Waching daily Mar 1 2018

This year's hackCWRU was one of our biggest ones yet.

We had 262 attendees check in.

Our student body is really unique in how active we are

and how much we really care about trying to help everyone else learn.

It's awesome.

We are freshmen in high school from the Toledo area.

There are people here actually from all over.

To build something awesome.

Something that will get them a job.

Something that will help them improve the world.

Literally people here are changing the world.

Our idea is a sort of translator for sign language.

We just want to help people.

We're working on implementing social media and machine learning, artificial intelligence

to help people with medical illnesses.

We developed an app that predicts the age of menopause.

We made a Donkey Kong classic retro game and turned it into a virtual reality game.

Paramedics in particular aren't necessarily exposed to real world EKG's

during their training.

We're trying to essentially help bridge that gap.

There are some really practical ideas.

To put this stuff together in a matter of hours is really impressive.

The employer that just came by to try to recruit people

he was a chemical engineer.

It's not just computer science people.

It's impressive.

We are really interested in finding emerging new talent.

Some of these students are talking about the concepts that are extremely technical.

A lot of people are scared to go to hackathons

because they don't know how to program, but one of the main points of a hackathon

is you learn so much, so don't be afraid to go.

We had to do all the coding in C. I've never worked with C before,

so he gave me like this mini crash course.

I have friends that are like, "oh, I don't code."

I'm like, "you don't need to code."

You have multiple resources.

Maybe I'm not good at something but my teammate is so you can achieve more in the same amount of time.

It's actually fitting to be in the athletic center because I think it's similar.

This single-mindedness and getting into the zone and the personal best.

We really wanted an environment that cultivates creativity

and we wanted to utilize think[box] resources as much as possible.

I've never seen as many resources as think[box] has.

The laser cutters blow my mind.

The precision on that is insane.

It took us a while to get it up and running but we got it.

We did everything we wanted to.

It was all based off trial and error though.

We almost gave up on this idea but we decided to come back to it the day after

and we just powered through it.

I'm sure there are ups and downs in the process. You come to this point where you realize

"that was a stupid thing we just did for the last 3 hours," but then you kind of move on

and solve that problem.

It turned out to be a very good learning experience for me.

I'm just happy I came.

It definitely was the best decision I've made.

IS IT WORTH TO OPEN CS:GO CASES? (Clutch Case Opening) - Duration: 9:21.

Stick around if you want to see what I got from the clutch cases and what are the actual

odds to unbox.. something good.

Hey guys, NadeKing here.

So, many of you said that I should make a clutch case opening video.. well..

It did go pretty well..

CSGOMagic teamed up with me and made everything possible.

They sponsored this video.

I am also giving away 25 cheaper skins from the new clutch case..

This means you will have a great chance to actually get a free skin.

So if you want to participate, just like the video,

make sure you are subscribed with notifications on and comment your trade link under the video.

I will send those skins to 25 lucky winners in a couple of days.

To begin with, let's release the tension.

Yes, this was my best item to unbox.

M4A4 Neo-Noir.

No gloves.. even though I unboxed more than 450 cases.

These were my results in numbers.

452 cases opened, 369 blues, 63 purples, 18 pinks, 2 reds and 0 yellows.

I made a pie chart to illustrate this.

As you can see from my graph, more than 81% of the times I opened blue skin.

But somehow I managed to open 2 reds.

You can see the really thin red line here.

Another red I unboxed was MP7 Bloodsport, by the way, it was battle-scarred and was

worth around 7 euros.

I guess this concludes my luck with the clutch cases pretty well.

Although, I really wanted to unbox early gloves from the clutch case, I didn't get them.

So, is it worth to open CS:GO cases, in my context, clutch cases?

We have to look back in time, as all the csgo cases have the same odds for blues, purples,

pinks, reds and the special items.

Some people have been opening a lot of cases and gathered a lot of info from the CS:GO

case openings.. let's have a closer look at Rock's Case investigation info, as he has

gathered info from almost 52 000 case openings.

Big shoutout to Rock, I will leave link about his public data about case openings in the

video description.

By the way, all the big number investigations actually show almost the same odds.

So, as you can see 79,8% of a chance to get yourself a blue skin.

16,1% to get purple, 3,1% to get pink, 0,6% to get red and 0,2% to get a yellow rare item.

It's actually pretty similar to my data with 450 cases opened.

It means that in my case it was 0,2% of a chance for me to actually unbox gloves.

Pretty unreal.

Let me illustrate this with a graph.

Look at this yellow part, this is the possibility to get a rare item out from the case opening.

Imagine some arrow landing on this part.

Real mission impossible.

Even the red item looks really rare from here.

0.6% chance to get a red out from the case.

I managed to do it twice so I am actually happy about that.. for now.

This info makes the rare items even more valuable in my eyes, it's so damn hard to unbox them.

Yes, I have been lucky once when I unboxed Hydra gloves with my second case, but now

I realized.. how impossible it actually was to get the gloves with the second case, as

I now opened 450 of them and got nothing.

Congratulations to everyone who have managed to get something good out of the clutch case.

I will maybe try again in the future, but right now I am just fascinated with the fact

how hard it actually is to get the gloves.

And if we are talking about StatTrak rare item..

Knives.. as no one has not been lucky enough to unbox StatTrak gloves.. yet.. then it is

1 of 10 chance that your freshly unboxed knife is a StatTrak knife.

Wow.

This chance is very very low.

So is it worth to open clutch cases.

My short answer for you is definitely no, especially when the new case comes out, they

are pretty high priced and you are risking, even more, when you are opening those.

If the price gets lower and more reasonable.. then make your own choice as you now know

what are the odds to actually get something good.

Although, I really love this case, because there are

plenty of cool pairs of gloves that you can unbox and.. the odds for the cases are the

same, so if you are asking me right now.. these gloves what you could get are more expensive

than most of the knives you could unbox, so in my opinion it's one of the best cases

right now to try to unbox.

Because if you get the gloves.. there is a great chance that they are more expensive

than your possible unboxed knife.

But there are always exceptions, you never know.

By the way, one fun fact from the Rock's Case Investigation.. longest spree without a knife

was 2200+ cases.

So, when I opened 450 cases.. glad I stopped because I could go 2000+ cases without a pair

of gloves as well.

You never know how unlucky you could be.

Although Rock's data shows average 425 cases till the rare item.. maybe I should try to

open 10 more cases?

What do you think?

You can make a suggestion in the right top corner of the video.

Now may be a right time to say that in my opinion.. simple roulette on a well-known

CS:GO gambling site is way more.. winnable than opening cases in CS:GO.

So, if you want to really play a CS:GO related lottery then you can start a risk-free lottery

from nadeking.com, there you can find a lot of special bonus codes to try your luck, without

risking your own money.

Make sure you are 18+ to gamble.

Most of the codes will give you more money than standard bonus codes since many people

have used them already.

I have also a video on my channel where I used only those codes and went from nothing

to a knife.

But you have to be really lucky to hit this.

Still, I myself prefer standard CS:GO gambling site roulette to a case opening, because there

you have basically 45% chance to double your money since roulette most of the times hits

black or red.

But of course, if you have no money to play with and you are not willing to risk anything..

then gambling is not the way to go, and opening those cases is pretty much a way of gambling,

with even worse odds.

You have been watching my real clutch case opening action as a background video so you

can witness what I actually got out from there.

I also managed to unbox AWP Mortis, so things were not that bad in terms of pinks and reds.

I managed to unbox all the skins besides* the gloves.

Here you can see little footage from the shiniest ones in-game.

But yea, in desperation of wanting those gloves so badly.

I sold almost all my great unboxings to open more cases.. and got nothing.

Just to make clear.

I do not have those skins you can see right now, although some of them looked really nice.

I really loved the M4A4 myself.

Pretty neat design.

But as CSGOMagic made this case opening possible for me.

Lemme quickly try my luck on their site.

I like the site because of the attractive layout and the fact that you can see your

possible winnings in real time live.

So it is a crash game, you put your skins in, you can set the auto-cashout number but

you can also manually cash out whenever you feel and then just look at the multiplier

growing and growing.

It can crash at 1.0 and it can go up to thousands.

I got one cheap glock deposited right now.

And I feel my time is now..

One time, one bet let's go.

Damn, couldn't hold it more.

I played it pretty safe.

And it actually went to 5x.

You never know.

But with 2 easy clicks, I managed to make some actual profit, which is nice.

Anyways, I hope that if you are going to open some cases that you get really lucky and do

way better than me.

Feel free to use those free bonus codes from nadeking.com.

If you are interested in free clutch case skins, make sure to participate in the giveaway.

Also, make sure to link this video to your friends, so they will know how lucky they

actually have to be in order to unbox either the knife or the gloves and thanks for watching!

March Match Up is here! - Duration: 2:13.

- A study was done by the Chancellor's office

in 2017 that showed that 43.7% of Fresno State students

were faced with food insecurity issues.

And we know that if a person is hungry,

or if we know that they're worried about their hygiene,

maybe they'll skip a class and we don't want them

to go down that road that'll get them off track

because they've worked so hard to get here to our campus.

- Ultimately, we want them to be successful.

We want all the students here to have a fair fighting

chance and be successful not only here on campus

but also going forward in the future.

- The Fresno State Student Cupboard is vital

to our students being able to reach their academic goals.

They can come into an area that was created

with them in mind, it was to protect their dignity,

it was to show them that we support them

and we believe in them, and we want them to do

their best.

- Every once in a while we'll see a student

for a couple of weeks, and then they don't come back again.

We see a student at the beginning of the semester

and then not again until the end of the semester.

We might see them everyday.

Depending on their need, we know that the student

cupboard is here to be able to support them

when they do need it.

- Well this year with March Match Up we're asking

community members to join our team

in feeding student success.

We are very grateful to have our community partners

Moss Adams, they've been with us since

the very beginning, they're willing to match

$25,000 in donations that are given doing the month of March

so that means that we have the potential to collect

up to $50,000 for the cupboard just with their match.

- Fresno has been very good to us,

Fresno State's been very good to us, it's a huge

economic driver in our communities,

and I think we need to give back to them.

- It takes over $100,000 a year to sustain the cupboard

at the level that we serve our students,

and it's not possible for us to be able to support

them in this meaningful way without the community

stepping in.

- Now is the time to get those donations in.

Help us beat the buzzer before the end

of the month, help our students to be able

to succeed academically and be food secure

while they're doing it.

What is music therapy for addiction treatment? - Duration: 1:53.

My, mom's a musician, my grandma she was a musician

It's a family thing. I think music is so crucial to everything that everyone is doing in general.

Everyone loves music; Music is universal so, we want to be able to still like touch musical basis with everybody

So for the non musicians, we still do lyrical analysis

And music groups, drum circles because everyone can hit a drum.

And music just has a way of making you feel things that you can't usually pinpoint.

The, music is really a it's a sensitive thing right like

No one just ups and sings. It's kind of hard to just be like, "Sing on the spot!" So, some of the clients have

Gone from not wanting to sing ever to being able to perform for graduations here.

And therapeutically, I know music is expressive, but I think music is more than that because I've had clients that

were not musicians and still cried because they could relate to the song.

I don't really, want to end up back at place like, back in rehab. So

Having music to remind me of this place and how I was feeling when I got here how

I feel now and how I feel when I leave. I think it's a good tool to, you know, keep you in check.

I think that in this world we're given a lot of different gifts, and we don't know what to do with them.

But I think I've been given a really great opportunity to kind of take this and turn into a positive. So I

Plan on rocking this music program.

Rocking it. Yeah.

'Black History is not a Black club. It's history.' - Duration: 3:47.

Education is the only means by which we can eliminate prejudice and racism.

And in their place build compassion,

tolerance, friendship and the belief in the unconditional dignity of all man.

We have historically been eliminated from the decision-making processes that directly affect our lives.

We find ourselves without adequate advocacy.

Being a '60s student myself, you kind of think that everything really got started in the '60s, all of the

change and agitation and nothing could be further from the truth.

I first became aware of Herman when I was doing the project,

But as I was working with him that's also when

I quickly realized that we didn't have as much material on African-American history,

particularly revolving around students.

What's missing? What gaps do we need to fill?

Like Mabel Byrd, she was by herself. She was probably the only black person in Eugene. She worked

as a maid in one of the professor's houses and went to class.

With Robert Robinson and Charles Williams,

they were the first to African-American athletes at the University of Oregon in 1926.

The dormitories began to be integrated because of the white football players who were teammates

of Robinson and Williams. They wrote a petition and eventually it was done at Friendly Hall.

They built a separate apartment, with a separate entrance. But once they got into their apartment,

they had access to the entire building where the other football players lived.

They all had to overcome barriers to get an education at the University of Oregon.

The kind of minority communities we have in Oregon, tend to be experiencing a kind of social and economic death

that I think can be altered by inviting more and assisting more with students getting through college.

Throughout that period there was a lot of hostility on campus, because,

if you look back at the '60s, people were getting killed.

I remember walking across campus,

people were screaming that the president had been shot. So, I ran to the dorm and talked

to some other students and finally, we learned that our president had been killed.

And then, later on, Malcolm X was killed.

Other civil rights leaders down south were getting killed.

Bobby Kennedy was killed. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed.

Once again, our nation has been plunged into mourning

as a result of an assassin striking down a truly great leader.

Black history is not a black club. It's history.

Like Mabel Byrd, she worked with W.E. B. De Bois

who was the most prominent civil rights figure in the '20s and '30s

and up through the '40s. She was his right-hand person.

Once you read her story, you have to be inspired.

We must all do our part to ensure that we create the beloved community that Dr. King envisioned.

The one single factor that causes social change is people being

determined that they are going to make it happen and not get discouraged. Not get off

the track. Even when things don't seem to be going well, you got to stay with it.
