"JOYCE, I'VE NEVER BEEN MUCH INTO CHURCH, BUT LONG TO HAVE MY

OWN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

I FEEL HE DOESN'T HEAR ME OR ISN'T LISTENING.

THERE ARE BILLIONS OF PEOPLE ON EARTH.

CAN HE HEAR ME, SEE MY PAIN AND SORROW AS I SEEK HIM,

OR DOES HE NOT EVEN EXIST?

I'M AT A CROSSROADS, BUT I DON'T WANT TO GIVE UP."

JOYCE: WELL, OBVIOUSLY GOD IS EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME, AND HE

DEFINITELY HEARS US EVEN WHEN WE'RE NOT PRAYING ACCORDING TO

HIS WILL, HE STILL HEARS US.

BUT 1 JOHN 5 SAYS THAT WHEN WE ASK ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL,

HE HEARS US, AND WE KNOW WITH ABSOLUTE AND SETTLED ASSURANCE

THAT WE HAVE GIVEN TO US THE THINGS THAT WE'VE ASKED FOR.

BUT THERE'S NOTHING IN THERE ABOUT WHEN THEY MANIFEST.

AND I LOVE THIS STATEMENT THAT A DELAY FROM GOD IS NOT A DENIAL.

ACTUALLY, WHEN WE'RE NOT GETTING WHAT WE WANT AS QUICK AS WE

THINK WE SHOULD HAVE IT, THAT'S WHEN REALLY OUR FAITH IS BEING

TESTED AND WHEN WE'RE GROWING.

NOW, I REALIZE THAT THIS IS SOMEBODY WHO'S LOOKING TO KNOW

THAT GOD IS REAL.

AND SO, THEY'RE WANTING GOD TO DO SOMETHING IN THEIR

CIRCUMSTANCES TO PROVE THAT HE'S THERE.

WELL, I CAN'T SAY THAT GOD NEVER DOES THAT, BUT HE CERTAINLY

DOESN'T ALWAYS DO IT BECAUSE FAITH IS THE SUBSTANCE OF THINGS

THAT WE HOPE FOR, THE EVIDENCE OF THINGS THAT WE DO NOT SEE.

SO, I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE JESSE TO LOOK TO HIS HEART

INSTEAD OF HIS CIRCUMSTANCES.

AND I MEAN, REALLY HOW CAN YOU NOT BELIEVE THAT GOD IS REAL?

I MEAN, TO ME, IT WOULD TAKE MORE FAITH TO BELIEVE THAT GOD

IS NOT REAL THAN TO BELIEVE THAT HE IS.

HOW COULD WE POSSIBLY EVEN LOOK AT THE WAY OUR OWN BODIES

FUNCTION AND ARE PUT TOGETHER AND JUST HOW AMAZING THEY ARE,

AND THINK THAT ALL JUST KIND OF SORT OF HAPPENED ONE DAY?

AND SO, BELIEVING IN GOD IS THE BASIC FOUNDATION TO ANYONE

HAVING A GOOD LIFE.

YOU KNOW, NOW I DON'T BELIEVE THAT GOD IS GOING TO GIVE US

THINGS THAT ARE NOT ACCORDING TO HIS WILL.

SO, I DON'T KNOW WHAT JESSE'S ASKING FOR.

IF HE'S ASKING FOR SOMETHING THAT'S NOT RIGHT, THEN GOD'S NOT

GOING TO GIVE IT TO HIM.

AND I THINK WHEN YOU HAVE A DEEP ENOUGH RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD,

AND YOU KNOW, IT TOOK ME A FEW YEARS TO GET TO THIS,

BUT I'VE KIND OF COME TO THE POINT WHERE I BELIEVE

THAT IF GOD DOESN'T GIVE ME WHAT I'M ASKING FOR,

IT'S NOT BECAUSE HE'S HOLDING OUT ON ME AND WANTING TO MAKE ME

MISERABLE.

I BELIEVE IT'S BECAUSE HE HAS SOMETHING BETTER IN MIND,

AND I'M JUST NOT WISE ENOUGH TO KNOW HOW TO ASK FOR THAT

BETTER THING YET.

GINGER: YEAH, IT'S OFTEN MERCY, ISN'T IT?

JOYCE: SO, WHETHER GOD GIVES ME WHAT I WANT OR HE DOESN'T

GIVE ME WHAT I WANT, GOD IS STILL GOOD, AND HE HAS OUR BEST

INTEREST IN MIND, AND THINGS WILL COME OUT RIGHT IN THE END.

GINGER: AS I READ THIS QUESTION FROM JESSE, IT SAYS,

"I LONG TO HAVE MY OWN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD."

SO, IT SEEMS LIKE THE HOLY SPIRIT

IS WILLING AND WORKING THERE, THAT THERE IS SOMETHING

THAT IS HAPPENING OR THAT STATEMENT WOULDN'T EVEN

MEAN ANYTHING.

JOYCE: WELL, AND TO BE HONEST, THE THING FOR HIM TO GO

AFTER IS NOT SO MUCH WHATEVER IT IS THAT HE WANTS TO SEE GOD DO,

BUT PURSUING THAT RELATIONSHIP.

BECAUSE WHEN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM IS RIGHT, THEN YOU'RE

ABLE TO TRUST HIM TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT AT THE RIGHT TIME.

SO, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE SEEK GOD'S FACE AND NOT HIS

HAND, TO SEEK TO KNOW HIM AND NOT JUST WHAT HE CAN DO FOR US.

HE'LL GET THERE.

Weight Control #LifeHack - Hunger Is Fake News - Duration: 6:20.

Hey guys, Steve here.

Today we're going to talk about a life hack for weight control.

And we're not going to,... we're going to put behind

all of the ideas of lap-band surgeries, liposuctions,

working it off after the fact at the gym,

dieting it off after the fact, or even suffering through it to not put it on in the first place

by suffering through diets.

Let's talk about changing the game. Let's talk about taking it to another level.

Let's talk about training our brains, out of hunger.

What is hunger? We can teach ourselves that the message is but a message from our stomachs

to our brains that's interpreted as hunger.

But we teach ourselves that that's a blind message. That's an ignorant message.

It only knows if our stomachs are full or empty.

It doesn't know if we have stored food, stored body fat on us or not, or what our goals are.

It only one thing. It's a really ignorant, simple message.

Once we train ourselves of that concept, educate ourselves on that,...

and then, if we can also separate ourselves, cutting our umbilical cord from food a bit

by doing fasts periodically. I'm not a doctor. I suggest you find a program, a fast that you like.

But if you haven't done one, I suggest them.

It's a great way, among the other benefits, of cutting that umbilical with food.

Once we see that you can go for a couple of days or even a week or more

and still be at the gym, still be working out, still be functioning at a high level,

we realize that we don't need food on any given moment like we think we do.

And therefore when we feel that message of hunger, we don't need to instantly

start searching our brains for what will be that next food, that next thing that satisfies that need.

Because we're obeying our ''hunger'' on that level.

Once we've cut our umbilical cord, once we've trained our brains, those are just educating ourselves

on those facts. But then we can actively train our brains as well.

When that message comes, that moment, the very instant that the hunger message comes and we realize

oh, is that... What's that? That moment, every time,

let's tell ourselves, let's recognize this, let's actually look down at our stomachs,

pinch (to measure the fat thickness) our belly fat, feel it, see it, think about it.

How much belly fat do I have, and how much belly fat do I want?

It's just a representation of our total body fat of course, but

as a reference point, see it, feel it, touch it, think about it,

and recognize that it's ''fake news''. It's just a message from our stomachs that

doesn't get what our brains are after. Our body fat goals.

It doesn't understand anything but its own needs. And so,

on every single time, if we train ourselves, if we think about that for a split second,

even if we continue on to the refrigerator and satisfy that hunger, satisfy that need,

that our stomachs are demanding from us,

little by little, we're going to be training ourselves that message is fake.

That message is not based on information, more than our brains can provide,

by just looking and feeling.

Once that message is defeated, we literally can get over the hump of hunger.

Stop feeling ''hunger'' literally. I still get hungry for example, I can still feel hungry, but

it's not like,... it's not ''hunger''. It's not,... I can go for days without thinking about hunger.

Sometimes I feel something in my stomach and I think, oh, am I getting,...

Maybe the last thing I ate isn't setting with me well.

Then I think about it,... well, it's been like a day and a half since I've had much of anything to eat,

I might be hungry. That's how foreign hunger can be.

And that puts you in complete control, cutting that umbilical cord completely!

Now we're free to eat what we want to eat, what's healthy, when we want to eat.

How many times do we something, maybe fast food because we needed to fill ourselves and go on the run?

We don't need food like that. Once we cut that need, that cycle, that filling of that process

of every time that we feel that sensation of ''hunger' that we have to fill it.

Let's not even feel the sensation of hunger. We'll defeat that before it even becomes ''hunger''.

and never even get there. So that's my life hack. That's my life hack about hunger

and maintaining body fat control. I'm just in process. This is me still on my way down.

So don't pay too much attention to this. But uh,

maybe check back with me in another handful of months.

This last year and a half or so has just been every day, a little bit leaner,

with no effort, chips and salsa and beer. But,

obviously you know, the gym is,... I'm not saying the gym,... a healthy appetite,...

A healthy diet (and everything else) is absolutely important.

But we've got to defeat this issue before it even becomes an issue.

Let's hack this concept of hunger in our own brains. Alright?

That's my advice on hunger. Let me, again, let me know,...

I'm hoping that... It took me about 3 years probably before I crossed over this hump.

And I'm hoping, I didn't know it was possible, so I'm hoping that sharing this with you,

I'm hoping that perhaps, knowing that it's possible and maybe having a little bit of a guideline for it,

maybe you could do it faster. So I hope you guys leave comments below and let me know what your experience

is with the idea of Conquering Hunger, in our own brains, before it is even ''hunger''.
