In this video I am going to tell you about "Generals" tab also knows as a campaign map.
Campaign map it is a strategic part of the game, which is presented as Europe map with a lot of cities, each of which is a battlefield
A player can play both - as a soldier participating in a battle and as a commander, sending troops to a battle
To play on the campaing map you should unlock the warmode by reaching account level 10th.
To join a warbattle you can select a specific battle on the RTS map or via matchmaking.
For participating in the war, players get more experience and receive a special currency needed for further playing on the campaign map - the so-called warfunds.
When you click the Generals tab first time during the war, you have to choose a faction you want to play for.
Note that you can choose other faction only after a war ends.
Some factions may have an underdog bonus in the form of extra experience and warfunds.
The bonus is inversely proportional to amount of players, participating in a war for this faction.
In other words, the less players play for the faction - the more bonus they get.
The goal of war is to capture fifteen out of twenty-three of major cities, which are shown on the map with a big star around them.
At the beginning of the war each faction has two initial major cities, around of which assault teams can be deployed.
Assault team is a set of resources, which can be used in a battle
For example, a motorized infantry assault team consists of ninety infantrymen's and thirty terrain vehicles.
To get an assault team you must have a soldier of twelve rank or higher or a general.
Generals can command assault teams of any branch, and a soldier can command an assault team of only the same branch as himself.
To purchase, upgrade and resupply assault teams special currency is used - warfunds.
A soldier whose assault teams participate in a battle, get warfunds and experience.
Their amount depends on degree of involvement of the assault team in the battle.
After you've purchased an assault team, you have to put it under the command of one of your soldiers.
Soldier can have a limited amount of assault teams under his command - each AT requires some command points.
These command points can be earned with soldier rank or by the progress of "War Victory" ribbon.
Now we can deploy our assault teams.
To do this click 'deploy' button to deploy specific assault team
or 'deploy all' button to deploy all ATs at once. Next choose one of available major cities.
After a while your assault team will appear on the map. This time depends on deploy queue. I`m gonna tell about it some later.
If the major city is under attack, you cannot choose it.
To deploy airforces there should be an airfield near the major city you have chosen.
Once the assault team is deployed, you can send it to a battle by drag-n-drop.
To move several ATs select them with control or shift button pressed.
Air assault teams can move only between airfields within the blue circle and attack within the red circle
Now let's consider assault teams in details.
The team has its name, status, resources, and morale.
The morale is a resource that is spents when AT is participating in battles and restores with the time.
It limits the amount of battles in which AT can participate during a short period.
After a battle a winner loses 10 morale and a loser loses 20 morale.
Retreating is also takes 20 of morale.
If AT with a 25 of less morale goes to a battle, then it will retreat and wll be withdrawed from the map.
Therewith the assault team loses all its resources, and it can be deployed once the morale is fully restored.
Once the AT faces an enemy in a city, the battle in "Assault" gamemode will be initiated,
If assault teams confront between cities, on a supply line, the "Encounter" or "Skirmish" battle will be initiated.
Let's consider all stages of a battle.
The first phase - preparation time - begins right after opposite assault teams face each other, and longs for 5 minutes.
This time is needed for all assault teams to reach the battle.
After that the next 5 minute phase begins - a special algorithm "Battle Director" is enabled, which decides is this battle fun to play or it's not.
For example, the battle with a small amount of infantry or with recons, tankers and pilots only is not fun to play.
The algorithm calculates is the battle 'fun' for all factions.
If the battle is deemed as 'not fun', one faction retreats and lose some resources and 20 morale.
If the battle is deemed as 'fun', it becomes available to play for 60 minutes,
after which, if there are not enough of players, the battle will be solved automatically.
The faction which has more resources wins, but resources in such battle do not spend.
But also players do not get any experience or warfunds too
The winner loses 10 morale and the loser loses 20 of morale and retreats if it is possible.
If there are enough of players, the battle begins.
Those players, whose AT's are in the battle, have a priority to join the battle.
War battles differ from staged battles.
In staged battles resources are generated by the game in equal amount for all sides and cannot be reinforced during the battle,
also there are always two opened supply lines with equal amount of resources and new ones cannot be opened during the battle.
In war battles the amount of resources depends on assault teams of players, which can be reinforced even during the battle.
Always remember that in war battles you use resources of other players, so use them wisely.
As for supply lines, there can be up to five of them in a war battle and resource allocation also depends only on players.
New supply lines can be opened during the battle, but once closed they cannot be opened again.
To get more information about resource allocation you have to click the city icon.
By mouse over the access points you can get more information about resources on each of supply lines.
The second way is to select the supply line on the map, but if only the city is within a radius of visibility of your ATs.
To locate your assault team on desired supply line you should send it exactly from the same side on the campaign map.
If you are defender there is no difference from which side you sent your assault teams.
After the battle in case of victory of offense side, the winner takes the city, and defensive side retreats, if it possible.
Otherwise offensive side retreats, and defenders stays on their position.
In case of battle on supply line the winner continues to move, and the loser retreats.
If Infantry, Recon or Paratrooper assault team loses all its personnel, then it is withdrawn from the map and all its vehicles returns to faction stockpile.
Tank and Plane assault teams are withdrawn if they lose all personnel OR all vehicles.
If the assault team lost a part of resources, it can be reinforced.
To do this you have to click on reinforce button. You can reinforce your AT's separatelly or all at once.
After that AT reinforcements go to queue.
When resources become available, reinforcements appear near the closest major city and move to your AT automatically.
Therewith, unlike to deployment, reinforcements of different types can be deployed separately of each other.
It means that infantry can be sent at the moment when vehicles are still in deploy queue.
Therewith AT's can be moved freely while they are waiting for reinforcements.
You can move them too. Sometimes it is needed to avoid battles.
Now let's take a look on the headquarter.
Here you can manage your assault teams - equip, buy, upgrade and so on.
For participating in a battles, Assault teams besides experience for their commander and warfunds earn their own experience and can be upgraded.
Also you can get information about faction stockpile
Every 10 minutes faction produces some amount of each resource.
If production is less than players need, then deploy queue appears, what was mentioned earlier.
And that's all! Like this video, share it with your friends and subscribe. See you!
