RANGERS manager Steven Gerrard wants to sign Liverpool's teenage sensation Ben Woodburn

on loan.

Wales international striker Woodburn is one of a number of Anfield players that Gerrard

would be keen to bring to Ibrox for the new season.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has already told his former youth coach that he would help

him where he could with possible loan players.

Woodburn, 18, is seen as one of the Reds' most promising young talents and Gerrard is

eager to give him a regular taste of first-team football in Glasgow.

Woodburn is Liverpool's youngest-ever goalscorer and has already won seven caps for Wales,

scoring once.

Two other potential Anfield options are Welsh international Harry Wilson, who spent last

season at Hull City, and fellow 21-year-old winger Ryan Kent.

Former Celtic target Dominic Solanke, 20, is another Liverpool youngster who has been

linked but Rangers have other forward targets ahead of him.

There will be no decisions made on any Liverpool players until their squad returns for pre-season

after the summer break.

Rangers, however, have dismissed speculation that former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel

is a target.

Gerrard is not interested in his old team-mate, who is currently at Turkish side Fenerbahce.

Brighton defender Connor Goldson, 25, does remain a live target, though.

Rangers have already signed his Brighton team-mate Jamie Murphy on a permanent basis and completed

deals for midfielder Scott Arfield and goalkeeper Allan McGregor.

What does it meant to you to be rewarded in this way on the Best of Africa night?

I feel honoured.

These events that happen in our community are definitely a big thing.

For me, looking at my journey and path,

I never would have seen myself being awarded things like this

in such events as Best of Africa

so it's a proud moment for myself that's for sure.

Can you tell us a little bit about the YB3 foundation for people who might not be too aware of it?

It's a concept that I came up with in my head.

With being injured for the last year,

I had a lot of things to do and obviously rehab was the main thing,

but I also had time to think about other things.

YB3's a concept. It's built up around the way I was brought up and what I used to do,

back in the day when I would play in the park with my friends.

With all the type of rules that was going on in our estate.

I've brought them to life with YB3.

The pitches are the shape of a hexagon. So if you think of one patch of the ball here,

That's the shape of the pitch and the goals are at the end.

Yeah, I basically just thought of a crazy idea. It's come to life and it's been incredible.

So, it's three on three.

Yeah, three on three.

With plenty of ball contact for the boys or girls.

playing with a smile.

You can only score in the oppositions half.

So you can't score from in your half, you have to score in the opposition's half.

You realise with the games concept, the size of the hexagon,

as you get closer to the goal the pitch narrows up.

There's a lot more thought, it's not like a normal pitch where you can run wide and then come in.

As you're getting closer to the goal you have to make quick decisions.

It's based around quick thinking, a lot of skills and agility,

plus enjoyment and also some rules.

The fun side of it is you get nutmegged because we all like to see that on the street.

Outside the actual winning and losing in YB3, is there any overall aim?

Yeah, I would definitely like to bring it to Kongo.

I think there is...

just from an educational standpoint

because a lot of the time in Kongo we don't have the best coaches that teach people

the way to play the game and

I think, just the basic rules of the YB3's

would help a lot of the nation in Kongo. A lot of the players as well.

With them understanding the game and knowing what to do in certain situations.

It will probably make their decision making better on a bigger field.

You're French born, English bred.

Do you feel a sense of responsibility carrying the Kongolese flag with you?

I've always had a vision, at the time when I decided I was going to play for Kongo.

I could have waited out to see if France was going to come

but I had this vision that I could do something special for Kongo.

That was playing in the AFCON and finishing third in my first tournament.

That was incredible for me.

If you saw the joy on the faces of the supporters in the country, it was just incredible

and ever since then I wanted to do even more and hopefully bring back more glory.

I look forward to hopefully doing that at the next AFCON.

When it comes to your club career as well, you've obviously

back into the Everton team over the last few weeks.

You've been doing pretty well, you scored a goal against Man City.

Are you solely focused on enjoying your football from now till the end of the season or match fitness?

I think the managers and the staff have done me a great favour by sticking me straight into the fray

when I first came back.

It's not easy to come back, being a year out, to come back and play with the elite in the Premier League.

That's something else.

I'm really chuffed with the position that I'm in today and I'm grateful for the games that I've played

because it's only going to help me get up to speed.

It's almost like I'm playing catch up, but it's been good.

It's really just one more challenge for you.

I mean you look at some of the other guys that are playing in the Premier League,

they have come through academies at massive clubs.

But you've got like 'Rocky's' story - coming right from the bottom of the ladder.

One of my friends told me briefly yesterday when I was speaking to him...

You've basically just come through and kind of almost self-taught.

As I'm going along the way, i'm almost educating myself and I never thought of it like that.

You're so caught up in trying to do well and

trying to impress the fans and trying to bring entertainment.

You don't think of that kind of stuff but when I do now,

it's incredible and I kind of think 'is that really me?'

Is that how people see me? Kind of thing...

This injury - I'm hoping to bring another chapter into it because

I'm confident that with my ability and pre-season coming up I should be back to the way I was before.

Are you a goal setter?

At different points of your career, even with your injury,

are you one of those that says okay I'll achieve this next, I'll achieve this next, I'll achieve this next?

Yeah coming back was one achievement.

Playing games was the other.

I scheduled myself to be on the bench for most of the games and just coming on

on and getting a feel again but I've started a lot more than I thought I would.

That's credit to the manager for having the confidence in my ability.

It's been great, you come back and it's what football's made of.

I've played almost 14 games now and seven against the top six,

which is the hardest thing ever to come in and do that straight away.

I was just happy to be back out on the pitch and I'd like to think everyone thinks the same way.

How gaming is good for you. In this video I discuss four ways video games affect

your behavior and how video games have an emotional impact on you. I'm Dr. Tracey

Marks a psychiatrist and in this channel I talk about mental health education and

self-improvement. I publish every week on Wednesday, so if you don't want to miss a

video, click Subscribe and the notification button because otherwise

you won't know, you'll just be a subscriber. Video gaming is everywhere.

It's popular with children as well as adults and there's definite negatives to

video gaming such as playing excessively and neglecting your responsibilities, but

there's some definite upsides to playing video games and there's lots of research

on this actually confirming these findings and I'll have those links or

not links. I'll have those references in the description below so here are the

four benefits. Number one: playing video games especially, the shooter type games

improves cognitive functions such as attention, spatial skills, visual

processing and mental rotation abilities. Spatial skills are the ability to

visually manipulate things in your head and having strong spatial skills

predicts better performance in STEM areas STEM stands for science, technology

engineering and mathematics. An important point though in this in the Granick

study and I've referenced that below is that they they noticed that the enhanced

cognitive abilities came from playing the shooter games. They didn't come or

you didn't see this these improvements with the puzzle and the role-playing

games. They proposed that this was likely because of the visually rich graphics

and the kind of quick need to make decisions

and things that came with the shooter type videos. Video games also enhance

creativity and problem-solving so for the creativity they they found that the

video that all video games helped with that

not just the shooter games. Number two video games improve how you bounce back

from failure. Now I know that's kind of deep so just give me a minute here and

I'll explain. This is a watered-down explanation of this and if you want to

know the details you can read the article that I've referenced in the

description by Dweck. So here's the explanation. Your beliefs about your

intelligence and your abilities are based on the way you were praised as a

child. If you were praised for your traits, "You're such a smart boy," you will

believe that your intelligence is something that you're born with and it's

fixed and really you can't change it essentially you got what you got. Then

and this is called the entity theory of intelligence. If you were praised for

your efforts, "You work so hard on that, great job." Then you will believe that

your intelligence is changeable and you can improve it with hard work. This is

called the incremental theory of intelligence. Still with me? Here's where

the gaming thing comes. In the immediate feedback that you get with video games

through points and bonuses and things those things reward persistence and it

keeps players playing. Some games do a really good job of this by dynamically

increasing the difficulty level requiring you to think faster and be

craftier and navigate better etc. So if you're one who has the incremental

theory of intelligence, the one that's effort based when you fail at a level,

that failure will motivate you to keep going because you'll already internally

understand that just working hard can allow you to get better. In contrast,

someone with the entity theory of intelligence, that's the one that's

inborn, that person is more likely to feel worthless from failing and they're

more likely to just give up. So video games promote and train you to be more

motivated by failure and to be more resilient. Now if you start playing video

games at 50, this probably doesn't apply to you much. But if it's something you've

been doing for a while and your personality is more malleable and

changeable these games or at least it's thought can help help you develop more

of an attitude of working hard to achieve and be more resilient to

failures. Another benefit to video gaming is that it helps you process aggression.

In the psychiatry world we call this sublimation. Sublimation is a defense

mechanism where you take unacceptable impulses and process it through

acceptable means. so for example if your coworker makes you stressed and angry,

instead of coming home and yelling at the dog you go running instead to blow

that off. I had this experience in my medical internship. Now medical

internship was not fun on a lot of levels. It's a lot of pressure

you don't hardly get any sleep you don't get very much sleep.

You're on call a lot, a lot of things to do, you always have way too many

things to do than you have time to do. Okay. So working under pressure and you

do it for a whole year everybody just understands is it

something you just got to get through. Okay that's one thing then there are all

these other little things that didn't really have to do with internship per se

that would just get me right here. There'd be things that as an intern I'd

have to do. I'm like do I really need a medical degree to be the one who had to sweep

the floor? I mean why am I at being asked to do this? And I couldn't do anything

about it because I'm the low person on the totem pole. You just got to do what

you have to do. So I work all day deal with these

things that irritate at me, go home be angry, go to bed, get up next day and keep

doing it for a whole year until I discovered the

game Quake. Now this was in the 90s the graphics weren't nearly what they're

like today with video games. But this is a game where you would go and you shoot

creatures and blood would spurt out and if you shot them just in the right spot

the head would blow off and it was just so satisfying to see that. You could even

dive into the water and sometimes see their heads sitting on the ground or

sitting at the bottom of the lake. That was just so relaxing for me. So then I

started going to work putting up with the stuff I had to put up with and I'd

be thinking about I can't wait to get home and play Quake. I go home play, be

relaxed and then go to bed. And that got me through my internship. Then when I

finish my medical internship and started doing psychiatry full time, my stress

level went from way up here to way down there because I wasn't on-call as much.

So I was still working hard but my hours were less and I was getting more sleep.

So I was able to go out with friends and enjoy New York City, which is the best

city in the world by the way, and I was just loving life. I wasn't angry anymore.

So one day I thought you know I hadn't played quake in a while let me just give

it a go and it was like... and I thought how in the world did I play this game it was just way too

stressful for me and the reason it was stressful because I didn't need to

sublimate my aggression or my anger anymore.

So Quake was my meditation at the time. Now many people will say video games

promote violence and if you look at the example I just gave you I'm shooting off

heads for pleasure what does that tell what does that say about my personality?

What does that say about what I'm gonna become? Well actually this has not been

shown to bear out in studies in fact one published in 2014 was a long-term study

and it came to the conclusion that thus far there's been no

link between violent video games and the violence and the users or even violence

in society and even earlier studies have shown that playing violent video games

decreases youth violence. And researchers suggested for this particular study that

it might be related to the distraction or being able to be distracted by using

these games. Now my own theory is that it has to do with this idea of sublimating

your aggression. Someone makes you angry, you log in, you shoot a couple of zombies,

you feel better, you can reenter the world and assume appropriate behavior

that conforms to society's rules. Now of course I say this in jest. You shouldn't

want to hurt people. But the truth is we all have a primitive lizard part of our

brains that has aggressive impulses. The psychological term for this is the ID.

And what you do with these aggressive impulses matters more than having the

impulses. So we all have a bunch of unacceptable thoughts that we don't act

on. But pretending like you don't even have bad thoughts causes more problems

than just accepting that you do. So if you have some angry feelings towards

someone or something, acknowledge it, pray about it if you're a

praying person, then go work it out whether it be through video games or

taking a jog or banging on some chicken breasts while you're making dinner. Last

benefit: video games can help you be more social. This can come from either playing

side-by-side or even playing multiplayer games. And it's not just about playing

with other people that can make you be more social. Some of these games will

reward you for cooperating to help someone else.

So some research has shown that children who play these pro-social games

are more cooperative and helpful with other children. So if you're not a game

and green-screen as the two most important factors in what we choose to

put in our space. In this video we'll get down with all the equipment and even

solve the toughest problems caused by shooting in what most experts might

think is too small a room proving once again that space is the final frontier

ready to build your space I hope so i'm steve washer and this is the

five-minute authority where people come to conquer small spaces and small minds

to get true freedom and personal power sometimes we can use video to extend our

power which means making it on demand and in the highest quality and foremost

that means using a green screen so we'll build this studio around the idea of

getting a primo green screen result in every video in part one of this series I

give you a cheat sheet of ten questions about your space and your equipment if

you have the answers to those questions in front of you now you're going to get

such a lot out of this video if you don't have them you can review part one

and give yourself those answers then return for the rest of this video or

just keep watching by the way this really is opening up the kimono as they

say because I've never really showed this setup to the world but I'm doing it

now because I want you to understand that a personal studio only needs to

please you it doesn't need to look a certain way or have certain stuff in it

it just needs to work and this one as simple and humble a space as it is works

quite well and you can do the same so since everything revolves around the

green screen we'll start there first of all you probably know that the green

screen needs to be lit separately from you and you don't want it lighting you

up from behind so now we start spending that space budget we talked about last

time that really expensive one that we calculate in feet and inches so if

you're using soft boxes as most do to get enough light it's

going to cost you two feet just to get in front of the box itself but it's also

going to cost you another three and a half feet from the edge of a softbox to

the actual surface of the green-screen and then you've got to stand at least

another foot in front of the softbox to avoid getting hit by it's light

so now you've you've basically spent six feet right there but that's not all

there's a hidden cost of about a foot because your screen will probably be

suspended between two poles and the legs for the poles will stick out from the

wall by about 12 inches so now we you know spend about seven feet from the

back wall so where do we put our camera well probably on the opposite wall or as

close as we can get to it I'm five feet from the lens here and my tripod needs

another two feet to handle the weight of the teleprompter any camera where the

zoom lens can give you a shot from you know at least the waist up from this

distance but that puts us a full 14 feet from the back wall to the front wall but

at least now we know how much this space is going to cost us okay so you may be

wondering can this setup fly given the inches you have to work with what if

your room is only 10 by 11 or smaller does that mean you can't do this well of

course not if you don't have the room to spare the first thing you can do is look

at those soft boxes they're very expensive and how much room they demand

like 2 feet you know you can substitute LED lights for soft boxes that cost

marginally more money but they let you subtract two whole feet from your setup

so now we need 12 feet instead of 14 if that still doesn't get you there look at

how the green screen is hung you could hang your green screen from the wall

instead of suspending it between light poles and eliminate another entire foot

now you've cut down your space requirements all the way from 14 feet to

11 feet ah but what if you need yet another foot

because your room is that very popular 10 by 10 well most people have a door if

you shoot from outside it you can extend the length of a room effectively by 2

more feet that means that the room really only has to be 9 feet long but if

you don't want a tripod permanently planted in your hallway

you couldn't choose a camera with a wider lens that takes in more of the

scene from closer in that could buy you a foot or two so you could still only

require 9 feet front to back and if I recall my bachelor days even most New

York apartments have that much space now you can place your lights one on each

side of the camera aimed at the spot where you'll be standing because now you

know exactly where that spot is then place a special support called a c-stand

over to one side put an arm on it and hang a light from the end of the arm as

a backlight to further separate you from the background and help get rid of any

green fringe by the way a really good C stand is when you can stand on because

you don't want that back light falling on your head then fire up a monitor to

help you get centered on the screen then just turn on your mic it record and

you're good to go it takes a little while to set this up

but then anytime you want to make a video it'll be on demand in real time

I'm not exaggerating I generally shoot my videos in the same

amount of time it takes to watch them but a setup I can leave standing is a

big part of it if I had to reset this up every time I wanted to make a video I'm

not at all sure I would do it I'd probably grab a selfie stick and go

shoot outside this particular setup is for those who prefer their videos to be

as sharp as they can be without the creation part taking half their life

after all we have a business to run I hope this little workshop helped you
