Ascension Toolkit #5 Permission

by Michael H Hallett,

In the previous post in this series, Boundaries, I wrote about the necessity of consolidating

our energetic boundaries by stepping out of our comfort zone and standing up to anyone

who imposes on us.

In theory this is easy but in practice its very hardand at times it seems almost impossible.

Lets say you have a situation with an overbearing family member.

First, you might ignore the issue on the basis that if I ignore it itll go away.

On the Ascension pathway, nothing goes away by being ignored.

It just becomes more pressing.

So you finally decide to confront the family member who is imposing on you.

An opportunity arises.

This, too, is the Ascension process at work.

Once you commit to challenging an issue, you magnetize the opportunity.

You know what you need to say or do.

Yetat the crucial momentsomething inside you gives.

Certainty turns to doubt.

You lose traction.

You back off.

Square one

Youre back at square one.

Actually, its worse than square one.

Not only do you still have the family situation to deal with, but you also have to contend

with the guilt of failure and the fear that it will happen again.

Check your permissions.

Most of us are familiar with the word permission as it relates to access rights on computers.

In some instances we have edit rights that allow us to change things.

In others we have read rights that allow us to view things.

In some situations we have no permission whatsoever.

Sometimes, when we have no access rights we dont even know what can be accessed.

The same concept applies energetically.

Everything inside our comfort zone is what we typically have edit rights to.

We can stand up for ourselves.

We can make changes.

The further we go outside our comfort zone, the less permission we have.

Thats why, when we right an imbalanced situation, it can still feel like were

violating some kind of taboo.

Authority

In patriarchal 3D society, we are conditioned to defer to Authority.

Authority has various levelsfamily elders, schoolteachers, business leaders, military

officers, politicians, etc.right up to the top of the tree.

You have no permission to do anything that violates this age-old pecking order.

You are supposed to live out your squiddly little life doing what youre told and not

rocking the boat.

Ascension is a massive exercise in boat rockingto the point that the whole 3D vessel capsizes

and sinks.

So, next time you have an issue you need to resolve, start by giving yourself the permission

to do so.

Take whatever spiritual or metaphysical practice works for you and consciously use it to grant

yourself permission.

As the critical moment that calls for you to step outside your comfort zone approaches,

be aware that you are violating a taboo and this will destabilise you.

Also be aware that what you are doing is appropriate and you have edit level permission.

Then step into your power and do whatever needs to be done.

Rock that boat!

Michelle Obama Is SCREAMING! Trump Just ERASED 8 Years Of Her Life With One OUTSTANDING Move!

By Lindsey Bruce

President Trump came into office ready to make the changes needed to help this country.

Most of those changes required undoing all of Obamas anti-American policies, but Barack

isnt the only one getting his legacy erased so is his wife!

Michelle Obama spent years enforcing an initiative aimed at regulating what foods schools could

serve to children in cafeterias.

American children throughout the nation were forced to eat what they referred to as prison

food.

School kids tweeted pictures of soggy rice and complained that they were forced to go

hungry during their school day.

Well, those days are over and our kids are free to eat lunch again!

President Trump is getting rid of Michelle Obamas ridiculous regulations and allowing

parents to have a say in what their children eat instead of the Federal government!

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue unveiled a set of changes to federal school lunch programs

designed to provide greater flexibility in nutrition requirements during a visit

Monday to a Virginia school.

President Trump isnt only saving our children from hunger pangs, he is also saving the taxpayers

some money.

Trump is rolling back a second Michelle Obama program that was wasting serious government

dollars called the Let Girls Learn program.

The program was deemed unnecessary and duplicative.

The Federal government already has several programs in place that achieve the same goals

as Michelles program that wont cost taxpayers a fortune.

Michelle Obama spent her husbands entire presidency on these programs (when she wasnt

on vacation) and now they are GONE!

Sorry Michelle, but like your husband said

ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!

Warhammer 40000 Dawn Of War 3 - Mission 09 The Seer, The Trickster and The Brute - Duration: 1:18:07.

Welcome to the ninth mission of my Warhammer 40000 Dawn Of War III walkthrough.

Oh God, this mission is by far the longest in the game, a lot of people on Steam forums complain about it.

You play as Eldar vs Orks, and you need teleport few times in this mission to avoid getting meteor strike'd.

While at the beginning it might look quite original, mission is far too long for this objective.

The main goal in this mission is to lure out the Gorgutz out of his fortress, to make it you must destroy several Ork camps around and his main base.

The mission has a lot of surprises here, except meteor strikes, prepare for Ork arrival to help Gorgutz.

Be cautious with your units too, one time you might run out of resources so use them wisely.

Why Do Our Brains Love Fake News? - Duration: 5:21.

- Hey, hey, come here.

Do you know that Rupaul claims

that Trump touched him inappropriately in the '90s,

or that Obama signed an executive order

banning the Pledge of Allegiance in schools nationwide?

Okay, we all know that that was some grade A,

top shelf, premium, fake news.

But you knew that, right?

You're way too smart and well-informed to fall for that BS.

But what if falling for fake news isn't about intelligence

or how much information you have?

What if we're hardwired to believe what we wanna believe,

regardless of the facts?

The 2016 presidential election

saw fake news come out of nowhere.

A Buzzfeed analysis showed that the top 20

fake news articles on Facebook generated

more clicks than the top 20 real articles

from every major publication combined.

They were shared millions of times,

and it's not that we're just sharing fake news.

We appear to be believing the stories, too.

A recent poll found that people believe

fake news articles were somewhat

or very accurate 75% of the time.

How can we be falling for fake news

when we have these things?

We have instant access to more information

than we've ever had before.

Debunking misinformation should be a piece of cake, right?

Decades of brain research say no.

Turns out, our brains have other plans,

a little something called cognitive bias.

Cognitive bias is defined as a limitation in our thinking

that can cause flaws in our judgment.

It's kind of like an annoying brain glitch

that can lead us to make faulty conclusions.

Fake news often exploits this and our brains love it,

even if we're not conscious of it happening.

Once we form conclusions, they're hella hard to change,

even if we're presented with facts or evidence

that directly contradicts those conclusions.

So, what exactly is going on in our brains

to make us think that fake news is real news?

Why can't facts change our minds?

There are many flavors of cognitive bias,

but one of the most researched is confirmation bias.

We seek out information that we believe

or want to believe is true.

It is also leads us to ignore or minimize facts

that threaten what we believe.

So here's a study that explains how it works.

Back in 2004 during the Kerry Bush election,

researchers studied a group of 30 people,

half Democrat, half Republican.

Both candidates did what politicians do,

they flip flopped on the issues.

Then, the study asked the participants

to analyze what the candidates said.

The participants let the candidate

in their own party off the hook,

but were super critical of the candidate in the other party.

When researchers looked at their brain scans,

they found that the area of the brain responsible for reason

the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, was inactive,

so people weren't using reason

when evaluating the candidates they liked,

but they were using the part of the brain

that processes emotion, the orbitofrontal cortex,

a classic case of confirmation bias,

and their brains were also rewarding them

with a rush of dopamine,

a neurotransmitter that makes you feel good.

So, is there an upside to confirmation bias?

Well, it could help protect us from ideas

that may threaten our social standing in our "tribe."

Dan Kahan, a law and psychology professor at Yale University

calls it identity protective cognition.

We humans are hypersocial,

so it's more important to protect our values

and our relationships with family and friends

than it is to risk losing that by adopting new beliefs.

Are you familiar with Tomi Lahren?

She's a conservative political commentator.

- A protest is a peaceful objection to a grievance.

A bunch of sore losers occupying a space

is called a tantrum.

- [Myles] But recently, she expressed

her pro-choice view on abortion.

- Now, I'm pro-choice, and here's why.

- As a result, members of her conservative tribe

turned on her.

Ouch.

So, how do we defeat confirmation bias?

Well, you really can't,

but our three step plan can help you get around it.

Step one is recognize.

Recognize that you have this bias in the first place.

We all do.

You made it this far in the video,

so you can check that one off.

Step two is consider.

Consider that you may not really understand

what you think you understand.

Researchers call it the illusion of explanatory depth.

Let's say I strongly believe that GMOs are bad for me.

If someone forces me to explain it,

I just might realize that I don't understand it

as well as I thought I did.

Now, I might be less confident in my belief

and more receptive to another point of view.

Step three is research.

Research and break down the opposing viewpoint.

You may realize that your understanding

of where they're coming from is a bit too shallow.

So now you know the perils of confirmation bias

and have some tools to beat it.

Let's try it out.

Without being a smart ass,

pick a controversial topic and use step three on it.

Don't try to persuade, but instead use research and facts

to lay out why the other side believes what it believes.

Put your dorsolateral prefrontal cortex

to good use, will you?

(upbeat music)
