As i promised you, this video is on the topic of "why fat is important to lose fat "

so as i have discussed in my last video that fat is a macronutrient.

That means your body needs that nutrient in a fair amount to function properly.

So what are the roles of fat-

Firstly, it provides us energy. second, it helps in thermoregulation.

That means helps to maintain the core temperature of the body.

third, it helps to absorb the minerals

and it also helps to give a cushioning to all the internal organs.

So you can understand that fat is very very important for the functioning of your body

and shunning fat completely can be very harmful.

now fats can be broadly classified in two types:

first is saturated fats and second is unsaturated fats.

the examples of saturated fats are coconut oil, meat, full fat dairy products

like ghee, butter etc.

and the example of unsaturated fats are-fatty fish, nuts and all vegetable oil.

Mostly all liquid vegetable oils

now, we have always been told that saturated fats are unhealthy for our health,

as it was claimed to raise the cholesterol level.

but the recent studies are suggesting that

saturated fat can actually raise the good cholesterol level

and can change the bad cholesterol

as saturated fat does not have any double bond,

that makes it resistant to all heat induced damages.

So, we can see that, coconut oil, ghee ,butter- they all are very good for cooking-

especially for frying.

Unprocessed saturated fats are actually good for your health.

So now see,

the people who are struggling to lose weight

tend to buy these all zero fat, low fat version of food from market.

And fat gives the most important quality to a food- that is its taste.

and the manufacturers remove the much needed quality-

the fat from its food,

they need to load it with more and more salt and sugar

to improve its flavour and taste and we all know that those things are harmful for our body.

So i will say that frying you know your bhajia in your own kitchen

once in a fortnight is much better

than having these all low fat or baked chips from the market in a daily basis.

so now we will discuss about the importance of fat soluble vitamins.

Now see, dietary fat is essential

not only for providing good energy or producing hormones

it also helps in the absorption of fat soluble vitamins.

those are vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E and vitamin K

and all these fat soluble vitamins actually help to regulate the thyroid hormones.

and thyroid hormones help to regulate our metabolism.

out of all these fat soluble vitamins the most important vitamin is vitamin D

and most of the obese people have vitamin D deficiency.

So it is believed that Vitamin D has a role in regulating our fat mass

and taking sufficient amount of vitamin D in your diet

can actually help you to lose weight.

So if you want to absorb all the fat soluble vitamins in your body

you have to eat it with good fat!!

so till now we have discussed what are the fats to eat

now you may ask what are the fats to avoid

and i will say- artificial trans fat.

These are extremely harmful and can present in all the packaged food

that you buy from the market.

Now manufacturing industry use this trans fat to give good texture to the food

and consuming this trans fat in a daily basis can increase

insulin sensitivity, obesity problems and many other health related issues.

So, please have good unprocessed fat

and stay away from packaged food, frozen food and all these things

and if you are making this as your way of life,

then eventually that will help you to lose weight.
