THANK GOD After So Many Attacks on Trump, He Just Hired a Marine for the Ultimate Job

President Donald Trump has had a lot of nut jobs threatening his life ever since he took

office.

There have been people jumping the White House Fence, driving cars into it, stealing guns

to attack him, and many other bad things.

Sadly, the Secret Service has NOT been doing their job very well.

That's why Trump did the only sensible thing…Call in the Marines!

According to Politico, Trump is about to hire retired Marine Major Gen. Randolph Alles to

take over the Secret Service.

Alles is extremely qualified for the job.

Besides serving 35 years in the US Marines, he currently works as acting deputy commissioner

of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Maj. Gen. Alles will be replacing Joe Clancy, Obama's pick to head the Secret Service

who has done an absolutely HORRIBLE job his entire time in the office.

Just last month, under Clancy's watch, one attacker jumped the White House fence and

ran around for 17 minutes before the Secret Service caught him!

That's so bad…

I think an accomplished Marine like Randolph Alles is a GREAT pick for this job.

The number one concern here is the safety of the President, so whoever can do it is

who we need.

If you think Trump is smart to surround himself with Marines, then Share this with your family

& friends and let them know.

God bless President Donald Trump and his entire family.

Hey.

I'm really glad you set this up.

I'm so sorry for what happened.

Oh, wow.

I am really happy to hear that.

I was thinking this conversation was

going to go a lot differently.

I don't know.

It was an honest mistake.

I mean, if I had known you were a cop,

I never would have treated you that way.

So you're sorry for not knowing I was a cop sooner?

Yeah.

And that's it.

Yeah.

But you shouldn't have treated me that way,

whether I was a cop or not.

What do you mean?

I was just walking down the street.

Set up email and send documents in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials - Duration: 3:00.

Hi, and thanks for watching.

In this video, we'll look at how to increase

productivity by setting up the ability to create

and send documents by email directly from

Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials.

We'll see a couple of scenarios that illustrate

how this can save you time. For example, we'll

see how we can quickly respond to a customer

who has requested a quote.

After we create a company we'll find several

assisted setup guides in the

Business Assistance area on the Role Center.

The one we want is aptly named Setup Email.

Let's start the guide.

We don't need to do anything on the welcome

page, so we'll choose Next to keep going.

Now we need to specify the account to use.

If we select Office 365, things are a little easier

to set up. All we need to do is enter our user

name and password for our account.

Let's say we want to use another type of email

account though. For example, an Outlook.com

account. We'll go back and select Other.

This is a little tricky, because we'll need to enter

some information about our email account.

We probably don't know what to enter off the

top of our head, but the information is usually

easy to get from our email provider.

In this case, we've gathered the information we

need about our Outlook.com account.

Here's how we enter it.

For authentication, we'll use the

default method, which is Basic.

We need to know the address of the

SMTP Server, which we'll enter in the following

format: smtp-mail.outlook.com.

For the SMTP Server port, we'll use the default

port number, which is 587.

We want to keep security tight, so we'll leave

the Secure Connection check box selected.

Now we just enter our credentials for our

Outlook.com account, and finish the assisted

setup guide.

And that's it. We're ready to try things out.

We'll go to our documents and find an invoice

that we haven't sent or posted. This works for

other types of documents as well, such as

purchase orders.

Here's one. When we choose Post and Send,

Financials suggests that we send the document

by email. That's what we want to do,

so we'll choose Yes. When we do,

Financials turns the invoice into a PDF and

attaches it to an email message.

Thanks again for watching this video about

setting email and sending documents

without having to leave Financials,

which is great because it enables us to quickly

send documents like purchase orders

in just a few clicks, and without

having to leave Financials. Helps us get paid

faster, because we can send an invoice right

after we complete a job.

SciShow Marches for Science - Duration: 4:49.

[Michael Aranda:] On Earth Day 2017,

people from all over the world gathered to march in support of science.

SciShow traveled to Washington D.C. in solidarity for

those advocating for more widespread science literacy,

increased funding for scientific research, and emphasis on data-driven public policy.

Despite the rain, the streets were packed with tens of thousands of people

from veteran researchers to enthusiastic future scientists.

While we were there, we wanted to hear what people had to say when we asked

[Michael:] Why do you think science is important?

[Woman:] I don't even know, (Laughing) so many reasons!

It's hard to pinpoint.

[Woman:] Everything we see around us is science and we have to defend it.

[Man:] I don't know why anybody would want to know things that weren't real or

true.

[Man:] Honestly, I debated whether it was important to come down here today

because I'm not sure what good marching can do.

So, what I brought today was a message for other scientists: We need you to run for office.

It's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it,

and we really need some scientists to do it.

[Man:] Policy should be based on evidence, not ideology.

[Woman:] It doesn't matter what political side you're on,

science makes our world safe and clean.

[Michael:] Why do you like science?

[Boy:] Uh… because it's cool.

[Michael:] I agree.

Did you know that without science, you wouldn't have a poncho

which means you would be wet right now.

Science is keeping you dry.

[Boy:] Yeah.

I know.

[Man:] I'm queer and I'm actually barred by the FDA from donating blood.

And it's estimated that for, uh…

Every time you donate blood, you're able to save, uh, three lives.

And, uh, I haven't been able to donate for, uh, a year now so…

18 people who could have received, you know, transfusions have possibly died

because I wasn't able to donate because of an outdated policy.

[Girl:] I just love science, it's really interesting to me and it's really fun.

We might be able to find a way to stop cancer and global warming.

[Man:] Well, I used to be the, uh…

Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition.

[Michael:] Wow!

[Man:] And I know that, without science,

our troops are defenseless, and so I'm here for all the veterans who need science to keep

us safe.

[Woman:] Well, without science you wouldn't have medicine.

The NIH and the CDC are being denied funding and we still need it; it's very important.

[Man:] Generally defunding and silencing and censoring of science,

I think, is a really—really, really bad sign

and we need to stand up against that.

[Woman:] Personally, I'm very concerned about climate change

and the future of our planet and our species and all the rest of the species on the planet.

[Woman:] You know, Trump needs to know (laughing) that the climate is changing.

[Boy:] You know, we're gonna ruin the climate and then raise sea levels.

[Woman 1:] I am a devout Christian and I believe in science.

We have to take care of mother Earth because if we don't, we're not gonna be here.

[Man:] It's essential for promoting our health, our prosperity,

and for our security and our sense of wonder.

[Girl 1:] We help people learn about science!

[Girl 2:] And we love when they learn about science!

[Girl 1:] Yeah!

[Michael:] Having a march for science might make science seem like a political issue,

but, in reality, science is the most unbiased tool

we have to understand our universe.

It allows us to ask questions while setting aside personal agendas.

Ideologies divide us, but ideologies can't change gravity.

They can't change the speed of light.

They can't change the fact that asparagus makes your pee smell weird.

It was science that uncovered those unwavering truths,

and it was science that allowed us to harness those truths

to build roads and buildings and lightbulbs and agriculture and even the very microphones

that climate change deniers use to spread doubt

about the efficacy of science.

Science is the thing that has propelled humanity beyond

fighting for survival with every waking moment of every day.

It's given us both the time and the means to explore things that bring us joy,

like art and knowledge and love.

And the sooner we collectively embrace that, the sooner we can tackle issues that transcend

political boundaries,

like energy crises and food and water shortages and disease and pollution and biodiversity loss.

Science is the path to a better future for everyone.

And that's certainly worth marching for, but marching can only go so far.

It's sustained activism that's going to make the real difference.

At SciShow, we're gonna keep spreading knowledge,

we're gonna keep educating the world about the importance of science,

and I hope that you join us as well.

Thank you for watching this very special episode of SciShow News.

If you want to help us educate the world about the importance of science,

you can go to patreon.com/scishow,

and of course, don't forget to go to youtube.com/scishow and subscribe.

Ted Cruz Just Figured Out How To Pay For Trump's Wall! Mexico Won't Like This… - Duration: 1:52.

Ted Cruz Just Figured Out How To Pay For Trump's Wall!

Mexico Won't Like This…

Senator Ted Cruz just came up with a brilliant plan to build Trump's wall.

He is pushing a bill that will be used to seize the assets from drug kingpins like El

Chapo.

He is going to use it to fund the border wall.

The idea behind the act is that U.S. prosecutors will get $14 billion in drug profits and other

assets of El Chapo's.

Numerous drug traffickers and cartels will seize assets from top level cartel members.

The acronym for the law is "E-L-C-H-A-P-O"

Cruz is quoted as saying:

"Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep

Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across

our southern border."

If this works, then Ted Cruz is going to get that wall paid for and it is going to be glorious.

*** Let's build that damn wall, y'all!

We need to make this happen.

Ted Cruz just made it happen.

Thank you, Ted! (h/t Axios)

Create a job in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials - Duration: 4:00.

Hi, and thanks for watching.

This video introduces project managers to jobs

in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials.

We'll look at two different ways to create jobs,

including budgets, to increase visibility into

costs, predict cost overruns, and maximize revenue.

From the Project Manager role center, we'll

use the Navigation list to see our list of jobs.

The list shows two sample jobs, but we'll create

a new one. On the Job card,

Financials assigns the Job Number,

and we'll enter basic information,

like a description and the customer.

We'll assign ourselves as the Project Manager,

so our role center will display the job.

Now we'll create tasks.

Typically, the Job Task Number is part of a

number sequence that we define.

We'll keep it simple, and use 100, 200,...

The Description lets us add information about

the task. We can have one or two tasks, such

as Consulting or Design Services,

or a list of many tasks. We'll leave the

Job Task Type set to Posting, so we can

add budget information on a planning line.

To add budget information,

we'll open the Job Planning Lines window.

We enter the Job Task Number, or use the

lookup. The Line Type can be Budget, or

Billable, or both, depending on the line cost

and how we bill the customer.

We can also set the Planning Date

and Document Number.

Next, we'll add items, and our resources, which

are the people who will do the work, and the

quantity. The cost and price amounts

come from the resource or item assigned.

We can add as many lines as we need.

Back on the Job card, tasks show the totals for

costs and invoicing in the Job Details Pane,

which helps us stay on budget.

The Posting FastTab is also important.

We should choose a Job Posting Group, and a

WIP Method. We can assign job posting groups

per job or, in the Job Setup window, we can

specify a job posting group that Financials will

assign to new jobs.

The Jobs list on the Project Manager

Role Center now shows our job.

When we set up other jobs like the one we just

created, we can save time by copying its tasks.

Let's do that.

On the Project Manager role center, we'll

choose New Job to start the Create New Job

assisted setup guide. Financials assigns

a job Number, so we just need to enter

a description and customer number.

We select the job to copy from,

specify tasks, or leave them blank

to copy all tasks.

If we want, on the Apply FastTab,

we can copy quantities and dimensions.

We can now see our new job.

Notice that the job has tasks,

and that some are bold.

This is a way to group tasks

and create sub tasks.

The Begin-Total and End-Total job task types

work with the Indent Job Tasks option on the

line to indent sub tasks in groups

so they're easier to see.

Notice those lines don't show budget numbers.

Thanks again for watching this video about how

to create a job in Financials, which helps project

managers understand their cost structure,

predict when they're at risk of going over

budget, and maximize revenue from their work.

Q & A Who is Kit Anyway? - Duration: 5:05.

Hello!

So, I've been making these videos for about a month now, and thought it was time for an

introduction video.

As you know, my name is Kit Englard, and I am DeafBlind.

I moved to New Jersey about a year ago from Pennsylvania, and the first thing every single

person I ever meet wants to know about me is my blind and deaf story.

Ah, so real quick: I was born low vision, but it wasn't caught

until I was 12 years old.

My prescription changed every 6 months and the doctor finally eerily told my parents

that was slowly going blind, but he didn't know why.

I was later diagnosed with Intracranial Hypertension after I woke up one day in extreme eye pain.

So, my vision is unstable, it is slowly getting worse, because I actually have two eye conditions.

One makes it unstable, and the other one just makes it steadily get worse.

Last year I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease, which is a disease in the ear.

It causes balance issues and it also causes vertigo spells.

I have bilateral Meniere's disease, meaning I have it in both ears.

So how much can I see and hear, is the second most popular question I get asked.

I am legally blind, meaning I have 20/200 vision.

I am also severely photophobic actually I'm facing a window right now, and it is really

hurting my eyes.

And I have low frequency, mild-moderate hearing loss.

Depending on which ear.

I do travel with a seeing eye dog, which is unusual for someone with my level of vision.

Sometimes people think I have "too much vision", I don't.

I have a Seeing Eye dog because I am severely photophobic and I am completely blind in sunlight

and at night.

I refer to her as O'Hara on the internet, because in college I had an issue where people

knew the name of my dog.

Even people who didn't go to my school, and people would yell at her from across the street

and it almost caused accidents and I almost died.

So, here on public forums I call her O'Hara.

She is a golden retriever, and she is almost 5, and I love her.

I am an active member of the orthodox Jewish community, I do a lot with the Deaf Jewish

community as well.

This June I'm excited to be going to my first DeafBlind Jewish weekend event, which is called

a DeafBlind Jewish Shabbaton.

So, modern orthodoxy means that I am observant I dress modestly, I keep the laws of kosher,

I'm Shabbos observant-- meaning I keep all the laws for the Jewish sabbath and holidays.

I try to be involved in study groups stuff like that to learn more about Torah and more

about Judaism, that's what I do.

I started this blog to help parents, and students, and anyone else out there looking for resources

on how to get better connected in the science field.

People with disabilities make up a very tiny portion of STEM students and professionals.

I know growing up I didn't know about resources and my mother didn't know about resources,

and I don't want a lack of awareness to be a reason why children and young adults don't

get opportunities in the STEM fields because I think everyone deserves equal access to

science and mathematics education.

If that is something they want to pursue.

There are also a lot of myths around people with disabilities, and what they can and can't

do.

I know as a student in math and physics, I was constantly told that I couldn't go on

to be a researcher, and that I needed to focus on becoming a teacher for the blind-- even

though I didn't want to be a teacher of the blind.

And I don't want that to be a barrier either.

People with disabilities are perfectly capable of going into the sciences computer science,

what-ever you want, because we can do that too!

I am trying, to sort of fight that stigma as well.

So, in my spare time I enjoy reading, and writing obviously, I like knitting...

I enjoy...

I play D&D in my spare time.

I am part of an ASL D&D group.

I also enjoy hula hooping and I enjoy running.

Well, that was today's video.

Please let me know if you have any questions in the comments.

I'm happy to answer questions about blindness, or DeafBlindness, or finding a good D&D group,

ahhh, science and math resources for kids, braille, ahhh, hearing aids, I don't know

what-ever.

What-ever's on your mind, ask about it in the comment section I am happy to give you

an answer if I can.

I will see you later.

Year-end closing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials - Duration: 5:03.

Hi, and thanks for watching.

This video shows the basics steps to close the

books on a fiscal year.

First, we need to stop people from posting

transactions in the previous year.

One way to do this is to set up a date range

for posting in the General Ledger Setup window.

Set Allow Posting From to Jan 1st

in the new fiscal year.

To allow ourselves, and maybe others, to post

in the previous year, we'll set individual date

ranges in User Setup. These override settings

in General Ledger Setup.

We'll create a new fiscal year before we close

the previous. Years and accounting periods are

used for page filters and report parameters.

On Home, under Setup & Extensions, Manual

Setup, Finance we find Accounting Periods.

Choose Create new year,

specify the start date of the year,

12 periods with a period length of

1M, which is one month.

This creates a new fiscal year, and we're ready

to close the previous.

There are a few optional activities

for closing periods.

We might need to make general ledger

adjustments in journals.

For adjustments, we'll prefix dates with a "C,"

for "Closing Entry."

Financials omits closing entries in reports,

unless we specify otherwise, and we can use

the date to identify closing entries.

We'll use this to post adjustments that we don't

need to report to management,

but do need for accounting reports.

If final adjustments distribute amounts across

multiple general ledger accounts or

dimensions, we'll use recurring journals

because they allow allocations as percentages,

quantities, or amounts.

For example, if departments are set up as

dimensions, we can distribute

rent expenses across departments.

We also want to make sure we posted all open

documents for the previous year,

like orders, invoices, and purchase invoices.

To ensure that reports for year-end correctly

assess balances for customers, vendors, and

bank balances, we need to adjust currency

exchange rates.

We can update the rates manually,

or use a service.

Afterward, we'll run the

Adjust Currency Exchange Rates batch job

to adjust gains and losses in the ledgers.

To ensure adjustments are correct,

we can run various reports.

For general ledger, there are various trial

balance reports, for example a detailed trial

balance or trial balance report.

For customers and vendors,

the Aged Receivables and

Aged Payables reports are often useful.

For sales tax reporting,

run the Sales Tax Collected report.

When ledgers are up-to-date,

we can close a fiscal year. We don't have to,

but closing enables Financials

to give us filtering options.

On the Accounting Periods page,

choose Close Year.

When periods are closed,

the Closed and Date Locked check boxes

are selected. We can't reopen the fiscal

year or clear the check boxes.

Although a fiscal year is closed,

we can still post general ledger entries to it.

When we do, the PriorYear Entry check box

on the entry is selected.

We've closed a fiscal year and posted

adjustment entries.

Now we'll close the income statement and

transfer the net income for the year

to an account under owners' equity

on the balance sheet.

We'll use the Close Income Statement

batch job, which processes general ledger

accounts of the type Income Statement,

creates entries that reverse their balances,

and puts the entries in a journal for posting.

We'll fill in the fiscal year ending data,

select a journal template, a journal batch,

give it a document number,

and select the retained earnings account.

Financials generates a general journal

we can review before posting.

All entries are marked as closing entries.

If we didn't specify a retained earnings account

in the batch job, we'll enter a line with a

balancing entry that posts the net income to the

correct general ledger account.

Now we'll post the journal.

Afterward, we can run trial balances,

accounts receivable,

and accounts payable reports.

That's it! We're ready for a new year.

Thanks for watching this video

about how to close a fiscal year in Financials.

Set up a CRM connection in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials - Duration: 7:13.

Hi, and thanks for watching.

This video shows business managers how to

increase productivity and tailor sales

processes by connecting Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales

and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials,

so you can synchronize data.

The scenarios we'll look at are:

The Office 365 and Sales prerequisites

for connecting with Financials.

How to connect the apps

and synchronize basic data.

First we'll set up some users for our Office 365

organization in the Office 365 portal.

We'll need:

An Administrator, so we can manage things.

This user was added when we created

our Office 365 organization.

An Integration user, for exchanging data.

And at least one user for a sales person.

To set these up:

We'll choose the Admin tile

to open Office 365 Admin Center.

Then Users, Add User, and follow the steps

on the New user page to create

Integration and Sales Person users.

We'll need the user names and passwords

for the Administrator and Integration users

to connect Financials with Sales,

so we'll make a note.

Next, we'll add the

Dynamics 365 for Enterprise Edition Plan 1

subscription to our Office 365 organization.

Had we already added the plan,

we could skip these steps.

Open Billing, and then Subscriptions

to see our active Office 365 subscriptions.

Find Dynamics 365 Plan1 Enterprise Edition Trial

that contains Dynamics 365 for Sales,

choose Start trial, and complete the process.

Now, we'll enable users for Sales by assigning

licenses for Dynamics 365 Plan 1.

Repeat these steps for the Administrator,

Integration, and Sales person users.

Open Users. In the Admin Center,

choose Active users, and then select the user

to assign the Sales license to.

In Product licenses,

for the selected user, choose Edit.

In the Product licenses page, expand

Dynamics 365 Plan 1 Enterprise Edition,

and turn on the license for the user.

Now, we'll assign roles to Sales users:

On the Office 365 portal home page,

we'll choose the Dynamics 365 tile

to open the Dynamics 365 portal

and find our Dynamics 365 apps.

In Sales, choose Settings,

Security, and Users.

Each user must have at least one security role.

Choose the Administrator user, then

Promote to Admin to make the user an admin.

Choose the Integration user,

then Manage roles to assign a role,

such as the Sales Manager role.

When Financials and Sales connect,

Financials assigns roles to this user.

Choose the Sales Person user,

and then Manage Roles to assign

the Sales Person role.

And that's it for the prerequisites.

Let's connect Sales and Financials, so we can

synchronize Contacts, Customers, and Items.

In Financials, we'll switch the User Experience

from Basic to Suite, and then sign in again.

In the Business manager role center,

choose Actions, and Assisted setup to run the

Set up Dynamics CRM Connection guide,

which can also be used

to setup a connection to Sales.

Enter the URL for Sales.

To get it, we'll open Dynamics 365 for Sales

and copy/paste it in the assisted setup.

If the URL is correctly formatted,

we can proceed.

Choose Next, then enter Integration user's

email address and password.

Afterward, choose Finish.

The guide needs the Sales administrator credentials.

Ok, the apps are connected,

but before we can synchronize data,

we need to map, or couple,

some data in the apps, such as

Sales people in Financials to Users in Sales,

and the units of measure in Financials

to Unit groups in Sales.

We'll couple Sales people with Users first.

In the Search for Page or Reports field,

we'll enter salespersons,

and then choose the link.

Choose a salesperson that is created

as a user in Sales to view details, then

choose Navigate, Coupling, Set up coupling.

On the CRM Coupling Record page,

choose Assist in the Dynamics CRM text box

to display the list of Sales users.

Select the user, and choose OK.

Click Synchronization log entries

to see if the coupling was successful.

The process is the same for units of measure,

so let's skip that, and look at customers.

Click Customers.

Choose a customer,

then Navigate, Coupling, Set up coupling.

On the CRM Coupling Record page,

choose Assist in the Dynamics CRM text box

to display the list of accounts in Sales.

If we don't find an account in Sales,

we could choose Create new.

Choose OK to couple the

Financials customer and Sales account.

Click Synchronization log entries to see results,

or Account to open this customer in Sales.

The process is the same for coupling

items and contacts in Financials

with products and contacts in Sales.

Thanks again for watching this video about

connecting Dynamics 365 for Financials

with Dynamics 365 for Sales, which keeps data

in Dynamics 365 for Financials and Sales apps

in-synch, giving salespeople the full picture, so

they can sell more and with higher confidence.

Increases productivity, and prevents mistakes,

by reducing data entry.

WILLIAM GUZMAN: I always knew that I

wanted to do something more with my degree.

I wanted to advance it, either to a PhD program or a master's

program.

So I applied here first and started to realize--

I started to look at analytics programs that they have here.

The first four courses of the scholarship,

I took it at the Graham School, right here

in the Master of Science in Analytics.

I then decided to apply.

I talked with one of my professor, Chris [? Doloc, ?]

and I applied to a program.

After I applied, I got in, and I started next quarter.

The program directors of the HSI, Esther and Eileen,

are so important.

They have helped me to keep up my study,

to keep ahead of the game.

And also I would like to mention the assistant dean of students,

Jarquetta.

I always think of her part of my family

like that, like we are family.

And also, the professors has been so welcoming,

and they have helped me a lot in every possible way.

Stories With Steve; Verbose Fairytales for the Loquacious, episode 2 - Duration: 3:40.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

As with most Fables and Parables,

It happened Once Upon a Time

The boy's job was to watch the sheep.

With nothing to do...

He would get bored.

On the day of our story

The boy had an idea to cause trouble

simply to amuse himself.

So he shouted:

Wolf! Wolf!

The villagers close by heard the shouting!

They ran to help the shepherd boy!

Of course, they brought some weaponry...

When they got to the pasture

It was obvious they had been tricked!

The shepherd boy pointed and laughed

They shouted, "You fool!"

Don't cry "wolf," unless there's a wolf!

They angrily went back to their normal tasks and duties.

It wasn't long

before the shepherd boy became bored again.

Wanting some more excitement

he shouted, "Wolf! Wolf!"

Once again, the villagers grabbed their weapons and ran out to help.

Once again, they realized they had been fooled.

They angrily said to the shepherd

"Fooling us once was pretty annoying.

But fooling us twice?

Now we're mad!"

Unaware of the coming danger,

he just laughed at them.

He felt so clever, having fooled them twice!

The villagers angrily stormed off.

As always in Aesop's Fables

The third and final incident

would teach the troublemaker a lesson.

The hard way.

Just as the sun was setting

A real wolf entered the scene.

For reals!

The wolf wasted no time...

Killing as many sheep as he could!

Eating all he could hold!

Uhh...yeah...

The boy could do nothing to stop the wolf.

Even though he shouted as loud as he could

Anyone who heard just thought he was lying again.

Later as he thought about it,

The lesson I've learned today is

No one believes a liar.

Even when he tells the truth.

He promised not to lie anymore

Set up dimensions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Financials - Duration: 4:08.

Hi, and thanks for watching.

This video shows how to set up dimensions,

which help analyze business transactions.

For example, track sales revenue per

geographical area or customer segment,

track expenses per department, and so on.

The setups depend on what we want to analyze,

and the structure of our company.

For example, we'll create a Department

dimension to track revenue and expenses

for departments.

Dimensions require that the Suite experience

is chosen in the Company Information window.

In the Business Manager Role center,

you will find the dimension setup under Home,

Setup and Extensions, Manual Setup,

and Finance. Choose Dimensions.

A dimension named Department is provided,

so we'll use that.

To define the values that we can choose

for this dimension, choose Dimension Values.

Departments has values for three departments,

Administration, Production, and Sales.

If needed, we can arrange dimension values in

a hierarchy, like the chart of accounts.

Now, we can add our Department dimension to

transactions, so we can analyze the

transactions later.

We'll make it easy to enter dimension values

and do basic analyses by making a dimension

global, so it's available throughout Financials in

journals, documents, and look-ups in the

general ledger. Global dimensions should be

dimensions that we often use. Create global

dimensions in the General Ledger Setup

window, by choosing

Change Global Dimensions.

We can add default dimension values as

defaults to master data, like customers, items,

vendors, sales persons, and general ledger

accounts, so we don't have to enter them on

every transaction. We're tracking revenue and

expenses for departments, so we'll add defaults

to customers because they belong to the Sales

department. Let's look at a customer card.

There, we choose Navigate, and Dimensions.

This customer always buys through the Sales

office, so we'll use only this value. In the

Value Posting field, we'll choose Same Code,

so Financials uses only the Sales value.

So, what happens when we post a sales

invoice, where the default values differ for the

customer and salesperson?

It's a problem only if Value Posting is set to

Same Code for both the customer and

salesperson. If we don't set the value posting

parameter, or require a dimension, we can set

up a hierarchy in the

Default Dimension Priorities window, so that

Financials can pick one.

Search for Default Dimension Priorities.

The Default Dimension Priorities page shows

Source Codes, which are types of business

transactions. We'll prioritize the tables to get

dimension values from.

For example, for sales, customers are first

priority if there's a value, the salesperson is

second, and then the item.

If there's no default dimension, we'll add one so

we can analyze the data.

Posting with dimensions is easy. Typically,

default values do the job for us.

However, for special transactions, like

corrections, we might want to change the

dimensions. For documents, default values are

assigned to the header and used on lines.

We can change both.

If we do, Financials asks if we want to update

all lines. New lines use the new values.

And we're done! Thanks for watching.

We've just seen how to

use dimensions to track and analyze

transactions, set up many dimensions and

accommodate different setups, control how,

and when, dimensions are used, and resolve

conflicts between multiple entities

with different default values.
