which can be tedious and time-consuming.

We propose AirPanes, a novel strategy to structure a mobile interface, using panes located in

mid-air around the device.

With an m-commerce scenario, we demonstrate how the in-air space could be used to support

analytic decision-making tasks which require browsing through large item sets with frequent

switching between panes.

Trust, but Verify: Optimistic Visualizations of Approximate Queries for Exploring Big Data - Duration: 0:31.

Data analysts need interactive speed for exploratory analysis.

But big data systems are often slow

because of the large number of data points that have to be processed.

These systems have to pick a sample to quickly compute an approximation at the cost of accuracy.

With optimistic visualization we approach these issues from a user experience perspective.

Our method lets analysts explore approximate results interactively, and provides a way

to detect and recover from errors later.

Our system Pangloss implements these ideas in a visualization system.

With Pangloss, analysts are more confident and use optimistic visualization to check

that their preliminary results were correct.
