MIJN VERHAAL + NIEUW PAARD EN WAAR IS UTOPIA? - Duration: 12:07.

Hi! And thanks for tuning in. Welcome to our first weekly vlog.

A few weeks ago I asked you on instagram what this first vlog should be about

A lot of people requested I do a recap video.

So this will be that video, and I'll be telling you all about my horse adventure.

Let's go to the stable.

So here we are, at the paddocks. Åska is behind me and she's just started walking around.

I think this might be the tenth take in which I attempt to do this.

Aska just kept moving around in front of the camera, trying to push over my crate and lick my face.

So it wasn't a big success.

In this video I want to tell you about everything that has happened during the last 1.5 years.

A lot did happen, and the people who've been following me on instagram have seen several different horses.

1,5 years ago I started horse riding, so this video is a substantiation to all I've been sharing on my page.

There are 2 important reasons why I started horse riding.

The first being my family; my sister, aunt, and uncle all ride horses and have being doing so for years.

And I've always been crazy about animals, I always went along to the horses, or to the forest with the dogs.

And Priscilla did a lot of horse riding when she was little

and she picked it up again more than 1.5 years ago, with irish cob Rosa, who you might have seen on my page.

Of course the first thing she did when she started riding again, was put me on her horse to see if it would work.

But Rosa wasn't a very good horse to start on. She would try to throw me off by bucking and rearing.

Me and her weren't a big success.

So the first thing I did was take lessons at a jumping stable named Heijligers.

I learned to ride there, so some of my first rides were on that stable.

I did learn a few things, but like I said they focused on jumping so maybe it wasn't the ideal way to start.

But they accepted me in their lessons, so I went to ride there anyway.

I started riding on Coco, one of the horses used for lessons.

I got to join the jumping lessons, so everyone was jumping very high and I got to trot in circles.

Maybe it wasn't the best way for me to start learning, but at least it was better than Rosa.

I rode there for several weeks, until Priscilla had managed to find a horse for me to lease.

This horse was near Rosa, like 100 metres further down the road.

So that was very easy, everytime Priscilla went I could go along and ride the other horse.

The other horse was named Roza, with a 'z', and she was a friesian I could ride as much as I liked.

They both stood in the centre of Eindhoven, which was near where I lived.

I practiced a lot on her. She stood next to a busy road so I immediately got to learn how to deal with that.

I went to the forest a few times, along with Priscilla and Rosa.

I rode and practiced with her nearly every day of the week.

I learned a lot from watching youtube videos. I would watch people that gave riding tips.

I studied them every evening, and I would then go on and practice what I watched the next day.

That's how I learned a lot with Roza.

One of the best moments was when I finally managed to gallop with Roza. It hadn't been easy for me.

And the best thing about her was that she was a friesian, and I've always been crazy about friesians.

I think they're beautiful horses, and maybe that's just because I love black horses.

But it wasn't great for me to have the honour of riding a beautiful friesian to boot.

And aside from practicing I've done a lot of other things with her.

And I've done a lot of things at that place, I learned how to lunge Rosa, and I further learned how to jump.

After practicing very intensely for a few weeks I finally managed, baby steps, to ride irish cob Rosa.

That was the best feeling, to go from getting bucked around to being able to ride her properly.

After riding there for several weeks, I came across Utopia.

I had to make the hard decision to leave Roza, and also irish cob Rosa and Priscilla, so I could ride Utopia.

But Utopia was the perfect learning horse for me.

She was around 17, I believe, my description used to say she was 14 but she was a lot older than I had thought.

I learned the most from her.

I started training with her, continuing to watch youtube videos -- on trot, gallop, and riding her on the bit.

But something that made her extra difficult for me was that she's a harness horse.

And even though Roza had been a friesian, Utopia had even more leg action.

That made it difficult for me to practice gallop and my seat on her.

So again, one of the best moments with her was when I managed to gallop.

It had taken me several months of riding her to achieve.

I captured that first time on video. I was all alone with her and after trying again and again it suddenly worked.

I was very happy! And another thing I found difficult with her was to ride a sitting trot.

I practiced that a lot as well, and even asked people for tips on how to learn to do it.

A lot of people told me to either ride without stirrups, or without a saddle.

I was already watching a lot of different disciplines, and I saw a lot of people ride bareback.

I thought it looked really cool, so I told myself it would be the perfect way for me to practice my seat.

I went on to ride bareback a lot, so without a saddle and sometimes with a bareback pad.

It was addictive, but I also have to say it did teach me a lot.

And all of my practice allowed me to ride Åska bareback right away.

Who is stil searching for snacks.

It helped me a lot. And another thing I used to do a lot with Utopia was take her to the forest.

Her stable was a 60 minute walk away from Priscilla, and from the nearest forest.

So every time we wanted to ride together we had to leave really early.

But that also taught me a lot. We had to walk next to busy roadways and straight through the city, since we were in the centre of Eindhoven.

I never would have been able to get where I am now without Utopia -- she was a large part of my horse adventure.

But she was a full-on lease, so with everything that entailed it became increasingly more interesting to buy a horse.

Priscilla had been dreaming of owning a horse for over a decade, and attempted to buy Rosa.

But we wanted to start of with 1 horse for the both of us, so we had to meet halfway on our favourite horses.

I really wanted to own a friesian, and Priscilla had her own preferences.

So that resulted in Åska.

Even though Priscilla doesn't want to admit it, when Aska has her winter coat she resembles a friesian in my opinion.

She even has small feathers on her legs, so she's perfect in my eyes.

Even though she looks completely different during the summer months.

But during the last several months with Utopia, Priscilla used to tag me on a lot of horse ads on facebook.

Meant as a joke... Until one seller reached out to us privately and immediately sent us photos and videos.

And then we fell head over heels with Åska. These are some of the photos and videos we were sent.

But it was all very tensive, mainly because Åska was located over 800 km away from us.

That meant we couldn't just go and take a look, unless we took our time to book an entire holiday around it.

And even then the question would remain wether we'd buy her or not.

So we put a lot of work into it. Priscilla had to arrange multiple vets to check her.

All from our home in the Netherlands, and mainly with the use of Google translate.

Thanks to all those pictures and videos we continued to fall further in love with her.

She was deemed healthy by the vets, and the paperwork looked really good.

Priscilla did some asking around on forums.

And then finally the moment came for us to make a decision.

There were a lot of positive replies to her ad, so we had to be quick.

We ended up taking our chances -- which sounds fast, but we put a lot of though into it.

We arranged paid transportation, and before we knew it she arrived.

She traveled for 2 days, with a stop in Germany.

She was brought here in a giant truck.

When she arrived here... She was very relaxed.

She initially didn't want to leave the truck, but they carefully coaxed her to walk.

She exited the truck and all was immediately well. She just seemed to think; 'Oh well, here I am.'

We released her in the outside arena and she was very happy.

She ran around lungeing herself for almost 10 minutes straight.

She started following us straight away and she remained very respecting towards us.

We were convinced we'd made the right decision.

I think it might start raining soon...

And now that it's thundering it nicely complements my next topic.

Finding a name for Åska was a challenge. We thought for a long time on what to name her.

One of the first names that we took a liking to was Åska. But soon started second guessing.

We still hadn't made up our mind the night of her transportation.

But it started thundering very loudly, and we took that as a sign.

So we started translating thunder into different languages and found that Åska means thunder.

That name immediately stuck with us then.

We put her into her stable, gave her some rest, and she felt right at home and lied down the first night.

Åska used to be a broodmare, so she wasn't really trained before, but luckily she had been ridden some.

It's a very big change for me to go from Utopia to Åska.

Utopia already knew a lot, and Åska still has to learn almost everything.

But I think this is a good next step towards learning more.

Contrary to Utopia's stable, the stable where we're at now has a lot of surrounding nature.

We have a heather with large dunes of sand, fields of grass, and forests. Very beautiful.

And we took her out to the forest and heather during her first week here, to get familiar with the area.

We had to pass a short road to get there, and we were passed by cars, tractors, trucks, and she didn't care one bit.

Which is a bit strange because I don't think she passed a lot of traffic back at home.

Even though we didn't have a saddle or bridle for her during the first week, we still went ahead and rode her.

I had to honour of trying her first, promising I'd treat the others if I fell off.

Priscilla still had some show tack that we could use to ride her.

We did several rounds of gallop, which wasn't my own choice, it was Åska's.

Then after a few rounds she calmed down and relaxed.

We took her to the forest that same week, and even rode her for a bit for the first time.

She did very well, and she behaved perfectly.

To this day we still don't have a saddle or bridle.

For the bridle we did decide that we'd ride her bitless, so that she'd be taught everything that way.

She's picked it up excellently, even though she still has a lot to learn.

She's been with us for about 4 weeks now and we already race across the heather with her.

She's happy to do anything, so there's a lot more fun ahead of us.

I've blogged everything on my instagram, so you can check us out over there -- I'll place a link to it in the description.

You can also subscribe to our channel, we'll try to post as many videos possible about us, Åska, horse riding, and everything we do with our animals.

So I'll see you again next time, bye!

Sadhguru - Is Life Predestined? Strip off all the assumptions from your life. - Duration: 19:12.

[Questioner] We've grown up believing in destiny that okay this was predestined

so and this is the first time I've heard from you that,

you know it's basically in our own hands.

So I would like to know how really it is in my own hands to get something done.

Thank you.

[Sadhguru] See if it is predestined there is no such thing as right path and wrong path

because you cannot even choose the path, isn't it?

So you saying it is all destined and still making an effort to walk the right path - doesn't

make sense.

Isn't it so?

So definitely it's not predestined; otherwise …that's why you are still trying to see

what is the right thing to do.

Isn't it so?

If everything is predestined where is the need for you to think why, which is right,

which is wrong?

Anyway this is the way you're going to go.

Is that the reality?

No, that's not the reality, isn't it?

If two paths come you can chose this one or this one?

Do you have the choice or no?

See you are trying to absolve yourself of all the mistakes that you make in your life.

[mumbled speech] [Sadhguru] Now, when you say 'whenever I

make a wrong choice it's all predestined' -

you are only trying to absolve yourself on the mistakes that you make, isn't it?

You don't want to see that I've made a mistake.

You want see 'Oh it happened because it's God's will.'

Now too much bull like this has been going on for too long, too long

and this is the reason why something that's a natural progression of life has become so

difficult for human beings.

Enlightenment is not something that you have to force upon yourself;

it is a natural progression of development but you're not allowing that natural progression

to happen because you are creating these kinds of contradictions.

We will take, what you said as example there are many many examples different ways.

Now you say on one level everything is predestined; on another level you are a choosing a way

out of your present whatever, isn't it? [mumbled speech]

[Sadhguru] You are causing the confusion because first thing you started I believe everything

is predestined.

That means you are starting...

[Questioner] I have been brought up to believe.

[Sadhguru] Okay whichever way.

[All laugh] Okay we pass the buck to the parents.

[All Laugh] 'I have been brought up to believe, so now

I believe' is it okay?

[Laughs] And even that believing is not mine; I have

been brought up to believe.

[Laughs] You're believing means you are assuming

something that you do not know, isn't it?

Yes?

Why do you believe something?

Like for example, how many of you believe in God, please raise your hand.

The sleeping ones also please.

[Laughter] Okay.

How many of you believe no God?

Please raise your hands.

1 2 3 4 what is this half hand?

[Laughter] You?

Okay 6.

Okay.

Some people believe there is God; some people believe there is no God.

How many of you believe that you have two hands?

All such people just raise one hand.

[Participants Laugh] Yes maa?

Yes?

Okay.

Do you believe that you have two hands or do you know that you have two hands?

[Participants] We know.

[Sadhguru] You know.

Even if you have no eyes to see these hands, still do you know that you have hands?

[Participants] Yes.

[Sadhguru] Yes.

It's a living experience, isn't it?

Even if you cannot see them you still know you have hands.

With hands you know, with God you believe why?

[mumbled speech] [Sadhguru] Hum?

[Participant] No experience with God.

[Sadhguru] So you are full of bullshit that's what it means.

Somewhere you are not sincere enough to admit 'I do not know' that's your problem.

Everything that you do not know you want to say, 'I believe' with great confidence.

And if you go on like this your life will become a bigger and bigger mess

because you are assuming things and trying to live.

And your assumptions are not so strong enough because your mind is not simple enough.

You may assume one thing but the other part of the mind is continuously asking questions.

If you had a very simple childlike mind your assumption is all that you had you would become

a devotee.

It will work.

That will work… but now you have a little more complex intellect.

It doesn't accept any assumption totally.

It accepts only to the extent it's comfortable, convenient beyond that it doesn't.

Right now your belief in God is just like this.

You do everything that is important to you God is like an insurance on the side.

'I have also paid my premium' [Laughter] in case something goes wrong.

Isn't it so?

All the vital aspects of your life you are holding it in your hands.

(Are you or..…)

Are you holding it or no?

Your money, your children, everything that matters to you, you are holding it in your

hands.

God is like insurance, just in case something goes wrong,

I also paid my premium.

Every week I came and saw you God what are you doing?'

[All Laugh] This doesn't work.

Because of this deception life has become such a mess.

It's not because of God or no God you become a mess.

You become a mess because of all this deception.

This is the nature of your mind.

We are not talking about God, I want you to understand.

We cannot talk about God; we are only talking about the deceptions of your mind.

On a certain day a bull just sort of strayed into the forest.

Nice greenery so he just strayed into the forest grazing, grazing, grazing, he went

deep into the forest.

An old lion who was little past his prime, who was having trouble hunting for his food

just saw this big fat bull.

His mouth salivated.

A bull is a easier thing to hunt compared to the animals of the forest.

So he just waited, stopped the bull and attacked him, killed him and ate him up.

His stomach became real full.

With this full stomach with great satisfaction he roared.

A few hunters were passing that way.

They heard the lion roar; so they tracked him down and shot him dead.

The moral of the story is when you are so full of bull you should not open your mouth.

[All Laugh] Too many assumptions.

Too many assumptions; with these assumptions people are going on with great confidence.

Disaster is all that can happen.

What else can happen?

If you are not in touch with reality and if you (grow at) …go at great speed will you

head for disaster or no?

Hum?

You will definitely head for disaster either as an individual or as a whole society;

you definitely head for a disaster if you are running on too many assumptions.

Isnt it so?

Can we keep our assumptions aside, just look at reality the way it is.

It doesn't matter what your mother said, what your grandmother said,

what your father said or your forefathers said; they said whatever they knew or whatever

nonsense they believed or whatever nonsense they wanted you to believe

that is also there, [Laughs] isn't it?

They might have put many things they themselves don't believe because they wanted you to

believe something.

Haven't they done it?

Aren't you doing it?

So it's okay.

They said whatever they knew but you have your intelligence to look at life, isn't it?

Yes?

You have a father or you have a mother; does it mean to say you should not employ your

intelligence?

Is that the law?

Is that the law?

Then why do you say I was brought up to believe?

They can say anything they want; you still have your intelligence, isn't it?

Nobody can bring you up to believe anything.

They can only feed you and make your body grow.

Everything else they can speak whatever nonsense they speak;

you still have your intelligence which is discerning enough, isn't it?

But you kept it in your pocket; you don't want it to come out because if it comes out

then you have to struggle through knowing things and figuring out things and all this.

'No my father said this, this is the reality.

My grandfather also said the same thing so that is the reality.'

With this kind of attitude you know where we have taken the world?

Huge disaster, isn't it?

Isn't it so?

So now if you really want to know where I stand - first thing is strip off all the assumptions

from your life; just come to bare essentials.

'What is it that I know; what is it that I do not know;' let's start from there.

Then we can go somewhere.

Now you don't know which way, it doesn't matter but do you understand this;

if you want to start a journey you can only start your journey from that point where it

is experientially true for you.

Yes?

Yes?

Is that the right place to start your journey?

Is that common understanding?

First let's come there then which way to go, we will see later.

First get there; first drop all your bull; come to the place where you are right now;

what is the next step then we'll chart it out.

We don't have to chart out the whole path right now.

We will just chart out what is the next step.

According to your understanding you take the next step.

When it works we will chart out just one more step.

If it works, the next step.

Okay is that fair enough?

Yes?

Questioner: Sadhguru Namaste.

Sadhguru what is cosmic will and what is free will?

Is free will same as cosmic will or is there anything like cosmic which is

predestined?

Sadhguru: What you call as cosmic will is not will as you know it,

as human will, as your mind's will.

It has a certain pattern, it has a certain quality.

That which rules the cosmos has a certain… a consciousness and a tendency of its own.

That is always there, that you and me right now exist is cosmic

will, but right now,

you decided to come to sathsang is of course your will, isn't it?

Isn't it so?

So cosmic will is not like a decision.

It is just there.

It is because of cosmic will, we have taken on this form.

It is because of cosmic will, the planet is going around the sun.

These are not as human thoughts are; this is just the quality of the nature.

Right now, water flows from a high place to a low place.

Try to stop it whichever way you want.

It seems to have a will of its own, but that is not a will;

it is flowing according to the laws of gravity.

So cosmic will is like the gravitational force and various other things.

It just is there always.

It only acts that way because the very framework of life is based

on the cosmic will, but today you decide to do this or that,

that is definitely your will.

Cosmic will has no role in this, but you can use the cosmic force to make it

make your will into a reality.

Right now gravitational force is working, using that I am sitting here,

otherwise I would be floating all over the place.

Yes?

I would need an anchor to stay here.

Because gravity is working I am enjoying sitting here,

otherwise using the same gravity I can dance.

It's my will.

Sitting is my will, dancing is my will.

If I want, I can jump down, that is also my will,

but all these things cannot happen without the gravity.

That's the nearest analogy we can get there probably.

So cosmic will is always in play, we are enjoying it every moment of our life

or we are suffering it sometimes.

The gravity can make you dance, the gravity can make you fall if you're

not in tune with it.

So that is where your will plays.

Your will determines and your will is able to use the cosmic will.

Without that your will wouldn't even exist.

It is cosmic will that you must have a will, but do not try to fulfill your life through

your will because your will is generally empowered by

a thought and your thought is essentially an accumulated

stuff.

Your thought is what you have gathered from around you.

It's the data that you have gathered that you're reprocessing,

recycling in so many different ways.

Doing things with willpower is okay if you are aiming for small little things.

Today morning you want to get up at 5.00 o'clock, you're doing it with willpower or alarm

power?

(Laughter) If the alarm rings also,

you still need willpower to come out of your bed.

If you do this, you may get to do things, but at the end of the day you will have a

long face.

Instead of trying to do this with willpower, you do it with devotion,

you do it with love.

Now I want to get up at 5.00 o'clock because I have something that I really want

to do.

Not that I have to do this, there's nothing in my life that I have to

do.

Everything in my life are things that I want to do.

So if alarm is at 5.00 o'clock, I get up at 4.30,

because I want to do it.

If you conduct your life as I have to do it, because that's willpower.

'Oh, no matter what I must do it, I must do it, I must do it!'

You may get to do it, but your face will become long, miserable

face.

Everything happened, but at the end of the day you have a long

face; purpose is defeated, isn't it?

The purpose of doing all that is already been defeated.

Isn't it so?

Because you did not enjoy it, it does not fulfill you, what is the point?

So there is no need to do things to conduct your life with willpower.

Here and there small things, sometimes when your body is aching,

on that day you need willpower to push yourself a little bit,

but do not try to conduct the life process itself with willpower

because you will become a long successful face.

Ulcer in your stomach, success in your bag,

face so long nobody wants to see it or your chin will be scraping on the Hyderabad

roads.

(Laughter) Not good,

because I have a cushion; what will you do?

(Laughter)

Let's ask our political panel

about this.

A Republican consultant who has

worked on Gingrich, Carson and

Ryan campaigns.

And a former legislative and

policy director to chuck

Schumer and co-founder of third

Jim, you're up first.

You read the op-ed.

He said the far left of the

party is winning all the

primaries and it will hurt the

party in November.

>> Schoen is wrong.

I represent the moderate ring

of the democratic party and I

can tell you I'm ecstatic with

the way the elections have gone

so far, especially the primary

elections for house and senate

and governors races.

I'm a little baffled by the

left is winning narrative that

is out there right now.

I believe what's happened in

this election is that the quiet

voice in the middle has come

back with a vengeance and we're

winning in lots of places.

Texas, Kentucky, Arkansas, in

primaries in Virginia,

Pennsylvania, Illinois.

So I think it bodes well or

moderates and Democrats.

>> Jon: Some say the quiet

voices in the middle have gone

to the Republican side and why

Donald Trump won Michigan and

Wisconsin.

>> After the election showed in

some of the states you

mentioned part of the reason

why Hillary Clinton, I hate to

bring her up.

She is the most recent example.

The reason she didn't perform

as well as she should have many

voters in many counties that

president Obama won in his two

terms she did not win.

They voted for president trump.

I think the reason you're

beginning to now see a shift in

congressional ballot polling is

because Democrats are isolating

a lot of Democrats who are not

as Progressive as some of the

more extreme elements of the

party.

They are also isolating

independents.

Those voters will look at both

parties and see where they

stand on the issues.

For Republicans if they can

craft the proper message and

target those individuals

aggressively they can perhaps

court some of those folks to

their side come November.

So I think the jury is still

out on whether or not Democrats

will be able to do as well as

some think they should and will.

>> Jon: Let's ignore the

primaries in a moment.

The democratic party came close

to nominating a guy not a

Democrat, a democratic

socialist is the official title

for Bernie Sanders.

How do you explain that if the

party is so moderate?

>> There is an argument within

the democratic party like the

Republican party.

I think part of it is voters

are left and some voters just

want an alternative the Hillary

Clinton and Bernie Sanders was

the only one in the room.

If you look at what voters have

been doing since the trump

election in 2016, democratic

voters have been moving to the

center and it is one of the

most underreported things out

there.

Ralph northium won by 12 points

in the Virginia primary and

swept to victory in the

governor's race.

If you are listening to voters,

the quiet voice of voters

rather than the loud voices of

activists there is a resurgence

of moderates in the democratic

party.

>> If I can interject if that's

the case, John, why are the

Democrats pandering to the more

extreme elements of their party?

There is a distinct difference

between free exchange and

voluntary cooperation which is

capitalism versus couple pulse

re force.

They'll use elements such as

the government to dictate the

type of society that they

believe is best for most people.

I think the American people

don't believe that's the way

our society should be governed.

>> I agree with you.

I think there are loud voices

within the democratic party

have convinced some candidates

to take some very, very radical

positions.

But voters have been electing

the moderates in these

primaries and the folks who are

running for president in 2020

better pay attention because

these moderates are winning

primaries.

They've won -- moderate

Democrats have won 8 out of 11

confessed primary races in

seats where it could flip from

Republican to Democrats.

Democrats need to take that
