Tips For Doing Gel Nails At Home | With Tutorial - Duration: 4:17.
Hi guys welcome back to my channel today I wanted to give you my tips for doing
gel nails at home also with a tutorial at home gel nails will last just as long
as salon gel nails if they are done properly right now my nails are prepped
the same way I would for a regular polish old polish was remove they're
filed and shaped the way I want and my cuticles are pushed back pushing back
your cuticles is very important for gel nails because the gel polish won't stick
to skin or cuticle and your gel will end up peeling out now I'm going to prep
specifically for the gel nails I like to very lightly buff the surface of the
nail just enough to remove the shine this helps the gel stick to the nail you
don't want to file or buff too much or too hard because it will damage your
nails after you're finished buffing you'll want to wash your hands to get
rid of any dust or excess oil on your hands but before you wash your hands
you'll want to get everything set up your lamp your polishes and any of your
other supplies because after you wash your hands you're gonna want to touch as
little as possible so you don't get any oils dust or fuzz on your nails next
you're gonna grab a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol I use 70% concentration
but a higher concentration would work best and I'm just going to put some of
that alcohol in a towel and remove any excess oil on my nail you can also do
this with acetone if you prefer next I'm going to grab a base coat I'm
using the OneDor brand but it doesn't matter which one you use but you're
gonna want to grab a little amount on the brush you don't want your base coat
to be too thick I like to get as close as possible to the cuticle area as I can
without touching my skin this takes a little bit of practice
now I'm just going in and removing any excess base coat with gel polish it is
much better to work with thin coats than thicker coats the polish is too thick it
won't cure properly
next I'm gonna cure that for the given amount of time with an LED lamp it is
usually 30 or 60 seconds but it'll state on the bottle now I'm starting with my
color polish I'm using the Gelaze polish in the shade liquid leather which
is just a basic black I'm gonna do the exact same thing I did with the base
coat getting as close to the cuticle without touching it and working in thin
layers with gel you don't have to rush because the polish won't dry until you
cure it so you can go over it as many times as you want or need it takes a
little practice to get close to the cuticle without touching it and close on
the edges but it's very important that you don't flood the cuticle or side area
because the polish will end up peeling up after a few days it's better to stay
farther away from the cuticle and edges if you feel like you can't get as close
without flooding it
you'll also want to make sure that you cover the tip of your nail and then just
cure this for the given amount of time and this is what the first coat looks
like after its cured then I'm just going in with the second coat and doing the
exact same steps again
and you can see right here that I did get a little bit on my skin and I just
want to make sure that I get this off before I cure it since I am doing just
the one hand I can just use the nail on my other hand but typically I do both
hands so I would just use a toothpick to get that polish off and then just cure
that coat and this is what the second coat looks like after its cured for this
polish I did to decide to do a third coat just because I didn't think it was
completely opaque so I'm doing the exact same thing all over again and then
curing that coat just like the last two and this is what the third coat looks
like when it's cured next I'm going in with a top coat I'm using the Gelaze
top coat which the writing has also been wiped off and it's basically the same
it's applying the other coats of polish you want to cover as much as the nail as
possible without touching the skin and coat the tip of the nail as well
and then we are just going to cure the top coat for the given amount of time
and this is what they look like so since this is a top coat that needs to be
wiped off I'm using the Gelaze cleaning pads but if you don't want to worry
about this step they do make no wipe top coats that you wouldn't need to do
this but we're basically just removing the sticky layer and I'm just gonna add
some cuticle oil and we're all done

Two years ago, Stacey Dash's Oscars appearance was one of the most painfully awkward moment
from any awards show. Move over, Kanye.
Now, the actress and controversial conservative pundit is appearing somewhere else: a ballot.
That's right, folks. Stacey Dash is running for Congress. This is real life.
Back in the '90s, Stacey Dash starred in the cult classic film, Clueless .
It's a beloved film, but some of its stars haven't fared so well.
There was the tragic death of Brittany Murphy.
Alicia Silverstone is alive and well ... but wrote a parenting book that espouses views
characterized as anti-vaccination. That's never a good look.
And then there's Stacey Dash who emerged in 2012 as a conservative pundit whose outlandish
and often unsupported statements made headlines and made heads turn.
Stacey worked for Fox News for a while -- she's both a beautiful woman and a conservative,
so she really fit their brand -- but the network did not renew her contract in 2017.
Stacey Dash is now, however, running for Congress.
Yes, the Congress of the United States of America. She filed the paperwork to run in
California's 44th district, looking to unseat Democrat Nanette Barragan.
And yes, she's making "Dash to DC" a real thing.
It's worth noting that the district tends to vote for Democratic candidates, and includes Compton,
Watts, San Pedro, and North Long Beach.
Some guess that Stacey Dash believes that a beautiful woman of color (and celebrity)
might have a fighting chance in flipping the district.
Stacey Dash's history calls that into question.
See, Stacey Dash wasn't always an outspoken Republican. In fact, she wasn't always a Republican.
She apparently supported Barack Obama during 2008. Over time, however, she came to believe
that Obama's policies were "socialism."
(This is in part a result of the polarization that causes people on both sides of the political
aisle to view free market capitalism as the only form of capitalism, as if welfare capitalism
isn't sitting right there)
At that point, she decided that she wouldn't be "pressured" into supporting Obama or other
Democratic politicians simply because she's black or a woman.
She supported Mitt Romney in 2012 and has continued to be an outspoken conservative
ever since.
Stacey Dash running for Congress might be a surprise to anyone who expects people to
make good choices, but she's actually been threatening to run for office for a little
while now.
On February 9th, she tweeted:
"A number of people online and off have suggested I run for political office. I wanted to see
what my online community thinks of this idea as I mull the possibilities. Thoughts?"
On February 22nd, she tweeted: "Things are taking shape." She followed that with "Soon."
Fans and followers who saw those vague tweets could only conclude that she was either making
good on her threat to run for office or constructing some sort of laser on the moon. It was the
former.
We don't know what her strategy for flipping a district that voted 83% for Hillary Clinton
in 2016. That will be interesting to watch.
As for Stacey Dash choosing now to run ... we suspect that February being Black History
month has little to do with it.
She's stated -- or, as some characterize it, she's parroted racist criticisms in a bid
for acceptance from white conservatives -- that Black History Month shouldn't exist.
(Forgetting, perhaps, that without such occasions, some people find it all too easy to focus
on white accomplishments. Spending the shortest month of the year to pay attention to the
struggles and deeds of a minority isn't too much to ask, right?)
Stacey's taken a number of controversial stances that don't even have to do with race -- such
as suggesting that transgender people should "pee in the bushes" instead of using bathrooms
with cisgender people. Yikes.
Some ask if Stacey Dash is making this run to try to build her brand. Others wonder if
she just wants attention -- though surely she's read enough mean tweets about herself
by now.
