Prince Harry's fiancee who is a fan of De Beers

Clutching a plastic bag laden with cans, Meghan Markle 's reclusive dad shows the pair both love De Beers.

While her engagement ring is rumoured to contain some of the diamond company's gems, her father has been downing lager to toast her forthcoming marriage to Prince Harry.

As the royals quaffed champagne, Thomas Markle Sr, 73, has spent nights in with just some beers for company.

Amid rumours he and Meghan have a strained relationship, he emerged from hiding to run errands in his hometown in Mexico then went to a store for cigarettes and the four-pack of Heineken.

His neighbour said: "Tom is very happy in his own company.

He left his home in Los Angeles to escape parts of his past and start afresh down here.

Thomas Markle, father of Meghan, is seen running errands near his home in Rosarito, Mexico.

The dad was stocking up on Heinekens at the store .

    "He is very content.

There are rumours he has a lady friend in the town.

if Tom wants to tell us he will in his own time.

"He is very charismatic and has a very good sense of humour.

He'll get a lot of attention for sure down here." Retired lighting director Thomas Sr left the US last year after declaring himself bankrupt with credit card debts of £24,180 and savings of just £160.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at their first official royal engagement together last week  But his son, Thomas Jr, says his dad has a good pension and is not broke.

Sources close to Thomas Sr say he is determined to give 36-year-old US actress Meghan away when she weds Harry, 33, at Windsor Castle in May.

Thomas Sr's friend Ramon Moreno, 61, revealed the dad loves to chat about his famous daughter.

Ramon said: "One of the first things he said was 'Have you heard of Meghan Markle?'.

I said 'Yes, that name rings a bell.

I know she is on television'.

He said, 'I am her dad'."   Thomas was seen getting his car checked over at a local gas station before heading to a laundrette to drop off several bags of clothes  Ramon said Thomas Sr is "very happy" about his daughter's relationship, adding: "Yes, he has spoken about Meghan and Harry.

He talked about her and Harry before it was news all over the world." Thomas Sr, who is 6ft 3in and roughly 20st, lives in a rented yellow house overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Plywood boarding covers the front of the property, giving the appearance the home just outside the town of Rosarito Beach is uninhabited.

The 73-year-old emerged from hiding in Mexico to run several errands before popping into his local store stock up on a six pack and cigarettes   Before hiding himself away recently, Thomas Sr was often seen driving an old Ford Escape or Volvo S70 to the shops to buy his favourite cigarettes.

Mr Markle's emergence came as an interview has resurfaced in which Meghan, who stars in TV drama Suits, revealed how she battled insecurities and rejection in her bid to break through in Hollywood.

She said two years ago she was branded "not thin enough, not pretty enough, not ethnic enough, while also being too thin, too ethnic, too pretty the very next day".

Apartment communities is it a thing - Duration: 3:18.

G'day Andrew Murray here from the Apartment Specialists, welcome to our channel today

we've got Jesse here from the team. - How you doing?

- Cool, cheers Jesse for coming in he is a bit sick today.

- Getting better. - Yeah, so I've got Jesse in because you've lived and

owned in three different apartment complexes, - Yep

- and so have I, so we're going to be talking about living in an apartment and this

whole community thing people talk about you know is there a community

or the sense of community when you're living an apartment complex and what do you reckon?

- Yeah well I think a lot of it is dependant on the apartment block

probably more no than yes at the moment but I think with you know a lot more

younger people getting into apartments, it is heading towards a bit more of

a community. Reason why I say with younger people is examples of someone

that I know that they've just bought their first home in apartment, they think

there is a huge community there because there's a Facebook page for

that block which everyone operates on. So you know if they left their lights

on once in the garage and you know you know someone alerted them 'whose car is

this here? you left your lights on' and stuff like that and they just got to

know everyone by that Facebook page. - Yeah I think little things like

that and I'm hearing about them more and more you know even having the communal

Gardens and all this kind of stuff it's becoming something at the moment yeah

100% agree I think it does depend on the building you're in, but in

most cases I don't see it at the moment but it is happening.

- Yeah like two out of three blocks that

I've lived in it's just been like, you see your neighbour, 'what's up' and that's about it yeah.

- Yeah and traditionally with apartment complexes people don't really get connected

unless something bad happened, like you're AGM's, which are your Annual General Meetings about

your building each year not many people go to them but if there's something

wrong, they're full. You know if there's an issue with the building or building

manager or something like that but yeah on the community side I think it's going to

come at the moment it's a bit like a an average street. There isn't that

much community there but I think as we move on especially with technology as you say, Facebook all that.

- The other one as well is, like you know, the apartment buildings where they also

operate as a hotel, short-term stay, you know a block that

I lived in I actually got really familiar with all the staff there because every

single morning you've got the concierge, someone there to say hi to, so there is a bit of a community side in that

aspect, it's a little bit different, they are not actually living there, but you know people working there.

- Yeah I see what you mean if you look at the scenic hotel as

well with the building manager, I got to know him. He let me keep my dog, and I'd sneak him

in and he knew about it, the staff liked me and all that kind of thing.

Okay cool so there is a community but

don't expect it yet, it is something that's happening more and more and if

you do want a community when you look at that particular complex you really want

to be asking you know speak to the chairman and speak to the committee and go okay "how's

the community in this building?" I think most of the time you're going to get a no but

there are some that help you. - Definitely yeah.

- Okay cool cheers Jesse for coming in. - Sweet As.

- Any questions put them in the box below. Talk soon, Cheers.
