Grandpa! Is that tea? Did you catch a cold?...
I have an idea. Would you like me to bathe you with the tea?
That doesn't sound that good...
No, you'll see...It's hot enough and the weather being that cold....
Yet, remind me; what we were supposed to talk about today?
Grandpa, you start to forget...
We'll talk about ideas for animation.
Ah, right!
WE ANIMATE! #2, Idea
In our 1st episode we talked about the genres of animation
and that we'll create our short with the two stop motion techniques,
claymation and cut-out animation.
In case you haven't watch that episode,
you can click there
watch it and then return here to watch episode 2.
Ok. Any ideas for a movie?
Let's say this; according to our idea,
we can find a certain genre of animation which we believe it can better express that idea.
Or, vice versa, if we want a certain genre of aniamtion - i.e. claymation -
we can adjust our idea, in order to be better expressed through the plasticine.
Now Petros, you asked me if we have an idea for a short movie.
Let me ask you this; where can we find an idea?
Where? Where?!
An idea might come if we sit on our desk and start thinking, right?
Right!
But an idea doesn't always appear any time you want her.
What do we do then? We send her an invitation?
Something like that.
Mostly we let her sneak in.
Huh?...
AN idea might appear suddenly and everywhere.
An idea might come when you're in a walk.
(An old reading book)
An idea might appear while reading our school books.
In a next courses you'll find that all school lessons are somehow related to animation.
(This book isn't mine. I'm not that old...
I tell you the truth...)
Ideas ay come by reading any kind of book,
starting from mythology and fairy tales an ending to nuclear physics.
Or by observing the traffic or the weather.
Especially today, with the snow fall, I got already 2-3 ideas!
An idea may come when you're out for a dinner or for a coffee with your friends.
We might get ideas from dreams
but you must know that you have to take notes right after you wake,
we forget our dreams.
I'm off now for the second part of my dream...
You 'll see any kind of object and that might give you some day an idea for a story.
You! Do you have an idea for an animated short?
Right it down in the comments field, so we all can read it!
Perhaps THIS might be the idea that we will make a reality here.
But, that means that inspiration comes from everything!
Exactly! That's why we must always keep a notebook and a pen with us;
to write down our idea and to discuss it with our friends!
All ideas are not complete stories!
But, we can bring together all the ideas - ours and our friends' - put them down
and to line out a complete story
From there, we can go to the screenplay.
Great! Great!!! I got it! I got it!!!
I got the script!!!
Well, tell me!
Let me have that.
BOY: Bye
GIRL: Bye.
They turn and they go.
THEEND
Ok, I got it.
On the next episode we'll talk on how we write a script for animation.
I think I wrote an excellent script!
I'll bathe you with the tea Petros!
Thank you very much for watching this episode!
I'm wating to read your ideas for an animated short, right?
Also, if you have questions, ask me in the comments field and I'll answer ASAP.
