Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson Was Never in Fear for Bailey's Survival: "I Live Too Much in Denial" - Duration: 4:46.

Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson Was Never in Fear for Bailey's Survival: "I Live Too Much in Denial"

Miranda Bailey, you had us worried for a minute.

In last nights stellar episode of Greys Anatomy, our favorite Chief of Surgery found herself on the receiving end of some subpar medical care at neighboring Seattle Presbyterian when she realized she was having a heart attack, but couldnt convince any of the narrow-minded docs at the lesser hospital that she knew what she was talking about.

The emotional hour put us through the wringer, shedding some light on Mirandas upbringing and allowing the luminous Chandra Wilson to bask in the spotlight she so rightly deserved, but in the end, the fiercely devoted doc pulled through, coming to terms with hubby Ben Warrens (Jason George, who has departed Greys as a series regular for the upcoming firefighter spinoff Station 19) career change in the process.

E! News sat down with Wilson to break down her standalone episode and she admitted that, while we all mightve been biting our nails about her chances of survival, she never once entertained the thought that this mightve been the end of the road for Miranda Bailey.

I think I live too much in denial to be able to receive that Miranda might die, Wilson told us with a laugh.

So I dont think I allowed myself to go to that place. In fact, when the creative mind behind the emotional storyline came to Wilson with the idea, she admitted that she found it too powerful to turn down.

Elisabeth Finch, our writer of the episode, made such a great pitch to me about what it was going to be about.

Basically she went scene by scene and let me know the whole arc of the story and it was beautiful, the actress said.

I was looking forward to, right in that moment, shooting that episode because I wanted to hit all of those moments that she had just spelled out for me..

Though the inspiration came, loosely, from Finchs own experience being diagnosed with cancer, Wilson explained that the pitch was never meant to see Bailey stricken with that particular illness. It was always going to be about heart disease and Baileys journey with that, but coupling that with [Finchs] experiences in the emergency room, my experiences in the emergency room advocating for my daughter whos a cyclic vomiting syndrome sufferer, she told us.

If youre in pain, trying to speak for yourself is really difficult to do. Thats why having an advocate with you is always so important and I think we wanted to kind of drive that point home because misdiagnoses will happen.

Doctors are human beings, theyre not gods that we would like them to be..

While Bailey already made it clear to Richard (James Pickens Jr.) that she has no intention of taking time off, lest her perceived weakness undermine her position of authority, Wilson told us that shes looking forward to playing a Bailey who has been fundamentally changed.

As an actor, I love the fact that not only is obsessive compulsive disorder always kind of lying in the innards of what I do, but now I think, when you survive something like a heart attack and you go through heart surgery, you are forever changed in a way, she said.

There is a heightened awareness of your body, a heightened awareness of when somethings off and Im looking forward to exploring that all the time in Baileys own way..

As for her post-op admission to Ben that she doesnt want him to spend a day doing something that makes him unhappy, finally giving him her full blessing to pursue his new, dangerous career path, Wilson admitted that, despite Baileys drug haze in the moment, this new outlook on things will stick.

To a point. She 100 percent means that he shouldnt waste a single day without being happy. None of us should because life is too short.

But I can also see her side-eyeing everything that has anything to do with the fire department, she said, laughing.Shes not going to go back on her word.

Thats not the kind of woman that she is, but for him and for herself, its important to live your life and be happy in the life that youre living..

When it comes to how shes dealing with losing George as a scene partner on Greys, Wilson was relatively zen about the whole thing, joking that its pretty much par for the course for the actor who plays her husband. There are few ABC shows that Jason George hasnt been on.

Like I tell him all the time, youre just doing what you do, she said with a laugh.

But Ive already had the opportunity to go over and have fun on Station 19, so you guys will get the chance to see that. Basically, were just kind of going back and forth as we expand the land..

And if youre still worried that the move might tear their marriage apart, dont be. Its about being able to show that, look, this marriage is solid. Its not great all the time, but its not going anywhere, Wilson added.

So how do these characters ebb and flow [through] that? When I go to Station 19, it feels foreign, you know? So maybe I have to mark my territory a little bit.

And then when he comes back over to Greys, thats kind of like a comfort thing. Its like coming back home..

Welcome to The Aidan Mack Show!

(music fades)

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Aidan Mack Show!

Everyone loves a story of someone giving back to the community.

I recently read two articles today and I feel they're worthy sharing with you all at hom.

These articles talk about two guys.

One in Philadelphia, and one in New York City.

Both of these touched my hearts for what they did for their cities.

(insert picture of Brennon Jones giving a haircut to a homeless man)

Let's start with Philadelphia first.

This is Brennon Jones and he's a fashion designer.

After work he tends to give money and food to homeless people and as

he was doing that he realized that, it's not the most effective way to give back

and it's not the impact he wants to make.

It all started with the conversation with one homeless person.

Jones asked him how he felt about people giving him money

and he said it's a nice gesture.

He also asked about how he felt about people giving him food,

which he also said was nice.

Then Jones asked him about getting haircuts.

He had no desire to go to a salon because he didn't want to

deal with other people's reactions to homeless people.

Then Jones asked how he would feel about bringing the salon to him,

wherever he was located.

(insert picture of Jones giving a haircut to a homeless man in the street in a different part of town with a sign in the background that says, "Haircuts for the Homeless.")

So Jones went ahead and brought the salon to the streets and started giving haircuts.

When you look good, you feel good, just like a breath of fresh air.

After that, Jones realized to keep this going and thus creating,

"Haircuts for the Homeless,"

(insert picture of Jones giving another haircut to a homeless man in another part of town with the same sign up)

which can be set up on any street,

wherever is the most comfortable for homeless people.

And the haircuts just keep on coming!

Which led to a good samaritan who noticed what Brendan was doing.

This guy's name is Sean Johnson,

who happens to be a barbershop owner in the area.

(insert picture of Brennon and Sean together)

He wanted to meet with Brennon and once he met up with Brennon,

he offered to hire him and pay him to do the haircuts for the homeless.

Brennon politely declined the offer and said,

"It's just something I'm passionate about, to give haircuts to homeless people,

but thank you."

After the conversation, Sean was thinking about what else he could do

and then he realized there was an available shop in

the area so why not offer it to Brennon.

(insert picture of Brennon and Sean standing outside of the barbershop together)

Brennon was a little on the fence with going forward with it.

Then Sean made the point to at least utilize it during the winter time.

It's too cold to stand outside and give people haircuts.

(insert picture of Brennon and Sean together in black shirts one reads, "Spread Love," the other reads, "Tappers Barber" *spelling?*)

Brennon realized that he made a good point and both of them went to the shop to give out haircuts.

Brennon realized he made a good point

and they both went to the shop and their dream became a reality.

The shop is called Phenomenon Perfection.

They offer "makeover Monday's" for homeless people who

can't afford services and the rest of the week the shop is open for regular paying customers.

The proceeds from the haircuts will be

donated to local food banks and percival needs ready to be given to homeless people in the area.

It's really nice.

Sean Johnson felt like this experience was totally worth it.

Sometimes his regular shop is busy, he can send his

customers right over to the other shop and not have customers waiting along for a haircut.

Also on Monday, people from the shop go

to the new shop to help out for the homeless people and their needs.

This story really touched my heart.

So the next...excuse me,

(Aidan Mack takes sip out of "#love" white mug)

You know it's wintertime when having the heat on makes your mouth so dry.

Anyway!

The next story is in New York City!

(insert picture of Mark Bustos giving a haircut in the streets of NYC)

This is Mark Bustos, he's a high-end stylist in the industry

and has been involved in many, well-known magazines.

One day he was staring out of his window and was wondering how he could give back

and seeing all the negative in the world occurring,

Mark decided that he wanted to do something special and spread positive

energy and hope to this world.

He thought haircuts specifically for homeless people would work.

(insert picture of Bustos giving a haircut to a homeless man, a picture next to it shows the after results of the haircut and the homeless man smiling)

Mark hit the streets of New York City and found homeless people and gave out haircuts.

(insert another picture of Bustos giving a haircut in the streets of NYC to a man with shoulder length hair)

After their haircuts, homeless people felt good about themselves.

Mark and his family are originally from the Philippines, which they traveled to quite often.

(insert picture of Bustos giving haircuts in the Philippines to a group of children surrounding the barber chair)

They also rented a barbershop chair and lines started forming with poor

people who couldn't afford haircuts.

One, young, twelve-year-old boy was sitting in the chair looking sad as he was getting a haircut.

He just thought he was getting a same old regular haircut,

but this wasn't just any regular haircut.

He felt like he looks so much better and

gave a smile to Mark and that really impacted him.

So, he decided to continue going forward.

It's really a good thing to give back to the community.

It's something I will do once my show gains success.

Thank you for tuning into my show,

and thank you Casey and Domenick for interpreting my show.

(insert video of interpreters signing, "Thank you, Bye!")

Thanks guys!

Fundraiser for dad who attacked Larry Nassar takes off - Duration: 2:02.

Fundraiser for dad who attacked Larry Nassar takes off

A GoFund Me page has been set up for the hero dad who attacked the disgraced USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar in court on Friday.

The "Show support for Randall Margraves" fundraised close to $10,000 in less than three hours from more than 200 supporters. The original goal was only $1,000.

The creator of the fundraiser, identified as co-worker Aaron Pangborn by MLive, wrote on the page it was made "to help a brother and friend in need. Supporters commended Margraves actions and said any father would have done the same thing.

"From one Union Family Man to Another. Proud of you Brother, Too bad you didn't get a few licks in," Cory Mara wrote on the page.

"As the father of 2 girls, the video made me cry….that you were stopped before you reached him. I would do the same. God Bless you and your family," Robert Wykoski wrote.

Margraves attacked Nassar Friday morning after listening to his two daughters deliver victim-impact statements detailing the sexual abuse Nassar inflicted on them.

He called Nassar a "son of a bitch" and lunged at him before court officers tackled him to the ground and arrested him. He faced a contempt of court charge but was released without any penalties after apologizing for his actions.
