hey YouTube how's it going? So in today's video... it's actually going to be
featuring one of the easiest parts that you can install on your 10th Gen [Honda]
Civic so stick around.
alright guys so in my hand right here I have the acuity
accelerator pedal relocation bracket. Now essentially this part is supposed to act
as a spacer for your throttle pedal. In this video clip you can clearly see that
for me especially it's hard to "heel-toe downshift" when I'm entering a corner or
when I'm doing some aggressive braking. So on the other hand acuity has created
this bracket in order to change two things about throttle [pedal] placement.
They want to be able to adjust the side-to-side relationship between the
brake pedal and the accelerator pedal, and secondly they want to pull the brake
pedal a little bit forward so you guys can actually customize, in three
different ways, how you want your throttle pedal relocated. So a close-up of
this part, you can clearly see the positions A, B, and C that acuity has
designed in order to relocate your accelerator pedal. I'll try my best in
this video to show you guys what each of the three positions will do to the brake
pedal to give you guys a more visual inspection. Now that I've explained all
that, time to install this part... and it should be pretty straightforward because
it takes three bolts to remove the stock pedal, and I think it's one electrical
connector. And acuity provides these awesome fasteners that is actually color
matching to their brand (which is beautiful) to mount the stock pedal back
to this bracket once this bracket is mounted to the chassis.
Disconnect the battery before working on any electrical connectors
nuts are 12mm
All hardware is torqued to 10ft-lbs (120 in-lbs)
alright guys so now that everything is installed time to take it for a test
drive and test how it actually feels. All right guys so it's the next day. I didn't
actually get the test drive last night, mainly because it got through dark, but
today I'm actually sitting in the car before I actually go on a test drive
just to give you guys my first impressions on the actual part. So as you
can see here in [braking] position, see the spacer has already done a world of the
difference, even at 1/3 of the way down (for the brake pedal).
it's already right there. that I can actually just kick the throttle as I'm
braking. So I imagine the further down the brake pedal goes it should line up
evenly let's turn the car on
so as you can see there the pedal is all the way down and the throttle is right
there. Oh, that is so nice now. So if you're planning on getting one of
these spacers, I highly recommend you play with each position just to see
which one best suits your shoe size, the shoe type you like to use when you're
driving, and basically just the positioning you like to use when you are
"heel-toe down shifting" on the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal. So
right off the bat one of the first things you'll notice is the pedal is
definitely closer to you. It's gonna take a little bit just to get used to it but
it really only took me a couple minutes,
third [gear[...second [gear]...
this is awesome
ready... forth to third [gear] again
nice! Wow, downshifting is so nice now. I know I'll be saying this a lot, but
if I wasn't filming you'd probably be able to do this mod within about 15-20 minutes.
(TBH) So it was just three bolts, three new fasteners, one electrical
connector... and an instant performance gain in terms of down shifting and such.
So if you're looking to get an instant performance gain on your tenth gen
Civic, especially if you're planning on driving more aggressively and stuff like
Auto cross or track days or just mountain roads in general, I highly
recommend you guys to get this throttle [pedal] spacer you guys won't regret it.
The three positions they provide, (I think) will give you the best options in terms
of your foot size, shoe size, whatever, you name it. So big thank you to ACUITY
