What is Lupus? - Duration: 0:39.

Lupus is the reason the Lupus Research Alliance even exists.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect the skin, brain, joints, kidneys, or other

organs in your body.

Lupus can cause a patient's own immune system to turn against itself.

It will then mistakenly attack the healthy tissue and cells, causing all sorts of problems.

Fever, fatigue, chronic inflammation, and sensitivity to sunlight are just a few of

the symptoms of lupus.

We don't really understand what causes lupus and there's no known cure.

But, the good folks at the Lupus Research Alliance are working around the clock to change that.

When Empathy Is Not Enough: Assessing the Experiences of Autistic Children with Technologies - Duration: 0:30.

During our participatory design work with autistic children in the OutsideTheBox project,

we found a conceptual gap when trying to assess the experiences the children had with the

technologies they co-created.

Using Actor-Network Theory and Critical Discourse Analysis we construct a rich picture of these

experiences from multiple perspectives.

This allows us to put an emphasis on the children's point of view while still acknowledging the

importance of their social network.
