I have taught a student who had a one. I actually thought about getting their one in the AP.
and I'm proud of myself
because that Kid eventually learnt enough to feel confortable with Computer Science.
So, if you create an atmosphere where they think "I actually belong here"
they may not get it all in your class, they may not pass the AP
but they've learnt enough, you've empowered them to believe in themselves.
And that's great, because that kid is going to move forward.
A kid wrote to me at the end of last year, and she said :
"I now have the tools I need to get out of Hartford"
That's more important to me than all my students get a 5 or a 4 or 3 or whatever,
because we want ALL kids, not some kids ...
Some kids would always do well
I can set my structures in a way that some kids do well.
But I can also create an environment where every kid feels empowered to move forward.
So, mobile CSP, as a part of the National CSP movement which is growing and will continue to grow,
Is really about Equity, Diversity, Empowerment for all kids,
also empowerment for teachers, because teachers are the best, they are the most important group in the whole business,
If we don't do it, nobody does it.
You people are more important in this system than any other person,
Because you do the ... work, The work from place to place
So I want to thank you, I want to say : you are a part of something that's really important.
See yourself as : "I am doing this for my country"
This is not just a teacher's job.
Teaching is a great profession
So feel that you are doing something important,
feel that you are powerful,
feel that you are changing the minds of children
Positive mindsets, Self belief in themseves, is such an important thing

When NSF setup this, we wanted to train 10 000 teachers,
By last year Mike, we had about 500
and last summer (3)? 200
So it's improving, but we are nowhere near 10 000
So all of you can be a part of helping grow this movement
So, you are important, you are powerful,
and more important, I am here on behalf of the CSTA (the Computer Science Teachers Association
Because we have a vision, to change education for ALL children, not for some children,
Children are still droping out of school
We meet together, we chat, we discuss, we want to get all kids empowered.
And then think of where would this country be if we continue to support only 30% into higher education ?
It's going to change So we need ALL kids, ALL kids, CS for ALL
We need all of you to be involved.
So please come to our meetings. Nobody pays for that, but think about what you are doing.
I'm doing it for my country. If you think that way, then it won't be too much of a burden to show up with the meetings
I'm here now, just because teachers are so important. You are the best. You make such a difference in the lives of young people
We know that any successful person would recall the teachers that influenced their lives.
we are doing a lot.
So please keep doing what you are doing,

More than 1.7 million pilgrims are walking around the cube-shaped Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to celebrate the start of the Hajj pilgrimage. Eid al-Adha celebrations begin two days after the start of Hajj - the important annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the holy city in a desert valley in Saudi Arabia.
The start of Eid al-Adha depends on the sighting of the new crescent moon and its celebration can vary in different countries around the world.
The holy festival, also known as the 'sacrifice feast' or Greater Eid, begins on the 10th day of the holiest month in the Islamic lunar calendar.
Friday September 1 has now been confirmed to be the first day of Eid al-Adha 2017 after the new moon crescent was sighted on August 22.
Saudi Arabias High Judicial Court has confirmed that the first day of the Muslim festival falls on Friday. But India and Pakistan will mark it from September 2.
The festival sometimes falls on different days around the world and is only confirmed by the sighting of the new crescent moon. .
Celebrations of Eid al-Adha vary around the world. Muslims greet each other by saying 'Eid Mubarak on during the festival which involves prayers and visits to friends and family.
The festival commemorates Abraham's sacrifice to God and in some parts of the world Muslims sacrifice livestock such as cows, sheep or goat.
