So this is the Which Vitamix to Buy in 2017 video.
<music playing> <laughter>
Alright, so it's 2017 Which Vitamix Should You Buy?
Okay, first of all, you need to know that owning a Vitamix has never been easier.
First of all, there's easy payment plans.
So zero interest through PayPal, available on Vitamix's website.
Easy.
All the new machines, the Ascent Series, they come with a 10 year warranty.
That's 3 years longer than the previous warranties on the full size models.
10 years!
And then the third thing that makes owning a Vitamix easier than ever... it's no longer
a crazy thing to do.
It's kind of a right of passage.
Vitamix machines are mainstream.
It's normal, it's not a weird thing, a crazy outlandish,
questionable decision to get a Vitamix.
It's easy to do today.
Okay, so what does it look like today?
What are your choices?
There are three categories.
You can see them if you look at the Vitamix website.
There's three categories.
First of all "Personal".
Let's talk about... no, let's talk about, what are we talking about?
"Legacy" first?
Alright.
Uh, let's talk about legacy.
Legacy machines.
There's a million different variations, many of them are great.
They all come with a seven year warranty and they are NOT dishwasher safe.
These are the legacy machines.
Also formerly known as the C Series, the G Series, great machines.
Okay?
Okay, so category two is "Personal" blenders.
What you need to know: the personal Vitamixs are far superior to any NutriBullet, MagicBullet,
any personal-size Ninja, far superior.
But, the personal Vitamix machines are far inferior to any of the full-size Vitamixs.
Okay?
So they are kind of in the middle.
They come with a five year warranty, and these machines are dishwasher safe.
Okay?
Personal blenders.
Now, the "Ascent".
The Ascent is new in 2017.
These are the new machines and here's what's new about them: they are a lot like the predecessors,
the legacy, but there are four big differences.
One: the containers, they come with a self-detect... or no... it's a smart-detect technology.
What does that mean?
Three things - it knows what type of container is on it, so it'll adjust the programs
(if you have programs on your machine).
Two, it'll stop blending if the container
gets knocked off, safety.
And three, Ascent machines can work with an eight or a twenty ounce cup.
So personal blending on a full size machine.
Super exciting, super cool!
This is what we got most excited about when we first saw the Ascent.
These little eight ounce cups, the little baby cups.
Baby food, small batches, tiny batches of dressing, chopping, all sorts of applications.
Like so so cool.
Eight ounce cups.
Um, se.. thir... second thing, unique to the Ascent.
The wireless technology.
It's in it's infant stages but all these machines, they are equipped with BlueTooth technology.
In theory, down the road, all the Ascent machines can be connected with the
Perfect Blend scale and app and other things that what the engineers tell me is really
just a matter of flipping a switch on to make everything connect.
So wireless technology in the Ascent.
Third thing.
All Ascents are dishwasher safe.
So you can put the container in the dishwasher, run it.
We don't use our dishwasher to clean our container because we use our Vitamix so much we would...
we run our dishwasher a lot less than we clean our Vitamix.
But if you want to get a deep clean, if that's something you want, you can put your container
from the Ascent into the dishwasher.
Great.
And the fourth thing about the Ascent that makes it unique: ten year warranty.
This is the greatest warranty that you'll probably never use.
One percent of these machines are sent back for service.
So it's 2017 right now, in 2027 I'll talk to you then.
Okay?
It's probably still going to be working just fine.
These things last much longer than their warranty.
But peace of mind, ten year warranty.
Crazy!
Free shipping both ways with a ten year warranty too, by the way.
Okay?
So those are the four things that are really special about the Ascent.
Containers, wireless, ten year, dishwasher safe.
Okay?
So, we got the legacy, we got personal, and we got Ascent.
Who should get what?
Okay?
Who would get a legacy contain... a legacy Vitamix?
First of all if you found an amazing deal, get a legacy.
Especially if you are looking for, if price is your only, your most important factor,
most of the Certified Reconditioned machines today are legacy machines.
C Series, G Series, Certified Reconditioned.
Another reason you would maybe want to get a legacy is if you have
a bunch of, secondary containers.
So maybe a thirty two, maybe a dry grains container.
Those containers are not forward compatible with Ascent.
So if you somehow stumbled acro... upo... uh, across these containers, you need to get
a legacy machine that are, that is compatible with those.
Okay, that's why you get a legacy.
Couple of instances.
Personal-size Vitamix.
Personal Series.
Why would you get one?
Well, if you're only making small drinks for one.
A personal Vitamix is a great pick.
I can think of a couple examples, one: Grandma!
I get some, we get several emails from people in their later years saying
"hey, I only want to make green smoothies for one".
Small small batches.
Okay, a personal blender is perfect for you.
Also, another example, if you'rea road-warrior, if you live out of your suitcase and especially
if you already have a full-size Vitamix, a personal blender for the road is great buy.
I wish I had that when I was traveling back in the day.
Okay, why would one get an Ascent?
In 98% of cases you should get an Ascent.
New Vitamix owners should almost always get an Ascent
for those four reasons we talked about.
I need to look at them again because I need to make sure I'm saying them right.
The smart containers, so the 20 and the 8 and the censing of the containers, what's on there.
Dishwasher safe, 10 year warranty and <la la la> wireless technology.
Those four reasons, it doesn't make sense for you to not get an Ascent given that they
are priced the same as the legacy machines.
Now, assuming that's you, you are one the 98% of people that should get an Ascent.
Let's talk about what Ascent is right for you.
And before we do that, I need a sip of water because I've been talking fast and a lot.
<laughter> <sips>
And one more thing I just thought of, why you would want to get an Ascent today.
This is the platform the line, the series that Vitamix corporation is committing to
for the long run.
So any new releases of accessories, of software, of upgrades, this Ascent Series lineup of
Vitamix machines is what Vitamix is committing to for the long haul.
So to have the product that is going to be supported for the next several years going
forward, that's why you would want an Ascent.
Okay.
The best Ascent for new owners?
Is the A3300.
Now which corner are we going to put it in?
Where is there a place to put it?
Up here?
We'll put it up here?
Okay. <laughs>
The A3300 has the most features for the best value.
Here's what I mean: the A3300 has touchscreen controls, but it also has a dial to control
variable speeds.
Now, while it does not have traditional pre-programmed push-button settings, you can get the desirable
walk away blending effect that we think makes for the best owning experience.
The best Vitamix owning experience is walk away blending.
So when you're making queso put all the nuts and the pepper and the seasoning in,
press the soup setting and walk away.
But in this case, in the A3300 it works like a microwave.
SO, not like microwaves, it works like a timer like a microwave that you're familiar with.
You say 6 minutes, 10 speed, Start, you can walk away, it will stop when it's done.
Another reason we think the A3300 is so great for new Vitamix owners is because it does
not have those push button programs.
So we hear a lot of people disappointed, in... when people are disappointed in their Vitamix
purchase it's often because they misconceive or misunderstand
what the programs, the preprogrammed settings really are.
what they do.
They think that oh it's some magic robot it's gonna sense what's in there,
make everything perfect.
It's really just a timer.
So we think that having a more manual control is a better situation is a better set-up for
new Vitamix owners to really get the hang of how to work their machine,
how to hear the sounds and how to feel the blends.
I think I covered everything for the A3300.
Our pick for the best Ascent for new owners.
Okay?
Okay.
Now the runner-up for best Ascent for new owners is the A2500.
It's the same price as the A3300, the differences are:
the 2500 has three preset programs, push button.
I think it's a "Smoothie", a "Soup" and a "Cleaning".
Push, Start, Walk Away (see note above).
From a usability perspective, it's basically the same as what you would get in the model
we just talked about.
Set it up, walk away.
But in this case, it's push-button (see note above).
The A2500 has switches.
Okay?
So switch to Start, switch to Pulse.
This is a traditional Vitamix configuration.
So the A2500 gets you basically the same features as the 33 without touchscreen
and for people that like a more tactile control of their machine
and sort of feel the variable speeds
sort of as they connect to the motor.
The A2500 is also a great pick.
Okay?
Check on the microphone just a because... okay, we're still on.
<background> "that would be a lot of talking"... Yeah, holy crap.
Okay.
Now if you're looking for the latest and greatest, if you like the best all the bells and whistles.
If you want the Big Kahuna, if you want the Mother Mother Bear, Momma Bear, if you want
the best you can buy, the Ascent for you is the A3500.
Here's what you get: all the features, touchscreen, five pre-programmed settings,
a brushed stainless finish option, and a timer that counts up and down.
Like all the Ascents, it comes with the 10-year, the wireless technology, dishwasher safe,
everything that an Ascent can do, with the most features.
The A3500 is beautiful machine, that's the machine for you.
Okay?
Last but not least, if you want just to get into the Ascent Series for
the least financial commitment, that's the A2300.
This is the all manual Ascent.
Switches to Start and Pulse, variable speed control, no programs.
Now, to be very clear, this is going to get, you know the A2300 is going to get you the
same results as any of the other Ascent machines.
So really here you're just saving on features and getting a machine
that's more manually controlled.
But it's still an Ascent and it's great.
K?
So those are the four.
The two really good ones for new owners, the two best for new owners,
the A3300 and the A2500.
The sort of budget pick or the most economical is the 2300,
and the latest and greatest, the Big Kahuna, is the 3500.
Okay?
Now, most importantly when you're making the decision of which of these four to go with,
you gotta think about what do you want to live on your counter.
What looks right in your kitchen from a design perspective, from a color perspective.
This thing, you're going to want it to live on your counter and it's gonna be there for
the next decade or more.
So, you gotta love the way that it looks.
Pick something that's going to live on your counter
that you're going to use every single day.
Um, I... don't... what... did I miss anything?
What else did I miss?
So you know the four Ascent options, I want to reiterate something, why we are so excited.
Aside from the 10-year warranty, aside from the wireless, aside from the container technology,
the dishwasher safe.
We're most excited about the Ascent because of the eight ounce container.
When we saw this thing it was, we were jumping for joy.
I mean, one of the biggest complaints that we heard and that we felt.
Owning a legacy Vitamix was the ability to make very small batches.
And this problem is completely solved with the eight ounce cup and the
twenty ounce To-Go container.
So small batches of dressing, chopping some seeds, making a small amount of flours.
These types of things, even baby food, these types of things
are now possible with the Ascent.
And we can tell people "yeah, get the Ascent, because you're going to be able to make these
things that people in the past were frustrated about and couldn't really do".
Guys, Shalva and I do this for a living.
This is our livelihood, this is all we do.

Oh, were you wondering what's in this box?
Yeah...
I'm not gonna tell ya.
No, just kidding, it's an A2500.
We had a 3500 all throughout Q1 of '17, we loved it.
We wanted to give the 2500 a spin, play with the switches, get a feel for sort-of that
more tactile control of the variable speed knob.
We're actually opening it up in a minute here.
We're going to do another video with it, so check that out.
That'll be posted soon.
