Wow! Trump Unloads Gargantuan Executive Order—Wall Street Is Stunned

Remember King Midas, who turned everything he touched to gold?

Well Democrats are the exact opposite… they're more like Apocalypse, Destroyer of Worlds.

After the 2008 financial crisis, the interventionist Democrats stepped in to provide "much-needed"

regulation to Wall Street with the Dodd-Frank law.

Instead they just instituted higher costs, heavier regulatory burdens, and more "too

big to fail" structure for the banks.

It has not turned out well, as costs have skyrocketed and the risk of bank defaults

remains.

So Donald Trump, who loves turning things to gold, has stepped up to fix the absolute

disaster the Democrats have created.

In a King Midas-like move, he just signed two executive orders that signal freedom and

prosperity for America—and the destruction of the terrible Democrat legacy.

From the Los Angeles Times:

President Trump, who has vowed to dismantle the landmark Dodd-Frank financial reform law,

will take aim at two of its pillars Friday.

During an appearance at the Treasury Department, Trump is scheduled to sign two presidential

memos ordering six-month reviews of the 2010 law's authority for regulators to designate

large firms as a risk to the financial system and to try to shut them down with minimal

collateral damage if they're on the verge of failing, the White House said

Trump also will sign an executive order directing Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin to review

significant changes to the tax code since the start of 2016 to determine whether they

"impose an undue financial burden on American taxpayers," "add undue complexity" or

"exceed statutory authority," the White House said.

So the hard work still remains ahead, but there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

A freer, more prosperous economy that is not weighted down by heavy tax and regulatory

burdens promise an age of growth that could eclipse Reagan's tenure.

Thankfully Trump is not like the Republicans, who would spin round and round, one issue

at a time, and never accomplish anything for the American people.

In this case the accomplishment would be eliminating the economy-killing regulations from the "big-government

happy" Democrats, instead favoring limited regulations that allow individuals and businesses

to succeed once again.

PDP is dead, APC is a 21st century miracle - Gov El-Rufai - Duration: 2:38.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Wednesday, February 28, said the Peoples Democratic Party is dead as a brand and there is no viable opposition to the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress.

The governor made this statement in Ilorin, Kwara state while delivering Al-Hikmah Univeristy's first public lecture titled: 'Governing justly: Perspective from Far and Near with Lessons for Nigeria.

El-Rufai said APC is a miracle party that was formed a year before 2015 and still succeeded to uproot PDP which had been ruling for sixteen years, The Nation reports.

He said: "APC is a miracle; we are a party that is just five years old but we are a miracle, a 21st century miracle.

A party that was formed a year to the election and it ejected a party that had ruled for 16 years, is a miracle.

We will solve our problems and we will win the next elections, even in more states because we are capable of solving our problem while the other party is so disorganised and misinformed.

"The reasons why Nigerians voted out the PDP in 2015 was because they were tired, everyone could see that the country was heading towards collapse, so people voted against the PDP.

"There must be a consistent, unwavering focus on security, peaceful co-existence and human development goals that will deliver justice to the people.

we previously reported that the national working committee of the APC has set up a three-man committee to embark on a fact-finding mission to Kaduna state with a view to identifying the remote and immediate causes of the disagreement.

It will be led by the deputy national chairman (south), Engr Segun Oni and is expected to also identify the immediate causes of the disagreement and the circumstance that led to the demolition of the house of Senator Hunkuyi.

The committee is expected to report back to the NWC within a week. Other members of the committee are the national auditor, chief George Moghalu and Hajia Rahmatu Alliyu, national woman leader.

What Is The Role Associations Play In Society? - Duration: 3:17.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the future.

It's a topic that I'm very interested in and I tend to focus on tech (artificial intelligence,

3D printing, and additive manufacturing blockchain), the sort of large-scale changes that are coming

into our industries and professions.

But, I also spend a lot of time looking at globalization, looking at climate change,

looking at income inequality and social instability globally.

I believe that associations really need to take a very hard look at the position they

stand in the middle of this confluence of events.

To me, associations are at their best when they are serving as translators.

When they're looking at trends and they're digesting them and feeding that information

back into their industries and professions.

So those industries and professions can make the correct pivots at the correct times in

order to protect as many people as possible.

It is not for associations to suddenly serve their members.

I truly believe that the association of the future has to take a leadership position inside

their industries and professions and holistically and systematically look at all of the different

ways that their behavior and that their objectives impact the larger society around them.

I think associations are going to have to be more clear-eyed about what their members

are going to be facing.

I don't believe that we can disconnect disruptions coming in the workforce from the tech side

and from other sides from a larger commitment to social justice and to the human condition.

It is very easy for associations to believe that they are there simply to follow the wishes

of the members and to base their decision-making on what the members request and I think there's

a role for that but I also think that association leaders have a larger responsibility.

They need to work in their entire vertical and they need to work horizontally as well

to ensure that we are playing a positive role and we're making the kinds of compromises,

making the kinds of decisions, creating the kind of education, so that we can contribute

to a better world for all.

So the future of associations is bright but only if we accept the role that we play.

We take a clear-eyed look at technology and change and we realize that we are change agents

and we have a great responsibility to implement those things that will help us all be better

people.

Withholding of assent is not the end of the Peace Corps bill, it is still on transit - Duration: 3:27.

The senator representing Abia North senatorial district, Mao Ohuabunwa, has expressed optimism that the Peace Corps bill will scale through despite its rejection by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the PDP senator, the bill was still in transit and that it would definitely complete its cycle.

President Buhari this week informed the House of Representatives and the Senate that he was withholding his assent on the bill due to paucity of funds and duplication of duties.

But Senator Ohuabunwa told journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, February 28, that he was extremely surprised that the president did not jump at the bill especially because it could potentially "endear his party (APC) to the people.

His words: "Personally I was surprised because I thought that, it was a bill the president would jump at, knowing that it would be an opportunity to create jobs for our teeming youths, especially now when we have so many security challenges.

"For me, I thought that this is one bill that would help us at this time and the government and the party really would jump at it, at least, as something that would endear you to the people.

This is more like the people's bill. "Youths are already yearning for it. Everybody is geared towards it. Everything must not be legalistic in a political dispensation.".

Speaking on the issue of funding cited by Buhari as part of the reasons why he rejected the bill, the lawmaker said: "There is no where you have a domiciled fund, kept for a particular program or project of the agency or government.

The creation of the agency would now enable provision of funds. You should look at things for the benefit of the people and going extra mile for providing even resources for the funds.".

According to him, the president should have assented to the bill because it is a "scientific approach to security, unemployment and intelligence reporting. He said what the country needs at the moment is intelligence gathering and civil way of fighting crime.

On the excuse of duplication of duties, the lawmaker said, there is virtually no agency that does not interwove with others.

He said the only agency that performs exclusive function in the country is the Nigerian police, which is solely responsible for prosecution of accused persons in court.

He assured Nigerian youths that the bill would surely reach the last point of legislative process, adding that, "Withholding of assent is not the end of the bill.

According to him, "the bill is still in transit. It is in a process. Every bill has a process. Withholding of assent is not the end of the bill.

So the bill has a process. I believe that this is one bill that will complete its cycle..

Swearing Is Good For You (according to this book) - Duration: 4:17.

Hi everybody. I'm book riot contributing editor Maria Christina and today I've

got a Thursday video for you. I wanted to talk to you a little bit about a

nonfiction book that I really liked. Non-fiction satisfies my curiosity. It's just

a way to learn about a topic that I am interested in or just introduced me to a

topic that I know nothing about. Sometimes I have questions.

These non-fiction books have the answers. And sometimes these non-fiction books

just tell really fascinating stories about people or moments in time.

Non-fiction, fantastic. But I recently read a nonfiction book that was really all

of those things but also pertained so much to where I feel like I'm at in my

life right now. And that would be swearing is good for you

by Emma Byrne. Okay the thing about this nonfiction book that is super, super

timely for me is that I've got a kid who is starting to pick up

lots of language quickly. And I've got a mouth that really kind of deserves to be

washed out with soap. You wouldn't know it from these videos because I keep them

family friendly but I swear quite a bit in the privacy of my own home. And it's

something that I am consciously cutting back on because I don't want to have

that awkward conversation with any of her peers parents about something that

she may repeat somewhere. This book has helped me feel more comfortable just

with being a person who uses profanity when appropriate. And I think if you do

too, and I'm pretty sure if you're quite honest with yourself,

you probably are one of those people, this will be fascinating and

justify some of your behaviors for you. So if you're interested in the history

of language, if you're interested in psychological studies on why we use bad

language sometimes, this book is going to be a delightful read for you because it

does cover those things with attention paid to gender and different cultures

and different languages outside of English, outside of American English —

British English, Australian English. It's going to tell you so much about why we

swear, when we swear, how we swear, and show you the value in swearing, while

also being a greatly entertaining read. Emma Byrne is a fantastic writer, not

just a fantastic researcher on this topic. So swearing is good for you.

Practically I am still going to try to censor myself around my small child.

But if I'm just home alone talking out loud to myself or my cats, I'm not changing

how I talk because I'm okay with it.

I really want to swear right now but I'm not going to.

Okay. What about you? Have you got any favorite books on language? Have you got

any thoughts on encountering swear words in books that you read? Let me know.

Anything that has come up from this video that you want to talk about, put it

in the comments and I'll see you next time. Thanks for watching. Bye.
