Prince Charles is beaming these days and it's because of his newest granddaughter courtesy
of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
In his first public appearance after the birth of Princess Charlotte, Prince Williams was
very chatty with photographers.
"I was hoping for a grand-daughter," he said, according to Daily Mail.
"Someone to look after me when I am very old."
During a visit to the Poundbury Gardens, Prince Charles was gifted a rose by Lucy Simpson
who said that the flower is named after Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby girl, Princess
Charlotte.
He beamed, "A Charlotte Rose?
You have managed to do that already?
How marvellous.
How jolly nice to see it.
It will look beautiful in my gardens."
Then Prince Charles told researchers and staff at the Poundbury Cancer Institute about the
birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby.
"I am really rather thrilled," he said.
The Duchess of Cambridge delivered at the Lindo Wing of Saint Mary's Hospital, the same
hospital were Prince George was born two years ago.
Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby, Princess Charlotte, was born at 8.34 a.m.,
fully healthy and weighing 8lbs 3oz.
At 11 a.m., the Kensington Palace released a statement on the website informing the arrival
of the princess.
A town crier also made the announcement outside the hospital.
"The Duke and Duchess make a quick appearance to show Princess Cambridge to an ecstatic
crowd.
They then make their way home after retreating to the Lindo Wing for a few short minutes,"
the article said.
