what's up guys, I just showed up to the doctors office this morning.
And yes, I'm smiling to be at the doctors, because today after 2 and a half months, I
get this stinkin cast off.
so lets get in here get this taken care of and then lets chat a little about what that
means for you guys and this channel.
It's free.
All this really red pink area is where there was a ton of dead skin.
I'm just trying to get it all off right now.
Disgusting.
Pretty stiff.
Alright, Got back from the doc, Cast is off.
Now all that I have is this thumb spica splint thingamajig, which actually kinda sucks.
I would rather have a cast almost, other then the fact that this can come off.
It's just kinda uncomfortable.
Maybe it's because that cast kinda became a part of me, it was on so long.
hmm Anyway it's pretty great having this thing taken off now, because this one unVelcros.
Now I can start the physical therapy process.
So I've been playing with Jazmin's toys.
Been squeezing this ball here, which has been great.
And I've been using this one to just kind of massage around on the muscles, on the tendons,
feels really good.
you know it's interesting because this is the first time that i've ever been in a cast
so this is the first time I've experienced all of this stuff.
So for those of you who have never worn a cast, Let me enlighten you a little bit here
on what the sensation of getting the cast off is.
It's pretty nuts, the skin here is so sensative.
just touching something that's slightly cold or kinda hard, feels like ice. and luke warm
water felt like boiling water super super hot.
Just really sensative running my fingers over it, just that hightened sensation because
all of these nerves have been so under-utilized for the last 11 weeks since they were last
out in the open and free.
So anyway, I've just been doing some PT stuff here.
Trying to get some of my dexterity back along with muscle memory and body control.
So I'm really glad that I got to come home a couple of days early from Texas so that
I could get all of this stuff done without having to waste time when Jenn's here. and
I can really sit down here and focus, work on some control muscle memory and get some
of this stuff back Because whether you want to admit it or not Rehab takes alot of time
I mean I cant even bend my wrist beyond about there ok, so establishing a good full grip
on the handgun about 2 hours ago was completely impossible I just couldn't get my left hand
to do what it was supposed to do.
Now, things are getting closer Starting to work, which is really exciting.
And why is it going to be so great Well I mean when you're in a cast even just doing
the normal basic every day living stuff becomes really difficult Stuff like washing your hands.
Opening up a package of fruit snacks.
Putting on a watch, buttoning your pants, or putting on a pair of shoes all becomes
really difficult when you can only use one hand Let me tell ya I mean even one of the
most basic of human needs, being able to maintain hygene and wash yourself completely becomes
extremely difficult when you cant get your freaking arm wet.
Geez I mean basically what I'm trying to say is that Getting this cast off is going to
be a huge game changer for this channel Especially considering that the bulk of the videos that
I do are shooting related Adventure related or some sort of gear or product review and
test so it will be nice to actually be able to go out and hit the range and do some proper
testing And really get a start on those training videos that we were talking about Hey this
shirt actually works now.
So stay tuned everybody because I guarantee you the adventure only gets better from here.
Untill next time, take care of yourselves every body Make it a great day Peace out.
