Tests for a World Record Beer Crate Bridge by CraTeX - Duration: 2:22.

My name is Jurre, I'm responsible for the design of the Crate Bridge.

A Crate Bridge purely consists of beer crates. No glue, no ductape, no tie-wraps.

Today we are going to test the limits of a beer crate.

We going to perform 3 kinds of tests...

2 pressure tests and 1 shear test.

The first pressure test is simply carried out by putting two crates on top of each other...

and compressing them until failure.

The second pressure test:

The crates are placed in a different formation...

which is according to us, the weakest formation the crates in the bridge will have.

The third and final situation which is going to be tested is shear stress...

to find out how the crates will react on this type of stress.

I'm Thijs Schuiling, I'm in the board of ConcepT...

which is the study association of Civil Engeneering at the University of Twente.

Our goal is to break the World Record of longest Crate Bridge in November.

Currently the record is more than 26,5 metres, almost 27 metres.

We want to go past 27 metres, with a record between 27 and 30 metres.

For such a big project, we need a lot of materials, and we are looking for companies which can support us.

This support results in name awareness among students.

Today we have tested the limits of a beer crate, concerning shear and load stresses.

With these test results we can continue designing the final version of our Crate Bridge.

Caption Your Videos for Accessibility - Webinar - Duration: 27:09.

Welcome and thank you for joining me today. My name is Sarah and I'm the

Emerging Technologies Librarian here at Benedictine. Today's workshop is all

about DIY or Do It Yourself captioning. I'm going to walk us through two ways to

generate captions using a tool that most of us are already familiar with: YouTube.

Alright, let's get started. Before we jump into creating our

captions let's go over some terminology. Open captions are captions that are

always in view. They're part of the video file, so the viewer cannot turn them off.

They're easy for the user to use, but they can look blurry when the video gets

compressed, and the caption text cannot be indexed. Closed captions on the other

hand live in a file of their own, separate from the video. That way the

viewer can turn them on and off. You can also save them on a computer and upload

them to any video platform that supports captioning, such as D2L Capture Portal.

This is the kind of captions that we will be making today in YouTube. We'll

also be making a transcript. A transcript contains the caption content in a

separate document, minus the timing information. Usually you'll see it in a

text file or a PDF. Both DIY captioning workflows we'll be exploring today

center on YouTube. YouTube is free, it's easy, and familiar. With a free YouTube

account, you can auto-generate rough captions, transcribe your video

manually, auto sync your transcription to your video, and download your caption

file, all without publicly sharing your video if you want to keep it private.

There is one catch: captioning requires time. But I do find the more you do it

the faster you get at it. And there are some steps you can take to save time,

which I'll be showing you as we go along.

Here is the first DIY captioning workflow. There are

six steps: Record your video and upload it to the video platform where you plan

to host your video, such as D2L Capture Central. Then upload a copy to YouTube as

a private video. From there, transcribe it, sync it,

export the caption file, and then take that caption file and import it into

the video platform where your video will live. The first step is to actually

record your video. There are many tools available

There's D2L Capture, which is available for BenU faculty and staff. There are

also free tools, such as Screencast-O-Matic, which is a

browser-based recording tool where you can record up to 15 minutes at a time

for free. There are also some paid options, such as Camtasia which some of

you might have access to. Also, I just would like to mention that the BenU

Library has several webcams available for checkout at the Lisle Circulation

Desk. I won't go into detail on these recording options since our focus today

is on post-production, but if you have questions about recording software and

hardware, feel free to reach out to me. I'm going to use D2L Capture in my

examples today. When you record and publish using D2L Capture, your video is

loaded directly into your Capture Portal in D2L I've already done this so let's

head over to my Capture Central Portal.

Okay. So once I'm inside D2L, I'll go up here and click Capture Central. From here

I'll go to Presentations. All of my recordings will end up right here.

I can also upload videos that I record using other tools such as such as

Camtasia or even my video camera on my smart phone. I could take those videos

and click this blue button and upload them to Capture Central inside D2L.

So I'm going to go ahead and click the name of the video and choose Edit

Presentation in Post-Production Tool. Video platforms like D2L Capture or

Vimeo YouTube, Kaltura, and Panopto offer a mechanism for adding captions or a

caption file. Here, if you click the Closed Captions tab, you can add captions

manually. So if I were to type in some text right there and press enter you can

see it shows up in my list of captions and also shows up on the video itself. If

you've tried this feature, you probably know that getting the timings right is

challenging and a bit time-consuming. You can also upload a caption file by

clicking this little document icon and selecting the file from your computer.

But first you need to make that file and that's what we're going to do in YouTube.

Creating a caption file in YouTube is much easier than using some other tools.

If you already have the video file on your computer, you're ready to go. You can

upload that video from your computer or device straight into YouTube. If you

don't have a copy on your local machine and you just have it in your hosting

platform, such as D2L Capture Central, you can download a copy first.

We're going to go ahead and do that now. I'm going to close out of this tab and go back

to Capture Central so I can show you the steps as if you're first getting to

Capture Central for the first time. So once you get to the page, you'll click

Presentations, select your video, and go to Transcoding Status. From here I can

get copies of my videos. I'll choose the first one. I'm going to right click

it. Just like I was saving an image from the web to my computer, I would go to

Save Video As, and I'm going to save it in a folder where I will remember where

it is and click Save. Okay, so now I have all the components I

need to move on to YouTube. So let's go ahead open a new tab and go to YouTube.

Okay, so I've already signed in, so I am ready to upload. To upload, I'm going to

click this little upward pointing arrow in the upper right corner. Next, I'm going

to change the status from Public to Private and upload my video. Here it is.

Click Open and it's starting the upload process. While we're waiting for the

video to upload, it's worth noting that for those of you who want to share your

videos publicly, Discovery Digital Networks conducted a study in 2013 and

2014 that found an overall increase of more than 7 percent in views for

captioned videos. Okay, it's almost there. Notice I'm not going to add a title or a

description because I'm going to keep this video private. So I just plan to

create my caption file and then I'll probably delete the video after this. Okay

it's finished, so I'm going to go head straight to my Video Manager. Once I'm in

the Video Manager I can see all of my videos. So here's the one that I just

added. I'll click Edit and now I'm at the main editing portal for YouTube, but I'm

only interested today in Subtitles Closed Captions. Let's go ahead and click

that. It'll automatically ask you to select the language for your video so I

will go ahead and do that. And now I'm ready to add some new subtitles or

closed captions. I'll choose English and I can see the

three different options I have. Now the first option is to upload a file. This is

very helpful if you have already written a script for your video.

If you have, you can simply upload the file. This is the most efficient option.

if you don't have a script choosing Transcribe and Auto-sync is

your next best option. We have the video itself on the left the transcription box

on the right. You can resize that box if you'd like to. And you also have this

check box here: Pause Video While Typing. You'll want to keep that checked most of

the time. This is a very helpful feature. Watch' as I type a few sentences. Notice

that as I type the video automatically pauses, allowing me to catch up.

"Welcome everyone and thank you for joining me today.

[typing]

"My name is Sarah Kurpiel

[typing]

"and I'm the Emerging Technologies Librarian

[typing]

"here at BenU."

[typing]

So as I was typing the video was automatically pausing. At the

end of those few sentences that I typed, I then pressed Shift and the space bar

to pause the video. So there are a few keyboard shortcuts that are helpful and

they're the ones that are also provided via a button at the bottom, so if you

hover over these buttons, it'll give you the keyboard shortcut, and over time

those shortcuts will become more second nature if you use this frequently enough.

So to play or pause you press Shift and the space bar. To go back a second you

press Shift plus the left arrow. And you can press that multiple times to rewind

further. You can also slow down the video or even speed it up depending on your

typing pace.

A few best practices: First, you should transcribe your video

verbatim. However, you can omit ums and uhs. Second, spell out words instead of

symbols. So for example, instead of a slash to indicate division write out "divided by."

Third, avoid abbreviations. Something like S T period could mean saint or street to a

screenreader. Third, identify speakers when it's not

clear who is speaking. Typically you'll see the format of a double chevron or

two greater than symbols followed by a name and a colon in all caps. So if I

were making it clear that I'm the narrator of this video, I would add two

greater than symbols, space, my name in all capitals, colon, space. Now sometimes

you might see this in other formats as well, such as in square brackets. Also,

enclose descriptions of relevant sounds in brackets. So if there were birds

chirping in the background, for example, and you wanted to make sure that that

information was conveyed through your captions,

you could simply type in "birds chirping in the background." Okay.

And there you go. And finally, it's a best practice to get into the routine of

verbally describing key visual information as you speak. This helps

people who are blind or who have otherwise limited vision. For example,

if you show a chart, describe that chart. That way you don't need to provide audio

descriptions. Once you have finished a portion of your video transcript, even if

you're not done, you can click Exit. YouTube will automatically save a draft

of your captions. Alright. I'm going to go back in.

I have already finished a transcription for this video, so I'm going to go ahead and

paste that in now and press Set Timings. The Set Timings feature, or Auto Sync

feature, is what makes YouTube such a good free captioning option. Even though

the process of transcribing your video can take five times as long as the video

itself, the syncing process saves you time. While we wait for YouTube to set

those timings, I'll also mention that if you plan to load videos publicly in

YouTube, your transcriptions are indexed in the YouTube search, so they become

more findable. Just one more reason why captioning your videos is beneficial.

Okay, let's go in and see if our captions are ready. And they are. As I play the

video, you'll notice that the audio and the video sync up nearly perfectly.

"Welcome everyone and thank you for joining me today. My name is Sarah Kurpiel

"and I'm the Emerging Technologies Librarian here at BenU. Today I'm

going to demonstrate a few easy." It's another best practice to have no

more than three lines of captions on the screen. YouTube does this automatically.

So just a few minor tweaks and I'm ready to go. Click Save Changes to publish your

captions. Now that they're published, I'm ready to go back in and now I have all

the pieces prepared I'm going to start downloading some files. The first file

I'm going to download by clicking Actions is the Original Format. The

Original Format is just a simple transcript. The Web Content Accessibility

Guidelines recommend providing a downloadable transcript with the video so

that viewers have an alternate format.

The next file I'm going to download is the SRT file. I recommend using SRT, also

called SubRip. The SubRip format is supported by most video players and

subtitle caption programs. So let's go ahead and choose that option. I have it

set to open automatically in Notepad. So you can see the captioning text as well

as the start time and end time of each set of captions. I'm going to save this on my

computer. In this case I'm going to save it in my Documents folder and Save. I'll go

ahead and close. Alright, we're ready to return to Capture Central. So I'm going

to go back to some of my browsers. I'm going to close a few of those. Okay, so I'm

back at my D2L home page. I'll go to Capture Central, Presentations, choose

the title of the video, and finally click Edit Presentation in

Post-Production Tool. Now when I go over to the Closed Captions tab, instead of

adding manually my captions, I'm going to click the Upload File option. I'll find

my file that I saved to my computer and right away I can see a list of all of my

captions and timing information listed here. Now as I play the video you'll see

that the captions appear very similar to the way they appeared in YouTube. "Welcome

"everyone and thank you for joining me today. My name is Sarah Kurpiel and I'm

"the Emerging Technologies Librarian here at BenU." Now when you share your video in

D2L it will be captioned. I mentioned I was going to walk through two workflows.

Actually the second one is just a slight modification of the first. Instead of

transcribing the video manually, we will use YouTube's automatic captions.

Automatic captions can be of poor quality.

But YouTube's speech recognition technology has improved. As of March,

YouTube can even detect a certain sound effects, including music, applause, and

laughter. If YouTube can interpret your voice, it can save you time, so I would

recommend checking it out and seeing if YouTube can read your voice okay. I've

already uploaded a second video to YouTube. I did this in advance and I'll

tell you why in a moment. Let's head over to YouTube. Okay so I'm

back at my account. I'm going to go to my Creator Studio. So this is the second

video I uploaded: "Embedding Films On Demand Videos." Go ahead and click this,

click Edit, go over to my Subtitles Closed Captions and you'll notice I have

here automatic captions. So the reason I uploaded my video in advance of this

presentation was to make sure that I gave YouTube enough time to generate the

automatic captions. If you're working with a very short video, it can create

those automatic captions fairly quickly. If you have a lengthier video it

can take a few hours. Okay, so let's go ahead and click English

(Automatic) to open those automatic captions. You can kind of see they're

grayed out because you can't edit the automatic captions right away. To do that,

you're going to go up here and click Edit. For me, YouTube's speech recognition

works fairly well, so I'm going to go ahead and play a little the video and show you

what mine looks like: "films on demand contains thousands of educational and

"archival videos to directly embed a film's on demand video." Okay, so as you

can see, my main problem with my video here is a lack of capitalization and

punctuation. It gets most of my words right. After I click to Edit, I can go in

and make changes to these captions. Before I get started, I recommend using

the keyboard shortcuts. There are quite a few here that you could use. I mostly use

the Shift and space bar to pause the video and the Shift and down key so that I can

move on to the next subtitle quickly. So I'm going to go ahead and edit those first

two to kind of show you how I would do that and you can watch on the video any

changes I make to the captions on the left automatically start appearing on

the right. So let's go ahead and do that.

[editing a few lines of captions]

Okay so say I had gone through this entire video and cleaned up all of the

captions, added some punctuation, I capitalized, fixed a few words that were

incorrect. Then I would go ahead and click Save Changes and as you'll see you

still have your automatic captions. You can't really change those. Those are

what they are, but we also have the ones that we just published. We're now ready

to start downloading our files once again. So let's go in here and take a

look at those captions. I'm going to download the caption file, again that

SubRip file or SRT.

Again, as you can see, we have this caption information as well as a start

time, end time. This is the file that you would then save on your computer and go

over to D2L Capture Central and load it into your video. You can also do the same

thing if you're working with a different video platform, like Kaltura or Vimeo.

Let's go ahead and close that. The only issue that you will have with this

option is that there isn't a transcript file. So last time I was able to click

Actions and go to Original Format, but if I do that this time, because I didn't

have a transcript to begin with, it's including timing information. Now maybe

if you have a short video it would be easy to just go in and cut out all of

this numeric information with the start times and end times, but if you have a

longer video this can be kind of a pain. So I'm going to show you how you can get

around this. It's a bit of a workaround. It's a little bit of a trick

actually, but I find it quite useful. Okay, so what we're going to do is download that

captions file. Let's go ahead and do that one more time. Okay so it's just like I

had before. I'm going to save this on my computer. I'm going to do it again in my

Documents folder, Save, go ahead and close this. Then I'm going to return to

Subtitles Closed Captions and pretend like I'm adding

brand new captions. Okay so I'm going to click English, discard the published

subtitles, and then I'm going to upload a file. I'll leave it on Transcript. I'll

choose the file, in this case it was "captions 6," go ahead and open

that and upload. Here's the trick: in the bottom left column, it recommends trying

to transcribe and set timings because it's a little bit faster. We're going to go

ahead and click that. It'll ask you if you wanted to discard all your timing

information and you do, so just go ahead and discard that. Alright so this

provides you with a text-only version of your video transcript. This can be really

helpful, save you a lot of time if you have a lengthy video as I said but

it can also be useful if you prefer using this method of doing your

transcripts. So if you just wanted to be able to play your video and as you add

corrections the video will automatically pause, it will do that, so this is sort of

the middle ground between the first workflow I showed you and the second

workflow. I personally like to use this myself. At least to be able to get your

transcript information, this is a little bit of a trick that you could use to get

that information without having to manually delete all that timing

information individually from your caption file. So these two DIY workflows,

transcribing manually and using automatic captions as the foundation, are

both good free options. It's all a matter of finding what's right for you: your

typing pace, your speaking style, your voice. As I said before, there's no real

free shortcut when it comes to captioning. Unless you have a paid

service, it does take a bit of work, but it's important to do. If you're here

today you probably already have a good idea of why captioning is important, but

I will conclude by briefly touching on a few reasons. First the US Department of

Education reports that 11 percent of undergraduates report having

a disability. As a result many post-secondary institutions are working

to offer equivalent access to information technology to their students.

Also, a mix of federal and state laws require captions. Some laws apply to

federal or state institutions, some apply to institutions that receive federal

funding, and some have been interpreted in the court system as applying to

private institutions as well. Despite some confusion and debate over

which laws apply to which types of institutions, the intention is clear:

make your technology accessible. In the process of captioning your videos for

people who are deaf or hard of hearing, you're also helping English language

learners, people with learning and cognitive disabilities, people in very

quiet or very noisy spaces and intersections of these conditions and

environments. By captioning, you're designing for all people instead of the

average user, which is the cornerstone of Universal Design. The goal of Universal

Design is to create environments and services that can be used to the

greatest extent possible, by the greatest number of people possible, regardless of

their ability or background. Here we have the seven principles of Universal Design:

equitable use, flexibility in use, simple and intuitive, perceptible

information, tolerance for error, low physical effort, and size and space for

approach and use. Those who apply a Universal Design approach tend to exceed

legal requirements because Universal Design places high value on diversity,

equality and inclusiveness. I hope that you find this workflow useful. Thank you

Drug Combinations for Safer, More Balanced Anesthesia - Duration: 2:03.

Drug combinations that I like—to provide safer and more balanced

anesthesia—I think the safe part is what you're comfortable with,

and then utilizing lower doses, a variety of drugs, and different techniques is the

definition of balanced anesthesia. So, we want to focus on that. I'm a huge

fan of dexmedetomidine because when we're talking about anesthetic drugs, we

want to use things that we can control. So, a drug like dexmedetomidine is the

ultimate drug in that sense because

you can see effects based on dose. If you are looking for a lot of sedation or

anesthesia, you use a higher dose. If you're looking for anxiolysis, you would

use a lower dose. If you are not afraid of side effects, you can go higher. If you

want to minimize those side effects, you go lower. And if you don't like what you

see, you can reverse it. And that makes it you have the

ultimate control over that drug. So, I like to utilize dexmedetomidine

whenever possible because not only does it provide sedation and anxiolysis, but it

also provides analgesia which is unlike any other sedative. So, utilizing, even now

that opioids are kind of not as readily available, but drugs like butorphanol are—

butorphanol is only a mild analgesic, but if we couple it with

dexmedetomidine, we're providing a different level of analgesia and really

good sedation, and so that combination is relatively safe and well tolerated by

most patients. And so, I would prefer a pure mu agonist opioid like hydromorphone, but

because not everybody can get their hands on that something like butorphanol

and dexmedetomidine would be a decent choice, as well.

The Nets' interest is for the Magic's other free agent - Daily News - Duration: 4:09.

The Nets need another athletic big, and some great young ones are hitting restricted free agency, GM Sean Marks' weapon of choice

But fans already penciling Aaron Gordon or Clint Capela into the lineup may be disappointed

After Marks handed Otto Porter Jr., Tyler Johnson and Allen Crabbe huge offer sheets over the past two offseasons, many Brooklyn fans are expecting him to go big in an RFA market that includes Orlando's Gordon, Houston's Capela, the Lakers' Julius Randle and Milwaukee's Jabari Parker

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith stirred the pot Wednesday by speculating that Brooklyn might throw a huge offer sheet at Randle or Capela

But don't bet on Gordon or Capela, or Brooklyn breaking the bank for anybody.  The Nets' top priority is protecting their trove of salary-cap space for the summer of 2019, when they could have enough room for two max deals

They think they have Capela-lite in Jarrett Allen, who molds his game after the Rockets star

And while they may have interest in Randle, he'd require a move to clear cap space (like dealing DeMarre Carroll or Jeremy Lin)

Brooklyn wants to maintain flexibility while Gordon wants to stay in Orlando, preferring to not even get to the point of talking to other teams in the free agency dog-and-pony show

"Hopefully not. Hopefully we just get in wrapped up with Orlando. That would be fantastic," Gordon, 22, said Tuesday night on the red carpet for the premier of "Uncle Drew" at Lincoln Center

"Yeah, that would be great. That'd be great."  The Magic tendered Gordon a qualifying offer on Tuesday, and president of basketball operations Jeff Weltman told the Orlando Sentinel he didn't think they'll have to "recruit" Gordon because of the relationship they've already developed

By the sound of Gordon on Tuesday, Weltman was right.  Once the Nets complete a buyout with Dwight Howard — assuming he leaves about $8 million on the table to bolt Brooklyn — they could have up to $12 million to spend

They may not even spend that, eyeing cheaper players and holding cap space into the season

The Lakers' pursuit of LeBron James and Paul George could leave Randle obtainable, although he also could end up in a deal for Kawhi Leonard

Meanwhile, Gordon stated he wants a max contract and said Tuesday he felt he'll get one

"Definitely," Gordon said. "But we'll see how it goes; whatever Orlando wants to do

As a restricted free agent, I have complete trust in the regime. So it's going to go how it's going to go

"  Brooklyn definitely has interest in Gordon's teammate, Mario Hezonja, 23. That's the kind of neighborhood they're shopping in

Hezonja hasn't lived up to his billing as the No. 5 pick in 2015, but the Nets have liked him for some time and are known to do the reclamation-project thing

After acquiring the No. 2 (D'Angelo Russell) and No. 3 (Jahlil Okafor) picks in that same draft, and the No

8 pick from 2014 (Nik Stauskas), Hezonja could be the latest roll of the dice.  After Orlando declined to pick up Hezonja's fourth-year option, he finally started showing signs of tapping into his potential

He averaged a career-high 9.6 points last season, but bumped that to 14.0 points on

371 percent from deep in 30 starts. At 6-8, 215 pounds, he can play anywhere from the two through four, but started taking advantage of mismatches as a smallball four

Mike Huckabee Called Racist For Picture He Posted Criticizing Pelosi, His Response Is Legendary - Duration: 15:00.

Mike Huckabee Called Racist For Picture He Posted Criticizing Pelosi, His Response Is

Legendary

Mike Huckabee is a popular conservative figure who is not afraid to say what he means and

mean what he says. He also apparently has a sense of humor and is not afraid to use

his humor to call out folks for their idiocy or ruffle feathers when he does so.

Huckabee took to Twitter to troll House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi with a photo of MS-13

gang members calling them Pelosi's "campaign committee" in a tweet on Saturday. Naturally,

Twitter exploded as the left came out of their safe spaces to screech and cry about Huckabee's

supposed "racism."

Huckabee is not known for pulling punches or sugar coating anything. With faith-based

sensibility and a genuine affection for facts, Huckabee was once named one of America's

five best governors by Time Magazine nearly a decade ago. The magazine noted that the

Republican governor of Arkansas was "a mature, consensus-building conservative who earns

praise from fellow Evangelicals and, occasionally, liberal Democrats."

He is a former presidential candidate, Christian minister, author, and commentator who served

as the 44th governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007. He is also the father of current

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

As the leftist progressive, self-appointed PC police attempted to meltdown the internet

with their faux outrage with cries of racism, Huckabee asked the obvious question – "Wasn't

aware that criminal was a 'race'" when he called out the Washington Post's Karen

Tumulty after she attempted to draw a correlation between Huckabee's obvious satirical poke

at Pelosi and his tweet calling out the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia for asking his

daughter to leave the premises.

Tumulty tweeted a picture of Huckabee's MS-13 tweet juxtaposed with one in which the

former Arkansas governor accused the Red Hen's ownership of bigotry for turning away his

daughter, Sarah Sanders, because of her job working with President Trump.

He replied – Yes @ktumulty because MS-13 is not a race but an illegal gang who rapes,

murders, and mutilates children as sport. Nancy Pelosi defended them because she said

@realDonaldTrump insulted them. Are you defending them too? Wasn't aware that criminal was

a "race." Huckabee's tweet comes after Pelosi attempted to defend brutal and murderous

MS-13 after President Donald Trump referred to MS-13 as "animals" during a May 16

roundtable discussion on sanctuary cities.

As the Daily Wire reports – "The media and the Democrats lied about Trump's remarks

and claimed that he was referring to all illegal immigrants when it was clear he was referring

to MS-13.

Pelosi then gave a press conference where she continued to spread that lie, and she

indirectly defended MS-13, saying, "And so when the president of the United States

says about undocumented immigrants, 'These aren't people, these are animals,' you

have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of

every person?"

Immediately after twisting Trump's comments, Pelosi left the press conference without taking

any questions from the press.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) followed up Pelosi's remarks by releasing a brutal

campaign ad against the Democrats, saying: 'Democrats' Midterm Message: MS-13 Killers…They're

Not So Bad.'" Makes sense. Nancy Pelosi recently defended MS-13 while trying to go

after President Trump. Nothing wrong about this picture, right? Nope! Not according to

the left! Droves of lefty loonies reported Huckabee for racism and widely criticized

Huckabee for the tweet, it was also liked by more than 15,000 Twitter users and retweeted

over 6,400 times as of Saturday afternoon. While these "delicate flowers" report

Huckabee for racism, the FBI reports that MS-13 gang members "are known to engage

a wide range of criminal activity, including drug distribution, m****r, r**e, prostitution,

robbery, home invasions, immigration offenses, kidnapping, carjackings/auto thefts, and vandalism.

Most of these crimes, you'll notice, have one thing in common—they are exceedingly

violent. And while most of the violence is directed toward other MS-13 members or rival

street gangs, innocent citizens often get caught in the crossfire."

tax cut enacted six months ago was a step toward compromising Social Security and Medicare,

during a news conference on Capitol Hill, in Washington, June 20, 2018.

MS-13 is an international criminal gang that was formed by El Salvadoran refugees in Los

Angeles during the 1980s and has since spread throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico

and Central America. The gang is known to be comprised of mostly Salvadoran nationals

or first generation Salvadoran-Americans, but also Hondurans, Guatemalans, Mexicans,

and other Central and South American immigrants.

Many Americans have fallen victim to MS-13's own special brand of brutality, victims like

Elizabeth Alvarado, Robert Mickens, Evelyn Rodriguez, and Freddy Cuevas, the parents

of Nisa Mickens and Kayla Cuevas. Victims like Mickens and Cuevas were young girls police

believe were chased down and brutally murdered by MS-13 gang members on Long Island, New

York, in 2016. Suffolk County Police Commissioner stated that the "murders show a level of

brutality that is close to unmatched."

The White House reports that nearly 40 percent of all murders in Suffolk County, New York

between January 2016 and June 2017 were tied to MS-13.

In January 2017, MS-13 members were charged with k*****g and hacking up a teenager in

Nassau County. MS-13's animals reportedly saw the m****r as a way to boost their standing

in the gang. In April 2017, police believe four young men were brutally murdered by MS-13

animals on Long Island. One victim was a young man in town visiting family during an Easter

week vacation. Just last month, in April 2018, MS-13 reportedly called for its members on

Long Island to k**l a cop for the sake of making a statement.

MS-13 violence and m****r is not confined to New York either. In Maryland, MS-13's

animals are accused of stabbing a man more than 100 times and then decapitating him,

dismembering him, and ripping his heart out of his body. Police believe MS-13 members

in Maryland also savagely beat a 15-year-old human trafficking victim. The MS-13 animals

used a bat and took turns beating her nearly 30 times in total.

In Houston, Texas, two MS-13 members were charged after the kidnapping and sexual assault

one girl and murdering another. The two MS-13 animals laughed, smiled, and waved for cameras

in court as they faced the charges.

While the current Trump administration is working to bring these murderous thugs to

justice, the left is defending them, crying racism if men such as Huckabee dare speak

up about their vile and violent behavior. It seems we are witnessing the beginnings

of what is occurring currently across Europe.

Russia map: Where is Kaliningrad? Is it safe for England fans? - Duration: 2:32.

Both England and Belgium are guaranteed a place in the final 16 of the World Cup, but they will still play each other at the Kaliningrad Stadium, in Kaliningrad, at 7pm BST on Thursday

Lucky fans who have a ticket will have not be travelling to Russian mainland to watch the match though

Where is Kaliningrad?  Kalingrad is a Russian exclave, a piece of land which is politically attached to a larger piece but not physically

The Kaliningrad Oblast (region) is sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania on the Baltic Sea and is closer to the Danish capital of Copenhagen than it is to Russia

The city was founded by Teutonic knights in the 13th century and its original German name was Konigsberg

Soviet trooped annexed the territory in 1945 and remained it Kaliningrad after Mikhail Kalinin, a high-ranking Bolshevik revolutionary

Josef Stalin, who was Soviet leader at the time, used the city's port, as it was able to stay open through the winter, unlike many freezing ports in outer Siberia

EPA After Lithuania joined the EU, travelling between Kaliningrad and Russia without crossing the territory of an EU state is now impossible

Is it safe for England fans?  The European Union Institute for Security Studies (EUISS) is the Union's agency dealing with the analysis of foreign, security and defence policy issues

The agency admitted: "Kaliningrad is notorious for the immense problems it has to deal with

GOOGLEMAPS  "Kaliningrad's officials have to deal with the highest percentage of HIV infections in Europe and with an intimidating scale of organised crime

"Large outdated industries face structural collapse, resulting in high unemployment rates

One third of Kaliningrad's one million inhabitants live below the poverty level." However, it has been suggested by analysts that Putin is using the World Cup to portray Kaliningrad in a more positive light

Zachary Witlin, an analyst at the Eurasia Group, said: "Being able to invite World Cup fans to see the city and to welcome guests is a rare chance to associate the city with something positive in the international media

Cheap Guitar Amp Simulation for Quiet Practice – Behringer UM2 and Cakewalk TH3 - Duration: 6:43.

Hey guys, in this video we're going to take a look at the cheapest way to quietly practice

electric guitar, while using amp simulation.

This setup we're using requires only minimal equipment that can be purchased relatively

cheap, and the software is completely free to download and use, with only minor restrictions

for the demo version.

This is great for people who need a quiet way to practice their guitar, whether you're

playing in the middle of the night or in an apartment building, without having to buy

expensive software or hardware amp simulation.

Before we start, here are a few clips of the simulated amp sound we'll be able to get

by the end of this video.

The

first thing we need to do is go over what we need to make this work.

Obviously, you'll need a guitar, instrument cable, and a set of headphones to listen on.

Then, you'll need an audio interface.

If you already have one, then you don't need to buy anything.

Otherwise, I'll be covering how to do this on a Behringer U-PHORIA UM2, which is a simple

2 input USB audio interface that I got for around $30.

If you want to purchase one of those to do this on your own, check out the link in the

video description down below.

For our software, we'll be using Cakewalk by BandLab to process the signal in real time.

This allows us to control our inputs and outputs with the UM2, and it provides real-time processing

of the signal.

This is free software, and I'll link it down below in the video description.

If you need more detail on how to use this program than I provide in this video, check

out my series on how to use it.

Before starting up the software, we need to install a driver for the Behringer UM2 interface.

There are no specific drivers for this interface, and we're just using ASIO4ALL and we'll

further configure it through Cakewalk's preferences menu.

Once it's installed, just launch Cakewalk and create an empty new project.

To configure the audio interface, go to the Edit menu at the top and select Preferences.

Start under Audio and go to Playback and Recording.

We need to switch the Driver Mode to ASIO.

Then, go to Driver Settings and press the button to open the ASIO Panel.

This is the configuration menu for the ASIO4ALL driver.

With this open, we click the button on the left to select the generic usb interface,

which is the Behringer UM2.

If you're unable to select this because it doesn't appear or the inputs are in use,

try closing other programs besides Cakewalk, or reboot your computer.

Finally, go to Devices and make sure all the ASIO4ALL options are checked off.

This is the section we use to actually choose our device if we have multiple audio interfaces

plugged in.

Now we can start setting up our track with input monitoring.

Right click on the empty track area and select insert an audio track.

Drag the bottom of the track to expand it.

Use the dropdown that currently says -None- to choose right mono input.

The right input is the instrument input on the front of the UM2.

At this point, make sure your guitar is plugged into the audio interface before continuing.

Press the red circle to arm the track for recording.

This allows us to monitor the input level on that track, since the UM2 only has a signal

and clip light on the front.

If the level from the guitar is too quiet, use the volume knob on the top of the audio

interface to increase the level.

Next, click the button that looks like a sound wave to the right of the red button to turn

on input monitoring.

This allows us to hear the track processed through Cakewalk with the plugins.

Make sure to turn the Direct Monitoring switch on the front of the interface off, or whatever

other interface you're using, since we'll be doing this entirely through software.

Software can introduce a small amount of latency compared to direct monitoring, but we can

get it to a level that won't be noticeable and we don't want a direct signal playing

over top of the amp simulation.

With this enabled, we should be able to hear the guitar playing through the headphones.

If the volume is too low, turn up the headphones instead of the input level, otherwise it will

clip.

There shouldn't be too much latency here, but if there is you'll need to go back to

the ASIO4ALL panel in the preferences and decrease the buffer size.

Be careful when you do this, because having a buffer that's too small can cause pops

and clicks on the input, so try and find the balance between latency and clicks if you

need to.

Now we're ready to actually start adding amp simulation to our sound.

Go to the FX section on the track and press the plus button to add a new plugin.

Under Insert Audio FX go to Guitar and select TH3.

This is the guitar amp simulation plugin for Cakewalk, and it's a demo of a plugin by

Overloud.

We can use this to get the simulated amp sound, or we can use free guitar plugins, but this

way is a little bit cleaner and easier to use.

If you want more of those free plugins to choose from, check out our other video on

that topic.

I'll also link to that in the video description down below.

If the plugin doesn't show up, it might not be properly installed with the program.

To fix that, go to the Utilities menu and open up the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager.

Under VST3 audio effects, go to Show Excluded and make sure TH3 is enabled.

From here, scroll through the right side menu and choose an amp.

You can choose to use the cabinet simulation that matches with it, or pick another one

and drag it after the amp.

You can also drag effects pedals into the signal chain.

To get rid of something, just right click on it and remove it.

Now we can just click and drag the various knobs and switches to make adjustments.

You can even drag the microphone position around on the cabinet.

To change something, you can right click on it and replace it with a different amp, cabinet,

or microphone.

We're a little bit limited with some of the selections here since this is a demo version,

but it's more than enough for you to be able to practice guitar with.

At this point, we're free to play around with the different tools in the plugin and

we can practice guitar with Cakewalk by BandLab, only using a budget audio interface.

Thanks for checking out this video on how to practice guitar with amp simulation on

a budget.

'American Authors Do Recon for Jon' Official Sneak Peek | Bar Rescue (Season 6) - Duration: 2:04.

So for recon tonight

I wanted to bring in some great musicians

so I brought in American Authors.

I got actually all four band members to come tonight.

Zach, James, Dave, and Matt.

We've been going to dive bars forever.

We've been a band for ten years.

We literally go out to bars and we'll kinda like

play our own pretend Bar Rescue in our heads.

So it was really cool to finally be a part of it.

Announcer: Jon's spies enter the Airliner, a 3,500 square foot

music venue with one stage inside

and another on the back patio with a tented awning.

A full kitchen with a ticket window

offers up food to patrons and music-goers.

Zach: James, a half-drinken beer.

Okay. Welcome to the Airliner.

What can I wet your whistle with today?

Nadia: I don't have a cocktail list.

I have a few specials that I can tell you all about.

So we have the Miss Mary Jane.

It's a regular margarita with our well tequila.

I don't know why she told 'em it was a well tequila.

It doesn't make any sense.

You can upsell it, but you wouldn't down-sell it.

No.

You bet.

Nadia: You got it.

So one, two. Ooh, that was a lot.

This is like pouring in a lot.

(SIGHS)

Just a couple of dashes of bitters goes a long way.

Is this the main stage here?

This one, we do mostly DJs and like smaller bands.

We have another stage outside on the patio

you're welcome to check out if you'd like.

Oh, OK.

They have a big back area, it's awesome.

Jon: Not only is nobody out there,

it doesn't seem like they're using that space at all.

Wow. Pretty good pour, huh?

Nadia: Little short.

Oh yeah.

She took out a bar spoon and she does not know how to use it.

Michael: I know, she's spinning it.

The way she's stirring it, though.

You can tell she's never done it before.

No.

How is it?
