Waching daily May 5 2017

Hey it's Shawn from Journey Alberta! Today

I'm going to be talking about five

different hikes that you can do in the

Calgary area that are ideal for all ages.

The first one I'll talk about is the hike

to Troll Falls. This relatively easy hike

has barely any elevation gain and is just

over a kilometer long.

It starts near the Nakiska ski area

in Kananaskis. You'll get to

experience a beautiful waterfall and

even have the option of going up to an

upper trail to see the other hidden

waterfalls on this hike should you choose

to. Make sure for the second part if

you're going up to the Hidden Falls that

you make sure that you wear proper

footwear. You should have proper footwear

in the mountains regardless but if

you're heading up to the hidden

waterfalls it's especially essential

because there are some tricky sections

of steep rocks you have to go up and a

small creek crossing so just keep that

in mind. I had heard about troll Falls

from a couple of my friends actually

through Facebook seeing their pictures

that they had posted and I saw that so I

immediately started researching this

hike seeing that you can hike up to the

hidden waterfalls and that just hooked

me after seeing the pictures and stuff

and realizing that it's not a very hard

hike at all. It's very very flat almost

all the way there

The second hike is the Tiger Lily Loop

located in the Glenbow Ranch

Provincial Park. This 1.4 kilometer long

looped trail features a walk through the

trees and magnificent views of the

landscape in between Calgary and

Cochrane. The path will take you past a

pond as well and in the spring Western

Wood Lilies can be seen on this trail.

The title of this hike is a little

deceiving because there aren't actually any

Tiger Lilies. Western Wood Lilies look

very similar to Tiger Lilies so that's

why the hike was named that.

Third is the

loop trail at Big Hills Springs

Provincial Park. This Provincial Park is

already known for its vast array of

cascading waterfalls and such and this

looped trail that goes through the entire

park. The park isn't huge but this looped

trail goes through the park and takes you

past all the waterfalls then you gain a

little bit of elevation on the way back.

I'd say it's about one to two kilometers

long at best and is a great escape from

Calgary. If your content just walking

past all the waterfalls and don't want

go up to the steeper section, you don't

have to go any further you can go back

to your vehicle. The park is located 20

minutes north of Cochrane it's

definitely a great area to explore if

you live near Calgary. The first time I

went to Big Hill Springs Provincial Park

was with my wife on suggestion from my

friend Jesse because he lives out in

that area near Cochrane and he said that

Big Hill Springs of Provincial Park is a

really cool-looking area with a lot of

nice rocks and all the waterfalls so

that was the first time I went up there

was with my wife Kelsey on suggestion

for my friend Jesse.

Fourth is the

Grassi Lakes Trail located in Canmore.

It's about two kilometers long to the

lakes on the easy trail and it is also

stroller friendly so that is a huge plus

for this hike for families with small

children. You can also opt to do the

moderate trail one way and the easy

trail the other to make for a loop. The

clear watered Lakes are sure to be a

favorite sight to see and you can

usually see fish swimming around in them.

A fun fact about this hike is this is

actually the hike where I proposed to my

wife quite a few years ago before we got

married so it's it's very very scenic

and located right in Canmore so it's

very easy to access.

Lastly the short looped trail and Mt.

Lorette Ponds can make for a great day

trip. Make sure to bring some food and

supplies to have a fire as there are

fire pits and picnic tables here and

afterwards you can take a stroll around

at the ponds admire the scenery there.

It's really a special day use area

that's often overlooked because most

people when they're heading out into

Kananaskis, out that way, they're

heading further to the Peter Lougheed

Provincial Park or even further down

those kind of areas and they're

overlooking Mt. Lorette Ponds which in

my opinion is a gem in that area. How my

wife Kelsey and I discovered Mt.

Lorette Ponds is that we were heading

actually to the Lower Kananaskis Lake

to have a picnic

earlier in the season a few years ago and

when we got the lake there was four feet

of snow so we couldn't really do

anything there so we started heading

back looking at all the turnoffs, seeing

if there was a suitable place to have a

picnic and we found Mt. Lorette Ponds.

New tech partnerships for Bosch at the U.S. West Coast - Duration: 1:53.

January 2015 was when some of the

first executives from Bosch came to our

facility where we're sitting right now

at that time we had about 30 people in

the building

half of them were support people and

this was a pretty empty quiet dark and

even somewhat smelly building we had

water in the garage that was leaking

through the doors and for a large

company like Bosch especially at the

executive level to come in to our our

humble facility

and meet up with us

here we all had worked with

Bosch before and so I guess it's not a

funny story it's actually a great story

and it's about relationships and the

trust and the experience the positive

experiences that we had in the past the

first questions they asked us is when

can they have our products because they

want them fast and they always ask for

the latest in technology and they want

to start almost immediately to get the

first samples really quick.

I watched

Bosch make a transformation

from a very conservative process rigid company

with tasks pulling them

ahead and pulling individuals to break

rules break processes to move fast to be

innovative

and Bosch learned more than any other

supplier I witnessed

Strengthen abdominal muscles. ABS yoga. Remove tension in upper back. Great for back! - Duration: 2:00.

Would you like to release tension

in the upper back and the neck?

Bring in more clarity and awareness

to to your head? Then this kriya for you

You lay down on the back, release the

lower part of the body, bring the hands

behind the head and lift your head

upwards and downwards helping little bit

with your abdomen muscles and keep on

repeating this for several times

It will look like this

Read what ancientKriya yoga treatise says about this kriya:

Lie down on your back, take your head in hands. Lift your head with your hands and abdominal muscles and then lower your head.

Repeat it many times. This way you will eliminate all barriers in the neck and upper back, and she will reach the back of your head and fill up your mind.

Very good exercise, kriya for

your abdomen muscles but only for the upper part. Be gentle with your neck

Don't force it down or up. When you have

strong abdomen muscles this

helps your back to feel better because a

lot of times the first back problems

appear when the abdomen muscles get

weaker and if we have done this kriya

then let's do the next one

Maria Noichl for Europe Calling Belgrade - Duration: 4:52.

Dear women on the European continent.

Europe, Europe means neighbourhood.

Women as neighbours of women.

As a member of the committee for women's rights and gender equality

equality in the European Parliament, I would like

to briefly outline three thoughts on women in Europe.

A first important question:

What can women in Serbia gain from the European Union?

I would clearly say:

more democracy, more stability and security.

And it is also in our interested to extend these advantages to other parts of Europe.

For women in Serbia, I think, a gain.

But there is also an economical perspective:

The EU is, since 2007, the biggest single market worldwide,

in which more than 500 million people are at home.

Half of them are women.

It holds lots of economic advantages for the Member States - when we do it the right way.

And then: European standards and values.

Values and standards hold us women together.

As an example: increasing ecological standards in the accession countries

as well as standards on women's rights and gender equality.

Because: women's rights are human rights, in the European Union and worldwide.

A second question, now the other way around.

What can the EU gain with a European Serbia?

We are winning good neighborship.

We will be more people and we will be better together.

With 252,5 million of women, women are the majority in the European Union:

51,21 %.

And we, as women, want to shape Europe.

Together with the women in Serbia.

The Treaty of Rome, signed as the very first step on the way to the European Union,

set already one of the main principles:

equal pay.

We want to and have the right to earn the same men do.

This EU policy helped some of the Member States to introduce new legislation and new perspectives in this area:

Maternity leave, protection from discrimination in the workplace, equal pay and equal value.

And we continue to learn from each other's experiences every day with best practices.

We are learning things we show to each other, we are getting closer to each other.

And we know about the state of equality in every area.

Which ideas do work in the EU, which do not?

Women who unite can move a lot.

With regards to Serbia we can state the following:

while the quota of women in employment on average is lower than in the European Union,

the rate of women working part-time in Serbia is lower as well.

Which means: in Serbia more women are working full-time. That is a success.

And on company boards?

The rate of women on boards in Serbia is higher than the European average.

We are learning from Serbia, and Serbia is learning from the EU.

Because, we are stronger together.

A third question:

Are the women the ones who hold Europe together?

As a women, I can only say: of course!

We, the women, hold Europe together.

Just think about Poland or Spain, when the right to terminate a pregnancy was at stake.

The women's movement, on the streets, fought this threat off.

Or the Nordic model.

The model that went from some Nordic states to France and clearly states:

prostitution can never be a normal job and thus not be legal.

We the women, are the ones who keep Europe together.

Women, as entrepreneurs, as inventers, as teachers, as mothers, as grandmothers,

we work on a daily basis for the functioning of the European society, inside and outside of the EU.

And it would be wonderful if we could grow together.

We, as women, move things.

And, a last important point at the end:

Women are less seducible.

On average, women tend to vote less for extremist parties.

Women, in Serbia and the EU, care for a democratic and good future.

And we belong together.

Best wishes from Brussels, Maria Noichl
