Waching daily May 4 2017

This tangy and delicious fried potato recipe is a Sindhi favourite and very simple to make.

To make this we'll need baby potatoes.

You can use normal potato if you want as well.

To spice these up we'll make a masala mix.

We'll use coriander powder for some depth

chilli powder for spice and Amchoor for a yummy tang

And off course some salt.

Start by par-boiling the potatoes till they're about 3/4th of the way cooked.

Par boiling simply means to cook part of the way.

This should take 7-10 minutes for baby potatoes.

Adding salt will help them cook faster and become flavourful.

You could even use a pressure cooker, which will require only 1 to 2 whistles.

Fish them out and let them cool down.

To turn the potatoes into tuks we'll smash them down using the flat side of a knife.

You can take the skin off if you like but we think it add crispiness so we prefer to leave it on

Make sure you don't press them too much.

They should still hold their shape.

Heat oil for deep frying.

Check if it's hot by dropping a piece of potato to see if it sizzles.

Deep fry on high heat until your tuks are cooked through and a gorgeous golden brown.

This can take up to 10 to 12 minutes.

They'll be hot when removed so give them at least 5 minutes before you dig in.

Now toss your tuks in the zingy spice mix.

Make sure you coat all of them properly.

You should adjust the spice level based on your own tolerance and comfort.

These yummy aloo tuks are typically eaten with sindhi kadhi.

But they're perfectly delicious all on their own.

Your hot and crispy aloo tuks, fresh from the Glamrs kitchen are ready to enjoy.

The Answer is There - Duration: 3:07.

A man named Richard was homeless.

He would stand on the side of the road

and he would hold a sign that said,

"Laid off too long.

Anything helps."

One day, as he was standing on the side of the road,

a woman named Kenyatta noticed the sign and walked up to Richard and said,

"Richard, what do you need?"

He said, "Well, really I would just love some,

enough money to be able to turn my cell phone back on

so that when I applied for jobs,

the companies, when they would call my number, I would be able to answer them."

And she said, "I can do that."

So Kenyatta took Richard down to the AT&T store.

They pulled up his account

and she paid his bill

for the next two months.

And then he went home and he charged his cell phone,

which the battery had been dead for a while.

And when he, when his cell phone was charged,

he saw that he had a message.

And he listened to the message

and it was a job offer

from one of the places that he had applied to many weeks earlier.

Even though, and even though the message was a couple of weeks old,

he called them and they still gave him the job.

It was a pretty good day for Richard

and he felt very blessed.

And, of course, the message that caused that to happen,

it had really been there the whole time.

He just needed someone to help him find it.

We find the same kind of thing in Luke chapter 16.

The one thing that the rich man knew that he needed,

and the one thing that the rich man,

the rich man's brothers needed,

it was really there

the whole time

Abraham said this to him in verse 29.

He replied, once the rich man was concerned about his brothers,

He said, no, Lazarus basically, he doesn't need to go and visit them,

because your brothers, they have Moses and the prophets.

Let them listen to them.

They have Moses and the prophets.

And he's talking about the Word.

They have the Word.

And saying they just need to turn to the Word

because in the Word,

that's where you find a Jesus who knows

that this world simply cannot give you every good thing

for which your heart is hoping.

But he can.

And Lazarus believed that he would.

That's why there's one thing in this whole section that you never hear Lazarus do.

You never hear him complain.

And the reason why is because he believed he didn't need to.

This man, whose life was almost completely void of health,

and wealth, and even friends,

believed that his Lord had already given him the one thing

that he needed and the one thing

that this world could never take away.

Comfort

in a heaven where there is no more death,

or crying, or pain,

and where every last tear is wiped away.

You just had to wade through a little bit of pain and loneliness to see it.

And maybe you do too.

But in those moments, you still have everything you need.

You have Moses and the prophets,

where you will always find

your Jesus.

Thank you for allowing me to spend some time with you around the Word of God this week.

I've thoroughly enjoyed it

and I hope that you found some comfort

from the section of God's Word.

There are so many more souls out in the world that need that same comfort,

and you can help us reach them.

Please consider becoming a Grace Partner,

which means setting up a recurring monthly donation to our ministry.

Every penny that comes in will help the gospel

reach the souls that desperately need the same comfort that you and I do.

God bless your weekend.

The 'Slut Walk Movement': is it about feminism? - Duration: 1:32.

The SlutWalk Movement has been widely cast as a feminist issue but it could also be conceptualised

as a leadership story.

Leadership in this case is fashioned in the acknowledgement that local realities mattered

in shaping how SlutWalk manifested itself in different contexts.

It is this acknowledgement that has given the Slutwalk movements their staying power.

Heather Jarvis and Sonya Barnett, as the initial organisers of the movement, had a vision of

rallying people under the derogatory term 'slut' and refashioning it as a weapon

against the prevalent rape and victim blaming culture in Toronto.

Through constant online and social media discussions they exerted their influence and garnered

a critical mass of 3,000 people to take to the streets.

The localised protest soon gained a footing all over the world launching it into a global

feminist movement.

The movement spread to over 200 cities and 40 countries around the world and has become

an annual protest event in some countries.

This has not only universalised the conversation on sexual violence and victim blaming, but

also empowered thousands to assert and reassert their voices against rape culture.

Is rap music a social movement and what is its role in driving political change? - Duration: 0:52.

We have all heard of prominent American rappers Jay-Z, Kanye West and Eminem, yet few have

heard of Senegalese rappers Fou Malade and Thiat.

We often tend to forget that the origins of rap music can be traced back to West African

story tellers known as griots who used rap music to address societal issues.

In Senegal, rap music continues to play an important role to speak to socio-political

problems.

While the media have concentrated on the revolutionary events of the Arab Spring, Y'en A Marre,

a group of Senegalese artists and journalists, have been instrumental in building the M23

movement that saved Senegal from falling into authoritarianism.

8mld m3 all'anno di biometano: potenzialità produttiva teorica in Italia - English Subtitles - Duration: 2:11.

What are the opportunities and obstacles

for the biomethane market in Italy?

The opportunities are huge,

here at the Consorzio Italiano Biogas we have presented

a position paper to develop biomethane in our sector,

where we're talking about a production potential

of 8 billion cubic meters of biomethane a year.

This is a theoretical potential,

it will be hard for us to reach this target,

but I'd like to point out that today,

if we converted all plants currently in operation,

we would be able to produce

something like 3 billion cubic meters of biomethane.

So, in terms of potential, it's huge.

The main problems that are preventing us from starting,

from this sector taking off,

are basically of a bureaucratic, legal and regulatory nature.

Luckily today, technical regulations have been published,

but there is still no decree introducing incentives

that can be judged positively by our investors.

So there is no certainty of a return on investments made,

that can be made in this sector.

What are the regions with the greatest potential?

The whole of Italy has a huge potential.

The regions where, I think, new plants will develop

could be those areas where today there are fewer biogas plants,

simply because there are more biomasses available,

and so regions in central and southern Italy.

Regions in northern Italy, where there is a considerable number

of biogas plants currently in operation

are areas where we could have a second production,

so the production of electricity

alongside the production of biomethane.

In other words, our biogas plants,

without having to build new plants,

could be used for both types of production:

electricity, like today, and biomethane, tomorrow.

'Is President Paul Kagame a feminist?' - Duration: 1:52.

So, can we say that Kagame is a transformational leader?

The renowned Sociologist James Downton said that during a social crisis, transformational

leaders develop missions, define common objectives and provide solution in order to address sources

of conflict.

Transformational leaders are proactive.

They break tradition, come up with new ideas and ways of doing things.

This is what President Kagame and the Rwandan Patriotic Front did in post-genocide Rwanda.

He has successfully led a gender revolution with a clear vision of gender equality.

He has devised new approaches of engaging women, introduced new laws and policies,

and, he has made his nation a success story on gender equality globally.

In recognition of his contribution for gender equality, President Kagame received the African

Gender Award in 2007 from a Geneva based African Non-Governmental Organisation.

African Women Movements, a coalition of women's group across the continent, based in South

Africa also conferred the Gender Champion Award to him last year.

However, his critics express reservations about this seemingly rosy picture.

They argue that good laws, policies and increased number of women in parliament are not sufficient

enough to uproot ingrained norms and practices.

As the famous English philosopher Stuart Mill said, no great deal of improvement is possible

without changing the fundamental construction of their modes of thought.

Certainly, the government is expected to go beyond numbers and laws.

This is the real challenge facing President Kagame's ongoing gender revolution.

HOW MUCH IS A TRIP FROM AUSTRALIA TO JAPAN? Ask foreigners how much they spend travelling to Japan - Duration: 3:33.

Including spending money probably about 6 grand.

No injuries? Everyone good?

Hey guys this is Cathy Cat. Today we will ask people who have come from

Australia to Japan how much their general trip was. How much

they paid and how much it all was in total.

Let's go and ask Australians in Japan.

How much did you pay to come from Australia?

Including spending money probably about six grand.

How long are you staying for?

We are here for about 2 1/2 three weeks.

Just under 3 weeks.

That includes Ski hire and all that kind of insurance. It's quite expensive.

Skiing and insurance added to the whole.

Yeah so it's the skiing insurance.

Hotels transfers it's all included.

What airline did you come with?

We flew with Garuda. - Through Indonesia.

Stopped in Bali first and then had a layover for about 13 hours

and then came to Japan after.

Flew into Narita. - It was a long day.

How many hours? - Three and then six.

So nine hours all added.

Did you mainly stay at hotels or also Ryokan and youth hostels?

Hotels the whole time.

We stayed at the Gondola hotel in Hakuba and are staying at the Ibis

We booked through a travel agent.

He just organized everything for us.

So lift passes, flights, transfers, ski hire, everything.

Is there anything that was the ... most pricey one?

Skiing. The lift pass is always quite expensive.

How long were you skiing for? - 10 days.

No injuries? Everyone good?

Sore but no major injuries. Just a bit sore.

Psychologically very sore.

For people who would like to come to Japan, do you have any advice?

Like book early, go with a good travel agent, do this or that?

Maybe change of times. Anything you have as advice?

Do your research because the best places are often hidden.

Do your research, ask around because the best restaurants can be hidden.

And you don't know where they are.

The best dinners looked like a shack and ended up being the best dinner we had.

It's always the big ones that are never as good.

Can you name us the name of one of those shacks?

Kiyoko the Sashimi...

Koya. It was called Koya.

That was the Sashimi place in Hakuba. It was really good.

How did you find out about those restaurants?

Other friend's recommendations.

Googling and trip advisor.

Asked hotel staff, bartender staff, people that we met.

So you just collected all information you could get. Look around, ask people.

Fantastic, good. I think we all learned something. Thank you.

Thank you.

What's interesting to see is that right now it's summer there and winter here

many people from Australia come over to go skiing here in Japan.

Did you expect that price level? Did you think it would be different?

If you are from Australia, let us know down below if you have been to Japan

and how much you paid as well so other people can take it as a reference

when they come on their next trip to Japan.

I hope this helped you and I'll catch you soon on Ask Japanese.
