DONALD Trump�s decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel has been labelled

an act of �blatant aggression� by Al-Qaeda, it has emerged.

According to US-based SITE monitoring website, the terror group is calling on its supporters

to carry out attacks on the US and its allies in response to the move by the Republican

firebrand.

In a statement, the Islamist militant group said Trump�s decision was a result of �normalisation

steps� between some Gulf Arab countries and Israel.

The group added: �The recognition of Jerusalem of the capital of the Zionist entity is blatant

aggression by the Crusader Trump against the sanctities of Muslims.�

�It is also a clear challenge to the Muslim world that sees the centrality of the Palestinian

cause.

�In the face of this serious events, we stand by our people in Palestine and support

them with all we possess.

�If you do not move, God forbid, then tomorrow the holiest of places and the Muslims� Qiblah,

Mecca, will be sold and you will find then no one to defend it.�

Al-Qaeda then called on Muslims with money and weapons to help and asked Islamist militants

to be ready to support Palestinians.

The branch of the terror group that made the statement, AQAP, was formed in 2009 when Al-Qaeda�s

Saudi Arabia and Yemen groups came together.

The US has previously carried out a number of drone strikes on the group that has targeted

its leaders.

In 2011 a drone strike ordered by Barack Obama killed Anwar al-Awlaki, a well-known figure

in the group who was known to convert people to its ideology.

Trump announced on Wednesday he believes �it is time to officially recognise Jerusalem

as the capital of Israel".

The decision unravelled years of work to establish peace in the Middle East and sparked warnings

from Hamas about possible uprisings against Israel.

Spontaneous protests broke out in the region following the move and despite the deployment

of thousands of Israeli troops, there are few signs that tensions will subside quickly.

The Islamist group said Trump had �opened the gates of hell� with his �flagrant

aggression� while Turkey strongly condemned the move.

Yesterday the US asked Israel to temper its response to the US recognition of Jerusalem

as the country�s capital.

According to a document seen by Reuters on Wednesday, Washington�s State Department

is weighing the potential threat to US facilities and people.

�While I recognise that you will publicly welcome this news, I ask that you restrain

your official response,� the document dated December 6 said in talking points for diplomats

at the US Embassy in Tel Aviv to convey to Israeli officials.

�We expect there to be resistance to this news in the Middle East and around the world.

We are still judging the impact this decision will have on US facilities and personnel overseas,�

the document said.

A second State Department document seen by Reuters, which was also dated December 6,

said the agency had formed an internal task force �to track worldwide developments�

following the US decision on Jerusalem.

A US official who spoke on condition of anonymity said it was standard to set up a task force

�any time there is a concern about the safety and security of US government personnel or

US citizens.�

The State Department had no immediate comment on either document.

The status of Jerusalem, home to sites holy to the Muslim, Jewish and Christian religions,

is one of the biggest obstacles to reaching an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal.

Israel considers Jerusalem its eternal and indivisible capital and wants all embassies

based there.

Palestinians want the capital of an independent state of their own to be in the city's eastern

sector, which Israel captured in the 1967 Middle East war and annexed in a move never

recognised internationally.

Trump Voter Fraud Probe Creating A �Treasure Trove� For Hackers, Security Experts Say.

A group of former top intelligence and cybersecurity officials warned Tuesday that President Donald

Trump�s voter fraud probe was creating a database of voters� personal information

that was a ripe target for hackers and could contain serious security vulnerabilities.

Over the summer, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the Republican who is leading

the probe, sent a letter to election officials in all 50 states requesting all publicly available

voter information, including, if possible, the last four digits of social security numbers.

It�s not entirely clear yet what the commission plans to do with the information, but officials

have expressed interest in comparing the voter information against various federal databases

? such as a Department of Homeland Security list of non-citizens ? to try to identify

people who are on the rolls illegally.

Experts are skeptical that that would be a reliable way to find voter fraud, which several

studies have shown is not a widespread problem.

Most of the signers of the brief were former Obama administration officials, including

James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence.

They filed the brief in a lawsuit against the commission warning that compiling a vast

set of personal information on all Americans was extremely dangerous and would create a

�treasure trove� for hackers and likely be targeted by hostile nations.

DHS has determined Russian hackers scanned voting systems in 21 states during the 2016

election.

�A database that contains large volumes of [personally identifiable information] is

an extremely attractive target for cyberattacks.

Hackers seek to exploit this type of information for a number of reasons, ranging from ordinary

criminal profiteering (e.g., to commit identity theft or to sell the information on the black

market for others to commit identity theft) to intelligence collection by hostile nation

states or non-state actors.

The bigger the database, the greater the payoff from a potential breach,� they wrote in

the brief.

The commission has not been consistent in saying how it plans to store the information.

It initially said it would store the data on a secure Department of Defense server,

but after that raised legal questions, it reversed course and said only the White House

would handle the information and store the data.

The intelligence officials said it was unclear what safeguards were in place to protect the

data in the White House system.

�This new platform is effectively being tested for the first time through the ingestion

of millions of data points about American voters.

Additionally, the White House�s Information Technology staff does not have the same technical

resources at its disposal to maintain large-scale databases as the Department of Defense,�

the brief says.

Charles Christopher Herndon, the director for White House information technology, has

said only a limited number of staff would have contact with the server, but the security

experts said vast resources were needed to work on a system that is frequently the subject

of cyberattacks.

�There is no indication that the Commission has taken the appropriate additional measures,

and allocated the necessary additional resources, to fortify its database against these risks,�

the brief says.

�Given that attempted attacks against White House unclassified networks are regularly

reported in the media (and therefore should be well known to the Commission), this suggests

an overall lack of attentiveness to the magnitude and gravity of the cybersecurity risks posed.�

In addition to Clapper, the former officials who signed the brief included Andrew Grotto,

a former senior director of cybersecurity policy at the White House from 2016 until

2017; Nancy Libin, the chief privacy officer at the Department of Justice from 2009 until

2012; and Paul Rosenzweig, a former deputy assistant secretary for policy at DHS from

2006 to 2009.

In an October court filing, the commission disclosed it had received data from 19 states.

Andrew Kossack, a federal official charged with running the operations of the commission,

said in a different legal filing that the commission�s staff wasn�t currently doing

anything with the data because it faced multiple lawsuits.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation, which is run by J. Christian Adams, a member of

the probe who is close to Kobach, suggested in a tweet the security concerns in the brief

were overblown.

The brief was filed in support of a lawsuit brought by Common Cause, a left-leaning watchdog

group.

The suit argues the commission violated the 1974 Privacy Act, which says agencies can

�maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment

unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is

maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement

activity.� In August, a federal judge denied a request by Common Cause to halt the commission�s

work while the litigation was pending.

The emergence of Prince Uche Secondus as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reportedly dashed the hope of Atiku Abubakar of being the party's presidential candidate.

At the PDP's national convention in Abuja on Saturday, December 9, a unity list was circulated which already showed that Secondus would emerge as chairman of the party. The list was purportedly compiled by the governors in the party.

The Nation reports that the same governors have also compiled a list of possible presidential candidates before Atiku defected to the party.

According to The Nation, "the governors are weighing the following aspirants and likely defectors, among others: ex-Governor Ahmed Makarfi; ex-Governor Sule Lamido, ex-minister of education Ibrahim Shekarau, Gombe state Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo, ex-Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso (still being wooed by PDP) and Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (who is a political ally of the coordinator of the power brokers, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike).

Tambuwal is of the APC.". It was reported that although Atiku has the backing of former presidents, Goodluck Jonathan and Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, the governors seem to be running the affairs of the leadership of the party and would need their support.

It was alleged that the governors had "unwritten pact with Makarfi" and he has fulfilled his end with the emergence of Secondus as chairman.

A party source said: "Atiku has many hurdles to cross before he can get the party's presidential ticket. He has to convince the governors to support him.

"There are also fears in the party that Wike might woo Tambuwal back to PDP and allow him to try his luck for the presidential ticket. With the huge resources displayed at the convention, Tambuwal may alter equations in the party.

"Atiku is certainly in a tight corner. As an experienced politician, he could see the signs. He has been ingenious politically and he can find his way through the landmines.".

Prince Harry Lashes Out With Harsh Words For Photographers Who Took His Mother's Life

Losing a parent at any age is painful and tragic.

It's especially terrible if you're a member of the royal family where every aspect of

your life is played out in the media.

At the time of their mother's death, Prince William was 15 while his younger brother,

Prince Harry, was just 12 years old.

The royal family received a tremendous amount of criticism for not immediately going public

with their grief over the loss of Diana.

The queen, though, did what she thought was best for the two young princes.

She wanted them to mourn in privacy and to deal with their feelings without public intrusion.

Diana, 7 Days is a candid BBC1 documentary where those closest to the late Princess of

Wales speak openly and honestly about how her death affected them and how they felt

about the media's and public's reaction to her death.

Among those interviewed were Diana's sons, Princes William and Harry, Diana's sisters,

and her former lady-in-waiting.

Everyone interviewed responded differently to the loss of the late princess.

Prince Harry lashed out at the media.

He had very harsh words for those photographers who, in his eyes, caused the accident in the

Paris tunnel and then took photos of his mother as she lay dying in the back seat of the car.

Those same individuals sent the horrific photographs to news desks.

"I think one of the hardest things to come to terms with is the fact that the people

who chased her into the tunnel were the same people that were taking photographs of her

while she was still dying on the back seat of the car," he said.

"And William and I know that – we've been told that numerous times by people that

know that was the case," he continued.

"She'd had quite a severe head injury, but she was very much still alive in the back

seat.

"And those people that caused the accident, instead of helping, were taking photographs

of her dying on the back seat.

And then those photographs made their way back to news desks in this country."

Prince William holds the media responsible as well, but said he vowed a long time ago

not to allow the loss of this strong woman to break him or his brother.

"When you have something so traumatic as the death of your mother when you're 15,

as very sadly many people have experienced and no one wants to experience … it will

either make or break you," he said.

"And I wouldn't let it break me; I wanted it to make me."

"I wanted her to be proud of the person I would become," he continued.

"I didn't want her worried or her legacy to be that William and/or Harry were completely

and utterly devastated by it and that all the hard work, and all the love, and all the

energy that she put into us when we were younger would go to waste."

The princes, who are now grown men, will always remember their mother and, unfortunately,

her death; but they have become stronger men for it.

Diana affected millions of lives around the world.

She influenced those who never met her.

Her sons realize this completely and they've taken up their mother's legacy as she would

undoubtedly wish them to do.

William and Harry have contributed to improving the world by championing causes of their own.

Their mother would certainly be proud of the compassionate, caring adults they've become.

Security experts say a group of former top intelligence and cyber security

Officials warned Tuesday that President Donald Trump as voter fraud probe was creating a database of voters personal information

That was a ripe target for hackers and could contain serious security vulnerabilities over the summer

Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach the Republican who is leading the probe sent a letter to election officials in all 50 states

requesting all publicly available voter information

Including if possible the last four digits of social security numbers. It is not entirely clear yet

What the Commission plans to do with the information?

But officials have expressed interest in comparing the voter information against various federal databases

Such as a Department of Homeland Security list of non-citizens

to try to identify people who are on the rolls illegally

Experts are skeptical that that would be a reliable way to find voter fraud, which several studies have shown is not a widespread problem

most of the signers of the brief were former Obama administration officials including James clapper the former Director of National Intelligence

They filed the brief in a lawsuit against the Commission warning that compiling a vast set of personal

Information on all Americans was extremely dangerous and would create a treasure trove for hackers and likely be targeted by hostile nations

DHS has determined Russian hackers scanned voting systems in 21 states during the

2016 election a database that contains large volumes of personally identifiable information is an extremely attractive

target for cyberattacks

Hackers seek to exploit. This type of information for a number of reasons

ranging from ordinary criminal profiteering for example to commit identity theft or to sell the

Information on the black market for others to commit identity theft to intelligence collection by hostile nation states or non-state actors

The bigger the database the greater the payoff from a potential breach they wrote in the brief

the Commission has not been consistent in saying how it plans to store the
