From DailyDoseOfWeirdNews.com, I'm Darren Marlar and this is your Daily Dose of Weird

News!

A quick reminder – this coming Saturday is my first official LIVE CHAT.

It's taking place May 6th at 3pm Central Time (that's 4pm Eastern, 2pm Mountain,

or 1pm Pacific).

We'll do a Q&A of course, I might have a Weird Darkness story to tell, and every single

person who joins the live chat will have an opportunity to download my one and only LIVE

standup comedy album, "Truth or Darren".

It will only be available during the live chat though, and once the chat is over the

link I share during the live broadcast will be changed and no longer work!

Tune in LIVE or you miss out entirely!

That's this Saturday – I hope you can join me!

The world's oldest man, who claimed to be 146 years old has died in Indonesia.

Sadly, just when he was finally able to afford retirement.

A former FBI translator working in Detroit secretly flew to Syria three years ago where

she married an Islamic State terrorist leader she was supposed to be investigating.

***They bride and groom promised to love, honor, and cherish each other until suicide-bombing

death do them part.

The Trump Administration is planning to roll back nutrition standards for school meals.

***In fact, Twinkies will now count as vegetable.

Morgan Joyce Varn is a 24-year-old mother in North Carolina and her mug shot just went

viral thanks to her choice of tattoos.

It's not the little heart on her left cheek, or the floral decoration around her neck,

or even the writing above her left eyebrow, or whatever that is going on with her forehead

that have people so stunned.

It's more the fact that her EYEBALLS have been tattooed!

Varn was taken into custody along with Jonathan Mikael Robinson on charges of kidnapping,

armed robbery, and property damage.

It is alleged that she mugged a man taking his mobile phone and money before inviting

him into her home.

And did we mention that she let someone stick needles in her eyes?

Austria is trying to figure out a way to tax Google searches.

No, that's not a joke.

Austria is trying to figure out a way to tax Google searches.

Are we getting a little over-terrorist-paranoid America?

Obviously we always want to err on the side of caution but Colgate University went on

lockdown and students were ordered to remain in place for four hours Monday night while

police investigated reports of a gunman on the upstate New York campus.

There was a guy with a gun alright - but it was a student using a glue gun for an art

project.

***Well, what do you expect from a university named after toothpaste?

ABC is going to bring back "The Gong Show" with Mike Myers hosting.

***If he says "scha-wing" or "groovy baby" even once I'm gonging him and changing

the channel.

A robotic drill could be the future of surgery and could help cut the time of a routine brain

operation from two hours to two-and-a-half minutes.

Developers believe the computer-driven tool, which works like Google Maps, could play a

pivotal role in future surgical procedures.

***Because this is what we want: complex life & death brain surgery done AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!

("I've got a TEE TIME IN 15 MINUTES!!!

So LET'S DO THIS!!!")

Police in California were forced to taser a man who got into a heated argument with

his wife.

The argument began when the man failed to notice that she'd had her hair done.

***As a husband, let me say... yep, that'd do it.

A study says it is more energizing to walk stairs than drink caffeine.

That's why I always double-down and only go to Starbucks on the second floor.

A former Russian Defense Minister spokesman says the Russians have been secretly planting

nuclear bombs off America's coast so that they can be detonated, causing huge tidal

waves that will destroy American cities.

***Wait a minute, is this a news report, or a leaked premise for the next 007 movie?

A New Jersey florist was arrested for stealing flowers from a cemetery.

She claimed that she was simply tidying up the cemetery.

***Which is why she was wearing her usual nighttime gardening ski mask.

BREAKING Trump Just Did Something Huge For Churches That Will Make God Smile - Duration: 2:08.

BREAKING Trump Just Did Something Huge For Churches That Will Make God Smile

Thank God our Churches are Saved!

All praises go to the Lord our God today after President Donald Trump signed a Huge executive

order that takes down one of the nastiest liberal laws of all.

Trump just took down the Church-hating Johnson Amendment.

This essentially means that, as of today, Churches and places of worship can begin supporting

politics without risking their tax-exempt status.

While signing the bill Trump said,

"Today my administration is leading by example as we take historic steps to protect religious

liberty in the United States of America.

We will not allow people of faith to be targeted, bullied or silenced anymore."

The Johnson Amendment isn't the only big thing President Trump did to save religion

today.

His order also makes it so religious organizations no longer have to pay for things like abortion

under Obamacare.

I think it's also important to say that today Donald Trump fulfilled one of his biggest

campaign promises.

He said he would repeal the Johnson Amendment and protect churches and that's EXACTLY

what he is doing now…

So let's all send as many Shares and "Amens" to the President as well as our Benevolent

Lord Almighty for this act today.

You know God himself is looking down and smiling knowing that our Churches are safe again.

Steny Hoyer: GOP Will 'Rue The Day' They Voted For AHCA | For The Record | MSNBC - Duration: 5:44.

MENTAL HEALTH, MATERNITY CARE, ADDICTION SERVICES -- ALL GONE.

WITH ME, HOUSE MINORITY WHIP STENY HOYER.

YOU CAN SEE HIM, HERE 7 YEARS AGO STANDING BEHIND PRESIDENT

OBAMA AS HE SIGNED OBAMACARE INTO LAW.

HE JUST VOTED NO TODAY ON THE GOP BILL.

NICE TO SEE YOU, SIR. >> GRETA, GOOD TO BE WITH YOU.

>> LET ME ASK YOU SOME QUICK QUESTIONS.

THE PRESIDENT SAYS PREMIUMS ARE GOING DOWN.

HAVE YOU READ THE BILL AND IS THAT WHAT YOU UNDERSTAND?

>> I'VE READ THE BILL, BUT ALSO VERY IMPORTANTLY, I'VE READ THE

CBO REPORT THAT IS THE INDEPENDENT CONGRESSIONAL

ADVISOR ON FISCAL MATTERS, AND THEY SAY PREMIUMS ARE GOING UP

24 TO 29% FOR THE AVERAGE POLICYHOLDER.

SO, ANY SENSE THAT WHAT TRUMP REPRESENTED AS LOWER COSTS

CLEARLY IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN IN THIS BILL.

FURTHERMORE, OF COURSE, HE SAID EVERYBODY WAS GOING TO HAVE

INSURANCE. CBO SAYS 24 MILLION PEOPLE

MINIMUM ARE GOING TO LOSE THEIR INSURANCE.

SO, FROM THOSE STANDPOINTS, THE TRUMPCARE BILL DID NOT

ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE PROMISED. >> ALL RIGHT.

YOU SAY THE CBO'S SCORE. I WAS UNDER THE UNDERSTANDING,

TELL ME IF I'M WRONG, ONE OF THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS BY SOME ON

YOUR SIDE OF THE AISLE MAINLY, AND EVEN SENATOR GRAHAM IN THE

SENATE, IS THAT IT HADN'T BEEN SCORED.

IS THAT YOU TALKING ABOUT THE SCORE PREAMENDMENTS?

>> GRETA, THAT'S CORRECT. THE AMENDMENT HAS NOT YET BEEN

SCORED AND OF COURSE PAUL RYAN HAD REPRESENTED YEARS AGO AND

RECENTLY THAT WE SHOULDN'T CONSIDER A BILL THAT DIDN'T HAVE

A CBO SCORE. THIS BILL DIDN'T, IN THAT SENSE,

BUT THE ORIGINAL BILL WHICH WAS PASSED AT THE SAME TIME IT

BECAME ONE BILL, THE ORIGINAL BILL, CBO SCORE WHICH WAS NOT

CHANGED, AS LOSING 24 MILLION PEOPLE FROM INSURANCE OVER THE

NEXT FEW YEARS. SO, FROM THAT STANDPOINT, THAT

SCORE IS STILL VALID. WHAT IS NOT SCORED IS THE NUMBER

OF PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO LOSE PREEXISTING CONDITIONS, THE

COSTS THAT THERE WILL BE TO THOSE FOLKS IF THEY CAN POSSIBLY

GET COVERAGE, NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PREEXISTING CONDITION.

SO, THAT'S THE SCORE WE DID NOT GET FROM CBO.

>> ALL RIGHT. REPUBLICANS HAVE SAID THAT

OBAMACARE WAS GOING TO COLLAPSE, IT WAS CATASTROPHIC.

IF NOTHING HAD BEEN -- WELL, ASSUMING THAT THIS GOP BILL

NEVER GETS SIGNED INTO LAW, WHAT WOULD YOU PREDICT WOULD HAPPEN

TO OBAMACARE IF IT'S LEFT ALONE AS IT IS?

>> IF IT'S LEFT ALONE, BUT OF COURSE THE REPUBLICANS HAVE NOT

LEFT IT ALONE. WHEN TRUMP TOOK OFFICE, ONE OF

THE FIRST THINGS HE DID WAS TO TELL IRS NOT TO WORRY ABOUT THE

MANDATE. OBVIOUSLY IF YOU'RE GOING TO

HAVE INSURANCE, YOU NEED A BROAD COHORT OF INSURED SO YOU CAN

SPREAD THE RISK. AND THEY HAVE UNDERMINED THAT

ALREADY. OBVIOUSLY THEY HAVE UNDERMINED

THE CONFIDENCE OVER THE LAST SIX OR SEVEN YEARS SAYING THEY

WANTED TO REPEAL IT, IT WAS A BAD BILL.

BUT GOING FORWARD, IF THEY DO NOT SABOTAGE IT, ONE OF THE

THINGS AS YOU KNOW, WE HAD AN ARGUMENT ABOUT, IS THE

COST-SHARING SUBSIDIES SO THAT PEOPLE OF LITTLE INCOME WILL

HAVE NOT ONLY THEIR PREMIUMS PAID, BUT THEIR COPAY AND THEIR

DEDUCTIBLES THEY'LL GET HELP WITH.

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANIES'

STANDPOINT BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY MARKETED AND PRICED THEIR

PRODUCT AT GIVEN THAT THAT WAS IN THE LAW AND THAT SHOULD BE

PAID. SO, UNFORTUNATELY THE

REPUBLICANS WITHOUT THE PASSAGE OF A BILL CAN SABOTAGE THE

BILL'S WORKING, UNDERMINE THE CONFIDENCE --

>> IF WE LEFT OBAMACARE AS IS, WHAT HAPPENS?

>> CBO SAYS OBAMACARE OR AS WE LIKE TO CALL IT THE AFFORDABLE

CARE ACT, WILL STABILIZE, WILL DO WHAT IT'S INTENDED TO DO,

OPEN UP INSURANCE TO -- AND MAKE IT AFFORDABLE FOR A VAST NUMBER

OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC. SO, IF, IN FACT, THE REPUBLICANS

AND THE ADMINISTRATION COOPERATE IN CARRYING OUT THE LAW AS IT'S

WRITTEN, THEN CBO SAYS IT WILL BE STABLE.

>> ALL RIGHT. I WILL SPARE YOU MY SINGING AND

ALSO SPARE MYSELF SO IT US

DOESN'T END UP ON YOUTUBE, THERE WAS JEERING, MOCKING BY

DEMOCRATS, HEY, HEY, GOOD-BYE, YOU KNOW THE SONG.

>> I'M NOT GOING TO SING IT EITHER.

>> I'M NOT GOING TO ASK YOU TO SING IT.

I'LL SPARE YOU A YOUTUBE PRESENCE, TOO.

WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THAT JEERING?

>> I THINK IT WAS SPONTANEOUS AND A REFLECTION OF, I THINK, A

BROAD FEELING IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY THAT REPUBLICANS ARE GOING

TO RUE THE DAY WHEN THEY VOTE THIS BILL.

THERE ARE ONLY 217 OF THEM. IT WAS A VERY CLOSE RAZOR THIN

MARGIN. I THINK THERE WAS A STRONG

FEELING ON OUR SIDE OF THE AISLE THAT THIS VOTE IS GOING TO PROVE

TO BE VERY, VERY HARMFUL TO THE INTERESTS OF REPUBLICANS IN THE

CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES WHO SUPPORT IT.

IT IS GOING TO UNDERMINE HEALTH CARE.

IT IS GOING TO UP PRICES. IT IS GOING TO PUT A SENIOR TAX

ON THOSE BETWEEN 50 AND 64, VERY SUBSTANTIAL ONE.

AND IT IS GOING TO MAKE HEALTH CARELESS AVAILABLE.

SO, I THINK OUR FEELING IS THIS WAS A BAD VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS.

WE'VE NOW SEEN HUGE CHANGE, 25% GREATER SUPPORT FOR THE

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT THAN EXISTED BEFORE THE TRUMP ELECTION.

IT WAS GONE FROM 42 TO 55, AND 75% OF AMERICANS SAY, LOOK, FIX

IT, DON'T REPLACE IT. SO THAT WE JUST THINK IT WAS PAY

BAD VOTE. I THINK SOME MEMBERS THOUGHT

THAT THEY WANTED TO ARTICULATE THAT IN SONG AND THEY DID.

>> CONGRESSMAN, THANK YOU. REMEMBER, I DIDN'T ASK YOU TO

SING IT

Semester Conversion Pledge Video - Duration: 2:41.

Have you heard about semester conversion?

it's well underway at Cal State East Bay

and as of fall 2018 the university will

officially make the switch from three

quarters per academic year to two

semesters. As we work to make this change

we want to assure you we are committed

to providing the same quality education

and college experience that made you

choose Cal State East Bay in the first

place.

Here is our pledge to you. I am very

pleased that we have translated into ten

languages on our website. We promise to

work with you to create a personalized

plan called an individualized advisement

plan that maps out your general

education and major classes and gets you

to graduate on time. Our advising and

college departments promise to keep you

up to date on any new information that

is released about semester conversion.

Once the university begins the semester

schedule the cost of three academic

quarters will be equal to two semesters.

Semester conversion should not have any

negative impact on your financial aid.

The office of financial aid will keep

you notified if there are changes to

your eligibility.

We promise you will not

lose any academic credits during the

transition from quarters to semesters. To

see how many units you've already earned

on the semester system visit the Cal

State East Bay semester conversion

website and use the online calculator. We

pledge there will be no change in the

quality of your classes or instruction.

In order to ensure that semester

conversion occurs smoothly we may need a

little help from you, our students, as

well. Please declare your major before

obtaining 90 units and maintain that

major to graduation. Meet with an

academic advisor starting in fall 2016

to create your individual advisement

plan.

This will give you a roadmap of what

classes to take once conversion happens

in 2018. Continue to check in with your

academic advisors and be sure to follow

your individualized advisement plan

including passing your classes and

staying on pace with your target

graduation date. Be aware that there will

be some differences between quarter and

semester requirements.

You need to satisfy the requirements

from your original catalogue year as

well as stay in touch with academic

advisement to make sure all requirements

for both your general education and

major classes are covered. Do you still

have questions? Visit the semester

conversion website

athletes. It helps doctors know

how your brain functions when

it's healthy.

So it's easier to see changes if

it's injured.

New at six, First News This

Morning Anchor Lauren Wood

shows us what can

happen WITHOUT a test.

TRT: 212 LAUREN WOOD: 1-19

Baseline testing only really

started taking off in the last

ten years. Many districts in our

area offer the test to

student-athletes... Most often

football players.

In Pittsburgh... The Penguins

Foundation makes the test

available for FREE to

all high school students.

Something that becomes

invaluable

the second a concussion happens.

TOM MILLER: IT IS BRAIN DAMAGE.

AND

PEOPLE DAMAGE THEIR BRAINS A LOT

MORE THAN THEY THINK

LAUREN: Tom Miller knows just

how difficult a

concussion can make your life.

He's a Junior at Grove City

College.

He got his concussion four years

ago, in high school... But not

on the field.

His happened in his bedroom.

TOM:

I ENDED UP SITTING UP AND

HITTING MY HEAD ON ONE OF THOSE

DOOR LIKE

THOSE WINDOWSILLS WHERE IT OPENS

THE WINDOW.

RIGHT AT THE BASE OF MY SKULL. I

KIND OF BLACKED OUT FOR A

SECOND.

LAUREN: A few weeks later... The

symptoms

became severe. TOM: I WAS WOULD

START SPEAKING GIBBERISH

WITHOUT EVEN

KNOWING IT. IT WAS VERY WEIRD.

EVERYONE WOULD BE LOOKING AT ME

WEIRDLY. AND I'M LIKE WHAT'S

GOING ON, AM I SPEAKING A

DIFFERENT LANGUAGE? LAUREN: Tom

had never taken a baseline. He

went to UPMC's Sports Medicine

clinic... Where they gave him

the IMpact test.

But since his test was after his

injury... It couldn't be used to

diagnose him.

Instead, doctors used it to

measure his progress... during

six months of therapy. TOM: I'D

GO BACK TO THE SPORTS MEDICAL

CENTER AND TAKE ANOTHER BASELINE

TEST AND SEE HOW THAT COMPARED.

THEY'D BE LIKE, OH IT'S RISEN

HERE... IT'S GONE DOWN HERE...

LET'S FIND

OUT HOW WE CAN ADJUST THAT.

LAUREN:

Eventually, Tom mostly

recovered. But he still has some

symptoms...

Especially headaches. Tom hopes

people learn from what

happened to him. TOM: MY BIGGEST

PET PEEVE IS WHEN PEOPLE ARE

PLAYING SPORTS

AND THEY HIT THEIR HEAD THEY

JUST BRUSH IT OFF AND MOVE ON.

IT'S

LIKE NO THIS IS SERIOUS. LAUREN:

And taking it seriously starts

long before an injury... With a

baseline test.

TOM: IT'S YOUR HEAD. THIS IS

YOUR

BRAIN. IT'S ONE OF THE MOST

IMPORTANT ORGANS IN YOUR

BODY AND JUST BUMPING YOUR HEAD

IS DOING DAMAGE TO IT. AND

YOU CAN'T JUST PUSH IT ASIDE.

LAUREN: Many school districts in

our area already

offer baseline testing for at

least some of their athletes.

At 5 o'clock we told you about

several that do.

Others haven't quite gotten

there yet, or not all sports are

included.

If YOUR child can't get the

IMpact test at school... You can

still have one done.

We've put a link on WKBN dot

com... that will allow you to

find a doctor close to you

that will give the test. It's

recommended that athletes take a

new

test at least every other year.

IT IS AN ISSUE FOR YOU IN

Startup Story: How To Grab A Spotlight For Drone - Duration: 3:13.

Our group consist of three different companies. They are Aero Terascare, the one who sells product.

Second one is Aero Geosurvey, where I work in, is the one who do the marketing service

And the third one is Aero Visual Studio, which stands for more commercial.

It's like production house that offers the service in making company profile service,

TV Ads and so on.

All of production activities here still use our own developed technology.

Operational part in the company is responsible for doing the man management.

Marketing is more interesting.

As our industry is not B2C (Business to Consumer) but B2B (Business to Business).

So, the marketing activities will be pretty different.

We can't just do promotion through social media post (e.g. Instagram).

We have to use more direct approach to our potential customer.

That's what makes marketing activity here more interesting.

Our focus in these early years is not about promotion or selling.

But more to educate (our target market).

We're doing so because our technology is a new one.

In terms of demand from society, there is no demand yet in the market.

Because this is a brand new developed technology, so what we're doing is to create the demand.

In a nutshell, when we are invited to present our product,

we don't put the Q&A session in the beginning. Instead, we will give something like short course about our stuff.

Sneak peak, this is the newest product of AeroTerrascan.

This one will be released this second quarter this year.

AeroTerrascan has got an opportunity to exhibit this in Cebit Exhibition, Germany at the end of March.

It was based on the request of The Ministry of Industry of Indonesia.

People usually looked surprise

Because whenever we give our presentation,

they don't see figures like guys with mustache but some younger ones.

Because they expect this industry is filled by older generation.

And I really like the way they support us.

They often say if they were so proud of young generation that can develop this kind of technology.

Which gives benefit for them and something like that.

So, the point of "young developer" is a kind of our selling point

We start using newest technology (for production). 3D printing technology, for instance.

In this office we have around four or five 3D printers and those are really needed for making components.

Our potential customers are usually aware enough,

that have a business with the older generation can be a bit more complicated.

As when dealing a business with younger generation, they will do the thing in the proper procedure.

More than the ACT or SAT, another test is pivotal for student athletes - Duration: 2:52.

The ACT or SAT is important --

but the most important test for

a high school student

might be the Impact Test.

It helps doctors diagnose

concussions. But needs to be

taken BEFORE a student

ever has a head injury. First

News Anchor Lauren Wood explains

why it's so important.

TRT: 233 LAUREN WOOD: 12 HUNDRED

high schools in Ohio use the

IMpact test... Most often for

football

players. It acts as a

baseline... Testing cognitive

function BEFORE a blow to the

head. Then, if the student DOES

get hit...

Doctors can compare their

thinking and reaction times.

Experts say it's a test that can

change the rest of your life.

LAUREN: Nearly 10 years ago...

First News introduced you to the

Impact test. Back then... A

handful of schools in

Pennsylvania were using the new

computer program to help

diagnose

concussions in their varsity

football players.

Now... It's spread across the

country. And in some schools in

the Valley... To all

sports. BRIAN BANFIELD: IT'S

SOMETHING THAT'S VERY IMPORTANT

NOT JUST NOW BUT

LATER IN LIFE. LAUREN: Poland

Schools give ALL their student

athletes the IMpact test.

From football players... To

cheerleaders...

Everyone gets checked. Because

EVERYONE can get a concussion.

BRIAN: WHEN DEALING WITH THE

BRAIN

IT'S NOT LIKE A CUT OR AN OPEN

WOUND WHERE YOU CAN SEE

WHAT'S GOING ON AND MAKE A

DIAGNOSIS.

LAUREN: Brian Banfield is the

Athletic Director at

Poland. He says students are

often surprised to see

how much a blow to the head can

change their brain.

Junior Ben Morucci got a

concussion from THIS hit last

fall.

The IMpact test quickly showed

him how much the hit affected

his thinking.

BEN MORUCCI:

WHEN YOU TAKE IT WITHOUT A

CONCUSSION YOU CAN MEMORIZE

STUFF YOU CAN GO BACK AND FORTH.

WHEN YOU TAKE IT WITH A

CONCUSSION YOUR HEAD STARTS

HURTING AND YOU'RE LIKE WOW I

JUST WANT THIS TO BE OVER WITH.

LAUREN:

Mike Kenneally is an athletic

trainer with Boardman.

Football players there have

taken the test for about eight

years.

MIKE KENNEALLY:

SOME OF THEM IT DOESN'T REALLY

HIT THEM UNTIL LIKE MAYBE

THEY'RE TRYING TO DO THEIR

SCHOOL WORK AND TRYING TO FOCUS

ON

SOMETHING AND THEIR CAPACITIES

JUST AREN'T THERE LIKE THEY WERE

BEFORE. LAUREN: But now...

Boardman is in the process of

expanding IMpact testing from

football to boys and girls

soccer and Lacrosse. Kenneally

says the tests are important

because they're objective...

While kids just want to get back

in the game. MIKE: A KID'S

ALWAYS GONNA TELL YOU I

FEEL FINE. I FEEL FINE. THEN

THEY TAKE THEIR TEST AND YOU SAY

SORRY YOU DIDN'T PASS IT.

LAUREN: This is just the first

part of this story.

There are still thousands of

people who get concussions

WITHOUT a baseline

test. Not only does it make

diagnosis more

difficult... But it also make it

harder to ensure you

recover COMPLETELY. Coming up

new at 6 o'clock...

I'll introduce you to a college

student who DIDN'T have an

IMpact test until after

his brain injury. And the

challenges he's faced since

then. In the studio, LW, 27 FN.
