Disney Doll Story

We are not going to make it.

Hold on.

Jay.

Jay.

Moana.

Moana.

Should we rescue them?

Bring them onboard.

Are you awake?

Where am I?

You might have heard of me.

I'm Captain Hook.

Captain Hook?

Where am I?

You are on my ship.

We dragged you out of the water.

Am I a prisoner?

my question to you is.

are you a vampire?

What?

Are you going to drink everyone's blood if I set you free on my ship.

It's all in this book.

Magic spells so powerful that it can save Auradon.

Mal, You are coming home with me.

You can't take Mal with you.

She is a vampire.

It is true.

I'm a vampire.

You.

You turned my daughter into a vampire.

We can save them.

Everyone.

Mom, it's all in here.

Book of Shadows.

Book of Shadows?

Do you know how dangerous that book is?

I can do it.

No.

I'm taking you out of Auradon.

No, you can't.

Watch me.

This is not the end.

I will destroy Auradon until every last one of you vampires are gone.

No.

You are staying here until you come to your senses.

Mom, you are locking me away?

Mal, you are vampire.

My daughter!

How horrific.

Mom.

This is all Bens' doing isn't it?

Mom.

How could I have not seen this?

He's going to pay for this.

Mom.

Please.

No.

We have to get off this ship.

My boat.

My boat is gone.

Please.

I would like you to join me on the deck.

Where are we?

Auradon.

What?

Why are we at Auradon?

I heard you are a thief, especially good at stealing valuable magical artifacts.

I don't steal for others.

Especially for a pirate.

No?

Then I have no choice but to keep Moana here.

What?

If you want to see Moana ever again, you will go to Auradon and find a book for me.

What book?

Book of Shadows.

How do you know about the book of shadows?

I know that you and Mal took the book from the dungeon.

How do you know I was at the dungeon?

Enough with questions.

Go to Auradon and find me that book.

Ben, Jay and Moana are missing.

Sorry, Evie.

I can't help you.

I have to save Mal.

Ben, she is with her mother.

I think you should be happy for Mal.

It was you, wasn't it?

Yes, I told Maleficent to take Mal home.

Why?

Why would you do that?

Ben, Book of Shadows is evil.

I had to stop Mal from using the magic.

And Maleficent is the only one who can really stop Mal.

Mal?

Mal?

Are you there?

Ben?

You stay right there.

I'll climb up and get you out of there.

Ben, that's crazy.

Maybe.

But I'm a vampire.

I can jump up there.

Ben!

Mal!

Let's get out of here.

there it is.

Ben, I need to get my book.

We don't have much time before Maleficent notices you are gone.

Ben, it's gone.

The book is gone.

Mal, forget the book.

Someone's there.

Is that Jay?

Jay.

Return that book to me.

Without the book, I can't save everyone at Auradon.

Mal, I need this book more than you.

Sorry.

What's going on in here?

ha.

Trying to escape are you?

Ben, you are not going anywhere.

Here.

Excellent.

Now, let us go.

I have to save Audrey.

Hmmm.

This could be a problem.

You are going to help me read this book.

What?

I don't know how to read this book Then find someone who can read it.

Why is it so important to you?

It's not like you know how to use magic.

Because I need to save someone and this book is the answer.

What is the Disney Vault? - Duration: 5:41.

So what is the Disney vault, is it real, why does Disney put movies in it, and is it a

bad idea?

Well for starters no, it's not real.

There is an actual Disney vault that houses the animations for some of Disney's most

classic animated films, but that's different.

The Disney vault I'm talking about today is the name given to the release strategy

for their movies on the cinema and home movie market, where a film would be released for

a limited run, and then taken off the market, or put "back in the vault", for seven

to ten years.

Today the idea of the Disney vault seems kind of pointless, but there are reasons why Disney

started the practice, and it goes back over 70 years to the 1940s, before it was even

called the Disney Vault.

We have to go back to Disney's first animated feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The film was a major hit when it first came out in 1937, and so Disney re-released the

film in theaters just seven years later in 1944.

That might sound like a cash grab, and to be honest it kind of was.

Disney was feeling the economic pressures of World War II at the time.

Animators were leaving the studio to join the military, Disney was wrapped up working

on propaganda videos for the US government, and their overseas revenue was virtually non-existent

due to the war going on.

It was one of the handful of times in the company's history that their future was

rocky and uncertain.

So while re-releasing Snow White didn't solve their problems, it at least helped.

On top of that there was a genuine benefit for the audiences in putting out the film again.

At that point, seven years later, there would be a whole new wave of children who had never

seen the film.

Remember, this was the 40s.

There was no Netflix.

No Blu-Rays or DVDs or VHS tapes.

TV was still pretty new and the industry's relationship with film would be rocky for

a while anyway.

If you missed a film in theaters, you just missed that film.

So when Disney argued that re-releasing the film in theaters would introduce a new generation

of children to the film, they weren't kidding.

These were kids who literally had no other opportunity to see the movie.

This re-release would set a precedent that would continue on for decades, with Disney

re-releasing classics every seven to ten years for the same reasons.

It was not only a dependable source of revenue, but it kept Disney's films in the forefront

of people's minds around the world.

Then the 80s rolled around and the world was introduced to VCRs.

With this new technology, people had the ability to own a film and watch it whenever they wanted

and however many times they wanted.

Today it seems like a no-brainer, but back at the beginning of the industry, there was

a lot of resistance within the Disney company, including from Walt's nephew Roy, to sell

it's classic films on VHS.

They worried that owning the films on VHS would kill any desire to see the re-releases

in theaters, and even feared that the mass production of the movies itself would drag

down Disney's image, cheapening the brand.

They also feared that these VHS copies of films would be passed from generation to generation,

killing any future market for the movies.

The compromise that the company came up with internally was that they would test the waters

with one film, Pinocchio.

Furthermore they would set the price of the film at $80, thinking that at such a high

price only video rental stores would buy the movie which would in-turn keep ownership out

of the picture for most people.

Lastly and most importantly, they would limit the window during which they'd sell the movie before pulling

it off the market until the next generation.

The Disney Vault.

Eventually they would try slashing the price down to $30, and as a result the film quickly sold out

They'd continue to experiment with Sleeping Beauty and then Cinderella, with both rapidly

selling out in stores across the country.

Cinderella alone would generate $180 million in sales, which was no small figure for a

company trying to pull off an economic turnaround.

While the decision to sell Disney films on VHS was vindicated, they stuck

to the Disney Vault concept

It was both a compromise that would keep the market from being flooded with their films,

as well as a clever way to increase their profits.

Normally when a film is released on video, the price would drop over time.

By re-releasing the films on video every seven to ten years however with a new version, they'd

have the ability to charge full price all over again.

That brings us to today.

The media landscape is wildly different than the age of VHS tapes and early DVDs.

We have online streaming, we have digital downloads and the piracy that comes with it,

and we have an endless number of websites that allows us to buy whatever we want, whenever

we want.

But beyond just the changes in technology, we have also grown accustomed, as a society,

to experiencing media on our terms.

So with all of that said, is there still a place for the Disney Vault?

If we look back at the original reasons and intentions behind the vault, it seems like

the answer is no.

We no longer have to imagine an instance in which new generations are unable to watch

these films between releases, and we've seen that having convenient access to these

movies don't cheapen them as the pieces of art they are.

All that leaves remaining is the ability for Disney to charge full price for the films

every decade.

While that might be enough of a reason for them to keep it going, it's certainly not

one that benefits us.

So I say it's time to open the Disney Vault and keep it open.

...not the actual Disney vault though.

Keep that one locked.

There's a lot of valuable stuff in that one.

This Is Not A Bee - Duration: 2:36.

Hi, this is Kate fom MinuteEarth.

Close your eyes...no seriously, close your eyes, and imagine a bee.

Now open your eyes.

You probably imagined something with yellow and black stripes, like a honeybee.

But bee-lieve it or not, most bees aren't yellow-and-black striped.

And what's even more confusing is that there are lots of stripey "bees" that are not actually

bees.

They're flies, wasps, and even moths, yet they look so much like our idea of a bee that

we're constantly getting fooled.

But we're not actually the ones they're out to bee-devil.

Many insects that can defend themselves have bright patterns that teach predators to keep

their distance.

Say two hypothetical stinging species have different warning colorations; a predator

must sample lots of individuals of each before learning that both patterns yield un-happy

meals.

Yet if the two species look similar, far fewer of each kind will get chomped before the predator

learns to avoid that pattern.

So stinging species, like bees and wasps, often end up converging on a single appearance.

Once predators learn that yellow-and-black striped prey aren't worth the risk, cheaters

creep into the system.

Neither flies nor moths have stingers for defense, but simply looking like an insect

that does provides pretty much the same protection.

So is that insect a bee or not a bee?

If it just stung you, it's a bee or a wasp.

Along with stingers, both have short, elbow-shaped antennae and four wings - although those can

be hard to see; bees are the super-hairy ones, while wasps are mostly bald.

On the non-stinging side, if it has two wings and looks like it's wearing giant goggles,

it's a fly.

If it has long feathery antennae, it's probably a moth.

If you can get beyond the fear of getting stung and begin to appreciate their differences,

you may find that beauty is in the eye of the bee-holder, or the not-a-bee holder.

Like bees, we humans are also hairy - and for those who want to keep their hair in check,

BEAUTY IS LIFE Tutorial – How to: Create "special effects" with the diamond sparkle product - Duration: 5:38.

BEAUTY IS LIFE is Beatrix Isabel Lied.

On her in-house produced YouTube channel,

the beauty expert shares professional tips for make-up, styling and skin on a weekly basis.

BIL: „Hello, my beloved beauty fans.

I hope you had a great week.

I am very happy to welcome my today's guest."

Jenny: "Hey, my name is Jenny."

BIL: "Hi Jenny, many thanks for introducing yourself.

I like that.

My name is Beatrix.

You brought a very specific question today."

Jenny: "Right, I would like to create some "special effects" around my eye area

and would be very happy if you could show me some tricks."

BIL: "That's a clear and confident briefing.

I like that!

There is a product called "diamond sparkle" which contains – like the name says – many diamond and sparkling pigments.

One can create various effects with this product.

My assistant Marina is waiting for us and looking forward to showing you the product together with me."

Jenny: "Sounds great."

BIL: "The product we focus on today is called "diamond sparkle".

It's available in many different shades and color schemes.

But first of all we are going to work with a little trick:

since you have already applied a basic foundation and a powder,

the BEAUTY IS LIFE foundation primer helps to fix the diamond sparkle later.

The product needs a "groundwork" to stick on.

The BEAUTY IS LIFE wispy brush helps to pick up the diamond sparkle pigments.

After having done that, apply the diamond sparkle on the area where you have used the foundation primer.

This has a clearly visible effect.

For the eye area it is important to work more accurately:

In order to create a stunning effect below the eye lashes,

we grab another primer suitable for a precise application of the diamond sparkle.

We use a lip or an allround brush and apply the primer just like an eyeliner below the eye lashes.

Do not waste too much time and apply the sparkle product immediately on the sticky primer.

That's how you do it right!

Dear beauty-fans,

of course you do not have to create both effects at once.

As we all know: Sometimes less is more.

But I wanted to show you all possible variants and Jenny joins in!

Of course you should apply this product in accordance to the occasion.

So the look might not fit 7am and school time, but definitely a prom or hours at the beach.

Please notice: the "aha"- effect varies depending on the incidence of light.

Maybe you can tilt your head a little, so that the viewers can see your shiny cheeks."

BIL: " Jenny, we chose this silvery, golden nuance.

The product is also available in pure silver, copper and blue to name just a few colors.

But for your green eyes and your golden hair, I thought this one might fit best.

How do you like it? What's your feedback?"

Jenny: " I like it a lot.

The nuance fits perfectly."

And again the comment:

You do not have to choose both variants,

we just wanted to show everything that is possible with the product.

You can also apply the diamond sparkle on your décolleté, for example when wearing an evening dress.

Professionals have even used the sparkle product for the lips

and applied a lip-gloss or another sticky, creamy foundation before.

Kissing might be difficult afterwards, but who knows.

But it looks good.

To sum it up:

I am happy that I could show you this multi-facetted product,

because that's what I love to do: creating products for amateurs and many different tastes.

But of course BEAUTY IS LIFE offers a wide range of products for professionals.

This product is definitely a borderline case, special and well-liked by beauty professionals.

Thank you, Jenny, for this request.

It gave me the opportunity to show a diverse product like this one.

I am looking forward to seeing you again next week, all the best. Bye."

Jenny: "Bye."

Maxine Water is used to fighting injustice. Trump is next. - Duration: 2:39.

I have to attribute to this president, to Trump, that he so offended me that he inspired me.

He inspired me to do something about him.

I oppose this president.

I do not honor this president.

I do not respect this president.

Politicians, often times, get neutralized by protecting themselves and not wanting to

step outside of the box for fear that they won't be reelected.

I decided to take the gloves off, and let come what may.

I don't care about whether or not there are parts of my district

who are not going to vote for me.

If they're not going to vote for me they're not going to vote for me.

But this is a moment when I really feel very strongly that we cannot step back and allow

this man to continue lie and distort and distract and divert.

Even what I'm doing as the ranking member of the financial services committee

it was not enough.

It was not connecting with enough people.

It was not doing enough to change people's lives, or really connect with people

to help them to know that you are fighting for them.

We protested in front of the South African embassy.

We were arrested.

In my earlier days, when I was doing some of this fighting, like fighting for the release

of Nelson Mandela in prison, I think people got that.

We don't want anybody killed.

When I fought against police abuse in Los Angeles, people understood that.

Or when I worked on Katrina, when the floods took place, people kind of get that.

But in financial services, you're talking about credit default swaps and derivatives,

and people don't get the connection between them and that mortgage that they signed off on.

And it always made me feel as if I kind of had some handcuffs on.

But when Trump emerged as the leader of this nation, and I decided to take the handcuffs off

It was bigger than my district.

It was bigger than just about financial services and regulation or deregulation.

It was bigger than even about apartheid.

This is about the democracy.

This is about the direction of this country.
