Bonjour ! Today we're at 5 Lorette --
one of our favorite restaurants in Paris.
It's an absolutely magnificent restaurant, right in the heart of Paris.
It's in the 9th arrondissement.
And it just so happens that this is also where we hold our cooking workshops every month!
So we're totally "regulars" around here... and we LOVE Faïcal's cuisine.
Speaking of... they're bringing our starters!
That looks so good! It looks like a Vietnamese crepe/roll.
Oh la la...I can't waaait to try it.
So here we have the crunchy veggie crepe.
It looks sooo yummy.
Ok, Chloe -- it's all you.
I'm famished!
Dude, me too, seriously.
Plus it smells delicious.
There are little crunchy coconut flakes on top.
So creative, too. - So there's veggies inside here...
And it's coated in a crispy rice paper.
I love how you're going straight for the crepe... like, the salad has to wait.
So? How is it?
It's super good. The veggies are really flavorful.
I think it's a curry-ish sauce.
It really brings out all the other flavors.
There are bunch of different veggies in here -- mostly root vegetables.
I love that the salad is always fresh here. The lettuce is always crunchy.
That's not always easy to find, actually.
The sauce is so good.
It's citrus-y.
Très tasty!
You HAVE to try it.
Dude -- I'm on it.
A gorgeous soup -- creamy zucchini.
It's complex, flavor-wise.
It's delicious, and *hot*, as a soup should be!
So the crackers at 5 Lorette are sooo good.
They're dehydrated crackers.
So, actually... our well-loved chef Faïcal here, he saves all the juice pulp, and puts it in the crackers!
It's awesome because they waste very little. They're super eco here.
And the crackers are deee-lish.
I like to dip them in the soup. Mmm.
Gluten-free! Everything here is gluten-free.
So there's no gluten in any dish here!
This is gluten-free bread, and it's all fricken amazing.
It's dense, but that way you feel like you're eating something... consistent.
Ready?
Oh yeah.
What's this called again? - The Buddha bowl.
With a peanut butter sauce!
Which is totally why we ordered this one...
As soon as I saw "peanut" I was sold.
It's so good!
And avocado! The star of the meal.
I'm going straight for the avocado...
I love your huge avo bite!
Perfect big avocado bite.
So so good.
It's super refreshing!
In place of rice, they've put cauliflower rice...
It's delicious.
And there's avocado -- our favorite.
The sweet potato chip goes super well with the blue wall.
Well, everything's beautiful here.
Including the dishes... they're so beautiful.
And the food is plated so artistically.
So, our main dishes...
were delicious.
And actually we were just talking with Rina, the owner, and we were saying that 5 Lorette...
is truly the healthiest restaurant in Paris.
Everything's *organic.* It's not just vegan.
And gluten-free!
It's totally the healthiest place...
Here you can totally get more than enough to eat, there are so many different things on your plate,
but at the end of the meal, you're not in a food coma.
You're doin' yourself good...
Exactly. And actually what I love about eating here is... like, you guys know I love to eat... and dessert especially,
as you guys well know, but what's so cool about eating here is that everything's healthy and light --
well not everything... the burger isn't "light"...
but since we eat so healthily, you have room for dessert!
Yeah, like you're not bloated, and as you say, you're not in a food coma.
So, my bowl was so good -- filled with nutrients...
super crunchy... there were a bunch of different textures.
And my maki was so creative!
And since they put cauliflower rice in lieu of normal rice,
- Because it was the "raw dish."
So they couldn't put normal rice. - Exactly.
And the portions were generous -- there were loads of avocado in there...
And there was a bunch of tamari. (Tamari is the gluten-free version of soy sauce.)
With sesame seeds... yummy-yums.
And, actually, I love (vegan) sushi... but I'm realizing that it's kinda one of those things where...
sushi is like a vehicle for tamari, for me.
I admit it.
And kale chips! And sweet potato chips...
So good.
The only thing missing from your dish was the wasabi!
Right -- totally. The only thing missing.
Spic-ay.
Because we love it... we love everything spicy. We're like that. The real "spice girls."
So good.
So it's raw cacao with cacao nibs on top...
Raw cacao powder...
A red fruit coulis...
I have panna cotta.
Made with almond milk, apparently, with pineapple purée on top...
It's so good. There's cinnamon on top. Yummy.
...with grilled almonds.
It's so good. I wonder how they were able to create this flan-y texture...
And it's not too sweet.
Can I try, please?
Go for it.
Lots of different flavores, I loved it.
And, I mean, it's super healthy.
It's fruity and... light!
So, mine, the raw chocolate cake, wasn't... in a word... "light"...
But that's why it's a smaller size.
Maybe you noticed that it was just a little round thing, but actually,
after a few (large spoon) bites,
it's WOW, so rich!
It's cacao in its purest form.
So anyway, we've had a big, scrumptious meal...
and we still feel light and comfortable.
And filled with energy... we don't need to, like, take a nap.
Ready to take on the world!
So verdict?
Delicious, healthy...
And gorgeous!
Exactly, I was going to say that the ambiance is so lovely...
with all the magnificent colors...
The beautiful plate arrangements...
So beautiful.
We are big fans of Rina, the owner,
she's such a nice and warm person, and so is Faïcal, the chef.
So, of course, we know Rina really well because we do our workshops here,
but even if you don't know Rina, as soon as you walk in, you'll get a warm and friendly greeting.
Everyone here is just the nicest.
And for example, there are a few things that I can't eat, and they are super thoughtful and pay attention to detail.
It's incredible. You're "home" here.
You're at ease...
It's a wonderful spot.
You're cozy, comfy, and well fed.
Big thanks to Rina and the 5 Lorette team.
