It is no secret that President Trump and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have had a

contentious relationship since Trump took office.

For the last year, the FBI has been busy investigating the fake Russian collusion story that has

torn the country apart but failed to indict Hillary Clinton of any wrongdoing with her

deleted emails.

The left has been busy scurrying around trying to tie Trump's presidential win to Russian

interference but has failed every step of the way.

With each passing day, new information is revealed that shows just how corrupt the FBI

has become after years of being run under the Obama administration, but that is not

even the worse of it all.

While the FBI has desperately tried to prove Russian collusion they missed a major scandal

brewing right under their nose with the socialist senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders.

Now, that scandal has been blown wide open after it was discovered that Sanders had accepted

illegal foreign contributions from the Australian Labor Party during the 2016 elections, and

no one can miss the apparent irony of it.

It is no secret that liberal Democrats are the largest group of hypocrites in our country.

For instance, these lefties tout themselves as being open to diversity, but then, on the

other hand, cannot stand anyone that does not think like them, and the list goes on.

So, when the left attempted to take the moral high ground as their reasons behind hating

President Trump, the rest of us could not help but snicker behind their backs, and now

that snicker has become a full out guffaw after what was just discovered concerning

Bernie Sanders and his 2016 presidential campaign run.

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) found that socialist darling Bernie Sanders accepted

$14,500 in foreign contributions, and is now literally paying a hefty price for his actions.

Here is more from The Daily Caller:

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) fined Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign $14,500

for accepting illegal in-kind foreign contributions from the Australian Labor Party (ALP) during

the 2016 elections.

The ruling stems from a February 2016, conservative activist group Project Veritas video showing

Australian nationals working for the Sanders campaign on the dime of the Australian taxpayer

funded ALP.

Republican and former New Hampshire House speaker William O'Brien filed a complaint

with the FEC shortly after Project Veritas made the footage public, alleging the ALP

had made "prohibited foreign contributions" to the Sanders campaign, according to WMUR.

The FEC levied the fine against the Sanders campaign in a Feb. 2016-issued conciliation

agreement.

The ALP contacted the Sanders campaign according to the FEC and asked permission to allow Australian

nationals to be inserted into the campaign as volunteers.

The Sanders campaign accepted the ALP's request, despite knowing the ALP would be

paying Australians a daily stipend in addition to covering the cost of their flights to the

United States.

While volunteering with the Sanders campaign, the Australians engaged in political activities

"including encouraging voter attendance at campaign events, recruiting volunteers,

canvassing with volunteers, and planning events," according to the FEC.

The Sanders campaign "treated the ALP delegates no differently from any other campaign out-of-town

volunteers and was aware that they were receiving a stipend from the ALP," the FEC added.

The ALP spent $16,140 for the Australians' flights to the United States and $8,282 for

their daily stipends.

The FEC determined that amounted to a $24,422 "prohibited in-kind foreign contribution"

the Sanders campaign accepted from the ALP.

A Sanders spokesperson said in a statement to WMUR that the campaign doesn't think

it broke any rules.

"During the course of the campaign, thousands and thousands of young people from every state

and many other countries volunteered.

Among them were seven Australian young people who were receiving a modest stipend and airfare

from the Australian Labor Party so they could learn about American politics," the spokesperson

said.

"The folks on the campaign managing volunteers did not believe the stipend disqualified them

from being volunteers."

"In order to avoid a long and expensive fight with the FEC over the technical status

of these young people, the campaign agreed to pay the FEC a small settlement but did

not agree that it broke any rules," the Sanders spokesperson added.

O'Brien told WMUR Tuesday he was "disappointed" the FEC did not make a connection between

ALP and the Australian government."

Seriously, you can't help but shake your head after reading this, right?

For the last year, the left has convinced millions of Americans that Donald Trump conspired

with Russia to steal the election all while Bernie Sanders was attempting actually to

do it himself.

However, instead of the FBI investigating the real criminals, they continually focus

on President Trump in an attempt to destroy our republic.

Hopefully, now that Bernie Sanders was fined for his dirty deeds the FBI will open an investigation

on and see what else this socialist scumbag has been up to, but I am not holding my breath.

Hi everyone, welcome to another edition of Homebuyer's School.

Today I'm joined by Mutjaba Syed Manager Mobile Mortgage Specialist

with TD Canada Trust, and today the question we're gonna answer is,

What's the difference between open and closed mortgage rates?

So Mo, what is that difference?

Yeah, so it's a great question.

The difference the main difference between open mortgage and a

closed mortgage is that in open mortgage is there's not really a term attached to

it. You could actually leave that lender at any time without any penalties

incurred. A closed mortgage just means that technically you've signed a

contract with the bank to be there for a certain time period so if you

decided to go with a 5-year term you have to kind of stay with your 5-year

term and then decide after that if you want to stick with the same bank or kind

of go somewhere else, but with an open mortgage it's just--you can actually

move at any time without actually incurring any penalties.

So when should I pick an open versus a closed mortgage rate?

Yeah, so it's--mostly what I would recommend to my clients is that if

they're thinking of what's selling any time soon or leaving, or they're thinking

about moving out of the country or moving cities, an open mortgage is a very

good option at that time so you can get in for a very short time period and

actually get out without paying heavy penalties to get out. Once again it's a great

conversation to actually have with your lender at that time and let them know

about your future plans as well and that could help you determine what the best

rates are for you guys, if open makes more sense or close makes more sense.

Does an open or closed mortgage rate have anything to do with a fixed or

variable mortgage rate or completely simply separate things?

Yeah so there are actually--that's a great question, so we have an open fixed

mortgage rate and we also have open variable mortgage rates. They are--

predominantly it's going to be a little bit higher than the closed fixed

mortgage rates and closed variable rates, and the reason is because banks offer

discounts for clients--to attract clients when you're going with an open mortgage

rate, there's no loyalty, what banks technically finds so it's going to be a

little bit higher and technically in line with what all the banks are

offering, so it's not going to be a discounted rate at all you know, it will

be a little bit of a higher rate than the fixed, the closed fixed with a closed variable.

So in an open mortgage rate, say halfway through that term that you

signed, you can just switch to another bank?

Yeah absolutely, you could switch to a

different lender which you feel like has better rates for you, has better terms for

you. You can sell your home, you could do any of those things to actually get out of

that mortgage, without any penalties.

So why did the banks actually provide the

option of a open? Because wouldn't the banks want to you know, lock you into a

mortgage with that particular bank?

Yeah absolutely--

but I think at the end of the day what we want to do is we want to

actually give options to our clients, whatever it's going to be best fitted

for their needs. A lot of different life situations can happen where options are

a great thing to have. So for banks we want to be able to know

what's best for them.

So Mo do you have anything else to add in terms of

open and closed mortgage rates?

Yeah absolutely, I would just recommend

speaking with your specialist and bank or lender and see what's best for you, it

kind of fits in with your guys budgeting, with your plans

or future plans, and determine which kind of rates are going to be ideal

for your situation.

Nobody looks out for the craftsperson, even though they are the backbone of the

society we live in.

Anyone today doing anything at home needs a craftsperson.

What rights does the craftsperson get from the state? Nothing.

Unfortunately, this job doesn't include insurance.

If we attempt to get insurance, the Insurance Bureau gives us a hard time.

And, anyway, sometimes we can't pay the insurance payments for a simple reason:

We may spend three or four months at home without any work.

A man like me, I work as hard as anyone else in the state, maybe harder.

Then, ma'am, if I were to stay home, nobody would give me a penny, and

neither would the state.

Some people we work for make us feel like we're the lowest class of all.

One feels like, pardon me, an insect.

You understand what I mean? An insect.

They think craftspeople are slaves.

So we are, as they say, "an ant's protest,"

Meaning we are of no worth. Why? I don't know.

Once, in school, my daughter's friend told her, "Your father is a plumber."

Of course, that upset her.

I told her, "Honey, I don't do anything shameful."

"I am the same as a doctor, or as anyone else in the world."

When I write on my national ID card that I'm a craftsperson, that reflects on my son or daughter.

When I try to enroll them in any good place, they find them unsuitable

Because their father's ID card says he is a craftsperson.

My son works with me and, at the same time, I am getting him off the street.

Egyptian streets now are full of problems.

At least I'm teaching him a job that could be of use to him.

I see it with my own eyes, ma'am: people with college degrees who can't find work.

Should I wait for my son to sit like them on the street waiting for work?

I'm teaching him a craft he can earn his bread from in the future

so he doesn't dependent on the state. The state doesn't employ anyone.

Our country doesn't give us a chance. If a young man has ambition, they step on him.

Then, for example, a young man travels abroad and gets an opportunity, so he succeeds.

Why don't we help him succeed in our country?

And raise our country's status?

Today, anyone working in the state, whether employed in the government

or the private sector, they have access to hospitals, insurance and

medical coverage from the state or from the company they're working for.

If one of us falls off a rope or gets injured on the job, nobody looks out

for them, not even the client.

We've spent, say, more than 10 years now demanding that the state pass a law in

favor of informal workers in Egypt.

The number of informal workers in Egypt exceeds, according to the state's statistics, 17 million.

I think bringing up this issue at this time is just publicity for the elections.

We hope that a law in favor of informal workers is passed.

The statements I read when they first started discussing this project indicate

that this is just publicity for the elections.

The Ministry of Manpower has special funds that contain billions of pounds

paid by informal workers on a periodic basis: when they apply for ID cards,

or pay the membership fees for a syndicate under the state's jurisdiction.

So, what I think is more important than the law that might be passed in the coming

days, is that the state uses these funds to do something for informal workers.

Because the infamous saying used by engineers and contractors with regards

to informal workers is, "Your only insurance is your daily wage,"

which is LE120.

Times have changed now for craftspeople and for society-at-large.

If the craftspeople is not working, then society is not working.

That's the last thing I'll say.

Then you change them

They can be harsh and even give you headaches.

And even the new soft white LED models are just boring.

I'm excited about the state of lights these days,

and you will be too once you see these lights from Philips.

And no, I'm not at a disco, I'm at a home, a Smart Home.

We're looking at the Philips Hue ecosystem,

and the best way to start with it is to get the starter kit.

You'll get three multicolor bulbs and a bridge,

which connects to your WiFi network

and makes these bulbs so magical.

These are in their third generation,

and the cyan, green, and blue, they're more rich.

And they've really improved the app as well.

You might be thinking, "Big deal!

"It's a goofy novelty!"

But I'm here to say, no!

This is actually useful and amazing!

You can preset all kinds of lights for whatever you need,

whether it's gaming, sitting back and relaxing,

movie night, getting the party started,

or even, my favorite, a nap.

The cool thing with Hue is how it works

with virtually every Smart Home system out there.

IFTTT, Apple HomeKit, Alexa, Cortana, SmartThings,

and my Smart Home gadget of choice, Google Home.

I love this thing with the Hue ecosystem.

Hey Google, turn the lights red.

- [Google Home] You got it, changing eight lights to red.

- Hey Google, turn the lights blue.

- You got it, changing eight lights to blue.

- Pretty cool, eh?

As with all ecosystems, the more you can invest,

the more you get out of it.

I recommend getting the Hue switch.

You don't have to wire it in to replace a light switch,

as it can attach anywhere you want.

You can add and control up to ten lights,

and hey, take the switch off the wall,

and carry it like a remote!

Just don't lose it in the couch

like the rest of your remotes!

As I said, the Hue's been around long enough

for a third generation release.

They've really ironed out a lot of the kinks

and it's a pretty mature system now.

I love the geekiness of, say, managing a family

by making the bulbs red when it's bed time, for instance.

I'm not a fan of being locked into an ecosystem,

but when it comes to lights,

I think it's close to a no-brainer

to go for Hue for your lighting needs.

And if you don't have lighting needs,

this will be something that once you have,

you won't understand how you lived

without Smart lights before.

It's addictive and fun.

On Nature League we'll explore life on Earth together and ask questions that inspire us

to marvel at all things wild.

We're excited to bring you a different life on Earth theme each month, and each month

we'll start with a brief lesson on the theme.

So let's get started!

This month we'll start at the very beginning and ask ourselves, "What is life?"

Like...why is a rock different from a tiger?

And what's the deal with saying "carbon-based life forms"?

You might be able to come up with several answers to the first question.

I mean, there are some pretty noticeable differences between rocks and tigers, right?

But in order to have a working understanding of what life is, scientists had to get pretty precise.

So let's get on their level and check out these properties and processes that define living things.

#1. Order Living things are structured on almost every level,

whether you're looking at the cellular level or zooming out to look at total body structure.

This hierarchical, leveled, nature of living things is what allows them to exist in such amazing forms.

#2. Evolutionary adaptation Living things change over time in ways that

are adapted to the environment.

Evolution is the mechanism that does it all!

How incredible is change when you really think about it?!

#3. Response to the environment It's one thing to exist...and another thing

to exist in response to your surroundings.

It's a sort of deep concept, but the fact that a living thing makes changes to itself

in response to something else is unique to life.

#4. Regulation Goldilocks got it right- there really is that

sweet spot that's just right.

Living things have the remarkable ability of making changes to themselves in order to

reach or stay in that perfect window of conditions, or homeostasis.

#5. Energy processing Living things take in materials and use them

to create other materials.

It might sound simple, but processes like photosynthesis are actually mind-blowing when

you really think about it.

#6. Reproduction Sex, am I right?

Or...not sex.

Whether it entails getting it on or not, life finds a way to make more of itself, usually

by means of passing on genetic material.

#7. Growth and development Cells both divide and grow, meaning that living

things get bigger over time.

In addition to size, living things can develop into different forms throughout their lifespan.

I mean...butterflies are caterpillars, whaaaaat?

So what about carbon?

Some of my favorite science fiction arguments are concerned with defining extraterrestrial

lifeforms, and whether we would recognize an alien as "alive" even if it was made

up of elements unlike any on our planet.

This is a fun and friendly argument for a late night with friends, but life on Earth

is inarguably made up of that amazing element carbon.

And it's not just carbon on its own that's amazing, but rather carbon in combination

with other elements.

It's carbon's ability to bond with other elements that makes it the centerpiece of

the macromolecules, or big pieces, of life on Earth.

The four major macromolecules of life on Earth are 1) carbohydrates, 2) lipids, or fats

3) proteins, and 4) nucleic acids, like RNA and DNA.

And carbon is right in the middle of all of them.

Now, the characteristics of life and carbon we've discussed here were taken from a single

biology textbook.

If you look around, you might find a few other characteristics, like "living things are

made of cells."

It's totally fine if you learned a different group of life characteristics, or additional

roles of carbon.

The point is, what makes life life is pretty amazing, and I can't wait to explore these

topics and more with all of you here on Nature League.
