Overseas peoooooooooo
ooooooooooooople!!!
In March, these kinds of avatars
and events celebrating girls often appear, don't they?
That's because March 3rd, in Japan, is...
a day called HI-NA MATSURI. (Trns. "Doll Festival" or "Girl's Festival")
Hinamatsuri is when we pray for the healthy growth and happiness of girls.
It's a Japanese event.
We put up displays of "hina ningyo" (dolls)
have "hina arare" (candy) and "hishimochi" (sweets)
and pray for the healthy growth and happiness of girls in this event.
Hina dolls are said to take the bad luck that may fall upon children...
...in place of children.
First!
Hina arare!
It's a candy made from mochi rice.
Pink
Green
Yellow
White
These 4 colors are said to represent the 4 seasons.
They hold the hopes that girls will be happy all year long.
Next is...
Hishimochi!
It's a type of mochi-sweets (made of rice), and the colors seem to have meaning.
Green is for avoiding disasters and good health
White is for longevity, cleansing, and purity
Pink is for avoiding evils and detoxification
So they have meanings!
That's why, when March comes, in games
we see avatars like hina dolls
and events celebrating girls suddenly appear!
We made this video for people overseas playing Japanese games
so that these players can enjoy the games more by understanding some Japanese culture.
But it's not just for Asobimo games.
I also just wanted you to know.
So I think you can enjoy the games and events and such even more.
And with this
Japanese people
and people overseas
we can all enjoy these games together, I hope!
If you like, please share this video with your friends
from around the world who play Japanese games ♪
