Atiku meets Jonathan, calls for unity in PDP

The former vice president who was a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) resigned his membership and returned to the PDP. Former vice president, Atiku Abubakar met with Goodluck Jonathan at PDP convention. Credit: Twitter, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku met former president, Goodluck Jonathan at the party's national convention which took place on Saturday, December 9 and shared a picture of his meeting with him.

In reaction, some Nigerians accused the former vice president of wanting to loot the countrys treasury while others commended his move.

com previously reported that Atiku has sent a message to President Muhammadu Buhari saying Nigerians will decide who will be president between them by 2019. This was in response to President Buhari's remark that his popularity was waxing stronger.

The president made this statement when he went on a two-day trip to Kano.

"Investigation of a Coma During Brain Death Examination" by David Urion for OPENPediatrics - Duration: 3:47.

Investigation of a Coma During Brain Death Examination, by Dr. David K. Urion.

The first thing we'll do is examine the patient and that, in the point of fact, as we look

up here, his heart rate is 110, his blood pressure is 89 to 85 over 50s, and his oxygenation

is at 100% by pulse oximeter.

That's all of the metabolic conditions, and his temperature has also been demonstrated

to be above 36 degrees, would be present so that we can proceed with this examination.

And you'll have to take our word for it that we've interrogated the chart and made certain

that there is no explanatory findings of sedating medications, neuromuscular blocking agents,

or things of that nature.

The first thing we would do is to see if we can discern any response from the patient

at all.

We'd say, hello, hello, hello.

Hello, young man.

In the absence of that, we'd then see if more vigorous stimulation would provoke any kind

of response from him at all.

In the presence of decorticate or decerebrate posturing, we know, then, that parts of the

nervous system are still intact, and therefore, the diagnosis of brain death can't be made.

It's important to remember, however, that there are certain automatic responses that

don't constitute anything from the brain itself.

For example, a so-called triple flexion response, flexion at hip, knee, and ankle is an involuntary

spinal response, and doesn't constitute any kind of a meaningful response from the brain

itself.

And so, in this instance, the first thing we would do is a moderately painful stimulus,

for example, here at the toes.

Any of a number of things can be used to generate a painful stimulus.

You can put your reflex hammer in between the toes, holding onto them and twisting like

this.

We then look to see if there's autonomic response, and we see that, while I'm doing this, his

heart rate is completely invariant and making no change at all.

Finally, we'd lift back his eyelids and we'd look to see if there's any pupillary response

to this at all.

Again, an autonomic nervous system change that might suggest intactness of certain parts

of the thalamocortical connections, and in this instance, there's none.

Painful Toe Stimulus.

A normal response to the application of a painful stimulus to the toes is that the patient

should withdraw his or her foot as seen here.

An abnormal response is when a patient does not withdraw his or her foot as demonstrated

here, nor does he or she demonstrate any autonomic or pupillary response to the stimulus.

Similarly, we can grab the nail bed and squeeze here, again, seeing if there's any kind of

pupillary response in our patient and, again, looking for any kind of autonomic nervous

system response, or involuntary or voluntary motor response.

And again, we see none.

Painful Nail Bed Stimulus.

A normal response to the application of strong pressure to any of the nail beds will be that

the patient should withdraw his or her hand as seen here.

An abnormal response is when a patient does not withdraw his or her hand, nor does he

or she demonstrate any autonomic or pupillary response to the stimulus.

Family Business Charter - An essential tool for family businesses - Duration: 2:56.

Welcome to my video and today I'm going to be talking about the Family Business

Charter. Now, this is something I think that all family businesses should be

looking to create. It's important to have this because it gives a background and a

structure to how the family business is run. Now, there are some things that will

be there already in your family business. So there'll be family and business.

Though that will have vision and values that are embedded already and there will

be structures. So in my scenario that I've drawn here, I think probably this is

already in place. It's the bedrock on which your business is already operating.

But I think that on top of this, and probably less important for the first

generation family businesses, but for second, third, fourth and so on this

becomes a really important document and I know that some of my clients are

already creating it. It's not an easy document to do but it's well worth the

pain and the effort that you go through. I look at it as a structure as you can

see I've drawn here. There's six areas that I think need to be covered in a

family charter and I do mean an actual written document. It covers things like

the ownership of the business, governance, how do you become a leader? Do you have

to be a blood tie? Or can in-laws be involved? Communication - that's always

going to be important where there's conflict or there's change, coming to a

resolution quickly and fairly. Employment - what qualifications are needed, what sort

of things do we need from each generation as it goes through, and some

ground rules which can be really wide-ranging. There is a template that

you'll be able to download which has got not all the answers but I've got I think

probably most of the questions that families should be asking themselves for

this. But really important in this structure are these two side pillars

that I put. Well I put in here in view so everybody should understand what's in

this charter and really live it, really believe in it and if you can come to

that position that will give you one strong pillar. And the other side is the

understanding that there's an ability to renew it. Organisations change, business

changes, the world changes. So you need to be able to go back to the Charter and to

be able to change it and make it work for today. It's an important document. It

will take time to do and it won't be easy but I think that if

you can get a family charter, you set your family business up to be able to

move forward into whatever it's going to come across and actually stay as a

strong structure that really works for you as the family, and works as a

business. If you're interested in any of this, and we are doing a lot of work with

family businesses, then please do give me a call or get in touch with us. Thanks.

Trump Voter Fraud Probe Creating A 'Treasure Trove' For Hackers, Security Experts Say - Duration: 4:56.

Trump voter fraud probe creating a treasure trove for hackers

Security experts say a group of former top intelligence and cyber security

Officials warned Tuesday that President Donald Trump as voter fraud probe was creating a database of voters personal information

That was a ripe target for hackers and could contain serious security vulnerabilities over the summer

Kansas secretary of state Kris Kobach the Republican who is leading the probe sent a letter to election officials in all 50 states

requesting all publicly available voter information

Including if possible the last four digits of social security numbers. It is not entirely clear yet

What the Commission plans to do with the information?

But officials have expressed interest in comparing the voter information against various federal databases

Such as a Department of Homeland Security list of non-citizens

to try to identify people who are on the rolls illegally

Experts are skeptical that that would be a reliable way to find voter fraud, which several studies have shown is not a widespread problem

most of the signers of the brief were former Obama administration officials including James clapper the former Director of National Intelligence

They filed the brief in a lawsuit against the Commission warning that compiling a vast set of personal

Information on all Americans was extremely dangerous and would create a treasure trove for hackers and likely be targeted by hostile nations

DHS has determined Russian hackers scanned voting systems in 21 states during the

2016 election a database that contains large volumes of personally identifiable information is an extremely attractive

target for cyberattacks

Hackers seek to exploit. This type of information for a number of reasons

ranging from ordinary criminal profiteering for example to commit identity theft or to sell the

Information on the black market for others to commit identity theft to intelligence collection by hostile nation states or non-state actors

The bigger the database the greater the payoff from a potential breach they wrote in the brief

the Commission has not been consistent in saying how it plans to store the

Information it initially said it would store the data on the secure Department of Defense server

But after that raised legal questions it first Corson said only the white house would handle the information and store the data

The intelligence officials said it was unclear what safeguards were in place to protect the data in the White House system

This new platform is effectively being tested for the first time through the ingestion of millions of data points about American voters

additionally the White House s information

Technology staff does not have the same technical resources at its disposal

to maintain large-scale databases as the Department of Defense the brief says

Charles Christopher Herndon the director for White House Information Technology

Has said only a limited number of staff would have contact with the server

But the security experts said vast resources were needed to work on a system that is frequently the subject of cyberattacks

there is no indication that the Commission has taken the appropriate additional measures and

Allocated the necessary additional resources to fortify its database against these risks the brief says

Given the attempted attacks against White House

Unclassified networks are regularly reported in the media and therefore should be well known to the Commission this suggests

An overall lack of attentiveness to the magnitude and gravity of the cybersecurity risks posed in

Addition to clapper the former officials who signed the brief included Andrew Grotto a former senior director of cybersecurity

policy at the White House from

2016 until 2017

Nancy Lieberman the chief privacy officer at the Department of Justice from 2009 until

2012 and Paul Rosen's Weick a former deputy assistant secretary for policy at DHS from

2006 to 2009 in an October court filing the Commission disclosed it had received data from 19 States

Andrew Cossack a

Federal official charged with running the operations of the Commission said in a different legal filing that the Commission as staff Wasson T

Currently doing anything with the data because it faced multiple lawsuits the public interest Legal Foundation

Which is run by J. Christian Adams a member of the probe who is close to Kovac?

Suggested in a tweet the security concerns in the brief were overblown

The brief was filed in support of a lawsuit brought by common cause a left-leaning watchdog group

the suit argues that commission violated the

1974 Privacy Act which says agencies can maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment

unless expressly

Authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law

Enforcement activity in August a federal judge denied a request by common cause to halt the Commission s work while the litigation was pending

Easy Christmas Game Ideas for Groups | Part 2 - Duration: 6:38.

hey guys! Shawn here. Welcome to prayerlights. If you are new, this channel is

all about mommy lifestyle vlogs to help you raise

a Jesus loving child. Today's video is part 2 of Christmas games for groups.

My first Christmas games for groups video that I did last year really took

off. It went really well so I figured you all would like to see what I have done

for Christmas parties this year for some kids groups and for some youth groups.

Here are three of the games that I have played with the kids and youth this year.

If you are interested in Christmas games and you need some last-minute

ideas, keep watching.

Christmas game number one for groups is the wrapping paper and oven

mitt game. I will insert a video of how long it took me to actually wrap

up a gift. We did a 90's themed Christmas party for our youth and so I put a fanny

pack with a whole bunch of 90s stuff in it and wrapped it up.

I have a lot of fun wrapping it up but it took a while. I will insert

some footage of our youth actually playing the game. They would roll

dice and if they hit doubles then they had to pass the present on and the oven

mitts. Then the next person got to try unwrapping while the next person

in line got to roll. They had a lot of fun playing this game. I know you've

probably seen it because there's a video somewhere that went viral. It wasn't my

video but someone's awesome idea so we thought we would try it. We had

really great success so I highly recommend. The second game for groups at

Christmastime is similar to the last game that I just mentioned except

this one you wrap with saran wrap. I'm inserting a video of me wrapping up all the

gifts. This one we are doing with our children for their Christmas party so I

stuck a lot of things in there that the kids would really enjoy and then I

wrapped them up with saran wrap. I don't have footage of them unwrapping it

yet because we actually have not had the party. That's coming up and I'm really

hoping that they will enjoy it but it looks like a lot of fun. Here's a

video of me wrapping up the saran wrap which was a lot of fun. I only used one

roll of saran wrap.

The last Christmas group game I have for you involves chopsticks and mini

marshmallows. You're going to set the timer for one minute and

everybody will try and pick up as many tiny marshmallows as they can with their

chopsticks either using them the regular way you hold chopsticks or like this.

These aren't chopsticks these are actually skewers so don't use skewers

with pointy ends. Make sure that you have chopsticks which are safer. Thanks so

much for watching today's video on Christmas games for groups. I hope that

you found one of these games helpful. I will post a link in the description box down

below to the previous game video that I did last year that you might also be

interested in. Welcome to all the new subscribers. If you haven't subscribed

yet please consider hitting that red subscribe button down below and I will

see you in my next video. Thanks. Bye!

"Oculovestibular Reflex Testing During Brain Death Examination" by David Urion for OPENPediatrics - Duration: 5:30.

Oculovestibular Reflex Testing During Brain Death Examination, by Dr. David K. Urion.

We would next try to stimulate this through caloric testing, or oculovestibular reflexes.

And for that, you need to have some preparation.

The head of the bed needs to be at roughly 30 degrees so we can have the semicircular

canals orthogonal to gravity.

It's always a good idea, since we're about to put water into the bed itself, to put a

towel under here to catch what might flow out of my basin.

We then fill this basin with ice water, and we would take into a syringe 50 CCs of ice

cold water, a very profound stimulus to the oculovestibular network.

Before we go ahead any further, we would take an otoscope and examine the ear to make certain,

first of all, that there is no wax blocking the pathway, so that we, in fact, really are

going to stimulate the tympanic membrane, and also make certain that there's no other

pathology there that would make us not want to do this test.

So we'll investigate on this side, and then, I have to climb around and ask Dr. Tasker

to look in the other side to make certain that the tympanic membranes are intact and

visible.

That being the case, we would then go ahead, and I'll ask Dr. Tasker to hold back his eyelids

so we can watch.

We'll position the basin just behind the ear like this, and then we would insert the tubing--

you can make this from any kind of an IV tubing, just removing the needle-- and we would then,

as rapidly as we can, instill 50 CCs of ice water into this space.

Now, what we're looking for is half of what would be usual caloric nystagmus.

Remember that nystagmus is named after its fast phase, cold-opposite, warm-same, since

the fast phase is the cortical reset.

And we've already demonstrated that there are no cortical responses.

We'd be looking for the brain stem half of this response, which, in this instance, would

be the eyes turning toward the cold water stimulus.

And we would put in these 50 CCs and wait roughly 90 seconds to 120 seconds and see

that there's no response.

We then come around and do the same thing on the other ear, again, making certain that

the eyes begin at midline.

And we would rapidly install 50 CCs of ice cold water into the ear

and look for any response, waiting for a period of time.

And again, we see none.

Oculovestibular Reflex.

With a normal and intact oculovestibular reflex, when you instill cold water into the otic

canal, you will observe that the eyes turn quickly away from the cold water stimulus,

and then turn slowly toward the cold water stimulus in a repetitive manner.

Therefore, if you instill cold water into the right ear, the fast phase of eye movement

will be toward the left side, and the slow phase of movement will be toward the right

side.

This is a normal physiological response known as nystagmus.

After instilling cold water into the ear, you may need to wait 90 to 120 seconds to

observe for any response.

For patients in which there is a lack of cortical response based on earlier tests, the brainstem

may still be intact.

When you instill cold water into the otic canal, if the brain stem is still intact,

you will observe the eyes turn slowly toward the cold water stimulus.

Therefore, if you instill cold water into the right ear, the eyes will turn slowly toward

the right side.

After instilling cold water into the ear, you may need to wait 90 to 120 seconds to

observe for any response.

If the brain stem of the patient is not intact, when you instill cold water into the otic

canal, you will observe that the eyes will not turn toward the cold water stimulus.

Therefore, if you instill cold water into the right ear, the eyes will stay mid-position.

After instilling cold water into the ear, you may need to wait 90 to 120 seconds to

observe for any response before concluding that there is no response.

Remember that cerumen in the otic canal will prevent the cold water from reaching the tympanic

membrane, and thus, you will not be able to assess this reflex.
