Flexor Carpi Radialis Activation - Corrective Exercise for Elbow, Forearm and Wrist - Duration: 4:56.

This is Brent of the Brookbush Institute, and in this video we're going to do

flexor carpi radialis activation. This is an exercise that is for those who are

exhibiting forearm dysfunction. That'd be anybody with issues of the wrist, forearm

or elbow. I'm going to have my friend Cryistal come out, she's going to help me

demonstrate. Now forearm dysfunction, postural dysfunction of this part of our

body generally looks like too much pronation, too much ulnar deviation, too

much extension, and of course we end up in this typing position. Which is

probably why we're seeing a lot more hand, wrist, and elbow dysfunction as

people are increasingly doing more desk jobs, more computer work right. So what

we're going to do is this excessive ulnar deviation, we're going to try to

correct this a little bit by activating the muscle that does the opposite which

would be the flexor carpi radialis. Now the only thing we have to try to figure

out is how to activate the flexor carpi radialis, without also activating the

overactive synergists extensor carpi radialis longus and brevis. So all of

these forearm exercises are fairly simple,

but kind easy to mess up if you not paying attention to your details. So what

I'm gonna have you do is grab one of these FlexBars, These are FlexBars

from Theraband they are the best tool I have found for

this stuff. I'm gonna have you take a grip just like this. I'm then going to

have you smash the FlexBar into your forearm. So that automatically turns

you down into ulnar deviation, which means now all of your radial deviation

is now resisted. So we're actually resisting radial deviation not just from

neutral, because if you try to resist radial deviation just from neutral

alright, like if you let this go, if you were to just go from neutral and then radial

deviate like you don't really have that much motion. But if we resist all the way

from end range ulnar deviation through end range radial deviation, we get a

little bit more motion that way. Alright so you're going to go ahead and radially

deviate. Now what are we going to do to ensure that our extensor carpi radialis

longus and brevis do not kick in, well that's actually pretty easy, all we have

to do is make sure that Crystal here stays in a little bit of flexion.

So if you imagined her having another one of these FlexBars right

here, we don't want her to break neutral with her wrist, go ahead and show us

radial deviation, boom and she stays in just a little bit of flexion and that

works perfect. And you notice here Crystal, you don't even have to use

both hands to do this. You can just kind of smash the FlexBar underneath your

forearm if you're sitting at a table and do it with one hand. This is a

surprisingly challenging exercise, and of course I would use the same activation

exercise protocol that I've used for everything which is 2-4-2, or

2-2-4 count. All right so it's nice and slow, hold at the top and then maybe back

down for four seconds if I want to work on eccentric control. I'm going to do

that twelve to twenty repetitions range, if she can do twelve to twenty perfect

repetitions without veering into extension, without letting those

overactive synergists come into play, then I can give her a bigger FlexBar.

And they actually come in like four or five different sizes here you guys can

see here this blue FlexBar is actually incredibly challenging. But if you have

somebody who has a history of elbow dysfunction, a history of wrist

dysfunction, and for example they play sports it might be very important for

them to start getting very strong at these exercises. You want to try the

other hand? Let me see setup the other hand. I always check, always make sure

that your patient your client can set it up on their own and having them do the

other hand sometimes this is an easy way to do that. What aren't you doing on this

hand that you need to watch out for? Okay good, smash yeah, make sure your wrist

is in flexion. There you go, that's actually a pretty easy thing to teach

guys. Make sure as you're giving these exercises, you're probably giving them

one or two exercises at a time. I wouldn't give them you know a whole

slew of forearm exercises that they're really unfamiliar with to take home,

because chances are things are going to get a little.. not so perfect when they

come back. I hope you guys enjoyed this exercise, that's flexor carpi radialis

activation, with just a little tip to inhibit extensor carpi radialis longus

and brevis.

Homeowners Grateful for Faithful Volunteers - Duration: 4:51.

Panic.

Straight panic because, I mean, it

hit me so hard out of nowhere.

I'm seeing the yellow lines.

I see a little bit of water.

I got the four wheel drive.

I figured no problem.

And all of a sudden the water just came out of nowhere,

and it hit the truck so hard.

We had an enormous amount of rain.

They said in some areas up to 18 inches fell within 12 hours.

And, so, it's just an astronomical amount of rain

that we aren't equipped to handle.

This is a three county problem.

This flood, it has expanded out into now down river, up river.

Yeah, it's just been a major problem.

How fast it happened, it was just overwhelming.

All of our appliances are shot--

furnace, hot water heater, dryer, washer, freezer.

This was my dad's desk, so I know it's 70 years old

and it's gone now.

But stuff can be replaced, but certain things can't.

[CRYING]

She was born on Saturday through C-section, 5 pounds, 11 ounces,

17 inches long.

So. . .

And she couldn't be more perfect.

We got the rains-- it was at Tuesday or Wednesday.

I was on bed rest, so I was home, luckily.

And we were keeping an eye on the river,

and it was crazy how fast it came up.

Like, within an hour it was from the regular river levels

to basically in our backyard.

And just damage of goods--

all that stuff can be fixed, and replaced.

So the volunteers from Samaritan's Purse

are at our house today.

And they are, from what I understand,

are going to be cleaning up the basement

and then putting the anti-mold spray on all

the walls and the basement floor to hopefully keep

that under control so that we can move back

sooner than later, so yeah.

You guys-- Samaritan's Purse came out.

They helped me out so much.

Everyone appreciates it, and you guys

are more than welcome to always come back.

We heard that you had a little girl.

And we're super excited, and we know it's

a little bit of a rough time.

And we passed the hat last night and got y'all some things

for Macie.

Let you know that we're praying for you.

I would say I'm extremely grateful for all the help we've

been getting.

It's a very humbling and awesome feeling that people do care.

I can say she came out with a bang.

When we finally get to bring her to her permanent home,

it's going to be super happy.

Samaritan's Purse-- we're blessed--

we can get the tools on the site.

But, unfortunately, we do not have any self-working tools.

We need volunteer help.

Being here with my daughters has been amazing.

I'm hoping that this will just continuously carry over

throughout their entire lives, and they will do their

very best for the Lord, and they'll do

their very best to help people.

I live not too far from here, and realizing

that this is in my own community is eye opening.

And the woman who lives here, we had to tear apart her basement

because it flooded.

Our basement is our main living area.

It's all of our bedrooms was downstairs

and under 4 feet of water.

And it took two days before it started draining.

I'm absolutely amazed to see that there's

a person from Florida volunteering in Wisconsin.

People are willing to donate their time

to help me get back on my feet and to help me

bring my family back together.

It's astonishing.

I don't think we can say thank you enough.

We're going to be here for a while.

We need you to pray for us.

But we need you to pray about you pushing out of your comfort

zone and getting here to Wisconsin,

and helping these people during this flood.

Why Chelsea's Willian won't face a two-match ban for diving as fans call for star....

Willian was booked for diving in Chelseas Community Shield clash with Arsenal - prompting angry fans to call for a retrospective two-match ban.

The Brazilian appeared to go down very easily in the box after moving past Gunners defender Hector Bellerin, and referee Bobby Madley showed him a yellow.

Gunners supporters took to social media to complain about the dive and suggested the 28-year-old should face retrospective action.

Ahead of the new season a panel has been set up by the FA to review footage from competitive fixtures, looking for cases of simulation.

The initiative is designed to punished the successful deception of a match official, in the hope players will stop throwing themselves to the ground. However, there is a key reason why Willian will not be facing a two-match ban.

The Brazilian has already been booked for dropping to the ground, meaning he has not deceived the match official, so therefore cannot be considered before a panel.

Whats more, only incidents where a player has won a penalty or has influenced a referees decision to book or send off another professional will be punished.

Willians booking was the subject of much debate in the BT Sport studio at half time, with Glenn Hoddle claiming the referee had made a mistake.

Replays showed the Brazilians legs touching, which could have thrown him off balance, and caused him to fall to the ground.

Steven Gerrard pointed out that the referee may have seen this however, but chose to book him regardless because he may have thought he still went down too easily.

ITV EMOTIONAL: Priya turns to Pete for comfort. An Emmerdale mole said: Priya is feeling really low. Shes trying to be a good friend to Leyla by helping with the wedding but she cant help but feel a little jealous.

Pete has made it clear that he loves Leyla and that their fling was a mistake but Priya is feeling so mixed up about everything.

The last thing she wants to do is hurt Leyla but with Sarah having spotted them it might well come out sooner rather than later. Viewers will be able to watch all the action and find out what happens this Thursday.

George RR Martin pokes fun at the long wait for latest Game of Thrones novel 'The Winds of Winter'

George RR Martin is well aware that fans are pretty impatient for the release of his forthcoming Game of Thrones novel The Winds of Winter.

On Twitter on Friday afternoon (August 4), the writer decided to poke a bit of fun at his long-suffering book fans by saying it had been so long since he last visited his publishers offices, the security guard didnt recognise him.

I am in New York City, and everywhere I go people know me, stop me on the street, ask for selfies, he said.

The only place I was not recognised was my publishers offices, where the security guards stopped me and demanded to see ID. Naturally, good-natured fans continued the banter and poked fun right back at the author.

However, some followers speculated on why Martin was at his publishers in the first place. dropping off the final draft of a certain long-awaited manuscript perhaps??.

Although, we may point out here that he surely would have done this online for fear of his probable masterpiece getting stolen or him tripping and his folio flying into air, pages fluttering everywhere.

So, maybe George was just there to get a grilling from his publishers about exactly how far along the novel is – but, according to Martin, we could expect to see it as early as next year.

Taking to his LiveJournal blog last month, he spoke about when we can expect The Winds of Winter and Targaryen family history saga Fire and Blood.

Whether Winds of Winter or the first volume of Fire and Blood will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, he said.

But I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018. and who knows, maybe two..

WINNER Members Share Difficulties Of Filming Outdoors For Music Video - Duration: 1:53.

WINNER, who just returned for a comeback after four months, held a V Live broadcast on August 5.

During the episode, they shared that filming outdoors for their music video wasnt easy. Kang Seung Yoon said, WINNER is famous for bringing rain with us everywhere.

It always rains whenever we shoot, and it was the same in Hawaii, where we shot the music video.. Soompi. Display. News. English. 300x250. Mobile. English. 300x250. ATF.

Lee Seung Hoon added, The weather forecast would say that it wont rain, but it would keep raining and stopping. It was especially so when I was filming my individual scenes. Whenever I climbed anywhere, it would start raining.

I had to just film while it was raining because of that.. Kim Jin Woo shared, I got scratched by poison ivy during the shoot. I still have the marks.

Its not itchy though. Kang Seung Yoon reassured fans by saying, Since it was summer, we were wearing short sleeves and pants, and got in contact with a lot of the plants. But dont worry, because its getting a lot better..
