Hi, My name is
A-U-D-R-E-I
Audrei and
Welcome to my channel CharisseAudrei. Today, I'm going to
do a
two
for book review and the first book is
Down the Rabbit Hole by Holly Madison this book is about
335 pages and it's a memoir. Holly used to be
Mr.. Hefner's
girlfriend the founder of Playboy and
she used to be and
the show Three Girls Next Door on E! I used to watch that show all the time.
I love
my favorite one was Kendra, and I read Kendra's memoir the second one last year and
I really wanted to get to
this one to see what it's all about because
Kendra and Holly have a little beef about it.
So I wanted to read it for myself and know more about Holly.
In the show you could tell that she was somewhat in a daze and loved Hef. I
Didn't know the backstories and reading this book I've learned a lot about
what went on in the Playboy Mansion.
When I was reading it it felt like, it felt like she wanted to be the "good girl",
and I know there's different sides to every story.
But when I was reading in this I felt like
Mr.. Hefner was
always being used by all these women to get at the top and
It felt like he didn't know who to trust, So
when it came to him and Holly's relationship it really is stuck out
the most and gave it really strained their relationship. The one thing about Holly a story is that she chose
to live at the Playboy Mansion and at anytime she could have
walked out and
left but she didn't. she talks about the Mean Girls
And how she dealt with them. It's a mansion full of girls
so I would think that it would be drama in the house,
But I am happy that she moved away from that
now, I like how Holly changed her last name to protect her family from
all the exposure, that bad things that Fame could do to a family she learned and became a
playmate editor
Playboy, and she really enjoyed the job. I like how she
found
something that she really liked to do at the Playboy. and
what Hef had an investigation to break down this an escort ring
out of the mansion, I mean you would figured that would happen, but it did and I'm happy that they
buckled down. Holly had been for been at that Playboy Mansion for a lot of years, and I'm happy that she
stepped out of that and
branch into her own thing. And I had one question for her, Why didn't she change
her hair to her original hair color then blonde? two: I wanted to
See like a reading less of books that she likes because she said that she enjoyed reading, and I would love to
have seen
that I rated this book a three stars
and I really wanted to continue on with her second memoir and see
If I get to know her a little bit more because this book was mainly
focusing on
her going down the rabbit hole of living in the Playboy Mansion and
Trying to get out of it. The second book I'm going to talk about is
Stolen. Is a YA.
299 pages. If you like "You".
You're gonna like this, but "You" is in the perspective of
the stalker talking to you, but this is in the perspective of the
victim and
on the back it says" written as a letter from a
Victim to her capture" it doesn't have any chapters because it's a letter.
And so if you're
someone like me that likes to look to see how many pages until the chapter is left. You're not gonna get that.
They do have in the book little little dents. Like this and that's how I stopped when I got to a certain point that
I wanted to pause. Gemma was
kidnapped from an airport and
we see throughout the book that
this guy Ty has been planning this for years and
been following her for years. In this book has some animal cruelty in it
some sorts, so if you're a little cringy about that then there's a warning for you.
There was a scene in here that just made me it
it was a little disgusting but
It happened in the book. What I like about the character of Gemma is that as soon as she realized that she was kidnapped that
she
needed to always think and to escape and to never stop
And if she knew if she stopped planning to try to escape that she would never
escape. She's really motivated and
escaping
and getting out. If you don't like snakes scene in here with snakes some of you don't like snakes
there's a warning. For the cover. I don't think this is a butterfly
I think as a moth
Because some moths can look like butterflies, and I searched up the spiritual meaning of moth. It says:
"Receiving good news and healing and seeing positive in
any situation" and I think once she once you see the moth scene
things change in the story, and I like how I as a reader
Because I'm very spiritual. Once I searched that up. I saw how the story started changing,
Changing for the better for Gemma. The word that people
call this book that she gets kidnapped and she gets Stockholm Syndrome and
That is one reasons why she wrote him a letter.
Getting everything out on a paper and learning to let go I like how that message of the book .I
Rated this a four stars. I just felt like there was something missing, but yet again. I know it was a letter
to the capture from
Gemma and it's her story and what she wants to say and what she
Wants to tell her capture
So both the books. I read it was great Down the Rabbit Hole. I read it in November for a Nonfiction November.
I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to walk read Holly Madison second memoir. For Lucy Christopher I
Want to read up on more of her
books because I really enjoyed this and I think you guys will enjoy this too. I think it's good for a read-a-thon.
That is it for my two for a book review.
I hope you guys have a nice day and keep reading.
I hope you guys like and subscribe and follow
Me on all my social medias because I'm active on there and I'll see you guys later. Bye.
