Bear Grylls is Olympic star Adam Peaty's dream mentor - Duration: 3:51.

Bear Grylls is Olympic star Adam Peaty's dream mentor

The Rio gold medal-winning swimmer has turned down big money to do reality shows in the past. But he admits he'd jump at being mentored by a real-life action man.

Adam said: "It would be pretty cool to do a show with Bear Grylls. "I've done a two-day hike with someone from the SAS before and I enjoyed it..

"I want to create a legacy before I do telly stuff like that" Adam Peaty "It works your mind in a different way to swimming. It was a new challenge.

"And doing something with Bear would be like that." Adam reveals that he snubbed an offer to compete on I'm A Celebrity. He said: "After the Olympics last year I was offered quite a few TV shows..

One of them was the Jungle but I've got too much going on to do a full series like that. "I wanted to back up my Olympic wins – I didn't want to be a one-hit wonder.

"I want to create a legacy before I do telly stuff like that. I only really have time to do a one-off episode of something." Adam is among the nominees for this year's BBC Sports Personality Of The Year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------.

DAVID Walliams claims homophobic parents campaigned against him online. The TV judge's new book Bad Dad includes a gay wedding – and it's made him a target.

He told Radio Times: "I got two reviews both saying, 'Don't let your children read this.' "My best friend from school is gay and I was best man at his wedding.

"There were lots of children there and I thought what a wonderful thing that these children will grow up without any sense of prejudice." ------------------------------------------------------------------------.

JUDGES Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith were baking hot while filming their festive special. They shot it in the height of summer but bosses got them to wear festive jumpers.

Prue said: "It was extraordinary as one of the days we filmed was in July.

It did seem strange to be wearing a Christmas jumper in the middle of the summer." Paul added: "I wear a really naff Christmas jumper in both of the episodes, but I don't mind at all, it's all part of Christmas – I would wear a Christmas onesie if they found one big enough!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------.

JUDY Murray and Jeremy Vine reckon their dancing has improved. The pair struggled on Strictly in the past but they return for a Christmas Day special at 6.30pm on BBC One.

Judy told Radio Times: "I feel more confident because I know what I'm letting myself in for." And Jeremy added: "I have tried to move to music in a slightly more thoughtful way.".

2017 Infiniti QX30: Badge Engineering Is Still Alive And It Still Sucks part 2 - Duration: 5:34.

2017 Infiniti QX30: Badge Engineering Is Still Alive And It Still Sucks part 2

So Infiniti sells a rebadged Mercedes-Benz GLA that at least looks the part while still resembling all the other Infinitis in the showroom.

Mission accomplished then? Not exactly.

To be fair, it's not exactly a bad thing that the QX30 is based on the GLA, because the GLA isn't necessarily a bad vehicle to begin with.

But it's far from stellar.

The GLA, like the A-Class and CLA, is a front- or all-wheel drive economy car platform for bargain basement Mercedes models to get young buyers locked into lease payments after their first good promotion means they can dump the hand-me-down Accord they had in college.

Even in top shelf form like the CLA45 AMG, the family of cars suffer from an un-Mercedes-like driving experience and several other fatal flaws.

One thing history has thought us about badge engineering is that the faults from the donor vehicle usually tend to shine through, and things are very much the case in this example.

For instance, the QX30 is fitted with the same god-awful, 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission as its mechanical twin.

There are so many things wrong with that gearbox.

First, the gear lever looks like some sort of an arm stub.

Second, it's confusing as hell because it doesn't use the traditional PRND layout, with a tiny, itty little button located next to the P button to change between different drive modes, which are represented by the letters E, S, and M.

I'm guessing E means Economy, but anyway, it's the car's default setting.

It's a huge letdown.

Since it's a dual-clutch transmission, I was expecting it to be quick to respond, and blip the throttle upon downshifts, or at least do something.

It does none of that.

The QX30's transmission is slow to react, doesn't downshift when you want it to, and always hurries up to bury the engine in the higher gears, because its default setting is Eco instead of, well, Normal.

The paddle shifters don't speed up the process either; they actually make things worse.

You pull a paddle, and you can almost count to three before anything actually happens.

I mean, what the heck right? We all know Nissan has the engineering know-how to develop its own excellent dual-clutch transmission.

Instead we get this. And that sucks.

Luckily, the 20-liter turbo four, also sourced from the GLA, offers plenty of grunt.

It develops a healthy 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque all while emitting cool turbo woosh and chirping sounds.

This feels very Mercedes-like, which is good.

I had no complaints with this engine as it delivered ample torque down low from about 1200 rpm, and pulled strong and smoothly all the way to its redline.

The QX30 is reasonably quick, for a small crossover at least, with swift acceleration and plenty of oomph on tap for overtaking.

It's the same story for the all-wheel drive, which is, you guessed it, a 4Matic system and not Nissan's very competent ATESSA AWD.

And since Québec finally decided to order some snow and actually leave it on the ground this time, I was able to play around with my QX30, pulling cute little mini-drifts with it wherever I'd go.

Of course, to achieve this, I had to dig through the infuriatingly complicated interface located in the gauge cluster to remove ESP.

Only then did the QX30 show me what it was really made of.

Roger Federer is perfect, no other tennis player comes close - Alexander Zverev - Duration: 2:42.

Roger Federer is perfect, no other tennis player comes close - Alexander Zverev

GETTY.

That's the view of current tennis world No4 Alexander Zverev. The German is a big fan of tennis veteran Roger Federer, having idolised him growing up. "Theres no one perfect in tennis," Zverev said. "Except maybe when we talk about Roger.

You could say hes perfect." Federer won two Grand Slams this year with Rafael Nadal winning the other two to ensure he finished ahead of the Swiss in the world rankings for 2017.

Theres no one perfect in tennis. Except maybe when we talk about Roger. You could say hes perfect.

Zverev has enjoyed his own success on the court this season, winning Masters series events in Rome and Toronto, and rising to number four in the standings following a successful 2017 season.

The 20-year-old is still yet to beat a top-50 player in the Majors but achieved his best result at Wimbledon, reaching the fourth round back in June.

On his goals for 2018, Zverev said: "I'm the world No4, therefore I hope to do better at the Slams this year."  .

Zverev previously revealed Federer was his idol in August when he beat the Swiss legend to win the Rogers Cup.

"This one against Roger is something so special for me because he was always a great idol growing up for me," he said.  "The greatest player of all time, beating him in a final, not just any final but in the final of a Masters 1000, is amazing.".

How Poisonous is Chocolate to Dogs and Cats? - Duration: 4:22.

we all love to indulge in a little chocolate at Christmas and Easter so

it's no surprise that these are the peak times to see chocolate poisoning in dogs

thankfully though most owners are aware chocolate is toxic but just how

poisonous is chocolate to dogs and cats well stick around to find out more

Hi I'm Dr. Alex Avery from OurPetsHealth.com helping you and your pet to live

healthier happier lives chocolate poisoning is by far the most common

poisoning in dogs in terms of calls to the vet with people wondering what to

do next as a result it's is actually uncommon

for serious life-threatening toxicity to occur as most dogs are seen for

treatment long before they are truly in danger make no mistake though

chocolate definitely has the potential to kill it doesn't even need to take

that much for toxic signs to be shown it all depends on how much of the

poisonous ingredient theobromine is in the type of chocolate eaten now white

chocolate for all intents and purposes is harmless it only contains really tiny

amounts of this substance milk chocolate has a small risk of poisoning 14 grams

of chocolate needs to be eaten per kilogram body weight before treatment is

recommended this equates to about one ounce of chocolate per pound body weight

but what does that mean well a small bar of milk chocolate weighing 45 grams or

one point six ounces would only be dangerous to a pet weighing less than

3.2 kilos or 7 pounds so our real tiny breed teacup dogs are a medium-sized

milk chocolate bar of a hundred grams they or three-and-a-half ounces is

poisonous for a seven and a half or fifteen point seven pound pooch and a

large 250 gram or nine ounce block of milk chocolate would be toxic to any dog

less than 18 kilograms or 40 pounds in weight if you've got a big dog they

would need to get into a big stash of milk chocolate to be in trouble

smaller dogs though you need to be careful dark chocolate however is a

different story this contains much higher levels of theobromine and while

the amount varies the recommendation is that a pet needs to be treated if they

eat more than three and a half grams per kilo body weight or a quarter of an

ounce per pound dark chocolate is four times more

poisonous than milk so now our small bar of chocolate is

dangerous to any pet weighing less than 13 kilograms or 28 pounds our medium

hundred gram bar is poisonous to any pooch under 28 kilograms or 63 pounds and

our large hundred gram bar will kill most pets anything under 72 kilograms or 160

pounds will need treatment cooking chocolate and cocoa powder can be more

toxic again but the number of dogs which eat these are thankfully very small

now these are average figures some dogs may be more sensitive than others to the

effects of chocolate this means it is important to look out for signs of

poisoning even if you don't think your pet has eaten enough to be dangerous

chocolate toxicity causes a range of problems including vomiting diarrhea a

rapid heart rate irregular heartbeat abdominal bloating tremors seizures and

even death thankfully most dog owners are very aware of the dangers of a

chocolate though so severe untreated poisoning is rare in most cases a quick

trip to the vet to make them sick is all that is required but if they ate

chocolate more than a few hours previously or if they ate a very large

amount above the toxic dose then they may need to be hospitalized and further

treatment may be needed activated charcoal may be given and this absorbs

the poison in the intestines preventing it from being absorbed now this is

especially important with chocolate as it can stay in the gut for quite a long

time several days in fact now cats ever the sensible ones can be poisoned just

as easily but because they can't taste sweet things they rarely eat enough to

be affected so if you want to learn about other poisonous foods for dogs and

cats or how to make your dog vomit then be sure to check out the video linked

here and in the description down below in the meantime make sure your chocolate

collection is well-hidden and securely out of reach of your furry friends
