"Bonjour !" which means hello everyone welcome back to my channel today we're
going to do a second tag so that we can know each other a little better
this tag was created by Teach like a girl she's right here and I put a link
in the description box below number one what was your worst moment in
your first year of teaching ? My worst moment was when I lost the keys of my
classroom it was awful I had so many weird ideas in my head
like they had to change all the locks of the building just because of one key
it was horrible so I called my mentor teacher it was a Sunday afternoon and he
was mmm pissed off only mading me feel worse after that I just went to the
administration for a new key the secretary was like we don't give keys to
students I am NOT a student I'm a biology teacher thank you when you're
young you don't like to be seen as a teenager as you get older it's kind of a
compliment number two what was your best moment in your first year it isn't
really a moment because the whole year was so amazing I was in high school and
the students were perfect no classroom management needed I had a
blast really it's not a moment in particular I met this beautiful person
who is still a dear friend of mine we just bond really
it was so quick we had not so many things in common but we just clicked
number three what is your biggest regret from you first year
my biggest regret would be not being myself at all I was so afraid that my
mentor could have a bad opinion about me I built this invisible wall between me
and them and I couldn't really be friendly I had to lie a little I was
always thinking about being a good teacher and nothing else it's really
difficult to play a role can I say it I don't know but I'll say it anyway
playing a part all day long it's exhausting don't do it number four what is
something you wish you knew before you starting teaching I wish that someone
told me that if some students misbehave it has nothing to do with who I am as a
person it can be related to what I've represent
for them as a teacher it's not about me it's about the teacher
so sometimes it's yeah voilà yes I speak in French in my videos yeah it
gives it gives a distance which is really important to have otherwise
everything go right through your heart and it's difficult to cope with it it's
not always about you yourself your inner self it's something about you being a
teacher in front of them number five what advice would you give to first-year
teacher my advice would be dare to be yourself because you know it would make
things really easier if you like laughing loud just do it even in front
of your students if you like singing don't be ashamed to do it if you like
dancing well you can dance on the playground and well don't do it on your
very first day of course but who cares don't be the teacher that the students
expect you to be just be yourself maybe they will be like who's this guy
they will get used to you and to who you are that's their problem not yours as long
as your professional work hard and do your job properly and seriously as long
as they see that you're really invested in your job that you care for them
everything will flow when I guess that's it now we know each other a little
better I will do something different the next
time something about teaching of course I don't know what yet maybe something
about the teachers lounge although I've read somewhere that you don't have any
teachers' lounge anymore in the u.s. I don't know I've read an article really
interesting about it so I do it anyway if you like this video please give it a
