Waching daily Aug 4 2017

Hi everybody, it's Letitia from lookunderhere. Today we're doing a July favorite,

but kind of on the go. I have to head out the door very quickly, and so I thought I

would do and on the go kind of favorite. My favorite video of this month was

definitely my thrift with me in New York. But this month has been a lot of great

videos coming out. It's back-to-school season in full swing, and then it's fall,

and then it's Halloween, and then it's December and then it's 2018.

It's like oh my god. With makeup I've been loving - I used up all of my Tarte

concealer and I realized that, it's a great concealer because of the

ingredients, but it's just a stick and it's such a creamy formula that it lasts

like nothing. So I went budget-friendly and I got a whole pot of this NYX full

coverage concealer. So usually I'll take a q-tip and then put it on the back of

my hand. And this stuff is so buildable. If I'm not happy with one area I just

keep adding it on and it lasts all day. I was nervous about it because I don't

really like the idea of pot concealers. It's just, the chances of spreading

germs is high, whereas with a stick concealer I can just you know wipe it

with alcohol and then move on with my day. It's very effective.

For eyeshadow the new naked heat palette has been just

all-around really good for me and I made a tutorial about it where I did two

looks. I did a day look and a night look. And what I like to do, is because the

Urban Decay palette is kind of warm toned it's more of a burnt oranges and

reds - Naked 3 is a bit pinkish. And whenever I'm going for like a more

peachy or slightly cooler tone if I want to mix it up a little, I'll just pop in a

little bit of pink on top. I love to use the rose gold color trick

and I use that usually on the inner corners and then the remainder just on

the center of the eyelid. Easy! For mascara I am not picky about mascara. I

can use really any mascara. Right now I'm using the Urban Decay perversion it's

good, but it's smudgy because it's not waterproof. So then what I do is I found

this is the most amazing thing this is a NYX proof it. It's a clear coat

mascara and it turns any mascara that you put on into waterproof. It pretty

much just seals it in. I'm able to even put mascara on my lower lashes, and that

never happens. But thanks to this I can. Now on to fashion, but before we do that

since I have them here...I have these earrings and I've been wearing these a

lot especially with my little pony tail. I got them randomly at Aldo on sale,

with like a pack of other six earring that I'm not crazy about. For shoes, I

have been wearing these. And I thrifted these when I was in New York and they

took a bit to break in. They're just easy to put on, they go well with

everything. These are my summer go to shoes. And then for my Zara haul, that Zara sale,

I'm so glad that I kept this even though I saw it on reduced price

at Zara afterwards, but because it didn't come in my size I couldn't return it and

price adjust it. For skincare this month I used up all of my Innisfree green tea

cleansing oil, which was one of my favorites. A couple of months ago there's

this new one that I've been trying: purete thermale. In terms of texture how

it differs from the innisfree one, it's a

little runnier, but it it does its job perfectly. Now we're going to hop into

the shower. This was sent to me like months ago and it's so cool. You fill

out a quiz, selecting the types of hair types and hair concerns that you have,

and those generate a shampoo and conditioner. I've only opened the shampoo.

And then they send you a bottle with your name on it. It's a great gift idea

as well. Because of the amount of hair that I have, sometimes I have these areas

where even though I rinse as much as I can and I really pay attention to

rinsing there are just patches of hair that sometimes I just miss. You run your

fingers through your hair and you feel the greasiest patch because it's the

residual shampoo that didn't wash off and you're like ah! It smells amazing and

it's been able to rinse out all of my hair with no issue no residue and it

suds up nicely. My hyperpigmentation thanks to - hold on. The Banish acne scar

microneedling. My last video, you guys have to watch it. You guys have to see

the before and after it's crazy, insane! That of course is one of my favorites.

And these are the sheet masks of the month for me. And I love the brand for

beloved girl. So the ones that I've been loving right now are the oil control

mask, as well as the clouds silk brightening mask. If before the end of

the year I can stop wearing a full-face of foundation on top of concealer, and if

I can reach over 100k I would just be the happiest girl in the world. Am I

asking for too much? I don't know but I mean a girl can dream right? For geeky

stuff like Netflix, and tech stuff I actually made an order

on B&H recently, bought a ton of stuff. My friend recommended this book to me it's

called snot girl and here it's about a fashion blogger who has severe allergies.

It's so beautiful. I haven't been reading, I haven't been

finishing books even though I always say I love to. So this is a great like

transition to go back into reading, to go back into books because it's so easy to

digest. What have I been watching, I started watching Breaking Bad which I'm

not I'm not crazy about it, but I heard that it gets better in the

later seasons. Maybe it's because I'm such a comedy person. Movies that I

watched on Netflix i watch Okja, oh my god it fucked me up. Like I watched what

else, I watched Moonlight and I watched Okja,

and Moonlight is equally as beautiful, but I didn't cry in Moonlight surprisingly,

even though everybody says that you cry. In Okja I was crying from the beginning

to the end. It affected me to the point where I am really actively trying to cut

back on meat. I'm not trying to be vegetarian, but I'm really trying to

reduce my personal footprint as a human being. I think it's the Hufflepuff in me

which is why Okja affected me so deeply. And I'm through and through a

Hufflepuff. And you you have to watch it. I finally watched the last season of

Orange is the New Black which is also really good. and you know what I'm really

glad about I'm really glad that this season they didn't focus on Piper as

much and Piper is the most annoying character of all time. In TV usually I see

starring characters that maybe really irk me or that are generally just

written to be unlovable. The people that are supporting actors are normally

, they're oblivious to it. So like okay yeah you're a

terrible person but we don't know that. We think that you're so great. Like

Carrie Bradshaw. She was the worst character but her friends never called

her out on it. In orange is the new black even though Piper is just terrible

and super annoying, people actually call her out on it which is amazing and I'm

super happy that they do that which is why I can continue to watch the show

and not get mad all the time. Somebody recommended me to watch glow

last month so I watched glow, and I also watched friends from college which has

keegan-michael key and like a pretty big cast. I think I actually liked friends

from college more. I thought it was really funny. Glow is not really humor

but it's very inspiring. I really loved it anyways, it's not my favorite but

friends from college is definitely my favorite from this month. I am running

out of things to watch on Netflix and I need your help. So that's it for my July

favorites. I hope you guys really enjoyed this video I promise you guys that I'm

going to be doing a two week stint of a daily vlog so that I'm going to be

delivering on, so make sure you subscribe to this channel, follow me on social and

then you will find out everything that's going on. I will fill you in on all the

changes, some things that you guys aren't going to like maybe, based on the votes

that I've been getting but I really felt the need to do it anyways. Have a good

August. I will see you in the August favorites. Bye!

Why PRP Can Improve Neck Skin but Cannot Lift, and Options for Neck Rejuvenation - Duration: 7:42.

Thank you for your question.

You submitted a photo of your neck and you state that you're 36-years-old and you have

an area of what appears to be loose skin and you're asking if PRP will be helpful to

treat this area.

Well, I can certainly share with you the way I counsel patients who come in with very similar

situations as yours.

A little bit of background, I'm a Board-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial

plastic and reconstructive surgeon.

I have been in practice in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years.

And helping people with their neck in terms of rejuvenation through a multitude of options

is something that we do in our practice every day.

And especially significant is our use of PRP in our practice.

So, I'll help you understand what PRP can do and cannot do.

So to begin with, the choice of any type of intervention is based on a proper diagnosis.

And also understanding of course the limits of the tools you want to apply.

So we'll start first by getting a better understanding of what PRP is.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma.

Platelet-rich plasma is essentially a concentration from your own blood of the wound healing and

growth factors appropriate to stimulate collagen, to generate blood supply and have a lot of

different things that can do to help tissue essentially improve.

So when we use PRP in our practice, we use it for acne scars, we use it for wrinkles,

we use it for skin discolorations, under eye dark circles, we use in conjunction with Acellular

matrix for hair loss.

Now a lot of times, people feel or interpret PRP as being able to fill as well as to lift.

And in either situation, it's really about a perception.

Let's start with the filling part.

When you are trying to improve an area's appearance of volume, PRP can stimulate the

fat under the skin to blossom and increase in volume and that can look like a filler

but it's not going to be the same as an injectable filler.

As far as lifting is concerned, in an area, let's say over the cheekbone or in an area

where there is a layer of fat that can help be a cushion and may create some volume subtlety,

then it can lift.

Now in your situation, the diagnosis is probably not appropriate to use PRP as a standalone.

PRP can help the neck skin texture, it can help the neck skin quality.

But without a benefit of a physical examination, what it appears is you have a platysmal band

which is a muscle called the platysma and that band represents an attachment to the

skin.

And a lot of times, we can interpret this as a splitting of the muscle.

Sometimes it's really just about a localized or an area of atrophy which makes the muscle

more prominent.

And you are essentially dealing with a muscle that there are a variety of options which

can be used to address that muscle, everything from minimally invasive such the use of Botox®

to relax the muscle as well as moderately invasive or something like a suture suspension

procedure and more aggressive such as platysmaplasty and neck lifting surgery.

So, I think that is more appropriate based on the diagnosis.

Of course, an evaluation is not limited to the narrow area of the photograph of your

neck but a proper evaluation.

When I see my patients in my practice, I take pictures and I have them lift the different

areas and I show them and review their photos on the screen about what we can possibly do

based on what the issue is and then they decide with what they're comfortable with.

Sometimes, it's a stepwise approach.

Sometimes we do a little Botox® first, see how things look.

Then if that isn't as beneficial, we look at other options.

We look whether or not there's truly redundant skin or is there volume loss in the face.

And in that case, we can actually do something called structural volumizing to literally

expand the volume in the face, to help lift the neck but that's a different strategy

and it depends on your facial anatomy which we can't appreciate with the photo you submitted.

So I think that you will find that you will get a lot of opinions about what's best

for your neck.

And I think it's important that you get comfortable with the doctor that can guide

you in a way that hopefully you'll feel comfort with.

There are a lot of options and there are a lot of technologies that are being promoted.

And there's certainly no shortage of people that are ready to offer their best solution.

And I think certainly that majority of the time it's well-meaning but a lot of times,

it might miss the mark unless there's good communication between you and the doctor.

So meet with qualified, experienced cosmetic surgeons.

I think that would be the ideal specialist, a cosmetic surgeon, someone who is able to

do everything from minimally invasive to more advanced cosmetic surgery to give you an overview

based on experience as to what would be best for a 36-year-old woman who has this issue.

So I hope that was helpful, I wish you the best of luck and thank you for your question.

Earliest Intervention for Emerging ASD: Innovations in Caregiver-Mediated Approaches | Jessica Brian - Duration: 4:33.

I'm just going to set the stage for you.

This is a 3 month old baby,

his dad is holding him this way in his arm

and they're looking at each other in the face.

So the first thing that you may notice is

that this little three-month-old is looking quite intently at his father's face.

You may also notice that he's smiling.

So there's something about his father's face that he finds pleasing

and he's smiling to show that

We don't know from the picture, but I can tell you it's quite likely that his father is also smiling

It's very hard not to smile when your baby smiles at you,

so baby smiles have a lot of value for adults.

So let's imagine this scenario playing out in a over the next few seconds.

What may happen is

the baby's smile might start to fade a tiny bit.

Dad starts thinking, I enjoyed that smile -

how am I going to get it back?

I'll do something funny

Make a funny sound, make a funny face -

baby smiles again, dad gets rewarded,

this feels good,

I'm going to try it again.

Baby smiles again. So now there's this feedback loop or a sort of reciprocal interaction between Dad and baby

where they're enjoying each other's company, and they're having fun together

Now dad's been doing this for a couple of minutes.

He wants to take a quick break. - maybe breathe

And baby notices hey the game stopped.

How do I get this game going again?

So this is when babies might start to just lean in a bit lean forward

Laugh a little bit, open their eyes a bit wider to keep things going.

So that's sort of creating a social overture.

In the next few months of development this baby is going to learn much more

sophisticated ways to have to get game started

and to show that he wants games to continue.

So these are all developmental skills that emerge very early in life

within the first year of life and are

typically quite well developed by the time a baby is two years of age.

What we know from research is that all of these areas have

also been found to be areas of concern or

difficulty for babies who go on to develop autism spectrum disorder.

So what we see in these babies are sometimes

reduce

time spent looking at caregivers face,

reduced smiling, reduced social overtures or initiating interactions and

challenges of communication

So this brings us to the question if

we can identify these concerns very early in development

Is there anything we can do to help these kids develop?

This question motivated my team to develop a parent mediated intervention

for toddlers who are showing early signs of autism spectrum disorder

It takes on the developmental and behavioral perspective

and we really just work with caregivers

to find ways to enhance their babies communication and social affect.

I'll tell you very quickly about some results

we follow these babies and look at them over time at three time points.

We watch some playing with their caregiver

before we do any training.

We see them again 12 weeks later,

and then we see them again 12 weeks after that.

We've just completed a randomized control trial

where we taught one group of families the social ABCs intervention

and we followed controls over the same period of time

and what we're finding is if you look at the

blue lines you'll see that the families who receive the social ABCs

intervention training learn the techniques,

their babies responded to them at a high level and

they had increased initiations

or sort of social overtures with their parents.

We saw parents smiling more and we saw an association between

increased parents smiling and increase baby smiling and

increased time spent looking at caregivers faces

We spoke to the parents.

They didn't report increased stress from being involved in this intervention,

and they reported feeling self-efficacy,

empowerment and satisfaction with the program.

So really the take-home message for us is that we know that we can detect

risk for ASD very early in life and

this research shows that we can also

implement very low cost interventions low resource interventions

that have the potential to have

significant impacts for these kids very early in development

to set a foundation for their future ongoing development.

Thank you so much

Rhode Island Promise coming to CCRI for fall 2017 - Duration: 1:28.

Hello, I'm Meghan Hughes,

president of The Community College of Rhode Island.

Our college is so pleased that the historic expansion

of the Rhode Island Promise Program

will be moving forward this fall at CCRI.

This is exceptionally good news for our future students.

We believe every high school student in Rhode Island

deserves a chance to earn the degree or credential they need

to transfer to a four year school

or begin a high quality career

right here in Rhode Island.

We know that our students,

like so many community college students across the country,

face significant challenges.

CCRI is committed to removing the barriers

that prevent our students

from staying in school and graduating,

and we believe the Rhode Island Promise Scholarship

will make an immediate positive impact

on our students and our state.

So, why CCRI?

Our college educates more than 15,000 students every year.

We are the largest community college in New England

and the largest public higher education institution

in Rhode Island.

Our students are hard working, talented, and smart.

More than 95% of them are from right here in Rhode Island.

When they graduate, they live, work,

raise families, and pay taxes here.

So we know that an investment in our students

is a direct investment in the future of our state.

We thank Governor Raimondo, the legislative leadership,

and the dedicated members of our legislature

for making this investment.

We can't wait to show our state and the rest of the country

what happens next, thank you.

Setting up your midi instrument for recording - Duration: 1:33.

As a first step, you'll need to connect your MIDI instrument (say for example a keyboard

or an e-piano) via USB or via a MIDI cable with an audio interface.

Then, you start the FORTE program.

In the main menu "Options", select "MIDI In".

You'll find your MIDI instrument listed as "Default Recording Device".

Select your device and click "apply".

If your keyboard has a sound module of its own, you might like to set it up as the default

playback device.

As a result, the sound will be better and the recording of your music will be more precise.

In the tab "MIDI Out", you can select the default playback device.

If your midi device doesn't have a sound module of its own, we recommend you select

"VST Synth" as the default playback device.

This setting helps to reduce latency.

If you want your playback to always come from your midi instrument or from VST Synth, you

check the box "Always use default device".

Click "apply" to confirm your choice.

Living in Spain, Germany, France, Italy and Portugal - A Guide For Digital Nomads (2 of 3) - Duration: 9:06.

previously on dan teaches pretty basic

things about Europe to other North

Americans who probably don't know a lot

about Europe we talked about living in

Scandinavia including Denmark Sweden and

Norway and I did include Finland in that

but full disclosure turns out Finland is

not officially in Scandinavia we also

talked about Central Europe including

Poland the Czech Republic and Slovakia

and in this video we are going to

discuss France Spain Portugal and Italy

and one of my personal favorites Germany

so let's move to France now France is

going to vary a lot in cost-of-living

depending on where you choose to live

Paris obviously being the most expensive

now even in a city like Paris if you're

coming from North America things alcohol

is probably not very expensive relative

to you so certain things in France are

going to be very cheap like local you

know go buy a loaf of bread is still

going to be one euro something like that

wine is going to be very cheap things

like this I believe the subway in Paris

is a Euro forty so consider right now

when this movies videos being filmed

that roughly a year own a dollar are the

same they're like ten percent off but

it's not worth the calculation so US

dollar to Euro is about the same France

is going to have quite a mixed group so

if you are what I'm going to talk about

in this video is if you are a person of

color because there are certain parts of

York where you're very welcome but you

might stand out or feel uncomfortable or

something like that so France especially

Paris is not one of those places it's a

very diverse group of people from their

colonies and immigration and all this

stuff and a very international City

obviously so Paris I think is 20 million

people you're going to find people from

all over the rest of France I can only

assume because I've not visited involves

more drinking less work and likely more

wife-swapping with your neighbors as far

as I know

let's go from France and do Spain

Portugal and Italy and I'm grouping all

these together to offend everyone no

because they're the same other things

like coming in from North America right

they're all kind of the same people know

what I'm doing here is I'm grouping them

because from a expat point of view from

a digital Nomad point of view there are

a lot of similarities in terms of how

the cultures are there the Latin

cultures they tend to be a little more

laid-back very friendly you go to Spain

in the worst of the worst recession you

know economic turmoil and you go out and

there will still be people packed into

the bars enjoying themselves laughing

talking with friends even if there's a

30% unemployment rate the all these

groups but especially the Spanish love

to party they love to go out

there's a lot more of a family dynamic

in terms of people often live at home

until they move out like to get married

I mean of course when they move out so

don't let it home until they get married

Italians are famous for being Mama's

boys right we're there until they get

married someone cooks and cleans for

them their whole lives definitely I

guess good cultures in terms of like

slowing down

Francis Simler that is this as well but

slowing down eating and drinking like

taking your time having a two-hour lunch

slowing down a bit so if you're looking

to live somewhere where you can kind of

disconnect from the 50 hour or 60 hour

north american workweek maybe you're

trying to work on a more creative

project something like that these

countries would all be a great choice

and of course if we want to talk

sunshine especially in the south of

these countries you're going to get

pretty much a year-round sunshine in

most places which is definitely a plus

if you are new to Europe do not make the

mistake I did and assume all of these

countries are sunny so northern Italy

will be rainy and snowy in the winter as

can northern Spain B as well so don't

assume the entire countries are sunny

but they do have their year-round sunny

spots in terms of cost of living you'd

actually be very pleasantly surprised

it's going to vary a lot by city here

you know cities like Madrid Barcelona

Milan Rome are going to be significantly

like upwards of twice or more as

expensive as the rest of the countries

but in general they're very affordable

countries to live in and I'm talking

compared to a general North American

Standard fairly you had cheap places if

you go into a smaller town or anywhere

in Portugal even Lisbon it's going to

become even more affordable it might be

a surprise but you can live in a in a

decent sized Spanish city or some parts

of Italy or Portugal for cheaper than

any of these like third-world Asian

destinations that digital nomads seem to

be all about so that a lot of that like

cost of living is quite low you can go

and get a liter of wine at dinner for

seven eight dollars things like that

Coffee might be one euro that sort of

thing so can be very very affordable

places to live except is Germany I have

lived in Hamburg twice and in Berlin

once if you ask me Hamburg is the better

city but of course I'm in the minority

with that opinion Germany really

surprised me I came over to Germany and

to Hamburg it was my first place to live

in Europe after spending a few days at

Lisbon and I expected it to be kind of

boring but I went because my best friend

was moving there and I thought screw it

why not give it a shot it blew my mind

it was so much fun the Germans as much

as they apparently work hard although

they still work way less hours than

North Americans and take way more

holidays they play hard as well so in

Hamburg the bars and nightclubs are open

to 6:00 a.m.

there's 24-hour places I believe

drinking and public is legal in Germany

it was even legal on their

transportation system like their subway

until a couple years ago I think the

legal drinking age is 16 with beer and

wine 18 for hard alcohol but yet you

don't see fights you don't see too many

drunk people stumbling around it's

really an interesting thing where they

are as productive as North Americans in

terms of what they get done they but

they have whale at way more way less

strict laws around drinking and partying

and yet way fewer issues with drinking

with drunkenness with fighting all this

stuff there's a really interesting place

the people are going to be less openly

friendly in terms of like chitchat as in

North America

but part of that is culture part of that

is a language barrier if you're speaking

English but generally what I found is

when you do get to know them they're

pretty friendly people

they're definitely open to foreigners so

whether that is that you are someone of

color or just someone of pale whiteness

like me who's coming from another

country

I found Germans to be very open and

welcoming so it's fairly easy to make

friends so that was at least my

experience their cost of living might

surprise you as well as being fairly

cheap now rent is going to be higher and

it's going to vary by city in terms of

your transportation cost all that sort

of stuff but food I think is heavily

subsidized by the

so grocery stores are really cheap I

think some of the cheapest in the world

like for wine milk produce whatever

stuff is really cheap I've made the

point that if you're a homeless person

there is no better place on earth to

live than Germany because a can of beer

a half liter can a tallboy

cost fifty cents but the deposit on it

is 25 cents so if you're a can collector

you only need to collect three cans to

buy one beer that means in like 30

minutes you can have your days worth of

drinking and then go back to sleeping

which is pretty awesome so if you are

homeless and watching this Germany is

definitely your place to be and that

thing that's funny to me the heat almost

no the the drinking and the ratio with

the beer but it also says something

about the society where they have a

society that is very heavy on recycling

and personal responsibility

I remember my ex-girlfriend would look

at me weird when I complained about

having to walk four blocks to recycle

like brown glass or whatever and if you

didn't divide it up properly like green

glass here Brown glass here people would

look at you like you're just a bad

person you should get you should be a

good member of society so they have that

part of society and there's tons of more

examples I could get into on that of you

know responsibility recycling being

progressive taking and lots of

immigrants and on the same note beer is

50 cents and you can drink it anywhere

you want so pretty awesome place

actually to not underestimate how great

Germany is be sure to subscribe to the

channel because in the next video I'll

be covering the Baltics and the Balkans

and yes they are different areas
