in this video I'll just show you something that if you've any interest in
marketing your business or promoting or advertising your business online you
should be interested in and it should be of benefit to you
it's a remarkable statistic that I just saw this morning let me just explain I
advertised on YouTube and I advertised on Facebook and I have done videos
before about both Facebook and YouTube advertising but I obviously checked the
data every day every morning and check to see various statistics and various
pieces of data back from the various campaigns so this particular one though
I saw a stunning statistic twitch if you have a business or if you've any
interest in advertising on YouTube in particular on YouTube
you should have a look at this because I think it's actually remarkable you see
here on the screen that I've got a campaign running called residential it's
a called brand awareness and reach basically this is a bunch of videos that
I have on my youtube channel to do with property to do with residential property
to do with buying or selling a property so it's good informational videos I
think there's about 20 in the campaign and all about buying or selling a house
so obviously I do it for the purpose of ultimately getting a lead or getting a
client now the cost of advertising as I've explained before in a previous
video and should check it out with YouTube advertising is remarkable and I
think it's particularly so at Ireland because in Ireland is very very little
but this particular video I want to just bring your attention to this particular
campaign so it's residential brand awareness and reach and this is for
yesterday so it's you see up here on the right hand side 26 vote for 2018 so the
data I'm gonna show you is just for one day and yesterday
so you'll see residential brand awareness in reach you see that I'm only
spending one euro a day and despite that one euro a day which is tiny I've got
two hundred thirteen views 213 views of a video a residential property or
property related video is obviously very very good but you see here the average
cost the average cost is actually zero the average cost is coming back here or
being shown as zero because the total cost was 94 cents in other words it was
less than euro for two hundred thirteen views and the reason the average cost is
zero is because he's I feel less than one set so the polaron context that made
this point before about YouTube advertising I have got two hundred and
thirteen views of residential property videos of my channel for 94 cents less
than euro less than half a cent per view which is remarkable
it is a fantastic return because if you consider us I am a solicitor if I get a
client upon her to buy or sell a house or full of having watched a YouTube
video I'm looking at a fairly decent professional conveyancing fee it's
pretty good work quite frankly and yes I can generate a
hundred views or two hundred views I mean yesterday two hundred and thirteen
views of my videos for 94 cents less than euro that means I can get a
thousand people for five euros thousand people to watch my YouTube residential
property videos and to put it in context a video view on Facebook is only counted
if a person watches 30% sorry thirty seconds of the video so if somebody
watches 25 or 26 or 28 seconds of the video and click away and say I'm not
interested that's fine doesn't cost me a cent not a cent I only
get charged after 30 cents or after 30 seconds rather and as you can see there
from the screen 28th of October 2018 I'm getting 213 views or third I did get 230
news for less than a euro and the cost is so low that is actually coming up
there in Google AdWords data the average cost is calling up a zero view of a
business if you're trying to start a business if you're a sole trader if you
are not tripping or if you have any intention of starting a business
you should seriously consider getting your smartphone making videos starting a
YouTube channel of advertising because quite frankly it is absolutely wide-open
at the moment especially for somebody in Ireland because of very very little
competition hope you find this video useful if you do give it a thumbs up
down below I really appreciate it and subscribe to my channel if you find it
useful you should check out the other video as well and I'm gonna do a more
detailed video about how to actually set up a YouTube advertising campaign
because somebody requested that from me and I will do it but I have another
video there to do with YouTube advertising and Facebook advertising you
should take a look again if you're in business or trying to start a business
or trying to get clients running sort of a business you should really consider
and you should have a look at those videos thanks for watching

Dr Patrick Randolph-Quinney shares his experience in writing for The Conversation - Duration: 3:52.
My name is Pat Randolph-Quinney, I'm a Reader in Biological and Forensic
Anthropology and my main area of research is the forensic application of human
anatomy and identification but also I dabble in lots of other areas as well to
do with human evolution and history of disease, that kind of thing. I've written
several articles for The Conversation and they vary. The first one
I ever did was to do with our own research into the earliest evidence for
fossil cancers and tumours in the human human lineage and it's gone as far as
things like looking at disease and infection processes in dinosaurs,
but the kind of greatest impact is actually in remarking on other people's
research so one of my areas of interest is human evolution and where we come
from as a species and I've been lucky enough to comment on a couple of major articles
for The Conversation which deal with putting the importance of certain
discoveries in context, so stone tools in India, stone tools and behaviours from
central Africa and East Africa. So writing for The Conversation starts
off as an interesting experience, the biggest difference is that you're writing for a
different audience. It's not an academic strictly academic audience you're
writing for the general public and the informed layperson, so the writing itself
is has to be very concise has to be understandable and that's quite
different from the kind of really dense very often turgid scientific writing.
So it's all about it's all about the audience. The process of writing and editing
for The Conversation, again it starts off being quite awkward but it's not
used to so the first article as I said earlier on we dealt with fossils
and cancer and that was a little bit slow to get going but once you've kind of
got through that you actually realize what it's doing - you're actually having a
conversation and the writing process you work with very good editors who are
journalists not necessarily scientists and what they're doing is
making sure you communicate not that you haven't had the serial peer-review as you
do with the journal, so the process is all about making sure that you get the
ideas across in the most effective way. Well the impacts from writing for The
Conversation have been enormous. Part of that comes down to basically getting
your name out there to having people recognize you
so for instance the article on Indian stone tools generated over 170,000 reads
within the first few days and from that there was an article in the 'i' newspaper
which has about circulation of about a quarter of a million and people
start having conversations with you, so they put comments in the in the articles
you get comments on social media and people start following your
research feeds and social media feeds that kind of thing. So the impact I think
is is great in terms of public engagement. It also gets other
researchers who aren't necessarily in your field talking to you as well, so I've had
impact from colleagues who want to do research with me or to collaborate that
kind of thing. OK so the benefit of The Conversation aside from kind of
collaboration and engagement, it's made me a better writer.
The single biggest take-home from writing for The Conversation is that my
scientific writing is actually better now. I've gone through a process where
you look at the articles that you write and you look at the journal articles
and you think okay well how do I make that more understandable you know or you know
is that too opaque, how's that that writing process going to be to the
person who's actually reading this article? So the single biggest benefit for me -
it's actually made me a better scientific writer

Whiteboard Wednesday #7: Tactical tips for Black Friday | Clearhaus Learning - Duration: 4:46.
Welcome to Whiteboard Wednesday. My name is Allan Jorgensen from Web2Media.
Today, I'm gonna be talking to you about Black Friday and giving you some insights on
the tactical aspects of getting the most out of Black Friday.
First off, I like to start in the Danish market saying we were late adapters
compared to what they do in the States but now it's booming at best and the
consumers are ready to get the full benefits of Black Friday.
That's something you should take in consideration when you prepare your own
Black Friday deals or setup, because what we've seen in particular last year, where
we tested a lot of different setups, was that we don't need to provide
50% deals to the customers we could instead give them
something that is a perceived value in the same level. Get ourself a better
earning on our selling but still get the same amount of orders coming in.
So, one food for thought for you guys is that look at your current offering.
Do you really need to remove all the margin? You can actually maybe do 25%, free shipping,
or XYZ on top of the deal and people feel still that they have the
best solution with you guys. You can also do price match, whatever, added communication to that.
So, look at your margin, don't destroy it all - you can actually get away
with offering something else than half price or what we've seen in the market so far.
Secondly, I'm going to be focusing about the tactical parts of what is
Black Friday good for. So, would you sell a lot of stuff at a zero margin? What's
really in it to be inside Black Friday? If you instead focus on doing two things
one is that obviously sell. Utilise Black Friday to get rid of a lot of your inventory,
get a lot of new customers. Secondly, focus on getting permissions
meaning if you can get permissions up towards Black Friday,
you can advertise cheaper when it's at a high rate just around Black Friday
but you can also start communicating with the customers afterwards,
and that's a potential business booster if you do that right. One example could be that you
can start communicating a month before Black Friday's coming up: "You can
enlist in our VIP section or our membership section, hand over a
permission for us to send you emails and we can send you the right information."
You could also go in and say :"a week before we open up for all our VIP club members",
and then they'll feel both special treatment but also you can start
utilising the fact that if you do relevant communication you might get
them to buy more than once. So, we've seen a lot of good cases where you do that a week in advance,
but on the day you do hourly offers, for instance. So you prepared your
customers, perhaps they already bought something from you, and then on the day
you're going to be sending them hourly offers on email. Don't fear that
they're gonna churn. We've seen a minority do that cause the fear of missing out
is intense, especially on that day. So even though they receive maybe 15 emails
in the awake hours of day, they might go in and act on two or three of them.
So, then you could in the morning end up with saying "you bought this from us
yesterday. Add this to your basket and you get free shipping," and then you can
actually get them to use even greater share of wallet on that day in your webshop.
So, that was one key insight you can take away from here.
We also talked about digital marketing. You can also start
thinking about if you have such a strong offer to your customers, you can
send them a direct email, also a direct mail, the physical part of it,
if you have their address and their permission you can actually stand out with this VIP offer a week before,
so you don't mass communicate it, but only communicate it
to the people that you actually want to treat as VIP but also with a higher
intent of buying more from you guys. So that was two tactical things you can do
for Black Friday. My name is Allan Jorgensen and subscribe here for more videos.

Buhari group expels 6 members for fraternising with Atiku - Duration: 3:40.
Buhari group expels 6 members for fraternising with Atiku
Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari (GMB), a political association promoting President Muhammadu Buhari's 2019 presidential ambition, has expelled six of its members for allegedly fraternising with Buhari's opposition, Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku Abubakar is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections. A statement by the Director-General of the GMB, Hajiya Fatimah Goni in Abuja on Tuesday, gave the names of the suspended members.
Goni revealed that the affected members had been parading themselves as members of the association in spite their expulsion.
She, however, stated that the association had notified relevant law enforcement agencies on the fraudulent activities of the expelled persons, whom she said, were bent on tarnishing the good name of the association and that of President Buhari.
"The attention of the Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari (GMB) has been drawn to the activities of some of its suspended and expelled members who are now parading themselves as executives of GMB, and are going about deceiving vulnerable politicians and organisations alike with the intent to misinform, defraud and extort them in this season of politics and politicking,.
"These elements have, in the past weeks, been planning with an evil intent to bring Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari into shame and disrepute in a grand design using the name, logo and letterheads of GMB to make a declaration in support of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
"We hereby draw the attention of the general public that the plan, intent and actions of these criminal-minded individuals do not in any way reflect the views of the GMB and we, by this disclaimer, deny and disown their plans, intent and actions in part, whole and its entirety to be false and of criminal intentions.
"We in the GMB are volunteers for nation building. Our voluntary mobilization efforts for the support of President Buhari is neither for sale nor salable.
"Our time, energy and efforts put in the steering of this organization are with the intention that the administration of President Buhari remains the right choice and the best for the nation in these times when the evil cancer of corruption and its supporting tissues are regrouping to re-infect, re-hijack and re-inflict our nationhood.
"We at the GMB will not and shall never compromise for any article of corruption under any guise whatsoever,'' she said.
The director-general also dismissed Sen. Bukar Ibrahim's outburst that President Buhari might not win the majority votes in the North East in 2019.
She said the GMB had intensified its grassroots mobilization with the hope to ensure landslide victory for President Buhari in 2019.
