Waching daily May 1 2017

We are 3 sisters and 2 brothers

2 sisters are married off

and one is studying

I am also studying

and brother works as a labour now

At school children used to taunt him

by saying that your father is a gay

he used to get angry

so he decided to leave his studies

I too feel bad

when people talk bad about my profession

but its their thinking

its Kashmiri culture

when we are in any programme

we change our dress there

and at end we are like this

Then we take rest

and also sell vegetables

Selling vegetable is my side business

People keep talking that he wears female dresses

its a sin

and keep saying he is a gay

that do not bother me

because of this profession our father made us read and write

he gave us every facility

I am proud of his profession

Its not a sin

we do not have any problem

we do not tell him to stop doing this

This is our source of income

We tell him to keep this kashmiri culture alive

and he did so

We have to wear this dress in marraige functions

we do makeup and grow long hair

hardly any one can differentiate that

wheather I am a male or female

but now a days we donot keep long hair

now our kids are grown up

they are studying

now it does not sound good

that is why we do not grow long hair now

The Garage - Retreading Made Easy at Francesca's Space Station - Duration: 4:53.

Welcome to a new episode of The Garage

and great that you tune in once again.

As you may know what this show is all about

introducing Continentals innovative technologies in a rather unusual way.

Today we have something for you that is really

out of this world.

Now you're asking yourself, "What could that be?"

Well we're going to get right to the point with our expert today.

She goes by the lovely name of Francesca de Risi.

And here she is, just arriving. Hello Francesca.

Hello Chris, how are you doing?

I'm doing great! How about you?

You've brought all that luggage with you. Anything planned?

Yeah! Today I'm going to take you on a trip.

You are going to take me on a trip?

Yeah that's correct.

All right, I won't say no to that! Where do you want to go?

First of all, we have got to pick the right tire.

For instance a commercial tire,

the ones we use for busses.

Those tires are not just made of rubber.

All the components are made with technology,

that make these tires very robust.

And with those tires you can run very long distances.

Very long distances means how far?

Some of our Continental tires can run up to 300,000 kilometers.

No way! Really?

So that means I could go anywhere around the world.

Just let me give you a rough idea.

That would be pretty much the distance to the moon.

Well that is far.

Wow! But unfortunately we can't go to the moon now.

Of course we can!

Do you trust me? Just grab my hand and I'm going to take you there.

Hold on to the table!

Ok.

Are you ready?

If you say so.

Let's go!

Well that was a smooth ride actually.

Oh and look at the view down to mother earth!

Isn't it beautiful?

What is this?

What do you think it is Chris?

I hope it's not some kind of alien skin or something..

Not exactly. That is a trap.

That is what's gonna take us back home.

This is going to take us back home?

Yeah that's right.

Ok, how?

So what we are going to do is, we're going to keep the core of the tire.

And then we're going to remove the worn-out tread

and replace it with a brand new trad. Like this one.

So basically we can go further on the same tire?

That's right!

We save energy, we preserve the raw materials used to make the tire

and we reduce the environmental impact.

And also: then we can run up to a million kilometers!

That's a long road ahead.

It is!

Speaking of long distances: we have to get back home soon too.

So how do we go about retreading our tire?

There are different retreading methods across the globe,

but the main objective is to keep the core of the tire.

Like the one here.

And integrate on it a new tread.

Just like you see here!

That's amazing!

So that gives us additional mileage

and of course we have added value for investment.

That's right!

And more importantly: it looks like new

and it runs like new!

It sounds simpler than it is,

but I guess what this we have a renewed tire

and can safely get back home?

Yeah we can! Are you ready?

I'm ready!

Alright! So grab your helmet.

Alrigth.

And of course my hand.

Hold on to the table and let's get ready!

Alright!

Let's go!

Home sweet home.

Did you like the trip?

Oh I loved the trip!

Thank you very much for the invitation!

You are so welcome! one thing we have to do

One more thing we have to do though before you go:

we need to take a picture!

1, 2, 3..

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have covered a lot here today.

From the complexity of tire technology

to the process of retreading

and without Francesca all this wouldn't have been possible.

So thank you very much for coming out here, for your time

and of course these stellar insights!

Thanks for having me, Chris!

Well that was it for today and I'd like to see you again next time

for the new episode of The Garage.

Until then: take good care!

See you than. Bye Bye!
